MARJORIE STONE (BOOTH) BAUMANN
Marjorie Stone (Booth) Baumann, 84, formerly of Rochester, died May 16, 2002.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane Booth; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made to the family to defray funeral expenses.

DOROTHY ELLEN CANNON
Dorothy Ellen Cannon, 78, of Troy, formerly of Rochester, died May 26, 2002.
Mrs. Cannon was the owner and operator of Dorothy's Beauty Salon, Royal Oak. She was also a member of the Heritage Church of Christ, Clawson.
She is survived by her husband, Charles; daughters, Claudette Pickett, Patricia Tiemann and Debra Wentworth; son, Dwight; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter and two sisters.
Interment was at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Troy.
Memorials can be made to the American Heart Association.
Arrangements were handled by Price Funeral Home, Troy.

JOHN FALLON
John Fallon, 75, of Rochester, died Saturday, May 25, 2002.
He was employed by General Motors Corp. for 27 years before joining Chrysler Corp. in 1982 where he was general plant manager of Chrysler's Power Train Division until his retirement in 1992.
Mr. Fallon played tackle on Notre Dame's undefeated 1948 national championship team but turned down a career in professional football to become a boxer. He also coached football at Notre Dame and Wayne State University.
A U.S. Army tank commander during the Korean War, he was involved in the famous battle for Pork Chop Hill. 
Mr. Fallon is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughters, Meghan Holmen and Bridget Hall; son, Michael Fallon; nine grandchildren and a brother.
Services were held Wednesday at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church, Rochester Hills.
Arrangements were by Pixley Funeral Home, Rochester.

ELIZABETH (BESS) PURDY
Elizabeth (Bess) Purdy, 98, of Chelsea, formerly of Rochester, died May 23, 2002. She was born Oct. 16, 1903 in Vestaburg, Mich.
Her husband, Henry L. Purdy, was the owner of Purdy's Drug Store, 321 Main Street, Rochester, from 1943-1963.
She is survived by her daughters, Ellen Farr and Margaret Frelander; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Private services were held in Hollenbeck Cemetery, Columbiaville, Mich.
Memorials can be made to Arbor Hospice, Ann Arbor or the charity of donor's choice.

STELLA MAE CHAPMAN
Stella Mae Chapman, 74, of Troy, formerly of Royal Oak, died June 11, 2002.
She was a nurses aide and retired in 1982 after 25 years. Mrs. Chapman was a member of the Troy Ward - Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by her children, Bonnie Cundiff, Donna Pacheco, William Chapman, Walter Chapman, Richard Chapman of Troy and Jesse Cundiff of Troy; 15 grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters, including Lydia Keelin of Rochester Hills.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 14, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. 
Interment was at Christian Memorial Cemetery, Rochester Hills.

MARION I. HARNED
Marion I. Harned, 80, of Rochester Hills, formerly of Utica, died June 11, 2002.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy Currie of Auburn Hills, Janet Robitaille and Cheryl Parkinson; son, Roger Harned; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren a sister and a brother.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 14, at Pixley Funeral Home.
Burial was at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East.

PHYLLIS E. MCKINNEY
Phyllis E. McKinney, 84, of Rochester Hills, died June 10, 2002.
She was a life-time resident of Rochester and a graduate of Rochester High School and the Highland Park General Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. McKinney retired from Crittenton Hospital in 1977. 
She is survived by her husband, Bert; daughter, Patricia Mayer of Lake Orion; son, Frederick McKinney; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 14, at Pixley Funeral Home, Rochester.

PAULINE (POLLY) MITZELFELD
Pauline Clark (Polly) Mitzelfeld, 79, of Shelby Township, formerly of Rochester, died June 11, 2002.
She was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church and a charter member of Great Oaks Country Club.
Mrs. Mitzelfeld is survived by her son, William Thomas Mitzelfeld of Rochester Hills; daughters, Jane Ann Paschal of Shelby Township and May Lou Thomas of Oxford; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a sister. 
Funeral services were held Friday, June 14, at Pixley Funeral Home.
Burial was at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Troy.

HELEN FRANCES PELLERITO
Helen Frances Pellerito, 78, of Roscommon, formerly of Rochester Hills, died June 10, 2002.
She is survived by her daughters, Diana Wright, Rose Alward of Rochester Hills, Mary Jane Wells of Oxford and Louann Engel; and sons, John, Michael and Anthony.
Funeral services were held Thursday, June 13, at Pixley Funeral Home.

FREDERICK G. BODEEN
Frederick G. Bodeen, 78, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Rochester, died June 7, 2002.
He was a graduate of Henry Ford Trade School and worked for Gathen Industries and Press Products Corp.
Mr. Bodeen is survived by his wife, Alberta; son, James Logan of Pontiac; daughters, DeAnna Andre of Troy and Hope Logan; and two grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Saturday, June 15, at First Presbyterian Church, Mount Clemens.

HARRIET PATRICIA HAGGERTY
Harriet Patricia Haggerty, 83, of Rochester Hills, died June 13, 2002. She was born in 1919, in Detroit.
Ms. Haggerty was employed by Utylite Corp.
She is survived by her caregiver, Angela Watson.

DONNA JEAN (DJ) MOORE
Donna Jean (DJ) Moore, 52, of Shelby Township, formerly of Rochester Hills, died June 10, 2002.
She is survived by her husband, Dannie; daughter, Dawne Moore-Heath; her mother, Eileen; a sister and two brothers.
Memorials can be made to Dannie Moore, 47141 Greenview, Shelby Township, 48317 to be used for a park bench in Donna's name.

NINA BELLE OPPERMAN
Nina Belle Opperman, 91, of Rochester Hills, formerly of New Mexico, died June 17, 2002.
Ms. Opperman was a registered nurse for Otero County, New Mexico and the founder of Zia's Therapy Center for the Handicapped in New Mexico.
She is survived by two sisters, including Florence Baskerville of Rochester Hills; and a brother.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 20, at Millington Township Cemetery, Millington Township, Mich.

MABEL PINGEL
Mabel Pingel, 86, of Rochester Hills, formerly of Mount Clemens, died June 14, 2002.
She was a member of the Mount Clemens Garden Club.
Mrs. Pingel is survived by many loving family members.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 18, 2002, at Potere-Modetz Funeral Home.
Interment was at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.

JOSEPH A. RIGHTLEY
Joseph A. Rightley, 93, of Rochester Hills died June 9, 2002.
He was retired from the Studebaker Corp., South Bend, Ind. and the UAW in Detroit. 
He was active at Meadow Brook Hall at Oakland University and the Older Persons Commission, Rochester.
Mr. Rightley is survived by his son, James Rightley; daughter Joan Lehman; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. 
Visitation will be held from 5-9 p.m., today, Thursday, June 20, at Potere-Modetz Funeral Home, 339 Walnut, Rochester.
Memorial services will be held at 8 p.m., today.
Memorial contributions can be made to Meadow Brook Hall or the Older Persons Commission. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.

OLIVER DEAN SCHROEDER
Oliver Dean Schroeder, 73, of Lake Orion, formerly of Leonard, Rochester and Detroit, died Friday, June 14, 2002.
Mr. Schroeder was a pattern maker for Chrysler Corp. for 34 years, retiring in 1980. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Joy; sons, Tim, David and Andrew Schroeder, Steve Marcotte of Rochester and Darrel Marcotte; daughters, Caryl Carson of Rochester Hills and Janet Briley; many grandchildren, a brother and a sister.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 17, at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer.
Burial was at Green Corners Cemetery, Hadley.

Joanne Joyce Spencer, 61, of Pontiac, formerly of Rochester, died June 11, 2002.
She is survived by her sons, Larry, Mark, Randy Tippett, James and Johnny Wallace and two brothers.

ROSEMARY WILLIS
Rosemary Willis, 84, of Birmingham, formerly of Rochester Hills, died June 15, 2002.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard Willis; son, Leonard (Pete) Willis Jr.; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a sister.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 18, at Potere-Modetz Funeral Home.

HELEN MARIE BYRD
Helen Marie Byrd, 84, of Rochester, formerly of Eastpointe, died June 19, 2002.
She was a lunchroom assistant for St. Veronica school for 25 years.
Mrs. Byrd was a resident of Eastpointe from 1948 until 2001 and was a member of St. Veronica Catholic Church.
She is survived by son, Dr. Roger Byrd of Shelby Township; daughters, Marilyn Brzys of Brooklyn, N.Y. and Nancy Knoblock of Richmond; sister, Estelle Gongle of Washington, Mich.; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 22, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Rochester.
Burial was at Resurrection Cemetery.

PAT MARGARET TESH
Pat Margaret Tesh, 54, of Rochester, died May 30, 2002.
She was a graduate of Rochester High School and the Oakland Community College School of Nursing and was a nurse at Mercy Bellbrook.
She is survived by her husband, Terry; daughter, Margaret, son, Robert; and mother, San Borst.
Funeral services were held June 4 at St. John Lutheran Church, Rochester.
Memorials can be made to the Karmanos Cancer Institute or the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society.

MARY E. WEBER
Mary E. Weber, 79, of Rochester Hills, died June 18, 2002.
She was employed by St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Pontiac and taught nursing at Oakland Community College. Mrs. Weber was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and volunteered for the National Cancer Society.
She also was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II.
She is survived by her daughters, Colleen Miller, Debbie Stephens of Lake Orion, Janet Mazzsetti of Oxford, and Marion Bradley; eight grandchildren three sisters and a brother.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated June 21, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lake Orion.
Memorials can be made to the St. Joseph School Library Fund or Capuchin Soup Kitchen.
Arrangements were by Sparks-Griffin Funeral Home, Inc. of Lake Orion. 

DAISY ASIM
Daisy Asim, 93, of Rochester Hills died June 21, 2002.
She was a cook at the St. Nicholas Greek Camp. Mrs. Asim was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, the Ladies Philoptochos Society and the Semendre Society.
She is survived by sons, Demetrious Asim of Rochester Hills and Michael Asim of Orion Township, two grandchildren and a sister.
Funeral services were held Monday, June 24, at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 760 Wattles Road, Troy.
Interment was at Ottawa Park Cemetery.
Memorials contributions can be made to St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Bloomfield Hills.

DOROTHY IRENE OLSON
Dorothy Irene Olson, 77, of Leonard, formerly of Rochester, died June 21, 2002.
Mrs. Olson is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Susko, Susan Cubbage and Teresa Olson; sons, William Prettyman, Lawrence Prettyman, Bradley Olson, Mark Olson, Bruce Olson, and Rodney Olson; 31 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two brothers and three sisters. 
Funeral services were held June 25, at Mount Avon Cemetery, Rochester.

STANLEY BERNARD PACHLA
Stanley Bernard Pachla, 83, of Rochester Hills, died June 21, 2002.
He was a licensed professional engineer and was employed by the Packard Motor Co. and Ford Motor Co. for a combined 40 years. Mr. Pachla also served as a 1st Lieutenant with the Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine; son, Mark Pachla; daughter, Mary Jo Whitbey; two grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services were held June 26.
Burial was at Van Hoosen Jones-Stoney Creek Cemetery.
Arrangements were by Pixley Funeral Home.

VERNON R. TINCHER
Vernon R. Tincher, 86, a Rochester area resident, died June 23, 2002.
He was a member of the First Congregational Church of Rochester and a proud Army veteran.
Mr. Tincher is survived by his daughters, Nancy Keith and Mary McNaughton; son, Brad Tincher; five grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and a sister.
Private funeral services were held.
Inurnment will take place at Arlington National Cemetery, Va.
Memorial tributes can be made to the Children's Hospital of Michigan.
