TIFFANY ROSE ARMSTRONG
Tiffany Rose Armstrong, 26, of Madison Heights, formerly of Troy, died May 14, 2002, at home. She was born Jan. 31, 1976, in Mount Clemens.
Mrs. Armstrong was a graduate of Sterling Heights High School and attended Davenport University. She was owner and operator of Xtrodinair Cleaning.
Mrs. Armstrong was a member of the Multiple Sclerosis Association and Chrons Society. She was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church.
Mrs. Armstrong is survived by her husband, Bobbie Lee; son, Rico Drewey; daughters, Gabrielle Armstrong and Danielle Armstrong; parents, Edward Isabell of Livonia and Sharlene Bette of Sterling Heights; grandfather, Joe Bette of Warren; sisters, Tana Isabell of Sterling Heights and Coleen Bonadeo of Livonia; and brothers, Edward Isabell of Livonia and Kevin Schwab of Livonia.
Funeral services were held May 16 at St. Anastasia Catholic Church.
Interment was at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Troy.

JAMES RICHARD NEWBERRY
James Richard Newberry, 80, of Sterling Heights, died May 16, 2002, at William Beaumont Hospital, Troy. He was born Dec. 31, 1921, in Urichville, Ohio.
Mr. Newberry was director of quality control at McGill Manufacturing, Valparaiso, Ind., until his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Mr. Newberry was on the building committee of the School Board in Valparaiso and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, where he was former president.
Mr. Newberry is survived by his daughter, Karen Connelly of Merchaniceburg, Pa.; and stepdaughter, Nancy R. Randall of Troy.
A private family memorial service was held.
Inurnment was at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Troy.
Memorials can be sent to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

DOLORES IRENE (HANSON) BRYAN
Dolores Irene (Hanson) Bryan, 78, of Troy, formerly of Mt. Clemens, died May 18, 2002, at home. She was born Sept. 7, 1923, in Lake Orion.
Mrs. Bryan loved crossword puzzles, sewing, crafts and reading.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorene M. Griggs of Imlay City; sister, Marie E. Jackson of Troy; niece, Patricia May Gensley of Lake Orion; and one grandchild.
Memorial services were held May 22 at Chapel of the Flowers, White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Troy.

DONALD EMERSON CHARLESWORTH
Donald Emerson Charlesworth, 88, of Troy, formerly of Royal Oak, died May 18, 2002, at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak and a member of the Beta Theta Pi fraternity at University of Michigan. 
Mr. Charlesworth is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughters, Beverly Fogo of Troy and Virginia O'Brien of Berkley; niece, Betty Holmes of Warren; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held May 22 at First Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak.
Interment was at Woodlawn Cemetery, Detroit.

DANIELLE YVETTE MURPHY
Danielle Yvette Murphy, 29, of Ferndale, died May 19, 2002, at Port Huron Hospital, Port Huron. She was born May 21, 1972, in Detroit.
She was a 1989 graduate of Oak Park High School and a member of the World of Faith International Christian Center, Southfield.
Ms. Murphy is survived by a daughter, Marisha E. N. Murphy of Troy; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Learcus Murphy of Ferndale; and sister, Nikole Y. Murphy of Troy.
Visitation will be held from 3-8 p.m., today, Thursday, May 23, at Price Funeral Home, Troy and at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 24, at Word of Faith International Christian Center, 20000 West Nine Mile.  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 24, at the World of Faith International Christian Center.

PEARL H. YOUATT
Pearl H. Youatt, 94, of Troy, died May 18, 2002, at home. She was born April 20, 1908, in Akeley, Minn.
Mrs. Youatt was a life member of the Order of Eastern Star and past president of the Michiganer Club.
She is survived by her daughters, Mary Steinbauer, Betty Gorning and Catherine Youatt; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 10 a.m., today, Thursday, May 23, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 749 W. 14 Mile Road, Clawson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., today, at the church.

FLORENCE LOUISE GRONSKI
Florence Louise Gronski, 87, of Rochester, formerly of Troy, died May 21, 2002.
She retired from the Avondale School District after 32 years.
Mrs. Gronski is survived by her daughter, Jeane Dixon; son, Richard Gronski; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Burial was at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Troy.

ERVIN G. KADE
Ervin G. Kade, 68, of Troy, died May 20, 2002, at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. He was born May 5, 1934, in Roseville.
Mr. Kade was an accountant for General Motors.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine; daughter, Anna M. Geach; son, Ervin P. Kade; sister, Ruwella Sebastian; and three grandchildren.

RANDALL JAMES (PAPA) VIERS
Randall James (Papa) Viers, 59, of Waterford, formerly of Novi, died May 20, 2002.
Mr. Viers was owner and operator of Home Improvements by Rand, Waterford.
He was a member of Woodside Bible Church, formerly Troy Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Ann Viers; sons, Christopher James Viers of Farmington Hills and David Allan Viers; daughter, Kimberly Lynn Brekke; his mother, Ethel V. Viers of Lake Orion; brother, Charles L. Viers of Lake Orion; sisters, Carole Ann Chaney of Rochester Hills and Mary Lee Krause and two grandchildren.

DOROTHY ELLEN CANNON
Dorothy Ellen Cannon, 78, of Troy, formerly of Rochester, died May 26, 2002, at home. She was born Aug. 23, 1923, in Palmer, Tenn.
Mrs. Cannon was the owner and operator of Dorothy's Beauty Salon, Royal Oak. She was a member of the Heritage Church of Christ, Clawson and loved to play golf.
Mrs. Cannon is survived by her husband, Charles; daughters, Claudette Pickett of Cummins, Patricia Tiemann of Brighton and Debra Wentworth of Gladwin; son, Dwight of Clinton Twp.; sisters, Mary Betrus of New Port Richey, Fla. and Rosenelle Berner of Warren; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
Interment was at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Troy.

WILLIAM GARY SACKNER
William Gary Sackner, 51, of Troy, died May 27, 2002, at home. He was born Oct. 17, 1950, in Highland Park.
Mr. Sackner was a salesman for Bill Doran Wholesale Floral Supplies. He loved gardening and the outdoors.
He is survived by his mother, Winifred Sackner of Troy ; sisters, Marjorie Flynn of Troy and Mary Ann Caldwell of Troy; and his beloved companion, Barbara A. Gordon of Troy.
Funeral services will be held at noon, today, Thursday, May 30, at Price Funeral Home, 3725 S. Rochester Road, Troy.
Interment will be at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Troy.

"JACK" JOHN GREIG WILSON
"Jack" John Greig Wilson, 76, of Sterling Heights and Sun City Center, Fla., formerly of Troy, died May 22, 2002. He was born Dec. 21, 1925, in Detroit.
He was owner, operator and president of CAMCO (Cable Access Management Co.) from 1988 through 1998. Mr. Wilson retired in 1985 after 35 years as a public relations director for Michigan Bell Telephone Co., Royal Oak.
Mr. Wilson was an electrician in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Lamplighters Drump Corp., the All-American Judges Association, VFW and Am Vets.
He was director of the Michigan Bell Band, chairman of the board of directors of the South Oakland YMCA, president of the Royal Oak Chamber of Commerce and a member of the Ferndale Exchange Club.
Mr. Wilson also served on the Troy Planning Commission, the Zoning Board of Appeals and Troy Daze.
He is survived by his wife, Judith Ann (Seestadt) Wilson; sons, Jack Wilson of Royal Oak, Stephen Wilson of Ferndale, Robert E. Wilson of Burton and Richard Wilson of Bloomfield Township; daughters, Carol Ann Wilson of Largo, Fla., Mary Jo Wilson, and Jennifer L. Wilson of Sterling Heights; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 29, at Price Funeral Home, Troy.
Interment was at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Troy.

ELSIE MAHONEY
Elsie Mahoney, A.C.S.W., 62, of Troy, formerly of Royal Oak, died May 28, 2002, at home. She was born Sept. 30, 1939, in Wayne County.
Ms. Mahoney was a school social worker for Warren Consolidated Schools. She was a member of the Michigan Education Association, the National Association of Social Workers and the Michigan Association of School Social Workers.
Ms. Mahoney is survived by her aunt, Margaret M. Cameron; and many cousins.

JULIA SALYER MARESCO
Julia Salyer Maresco, 91, of Sarasota, Fla., formerly of Troy, died May 13, 2002. She was born April 21, 1911, in Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Maresco retired from ITT Avon in Rochester in 1973 after 32 years of service.
She is survived by a daughter, Beverly Buckley of North Branch; sister, Helen Smith of Parma, Ohio; one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Troy.

ROBERT JOSEPH SMITH
Robert Joseph Smith, 88, of Troy, formerly of Rochester Hills, died May 29, 2002.
He is survived by his wife, Anne; son, Stephen Smith of Lake Orion; daughters, Susan Mangiapane of Troy, Judith Anderson of Calif. and Marian Nicholas of Highland; 11 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

LYNN EDWIN MILLER
Lynn Edwin "Win" Miller, 44, of Troy, formerly of Rochester, died June 7, 2002, at home. He was born Aug. 16, 1957, in Rochester.
He was a substitute teacher for the Troy School District.
Mr. Miller was a member of Emerson Unitarian Universalist Church where he was president of the church and was a member of the Troy Library Book Discussion Group.
He liked bowling, reading, cooking, traveling, animals, baseball and music. 
Mr. Miller was a graduate of Wayne State University.
He is survived by his wife, Susan T.; daughter, Eva E. Miller of Troy; mother, Gayle W. Miller of Rochester; mother-in-law, Thelma Knapp of Clinton Township; and brother, Dale Miller of Nederland, Colo.
Memorial services were held June 11 at Emerson Unitarian Universalist Church.

DOROTHY E. (MCCALLUM) VIEAU
Dorothy E. "Dottie" (McCallum) Vieau, 72, of Troy, formerly of Rochester, died June 4, 2002. She was better known as Detroit's "Teresa Brewer."
Mrs. Vieau was an accomplished singer and pianist and she painted and crocheted Dresden Dolls.
Mrs. Vieau was a member of the WOTM, Avon-Rochester Lodge 409 and loved going to garage sales.
She is survived by her husband, Alex Vieau; daughters, Kathryn Martin, Vicki Phillips, and Loreen Spanos; sons, Steven Vieau, Lance Vieau, John Vieau and Kevin Vieau; sister, Billie Rose; brothers, Fred, Harry, and Jr.
Funeral services were held June 7 at Potere-Modetz Funeral Home, Rochester.

STELLA MAE CHAPMAN
Stella Mae Chapman, 74, of Troy, formerly of Royal Oak, died June 11, 2002, at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. She was born May 25, 1928, in Ashland, Ky.
She was a nurse's aide and retired in 1982 after 25 years. Mrs. Chapman was a member of the Troy Ward - Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Mrs. Chapman is survived by her daughters, Bonnie Cundiff of Phoenix, Ariz, and Donna Pacheco of Detroit; William Chapman of Central Lake, Walter Chapman of Flat Rock, Richard Chapman of Troy, and Jesse Cundiff of Troy; sisters, Lydia Keelin of Rochester Hills, Jay Crisp of Arnton, Ohio and Lucy Crisp of Arnton, Ohio; brothers, Charlie Crisp of Arnton, Ohio and Milard Crisp of Ocala, Fla.; and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services were held June 14, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Interment was at Christian Memorial Cemetery, Rochester Hills.

JOAN MARIE RASTENBURG 
Joan Marie "Joanie" Rastenburg, 40, of Troy, died June 12, 2002, at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. She was born March 26, 1962, in Highland Park.
Ms. Rastenburg attended school in Bloomfield Hills and was a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Clawson.
She loved books, music and animals. 
Ms. Rastenburg is survived by her mother, Mary E. Rastenburg of Troy; sibling, Tracie Rastenburg of Troy; and her dog, Angel.
Funeral services were held June 15 at Price Funeral Home, Troy.
Interment was at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.

DOROTHY MAE O'BRIEN
Dorothy Mae O'Brien, 83, of West Bloomfield, died June 14, 2002, at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. She was born Aug. 22, 1918, in Detroit.
She was a homemaker and a volunteer for Hospice of Southeast Michigan and Lourdes Nursing Home, Waterford. Mrs. O'Brien was also a member and volunteer at St. Colman Catholic Church, Farmington Hills.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Harper of Stow, Ohio and Suzanne O'Brien of Allen Park; sons, Patrick O'Brien of Troy, Thomas Michael O'Brien of Detroit and Terry O'Brien of Fenton; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held June 17 at St. Colman Catholic Church.
Burial was at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.

PETE PAUL BENAGLIO
Pete Paul Benaglio, 81, of Troy, formerly of Detroit, died June 21, 2002, at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Pontiac. He was born May 18, 1921, in Lovere, Italy.
He retired in 1989 as a tool and die maker following 47 years of service at TRW in Sterling Heights. Mr. Benaglio was currently employed by Nino Salvaggio's in Troy.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II and a former volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
Mr. Benaglio loved hunting, gardening, dancing, baseball and hockey.
He is survived by his wife, Florence; daughter, Cynthia L. Benaglio of Lincoln Park; son, Peter J. Benaglio of Clawson; brother, Robert Benaglio of Dryden; and two grandchildren.,
Funeral services were held June 25 at Price Funeral Home, Troy.
Interment was at Acacia Park Cemetery, Southfield Township.

PARROM OWEN JR.
Parrom Owen Jr., 81, of Troy, formerly of Detroit, died June 24, 2002, at William Beaumont Hospital, Troy. He was born Dec. 28, 1920, in Wingo, Ky. 
Mr. Owen retired as a millwright in 1990 following 36 years with Budd Co. in Detroit.
He was a member of UAW local 1102, as well as a Shriner, a Mason for the Masonic Temple, and a member of the Scottish Rites. Mr. Owen was also a member of the Kentucky Colonels, AFPCC, and the Troy Community Center.
He loved gardening, reading, bowling, shooting pool, playing cards and watching sports.
Mr. Owen is survived by his wife, Florence; daughters, Linda Owen of Bloomfield, Katie Owen of Berkley, Jackie Owen of Center Line, Doris Fay Miller of Roseville, Judy Hayes of Romulus and Mary Lawfield of Eastpointe; sons, Donnie Johnson of Troy and Walter Parrom Owen of Delta, Pa.
Funeral services will be held at noon, Friday, June 28, at Price Funeral Home, 3725 S. Rochester Road, Troy.

ORLANDO D. SAAVEDRA SR.
Orlando D. Saavedra Sr., 70, of Troy, formerly of Warren, died June 22, 2002, at William Beaumont Hospital, Troy. He was born Jan. 29, 1932 in Lima, Peru.
Mr. Saavedra was a senior trim technician for General Motors Corp.
He was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Troy and the Peruvian Club of Michigan.
Mr. Saavedra is survived by his wife, Gaudencia; sons, Orlando Y. Saavedra Jr. of Troy and Irvin Saavedra of Troy; daughters, Lynn Feller of Orchard Lake and Rosario Tyler Shoudy of Chesterfield Twp.; and five brothers and sisters.

META EVELYN CLEMENT
Meta Evelyn Clement, 79, of Rochester Hills, formerly of Troy, died June 26, 2002, at Georgian Bloomfield Nursing Home. She was born Jan. 6, 1923, in Parsboro, Nova Scotia.
She was a retired dietitian for the Michigan Consolidated Gas Co.
Mrs. Clement is survived by her husband, Richard; sons, John and Phil Clement; sister, Elizabeth Markes; and one grandchild.

JOYCE PAULINE MATTHEWS (QUANDT)
Joyce Pauline Matthews (Quandt), 71, of Rochester Hills, died June 27, 2002, at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. She was born Oct. 8,1930, in Hazel Park. 
Mrs. Matthews loved to be with her family, crossword puzzles and Bingo.
She is survived by her husband, Robert W. Matthews; sons, Robert M. Matthews of Lancaster, Pa., Ronald D. Matthews of Moreno Valley, Calif. and Douglas E. Matthews of Farwell, Mich.; daughter, Susan K. Riesterer of Troy; sisters, Joann Averso of Clawson, Lorraine Ruffles of Royal Oak and Bernadine Pastori of McMillian; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

MICHAEL RAYMOND LYNN
Michael Raymond Lynn, 51, of Auburn Hills died June 24, at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak. He was born Oct. 10, 1950, in Pontiac.
Mr. Lynn was proprietor of Michael's of Troy for 27 years. He was a former member of the Kiwanis Club of Troy and was active in the Boys & Girls Club of Troy and Toys for Tots.
Mr. Lynn loved golf and the Detroit Lions.
He is survived by his fiance, Lisa Petersen; daughter, Stacey Lynn of Chicago, Ill.; son, Robert Lynn of Warren; mother, Betty Hildebrandt of Auburn Hills; and brother, Robert Lynn of Auburn Hills.

PATRICK MICHAEL BELKNAP
Patrick Michael Belknap, 24, of Troy, died July 8, 2002, at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. 
He was born Dec. 9, 1977, and was a student at the University of Maine. 
Mr. Belknap is survived by his mother, Sue A. Belknap; father, Robert F. Belknap; brothers, Thomas Belknap and William Belknap; sister, Camille Belknap; and grandparents, William E. and Ruth G. Krebs.

MARTIN DOCTOROFF
Judge Martin Doctoroff, 69, of Troy, died July 9, 2002, at his home. 
He was born Jan. 27, 1933, in Cambridge, Mass. He had recently retired from the Michigan Court of Appeals, where he had served since 1987. 
Mr. Doctoroff graduated from Harvard in 1954 and received his law degree from the University of Michigan in 1957. He became a special agent for the FBI after graduation and from 1960-80 was in private practice as a partner in the firm of Bellinson & Doctoroff, a partner in the firms of Bellinson, Doctoroff & Wartell and Zussman, Doctoroff & Wartell and a senior partner in the law firm of Bushnell, Gage, Doctoroff & Reizen.
Mr. Doctoroff is survived by his sons, Daniel L., Mark H., Andrews S. and Thomas D.; two brothers; and seven grandchildren. 
A funeral service was held July 11 at the Ira Kaufman Chapel in Southfield. Burial was Beth El Memorial Park in Livonia.

William Francis Brown
William Francis Brown, 77, of Troy, died July 29, 2002, at Clare Bridge of Troy. He was born Aug. 17, 1924.
Mr. Brown retired in 1988 from Hoover Tool & Die, Warren, where he was a tool and die maker. He belonged to UAW Local 155 and served on the Building Authority and the Parks and Recreation Commission in Troy. 
Mr. Brown loved genealogy, working on cars, wood carving, building and mechanics.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a former little league coach in Troy.
Mr. Brown is survived by his second wife, Doris Elaine Brown; sons, Larry W. Brown of Caro, Kerry J. Brown of Troy and Dan P. Brown of Shelby Township; daughter, Jan L. Brown of Sterling Heights; stepdaughters, Gayl M. Hill of Harbor Beach and Carol A. Demis of Owosso; and stepson, Mark L. LaValley of Grosse Pointe; sister, Thelma Trawnikar of Warren; brother, Edward Brown Jr. of San Diego, Calif.; 21 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-noon, today, Thursday, Aug. 1, at Price Funeral Home, 3725 S. Rochester Road, Troy. 
Funeral services will be held at noon, today, at the funeral home.
Interment is at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.

Ronald Mark Stachura
Ronald Mark Stachura, 54, of Troy, died July 26, 2002, at Bloomfield Hills Care Center, Bloomfield Township. He was born Aug. 15, 1947, in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Mr. Stachura was vice president of finance at Chathams Supermarkets, Warren.
He was a member of St. Anastasia Catholic Church, Troy and a former member of the Clawson-Troy Elks Club.
Mr. Stachura is survived by his wife, Judith Ann; sons, James of Troy and Jason of Royal Oak; mother, Laura Stachura of Pittsburgh; sisters, Eleanor Gabrys of Bloomfield Hills and Delores Markle of Pittsburgh.
Funeral services were held July 30 at St. Anastasia Catholic Church.
