A Redemptorist priest, the Rev. George Joly spent most of his 50-year career serving the poor in South America. He died Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999, at the age of 80 at a health care facility in St. Louis.

HOGSTON, Eleanor Mae (Dody), age 74, May 6, 2000, of Norton Shores, MI; formerly of Detroit. Born January 3, 1926, in Muskegon. Eleanor Mae Schutterlee married Robert E. Hogston on August 21, 1948; he survives. Also survived by children Jack, Pamela, Robert, Bruce and Patricia; grandchildren Adam, Katie, Kelly, Nicole, Chelsea, Victoria, Clare and Thomas; sister Bonnie, sisters-in-law Maxine and Doris. Mrs. Hogston was employed by BASF Wyandotte in the 1970's and 1980's. She and Mr. Hogston relocated to the Muskegon area to enjoy their retirement. Services are today, May 10, at the Clock Funeral Home Chapel in Muskegon, with Rev. Susan Hagans officiating. Interment Norton Cemetery, Norton Shores, MI. Memorials to the Alzheimer's Association or Hospice of Muskegon /Oceana County. Mrs. Hogston was an avid reader who enjoyed music, movies, theater and playing bridge. She will be tenderly remembered as a sweet, selfless, loving wife and mother.

TOTH- John Raymond, age 66, June 1, 2000, died suddenly in Florida. Formerly of Lincoln Park and Wyandotte, he was the son of the late Martin and Mary Toth and is survived by his son Gilbert, daughter Tracy, future daughter-in-law Melanie, sister Beverly Markus (Albert), two nieces Kerri (Scott) and Kelly, and three great nephews, Alex, Ryan and Donnie. John was retired five years from the Chrysler Corporation in Trenton. Cremation was followed by interment at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery. He was a quiet and kind man and will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
