LINDA L. RAINFORD 

A memorial service for Linda L. Rainford, 59, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 15, at Salem United Church of Christ in Farmington. 

Mrs. Rainford was born Oct. 3, 1942 in Hammond, Ind. and died March 31. After marrying her high school sweetheart in Lake Village, Ind., they raised their family in Michigan. 

She earned a degree from Eastern Michigan University in 1976 and became a dedicated teacher who touched and guided many young lives. Her love of the stage brought joy and laughter to many more through her numerous chorus and theater performances. She fulfilled her dream of retiring with her husband to Chandler, Ariz. in 1998. 

She is survived by husband Ken; son, Alan (Denise); daughter, Julie (Brian) Grow; grandchildren Shelby, Brooke, Allison and Holly; parents, Tunis and Wynelle Parks; mother-in-law, Stella Rainford; sister, Judy Potts (Lee); sister-in-law, Marilyn Bremner (Darryl). She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Russell Rainford.

JEROME F. HOCKLE

Services for Jerome Francis Hockle, 86, of Northville, were held April 9 at St. Gerald Catholic Church in Farmington with the Rev. John Menner officiating.

Mr. Hockle was born Feb. 23, 1915 and died April 7 at Cambridge Healthcare Center in Beverly Hills, Mich.

He is survived by his daughter, Paula (Jeff) Kirsh; nephew, Rich (Sherry) Hockle; special friend, Helen Johnson; and three grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Wilma.

STEVEN J. DULKA JR.

Services for Steven J. Dulka Jr., 72, of Livonia, were held April 9 at Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home in Farmington with the Rev. John Maki officiating. 

Mr. Dulka was born Oct. 18, 1929 and died April 6. He worked for a tool and die company.

He is survived by his children, Denise Sherman, Stevie Joe, Donna (Thomas) Yakes, Tammy La Montagne, Mary De Fillipi, Kevin (Elizabeth) and Brett; mother, Mary Dulka; sister, Dorothy Forrest; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Eva.

JUNE THOMPSON

Services for June Thompson, 84, of Farmington Hills, will be held at 10:30 a.m. today, April 11, at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home in Farmington with the Rev. Sue Ellis Melrose officiating. Burial will take place at White Chapel Cemetery in Troy.

Mrs. Thompson was born June 27, 1917 in Detroit and died April 8 in Farmington Hills. She was a member of Questep, Briarhill Book Club Guild and Alpha Iota Sorority. She enjoyed reading, gardening and embroidering.

She is survived by her son, Bernard (Christine); daughters, Marcia Moyer and Kim Thompson-Stewart; and seven grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Bernard.

AUDREY L. SCHAFT

Services for Audrey Louise Schaft, 70, of White Lake, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 19, at Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home in Farmington with the Rev. Mark Frost officiating. Burial will take place at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia. Visitation will be held 2-9 p.m. today, April 18, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Schaft was born May 1, 1931, in Ecorse and died April 15, 2002, at Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital in Commerce Township. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughter, Marilyn (Terry) Meyers; grandsons, Terry Jr. and Trent; great-granddaughter, Ollia; brothers, Clyde and Clifford Coffee; and sisters Wilma Toevs and Marcia Bone. She is preceded in death by her husband Charles and sister Doris Ola Gean.

LILLIAN B. BJORKLUND

Services for Lillian B. Bjorklund, 86, of Farmington Hills, will be held at 11 a.m. today, April 18, in the chapel of Nardin Park United Methodist Church in Farmington Hills. 

Mrs. Bjorklund died April 15, 2002.

She is survived by her children, Dale (Brenda) Bjorklund and Carol Ann Stallings; and grandchildren, David and Jonathan Bjorklund and Amanda Gray. She is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold.

JERRY J. DEGUIRE

Services for Jerry J. DeGuire, 74, of Farmington Hills, were held April 16 at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home in Farmington with the Rev. Leonard Partensky officiating.

Mr. DeGuire was born Feb. 22, 1928, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada and died April 12, 2002, at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills. He worked as an optician for Eye Care Associates for 25 years and was a Korean War veteran. He was a volunteer fireman for Farmington Hills. 

He is survived by his wife, Pat; daughter, Stacy DeGuire; sons, Brian and Greg (Amy); and four grandchildren.

CASIMER C. WESOLOWSKI

Services for Casimer C. Wesolowski, 79, of Farmington Hills, were held April 16 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Farmington with the Rev. Robert La Croix officiating. Burial took place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit.

Mr. Wesolowski was born Jan. 10, 1923, in Blossburg, Pa. and died April 12, 2002, at Botsford Continuing Care Center in Farmington Hills. He was a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by his brother-in-law William (Theresa) Ponkowski. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dolores.

ANTHONY T. GOODLESKY

Services for Anthony Thomas Goodlesky, 84, of Farmington, were held April 13 at St. Gerald Catholic Church in Farmington with the Rev. John Menner officiating.

Mr. Goodlesky was born March 27, 1918 in Coal Center, Pa. and died April 11, 2002, at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills. He worked for Ford Motor Company and was a member of St. Gerald Catholic Church in Farmington.

He is survived by his wife, Florence; son, Kenneth (Cynthia); daughters, Judith (Martin) Kozicki and Margaret "Peggy" (Donald) Marshall; grandchildren, Marty, Kenneth, Craig, William, Sean, Michael and Nicol; great-grandson, Stephen; brother, Leonard (Pauline); and sister, Agnes Couzens.

DEBORAH L. YAGER

Services for Deborah L. Yager, 51, formerly of Farmington Hills, will be held Saturday, April 20, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Blufton, Ind., with the Rev. Stephen Krupa officiating. 

Mrs. Yager was born March 16, 1951, in Detroit and died April 12, 2002, at Dupont Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Ind. She was the president of Berne Furniture Company and was also a real estate broker.

She is survived by her husband, Jay; son, Jason; parents, Viron and Carol Newton; sister, Cathleen Odien; brother, Dennis Newton; and six grandchildren.

HAROLD WASHBURN

Services for Harold Washburn, 71, of Livonia, will be held at 7 p.m. today, April 18, at Kenwood Church of Christ in Livonia.

Mr. Washburn died April 15, 2002.

DOLORIS M. SEXTON

Services for Doloris Mae Sexton, 72, will be held at 11 a.m. today, April 18, at Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home in Farmington.

Mrs. Sexton died April 16, 2002.

She is survived by her daughter, Dalene (Carter) Loudin; grandchildren, Sara and Sabrina Loudin; and brother, Eldon (Carolyn) Dillon.

SR. HELEN MARY MAROUN

Services for Sister Helen Mary Maroun, 72, of Farmington Hills, were held April 16 at St. Alexander Church in Farmington Hills with the Rev. James Wright officiating. Burial took place at New Calvary Cemetery in Flint.

Sister was born March 1, 1930 in Flint and died April 12, 2002, at St. Alexander Convent. She was a Franciscan nun and taught in private schools throughout Michigan and Ohio. She worked as a supervisor/consultant in the Lansing Diocese and in public relations by promoting health care to churches and the community. She also taught English as a second language. Sister loved music and taught herself to play the violin and guitar. 

She is survived by her brothers, Paul (Evelyn) and James Maroun; sister, Mary Sauder; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and the Community of the Sisters of St. Joseph, Third Order of St. Francis.

BRETT R. PIETRYKA

Services for Brett Ryan Pietryka, 8, of Wolverine Lake, were held April 16 at O'Brien/Sullivan Funeral Home in Novi.

Brett died April 14, 2002.

He is survived by his parents, Gina Pietryka and Kenneth and Catherine Pietryka; brother, Brandon; step-father, Chris Tucker; step-brothers, Christopher and Kyle Tucker; grandparents, Raymond and Judith Gargan and Raymond and Lynda Pietryka; great-grandparents, Joan and Walter Pietryka; uncles, James Gargan, Steven Pietryka and Christopher Pietryka; aunt, Joanne Pietryka; and cousins Ryan and Rebecca Pietryka.

FLORA E. BEARDSLEY

Services for Flora E. Beardsley, 98, of Farmington Hills, were held May 3 at Salem United Church of Christ in Farmington with the Rev. John Maki officiating.

Mrs. Beardsley was born Aug. 18, 1903 in Fair Haven, Vt. and died April 29, 2002 in Farmington Hills. She was a member of the Eastern Star Tyrian Chapter #469, Kings Daughters, the YWCA Board of Directors and the Cancer Society. She also did volunteer work for the United Way.

She is survived by her son, Harold Jr. (Virginia); daughter, Ruth Vandoorne; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Harold and son David.

CLARA L. DUFFY

A memorial service for Clara L. Duffy, 89, formerly of Farmington Hills, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 9, at First Presbyterian Church in Farmington with the Rev. Sue Ellis Melrose officiating. 

Mrs. Duffy was born March 26, 1913, in New York, NY and died April 24, 2002 at Crittenton Hospital in Rochester.

She is survived by her son, James (Alice); and grandchildren, Janice, Christopher and Steven. She is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew.

BRUNO J. RYBINSKI

Services for Bruno Joseph Rybinski, 78, of Farmington Hills, will be held at 10 a.m. today, May 2, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Farmington with the Rev. Robert LaCroix officiating. Burial will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Detroit.

Mr. Rybinski was born March 30, 1924 in Detroit and died April 28, 2002 at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills.

He is survived by his wife, Delphine Hejka; sons, Thomas (Lynne), Robert (Leslie), Joseph Hejka, Daniel (Mary) Hejka and Thomas (Karen) Hejka; sisters, Mary Suszek and Rita Obidzinski; brother, Richard; and 10 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Wanda Rybinski.

EMMA DEPOTTEY

Services for Emma DePottey, 94, of Farmington were Monday, April 22 from Lola Park Lutheran Church in Redford.

Mrs. DePottey died April 19. 

Survivors include son Ronald Keith (Carol) Sr., sister Martha Ward and brother Bruno Takala; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Renzo.

ALPHONSE J. DEMERS

A memorial mass for Alphonse Joseph Demers, 77, of Farmington Hills, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 3, at St. Colette Church in Livonia with the Rev. Henry Roodbeen officiating.

Mr. Demers was born March 5, 1925 in Canada and died April 29, 2002 in Farmington Hills. He was self-employed as an electrical contractor.

He is survived by his wife, Marie; son, Phillipe; daughter, Nathalie Demers; and brother, Michel.

MARY DOLENCE

Services for Mary "Mitzi" Dolence, 87, of Novi, were held May 1 at Thayer-Rock Funeral Home in Farmington with the Rev. Leonard Partensky officiating.

Mrs. Dolence was born May 30, 1914 in Pittsburg, Kan. and died April 30, 2002 in Novi. She worked as a supervisor for Awrey Bakeries and was a member of the Slovenian National Benefit Society.

She is survived by her nephew, Michael (Muriel) Adamic; nieces Patricia (William) Smith and Rose Marie (Donald) Fritz; and several great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her first husband Andrew Werholtz and second husband John Dolence.
