Christopher Shawn Baize, 33, of Cedar, Mich., formerly of Rochester and Hazel Park, died April 14, 2002.
He is survived by his daughter, Brittany Joanne; son, Evan Michael; mother, Cathy Bliss; grandparents, Bernita and Russell Towten and Charles Robison; three sisters and special friend, Debbie Gross.
Funeral services were held April 18, at Potere-Modetz Funeral Home.
Interment was at Maple Grove Cemetery.

DANIEL REED BURKHART
Daniel Reed Burkhart, 69, of Rochester died April 19, 2002.
He enjoyed music through the Rochester Tuesday Musicale.
Mr. Burkhart is survived by his wife, Dolores; sons, David Crum, Jonathan Preston and Martin Burkhart; daughter, Jean Rissmiller; five grandchildren, tow sisters and a brother. 
Memorial services were held April 21 at Potere-Modetz Funeral Home.

RUTH JUANITA COX
Ruth Juanita Cox, 86, of Rochester Hills, died April 19, 2002.
She is survived her by daughter, Kathleen Edson; sons, Charles Jr., Ricky and David; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services were held.
Burial was at Perry Mount Park Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by Pixley Funeral Home.

GLENNA LU EVANS
Glenna Lu Evans, 92, of Rochester Hills, formerly of Gainesville, Texas, died April 5, 2002.
She is survived by her daughter, Glenna Mach of Rochester Hills; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held April 8 at Potere-Modetz Funeral Home. 
Interment was at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, Clinton Township.

ALICE MARJORIE FRISCH
Alice Marjorie Frisch, 74, of Rochester, died April 14, 2002.
She is survived by her husband, Keith; daughters, Janice Frisch and Gail Frisch; son, Bradley Frisch; a grandchild and a brother.
Funeral services were held April 18 at Potere-Modetz Funeral Home. 
Interment was at Mount Avon Cemetery.

WILLIAM S. HURLEY
William S. Hurley, 67, of Rochester Hills died April 21, 2002.
He formerly owned and operated Hurley's Market in Rochester. Mr. Hurley was a retired Rochester Volunteer Fireman and a member of the F&AM Rochester Lodge No. 5. 
He is survived by his wife, Juanita; daughters, Suzette Waatti of Shelby Township and Teri Ward; three grandchildren and a brother.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., today, April 25 at Pixley Funeral Home.

MARGARET SCHMITT MCGRATH
Margaret Schmitt McGrath, 75, of Rochester, died April 5, 2002. 
She was employed by the Detroit Pistons Organization for many years.
Mrs. McGrath is survived by her sons, William and Daniel McGrath; three grandchildren and a sister.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated April 9 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Rochester.
Interment was at Mount Avon Cemetery.

BRUNO (BEN) LADISLAUS RUSS
Bruno (Ben) Ladislaus Russ, 89, of Rochester died April 2, 2002.
He is survived by his daughters, Bernie Sholtz and Kathi Myers; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services were held April 5 at Potere-Modetz Funeral Home.
Interment was at White Chapel Cemetery.

VERA BARRON SMART
Vera Barron Smart, 91, of Rochester Hills, formerly of Illinois, died April 4, 2002. She was born in Truro, Cornwall, England.
Mrs. Smart is survived by her daughters, Barbara Daniel and Dawn Thompson; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held April 8 at Potere-Modetz Funeral Home.
Interment was at Mount Avon Cemetery.

ROBERT CHARLES TACHICK
Robert Charles Tachick, 78, of Hillman, Mich., formerly of Rochester, died Tuesday, April 23, 2002. He was born March 23, 1924 in Hammond, Ind.
Mr. Tachick was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the 717th tank battalion in France and Germany. He was a senior partner in R & C Robertson Builders and NuTrend Homes, both in Rochester.
In recent years he was self-employed having his own saw mill in Hillman.
Mr. Tachick is survived by his wife, Marguerite; daughters, Beverly Sheffer, Barbara Martin and Katherine Stevenson; sons, Robert and John; nine grandchildren and a brother.
A memorial service was held Saturday at the Green Funeral Home, Hillman.

ISABEL R. BRANNACK
Isabel R. Brannack, 86, of Rochester Hills, died April 27, 2002.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Brannack and Barbara Decker; and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held April 29 at First Congregational United Church of Christ, Rochester.
Interment was at White Chapel Cemetery.

MAE A. DAGGETT-BURKHART
Mae A. Daggett-Burkhart, 81, of Rochester Hills, formerly of Ravenna, died April 24, 2002.
She was retired from GM Diesel Equipment in Grand Rapids after 30 years of service.
Mrs. Daggett-Burkhart was a member of Rochester Hills Christian Fellowship.
She is survived by her sons, Ron Daggett of Rochester Hills and Phillip Daggett; five grandchildren; a brother and three sisters. 
Funeral services were held April 29.
Burial was at Ravenna Cemetery.

Muriel R. Cook, 87, of Rochester, died April 23, 2002.
She is survived by her niece, Sherry McCardell and her great-niece, Julie David.

Interment was at Paint Creek Cemetery.

AGNES GERTRUDE CRITES
Agnes Gertrude Crites, 86, of Auburn Hills, formerly of Rochester Hills, died April 28, 2002.
She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Lipon, Theresa Nelson and Lorraine Gradis; sons, Thomas, Laurence and Donald; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a sister. 
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Inurnment was at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

DR. ARCH H. HALL
Dr. Arch H. Hall, 78, of Rochester Hills, died April 25, 2002.
He was a partner of Reynolds and Associates and a radiologist at Harper Hospital and Crittenton Hospital.
Dr. Hall was an active member of his church choir, the Church Street Singers, the OPC, Youth for Understanding Exchange Program and the Rochester Rotary.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothea; son, Perry Richard Hall; daughters, Veronica Sue Hall, Elsbeth Ann Bourjaily and Dorothy Jean Wells; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., today, Thursday, May 2, at First Congregational United Church of Christ, 1315 N. Pine, Rochester. 
Inurnment will be at Christian Memorial Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to First Congregational Church.

MARY H. LUDWICZAK
Mary H. Ludwiczak, 89, of Auburn Hills, formerly of Rochester Hills, has died.
She is survived by her daughter, Margaret Quante; sons, John and Edward; 23 grandchildren and a sister.
Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m., Sunday, May 5, at Potere-Modetz Funeral Home, Rochester.
Mrs. Ludwiczak will lie instate from 9:45 a.m., Monday, May 6 until the time of Mass at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1400 Inglewood, Rochester
Interment will be at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

ELEANOR MILLER
Eleanor Miller, 87, of Orion Township, formerly of Rochester Hills, died April 29, 2002.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews. 
At Ms. Miller's request, there will be no public services.
Inurnment was at Millington Cemetery, Tuscola, Mich.

STELLA R. POKORSKI
Stella R. Pokorski, 84, of Rochester Hills, died April 29, 2002.
She is survived by her husband, Casimir; son, Lawrence Pokorski; daughter, Kathleen Ruszala; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m., today, Thursday, May 2 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 3400 Adams Road, Auburn Hills.
Interment will be at Van Hoosen Jones Cemetery.

HENRY W. WILLIAMS JR.
Henry W. Williams Jr., 83, of Rochester, died April 23, 2002.
He was past master of F&AM Acacia Lodge No. 477, past Commander of American Legion, Mount Moriah Post No. 460 and a World War II veteran of the U. S. Amry. Mr. Williams was also a member of the Michigan Bell Pioneers.
He is survived by his wife, Marion; daughters, Barbara Williams of Rochester Hills and Sandra Moon; sons, James, David and Daniel; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a brother and a sister, Dorothy Bush.
Funeral services were held April 25 at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
Burial was at Fort Custer National Cemetery.

NATHANIEL ABBATE
Nathaniel Abbate, 87, of Auburn Hills, died May 17, 2002.
Mr. Abbate was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus No. 5452 and a veteran of World War II.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, Dominic and Nathaniel; daughters, Beverly Tenerowicz and Bernadine Smith; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren a sister and a brother.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated Monday, May 20, at St. Irenaeus Catholic Church, Rochester Hills.

MARJORIE STONE (BOOTH) BAUMANN
Marjorie Stone (Booth) Baumann, 84, of Marion, formerly of Rochester, died May 16, 2002.
Mrs. Baumann was a 1935 graduate of Rochester High School and attended Michigan State College. 
She was employed by General Motors Truck and Coach Division in Pontiac for 23 years.
Mrs. Baumann was heavily involved in Oakland County's 4-H programs in the late 1950s.
She is survived by her daughter, Jane Booth; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

ERWIN G. BEITLER
Erwin G. Beitler, 82, of Rochester, died May 10, 2002.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II and a Chrysler Corp. retiree.
Mr. Beitler was a member of the DAV and St. John Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Laurna Beitler McDanold; sons, Brian and Mark and a sister. 
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 15, 2002.

Wanda Borus (Vange), 90, of Rochester, died May 1, 2002.

Claron Ray Hinkle, 88, of Rochester Hills, died May 16, 2002.
He worked for R. R. Donnelley Printing Co., Chicago, Ill. 
Mr. Hinkle is survived by his wife, Florence; daughters, Gladys Rupnow, Karen Raffaelli, Lu Ann Walberg, Lynette Hinkle and Mary Ann Zander; sons, Edward, Lawrence, Allen, Cleon and Steven; 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 20, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Rochester Hills.

WANDA IRENE LOVELACE
Wanda Irene (Teeple) Lovelace, 81, of Harrisville, formerly of Rochester, died Sunday, May 19, 2002.
She was formerly an employee for Kresge in Rochester and Troy.
Mrs. Lovelace was a former member of the Church of the Nazerene and the One Room School House Historical Society.
She is survived by her daughters, Anna Whitten of Rochester Hills, Sarah Paine of Lake Orion and Birdena Peters; sons, Donald of Rochester Hills, Willis and Fred; 16 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and five sisters.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., today at Gillies Funeral Home, Lincoln.
Memorials can be made to the Dialysis Center of Alpena General Hospital.

DANIEL CLAY DAVIS
Daniel Clay Davis, 86, of Pontiac, died May 21, 2002.
He was a veteran of World War II and retired from Fisher Body in 1974. Mr. Davis was a member of Columbia Avenue Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughters, Aelene Drake of Rochester and Patricia Workman of Canton; son, Daniel Davis of Oxford; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, two brothers and a sister.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 25.
Burial was at Christian Memorial Cemetery, Rochester Hills.

She retired from the Avondale School District after 32 years of service.
Mrs. Gronski is survived by her daughter, Jeane Dixon; son, Richard Gronski; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Antoinette (Toni) Olsen, 78, of Rochester, died May 16, 2002.

Randall James (Papa) Viers, 59, of Waterford, formerly of Novi, died May 20, 2002.
Mr. Viers was owner and operator of Home Improvements by Rand, Waterford.
He was a member of Woodside Bible Church, formerly Troy Baptist Church, Troy.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann Viers; sons, Christopher James Viers of Farmington Hills and David Allan Viers; daughter, Kimberly Lynn Brekke; his mother, Ethel V. Viers of Lake Orion; brother, Charles L. Viers of Lake Orion; sisters, Carole Ann Chaney of Rochester Hills and Mary Lee Krause and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Friday, at Woodside Bible Church, Troy.
Interment was at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Troy.
