ANNA M. BAJEK

Services for Anna Michele Bajek, 18, of Farmington, were held July 2 at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home in Farmington with the Sister Beverly Hinson officiating. Burial took place at Parkview Memorial Cemetery in Livonia.

Miss Bajek was born April 6, 1984 in Detroit and died June 28, 2002 at Children's Hospital in Detroit. She attended Farmington Public Schools and graduated from Harrison High School. She received the Presidential Award for Scholastic Excellence.

She is survived by her parents, Edward and Janice Bajek; sister, Sarah; grandparents, Murray and Reta King and Nellie Bajek; aunts and uncles, Mary Ann (John) Tracey, Robert (Connie) Bajek and Gary (Eleanor) King; several cousins; and many special friends at Children's Hospital. She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Edward Bajek.

HENRY C. LUM

Services for Henry Charles Lum, 80, of Novi, were held July 6 at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home in Farmington.

Mr. Lum was born July 3, 1921, in Detroit and died July 1, 2002 at Providence Hospital in Novi. He was the owner/operator of the Great Wall of China Restaurant in Farmington. He was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Kit; sons, Sterling (Jessica) and Tertius; daughter, Sempre (Tony) Andrews; brother, Howard Lim; and grandchildren, Brandon, Darius, Osric and Dylan.

STEPHANIE L. BAKER

Private services were held for Stephanie Lynn Baker, 26, of Farmington.

Ms. Baker was born Aug. 8, 1975 and died July 1, 2002. She graduated from Farmington High School in 1993. She is survived by her mother, Bonnie (Dwight) Comer; father, David Baker; stepfather, David Shank; and sister Jennifer Shank.

MARY C. MORGAN

Services for Mary Catherine Morgan, 79, formerly of Farmington, were held July 1 at Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home in Farmington with the Rev. Frederick Klettner officiating. Burial took place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.

Mrs. Morgan was born June 6, 1923 in Detroit and died June 27, 2002 at Heritage - Oakwood Hospital in Taylor. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her grandson, Timothy Fenner; and several other grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, William, daughter, Julia Fenner and son, William.

NORMAN B. LAWTON 

A memorial service Norman Ballard Lawton, 88, of East Jordan, will be held 1:30 p.m. Saturday, July 13, at the Big Pines in Luzerne, Mich.

Mr. Lawton was born June 25, 1914 in Athol, Mass., and died June 29, 2002 in Charlevoix. He attended the University of Michigan, studied engineering for three years, and was a member of Theta Chi fraternity. He was also a long distance runner, both in high school and college. 

On March 9, 1938, he married Helen Virginia Shearer in Detroit, his high school sweetheart. For 40 years, they couple resided in the Southfield/ Farmington area. 

Mr. Lawton assumed the presidency of Star Cutter Company in 1945 which had been started by his father Howard and Frank Burgess in 1927. Under his guidance, Star Cutter grew from 10 original employees to over 900 with plants in several states, becoming a world leader in the machine cutting tool industry. 

He is survived by his children, Marcia L. (David) Kalayjian, Bradley L. (Nancy) Lawton, Dee L. (Gregg) Smith,; and Michelle L. (Todd) Swank; sister, Dorothy L. Guilbert; grandchildren Kristin, Kim, Kevin, Jeff, Bryan, Julie, Markelle, Joelle and Kendalle; and 11 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Helen, sister Vivian Stanley and brother Leonard Lawton and one son, Gary L. Lawton.

BETTIE D. EMMERSON

A memorial service for Bettie D. Emmerson, 81, of Farmington Hills, will be held at 3 p.m. today, July 11, at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home in Farmington with the Rev. Kurt Stutz officiating. 

Mrs. Emmerson was born Sept. 20, 1920 in Calumet, Mich. and died June 23, 2002 at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills. She worked as a retail salesperson and enjoyed reading and gardening.

She is survived by her daughter, Gail Emmerson. She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Richard Emmerson.

ROMAN GAWLOWSKI

Services for Roman Gawlowski, 84, of Farmington, will be held at 10 a.m. today, July 11, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Farmington with burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.

Mr. Gawlowski was born Aug. 5, 1917 in Waterbury, Conn. and died July 7, 2002 at Botsford Commons in Farmington Hills. He was a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Mary "Joanne"; sons, Patrick, Bill (Jeri), the Rev. Fr. Michael and the Rev. Fr. Paul; and sisters, in-law, Julie and Ethel Gawlowski.

LYMAN W. WARNOCK

Services for Lyman W. Warnock, 67, of Brighton, were held July 9 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Brighton with burial at Calvary Cemetery in Brighton.

Mr. Lyman was born Dec. 10, 1934 in Mount Pleasant and died July 4, 2002 at University Hospitals in Ann Arbor. He was an industrial arts teacher with the Farmington School District for many years. He was also a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Brighton.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia; and sons, Mark and David. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.

JAMES F. ROBERTS

A memorial service for James Frank Roberts, 47, of Farmington, will be held July 21.

Mr. Roberts served in the U.S. Navy for nine years and received many medals and commendations.

He is survived by his daughter, Rhonda; parents, Ronald and Lois Roberts; sister, Gayle Roberts Krupin; brothers, Ronald (Rhonda), Steven (Barbara), Brian and Michael; five nieces; six nephews; and one great niece.

Mildred M. Potts

Services for Mildred May Potts, 84, of Farmington Hills, were held July 27 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Walled Lake with the Rev. Lawrence Kimme officiating. Burial took place at Oakland Hills in Novi.

Mrs. Potts was born June 3, 1918 in Falconer, N.Y. and died July 23, 2002 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. She worked in food service for Southfield Public Schools.

She is survived by her sons, John (Pamela) and David (Daria); daughter, Betty Jean Stevenson; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband John.

Winifred A. Brooks

Services for Winifred Ada Brooks, 93, of Farmington Hills, were held July 25 at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home in Farmington. 

Mrs. Brooks was born April 25, 1909 in England and died July 22, 2002 at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills. She worked as a sales clerk for S.S. Kresge during the 1940s and 1950s and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Patriarch Militant. She was also past president and past assembly chaplain of Rebecca's Garden City Lodge #522.

She is survived by her son, Robert; daughter, Barbara (Dale) Campbell; sisters, Jane Davies and Joan Jones; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Erwin.

Veryl H. Sundberg-Martenson

Services for Veryl Harriett Sundberg-Martenson, 88, of Farmington, were held July 25 at Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home in Farmington with the Rev. Jack Baker officiating. Burial took place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.

Mrs. Sundberg-Martenson was born April 21, 1914 in East Lake, Mich. and died July 20, 2002 at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty Collis; grandchildren, Christy Collins and Paul (Karen) Collis; great-grandchildren, Toby and Holly Collis; and brothers, Eldon and Carl Sundberg. She is preceded in death by her husband, Johan.

Ethyline R. Feeley

Services for Ethyline Rita Feeley, 77, of Novi, were held July 22 at Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home in Farmington.

Mrs. Feeley was born Dec. 31, 1924 in Detroit and died July 19, 2002 in Novi. She worked in retail.

She is survived by her husband Robert; children, Robert (Sandy), Susan (Don) Ylitalo and Karen Konopaski (Mike); brother, Stanley Dietrich; and grandchildren, Sheri (Steve), Kelly (Nate), Robbie and Rebecca. She is preceded in death by her granddaughter Brandi.

Daniel S. Totzkay

Services for Daniel Stephen Totzkay, 48, of Livonia, were held July 30 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Farmington with the Rev. Ron Brown officiating. Burial took place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.

Mr. Totzkay was born July 4, 1954 in Detroit and died July 26, 2002 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.

He is survived by his son, Daniel; daughter, Nicole; mother, Irene; brothers, James (Cathy) and Raymond (Karen); sisters, Marilyn (Robert) Gilman and Carole (Robert) Sitar; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, George.

Delpha L. O'Hara

Services for Delpha L. O'Hara, 84, of Farmington Hills, were held July 29 at Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home in Farmington with the Rev. Fred Froman officiating. Burial took place at Oakland Hills Memorial Gardens in Novi. 

Mrs. O'Hara was born Dec. 11, 1917 and died July 27, 2002, at Hospice Home in Farmington Hills. She was married in Kentucky in 1940.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
 

Jessie Thomas

Services for Jessie Thomas, 97, of Farmington Hills, were held July 30 at Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home in Farmington with the Rev. Christopher Welch officiating.

Mrs. Thomas was born April 2, 1905 and died July 23, 2002 at Heartland Health Care Center. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her son, Robert (Shirley); sister, Sabrina Mazur; daughter-in-law, Terry Thomas; grandchildren, Joseph, Laurie, Lawrence, Michael, and Lynne; and great-grandchildren, Ryan, Jason, Kimberly, Zachary, Cameron and Lauren. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph and son Lawrence.
 

Robert F. Bunker

Services for Robert Franklin Bunker, 73, of Farmington Hills, will be held at 10 a.m. today, Aug. 1, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Farmington with the Msgr. Walter Hurley officiating. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield. 

Mr. Bunker was born Aug. 16, 1928 in Melrose, Mass. and died July 28, 2002 at Detroit Receiving Hospital. He was a volunteer at Providence Hospital in Novi and delivered Meals on Wheels as well.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne; sons, Brian (Claire) and Donald (Holly); daughter, Carol (Rob) Sogard; brother, John (Elaine); and four grandchildren.

Evelyn M. Gould

Evelyn M. Gould, 83, of Livonia, died July 28, 2002 at Heartland Health Care Center in Livonia.

Mrs. Gould was born Aug. 7, 1918 in Detroit. She worked as an assembly worker for Mills Products and was a member of St. William Catholic Church in Walled Lake.

She is survived by her sons, Ronald (Irene) Price, William (Stephanie) Price and Dennis (Yumay) Price; brother, Leonard Bulchak; sister, Pat Cwick; and five grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Clarence.

John P. Donohue Jr.

Services for John P. Donohue Jr., 84, of Farmington Hills, were held July 31 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Farmington with the Msgr. Walter Hurley officiating. Burial took place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.

Mr. Donohue was born April 30, 1918 in Detroit and died July 27, 2002 at Botsford Continuing Care Center in Farmington Hills. He worked as a bank trust officer and was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary; sons, John (Nancy) and James (Karen); daughters, Suzanne (David) Huberty and Patricia (Edward) Orr; and grandchildren, Mark, John Keara, John, James, Brian, Casey and Patrick.
