JOE AZZOPARDI
of Gregory
Age 77, passed away on Monday, October 8,2001 at Chelsea Community
Hospital in Chelsea. He was born in Sliema, Malta on April 9,1924 the son
of Francis and Ariesta(Saracino)Azzopardi. He has lived in the area since
1978 moving here from Detroit. Joe liked playing Bingo, and working with
tools, his greatest enjoyment was his family, especially his grandchildren.
He married Mary Jane Abela on November 8, 1947 in Malta, and she survives.
He is also survived by his children Tony(Grace) Azzopardi of Petoskey;
Dorothy(Gary) Somervell of Gregory; Mary(Bob)Adams of Stockbridge; Charlene(Mike)
Summers of Stockbridge; and Frank(Terri)Azzopardi of Milan; two brothers
Emmanuel(Deloris)Azzopardi of Livonia; Larry(Blanche)Azzopardi of FL; two
sisters Mary(Charlie)Aguis of Dearborn and Violet Azzopardi of Riverview;
nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death
by his parents. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2001
at 6:00pm at Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home in Stockbridge, with Deacon Dick

Thelma H. Hile
of Stockbridge, MI
Age 83, died October 6, 2001 peacefully at her home under the loving
care of her family. She was born on March 26, 1918 in White Oak Township,
the daughter of Charles and Ora (DeWitt) Strobel. She was a member of Stockbridge
United Methodist Church for many years. She was a care provider for Adults,
and was thought of as a sister to many area ladies. She enjoyed Farming
and Flowers and her garden. On October 2, 1941 she married Carl W. Hile
and he preceded her in death in 1973. Surviving are 2 daughters, Joyce
Sabin of Coldwater, and Mary Lou Griffith of Morgan City Louisiana, and
1 son Leo (Yvonne) Hile of Stockbridge. 3 grandchildren Wayne and Glen
Hile and Marty Jo Wheeler. She was also preceded in death by her parents,
3 brothers, Russel and Myron, and Howard, Strobel and 2 sisters, Vera Hile,
and Irene Strobel. Funeral services will be Tuesday, October 9, 2001 at
1:00 P.M. from the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home, Stockbridge, with Rev
Robert Henning officiating. Burial will follow at Alchins Cemetery, Webberville.

of Munith, Michigan
Age 64, died Wednesday October 3, 2001 at Arbor Hospice Residence.
She was born on April 21, 1937 in Barbourville, KY., the daughter of James
and Kitty Carnes. She had lived in the area Since 1974 and Worked at Farmers
State Bank for 20 plus years. She enjoyed reading and gardening and her
house. Surviving are 2 sons James Hypes of Princeton, West Virginia, and
Ken (Elaine) Hypes of Munith, 1 daughter, Nancy (Keith) Reynolds of Flat
Rock, MI; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will
be Monday October 8, 2001 at 1:00 P.M. at the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home,
Stockbridge with Pastor Edward Eliason Officiating. Burial will follow

Of Muskegon,
Formerly of Gregory, MI
Age 85, died October 2, 2001. She was born on January 17, 1916 in Dansville,
Michigan, the daughter of Roy and Jennie (Smith) DeWitt. On July 10, 1935
she married Clyde Robeson and he preceded her in death in 1998. She had
lived in the Stockbridge area most of her life. She was a member of Gregory
Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star. Surviving are 1 Son Douglas
(Madelyn) Robeson of FL., 2 daughters, Carolyn (Richard) Edstrom of Muskegon,
and Marie (Scott) Wagner of IL. 6 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren,
and 1 sister, Doris Whitefield of Ypsilanti and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by 1 brother, Lester Dewitt. Funeral services
will be Saturday October 6, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. from the Caskey-Mitchell
Funeral Home, Stockbridge. Burial will Follow at the Alchin Cemetery. Expressions

ROBERT W. TOSSEVA
of Stockbridge, Michigan.
Age 76, died October 1, 2001 at his home. He was born on June 23, 1925
in Mohawk, Michigan the son of Benhardt and Sigrid (Lofbakka) Tossava.
Since 1972, he lived in Stockbridge, moving from the Detroit area. He was
a member of the Stockbridge United Methodist Church. On November 7, 1963
he married Laurel Mascotte in Southgate and she survives. Also surviving
are, Brenda Siirila of Lexington, Ky. Laurie Tossava of Lansing, Lauren
(Dennis) Whitt of Stockbridge, and Lauret (Michael) Henry of Otsego, Mi.
2 brothers, Warren Tossava of Redford, MI., and Roy (Jan) Tossava of Negaunee,
Mi.2 sisters, Eva (Wilbert) Suokas of Westland, and Fay Booth of South
Lyon . 3 grandchildren. He was retired from Ford Motor Company in Highland
Park, Mi. In accordance’s with his wishes his body was donated to the University
of Michigan Hospital for Medical Research. Expressions of sympathy can

of Branch County Formerly of Stockbridge, MI
Age 34, died Monday October 1, 2001 at the Community Health Center
in Coldwater. He was born in Jackson, Michigan January 25, 1967 the son
of Lloyd G. and Bonnie (Fletcher) Back. He enjoyed coon hunting with his
father and his family. On August 11, 1982 he married Suzette Bailey and
she survives. Also surviving are 2 sons Joseph Back of Fremont and Chad
Back of Stockbridge. His mother, Bonnie of Jackson, 1 brother, Johnny (Barb)
Back of Stockbridge, 3 sisters, Renee (Bob) Dahlin of Stockbridge, Brenda
(Richard) Clear of Stockbridge, and Linda (Ricky) Williams of Glasgow,
Kentucky. His grandmother Mae Fletcher of Stockbridge, also numerous aunts,
uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Lloyd, Granparents,
Wheeler Fletcher, and Harold and Jessie Back. Funeral services were held
Saturday October 6, 2001 from the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home with the
Rev. Ed Roark officiating. Burial was at Oaklawn Cemetery in Stockbridge.

Joan Vivian Kinch
Jackson, Michigan
Age 69, died Wednesday September 26, 2001 at Foote Hospital. She was
born January 21, 1932 in Jackson, Michigan, the daughter of Lawrence and
Geneva (Tanner) Smith. Joan was member of Sts. Cornelius and Cyprian Catholic
Church. She loved her children, grandchildren, going up north to the cabin,
playing bingo, tending her garden and flowers. She was married in Jackson
on November 21, 1953 to Wendell R. Kinch and he survives. Also surviving
are her children Deborah (Don) Walsh of Pleasant Lake, Denise (Robert)
Connell of Kentucky, Ted (Sandra) Kinch of Pleasant Lake, Edward (Penny)
Kinch of Jackson, Mary (Robert) Lingane of Jackson and Timothy Kinch of
Jackson. Her grandchildren William (Jamie) Clark, Douglas Clark, Jason
LaGow, Georgia (Andy) Grimes, Travis Kinch, Chad Kinch, Amber Marsh, Ashley
Marsh, Amanda Marsh, Jess Walsh, Jason Walsh, Ravenna Connell, and 1 great
grand child on the way. Her sister Shirley Doxtader of Pleasant Lake. She
was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and three sisters. Funeral

Age 74, passed away September 11, 2001 at her special friends house
Duane and Margaret McCann. She was born on November 12, 1926 in Jackson,
Michigan, the daughter of Floyd R. and Margaret L. (Danford). She had lived
in the winter months in Naples, FL, and spent her summers at P.J. Campground.
She had worked for Kelsey Hayes for several years. Cardparty’s, jig saw
Puzzles, and traveling where her favorite pastimes. On January 9, 1972
she married J.B. “Pat” Patton in Stockbridge and he survives, also surviving
are 3 daughters, Sandra (Ted) Morrison of Spring Lake, Beverly Crossman
of Naples, and Sharon (Larry) Barden of Parma. 1 brother, Edward (Mary)
Perkins of Arizona. 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Many nieces
and nephews including Alice Lock of Jackson. She was preceded in death
by 1 daughter, Patsy Mead, 3 brothers, Howard, Virgil and Floyd Perkins,
2 sisters, Marietta Ward, and Louise Morrisey. Memorial services will be

Age 46, passed away Monday, September 3, 2001 in Paintsville, KY. She
was born on January 15,1955 in Mason, MI the daughter of Walter and Alta(Adams)Marshall.
She enjoyed camping, her grandchildren and loved to cook and clean. On
September 23, 1999 she married Steve R. Bedell in Eaton Rapids, MI, and
he survives. She is also survived by her children, Peggy Sue(Doug)Shepherd
of Salyersville, KY; Robbie(Renee)Watkins of Lexington, KY; Patty Watkins
of Rives Junction; step-children Michelle Bedell of Eagle, MI; David Bedell

she enjoyed Acrylic painting, gardening, and especially her grandchildren.
She married James D. Curts on September 15, 1967 and he survives. She is

MI; Jamie(John)Sattler of Dansville; Jill Curts of Jackson; Mandy(Daniel)Mahler
of Gregory; five grandchildren, Tyler, Hunter, Jordynn Pulling and Kourtney,

Died Saturday morning August 11, 2001, She was born April 5, 1921 in
Dickson City,Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of John and Estelle (Griffin)
Davis. Marie had been a resident of Unadilla Twp., since l956 moving from
Dearborn Heights. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Pinckney.
Mrs. Howarth was a member of the Chelsea Hospital Auxiliary,enjoyed playing
pinochle, gardening and going to bingo and winning. She was married to
Allen Howarth Sr. on October 24, 1942 in Pontiac, Michigan and he preceded
her in death in 1991. Surviving are two sons Al (Pam)Howarth of Ann Arbor,
William (Barry) Howarth of Gregory, Mich., Three grandchildren, six great
grandchildren. Two sisters Helen Horrocks and Jean Scott and a brother
John (Theresa) Davis all of Pennsylvania. Her special companion Ralph Sharkey
of Chelsea. She was preceded in death by her daughter Deborah Howarth in

Age 72 passed away August 6,2001 at Stockbridge Country Manor in Stockbridge.
He was born November 6, 1928 in Detroit, MI the son of Andrew J. and Mary(Ulicsni)Kolevar.
He served in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict, he enjoyed traveling,
fixing things and entertaining people. He married Lois Liberty on August
5, 1950 and she survives. He is also survived by his children, Kieran(Tony)Shaughnessy
of Jackson; Mark(Audrey)Kolevar of Jackson; Kris(Clare)Kolevar of Ann Arbor;
three sisters, Marion(Jerry)Miley of Troy; Pat(Len) Richard of Naples,
FL; and Rosemarie(Bob)Ward of Battle Creek; four grandchildren and several
nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by both parents.

Age 65, passed away Thursday, August 2, 2001 at Ingham Regional Medical
Care Center, Green Lawn Campus in Lansing. She was born on November 19,
1935 in Muse, Pennsylvania the daughter of James M. and Frances E. (Rukas)
Garrett. She had lived in the area since 1970, and ran the Novak Family
Restaurant. On February 14, 1957 she married Edward Forbes, and he preceded
her in death on July 29, 1997. Surviving are four children Chester (Lisa)
Forbes of Munith, Allison Oakley (Brian Mead) of Mason, Lisa (Brett) Kelley
of Dansville and Edward Forbes (Linda Wardell) of Pleasant Lake, and seven
grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Richard
and Leonard Garrett. Memorial services will be Wednesday, August 8, 2001

Age 74, went to be with her Lord, Saturday June 23, 2001 at Foote Hospital,
Jackson. Rebecca was born May 1, 1927 in Breathitt County, Kentucky, the
daughter of Green and Ella Fair (Hensley) Pitts. She was the devoted wife
of Elwood "Mac" McGlothen until his death August 16, 1997. They were married
on November 27, 1947 in Jackson, Kentucky; She was a member of Jeruel Baptist
Church and was a deeply religious Christian, who enjoyed listing to Christian
music and reading the Bible. Her family was her life, Rebecca was the strength
and center of her family and a friend to everyone she met. Surviving are
her five children Dan (Paula) McGlothen of Gregory, Betty McGlothen of
Jackson, Leoma Whitaker of Munith, Ella Connell of Munith and Glenn (Christy)
McGlothen of Rives Junction, 12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren,
her sisters Betty Craft of Pleasant Lake, MI; Georgia (Ed) Keith of Jackson,
Inetta Craig of Louisville, Ky., a special sister in law and friend Eva
Pitts of Bunkerhill, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded
in death parents, a grand son David Allen, two brothers R.B. Pitts, Bill
Craft, four sisters Sara Pitts, Hattie Craft, Opal Perkins, and Hallabee
Pitts. When she opened her door she always greeted you with a smile; she

George Thomas “Red” Kelley
of Stockbridge Age 70, passed away July 2, 2001 at Ingham Regional
Medical Facility in Lansing. He was born on August 12,1930 in Stockbridge,
Michigan the son of Earl and Martha(Syer)Kelley. He has lived in the area
all his life, he retired after 40 years of employment with Oldsmobile Motor
Company. He was a member of The House of Prayer in Haslett, he served in
the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, and was a member for
34 years of MacKinder-Glenn American Legion Post 510 of Stockbridge. Red
married Aletha E. Bullard on March 20,1979 and she preceded him in death
on December 22, 2000. He is survived by one son Donald(Connie)Kelley of
Oklahoma; two daughters Dee Kelley, Val Kelley both of Lansing; four step-children
Vicky Duran of Lansing; Barry(Debbie)Murphy of Harrison,Mi; Denis(Teri)Murphy
of Mt Pleasant, MI; and Rolla ”Jack”(Toni)Murphy of Stockbridge, 8 grandchildren
and 3 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and

Passed away Thursday, June 28,2001,at Stockbridge Country Manor at
the age of 100. She was born April 27,1901 in Ballard County, Kentucky
the daughter of Clint and Ruby (Lewis) Haggard. She and her husband Gordon
who preceded her in death in September 1985,managed and operated the Rural
Telephone Company for many years. She was also preceded in death by three
children Dixie Marie, Leon, Donald(Sparky), and son-in-law Howard Ward.
She is survived by two daughters Bette Lou Ward of Stockbridge and Willie
Mae(Dan) Barnard, and a daughter-in-law Sy Keeper both of Inverness, FL.
one brother Raymond Haggard of Wickenburg, AZ., 11 grandchildren,15 great-grandchildren
and numerous great-great-grandchildren. Private graveside services will
be held at a later date at Oaklawn Cemetery in Stockbridge. Expressions

WILLIAM R. SNAY
Of Munith
Age 59, Died Friday afternoon June 15, 2001 at University of Michigan
Hospital. He was born January 17, 1942 in Chelsea, the son of William and
Elizabeth (Montaque) Snay. Mr. Snay had formerly lived in Chelsea and had
resided in Munith since l970. He retired from Dana Corp. in 1995. Mr. Snay
enjoyed collecting John Deere collectibles and tractors. He was a member
of the Moose Lodge of ClearLake. He was married in Ubly, Michigan on February
4, 1967 to Lillian M. Gretch and she survives. Also surviving is his son
Todd W. (Beth) Snay of Jackson, three grandchildren Ashley Nicole, Jessica
Chrystal and Jonathan Michael Snay. Three sisters Harriet Tanner of Hamburg,Mich.,
Betty Tanner of Grass Lake, Eva Kircher of Ann Arbor, his brother Herman
(Josephine) Snay of Saline and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded
in death by his son Christopher Michael Snay and a brother E. J. Snay.

Walter J. Maitland
Pinckney, Michigan
Age 84, died Thursday evening June 14, 2001 at Stockbridge Country
Manor. He was born July 15, 1916 in Leroy, Michigan the son of James and
Gladys (McColley) Maitland. Mr. Maitland had been a resident of Unadilla
Twp. for 30 years. He was a member of Lakeland Trails Baptist Church. Walter
was retired from the Brighton Public Schools. Walter loved old tractors
especially Farmalls and Allis Chalmers. He was a veteran of WW 11 serving
in the US Army. He also enjoyed gardening and liked to fish and hunt. He

Of Stockbridge, Michigan
Age 62, passed away Thursday June 7, 2001 at the Chelsea Community
Hospital. She was born on July 26, 1938 in Jackson, Michigan, the daughter
of Ardell and Zelma (Hyde) Fauser. She had lived in Stockbridge area for
the past 35 years coming from Dexter. She was a member of the Stockbridge
Church of Christ, and worked for St. Joseph Mercy Hospital for 33 years
and retired in 1996. She enjoyed reading, crosswords, and was a master
of Scrabble. Most of all, she loved her family and her grandchildren. On
July 21, 1956 she married Bobby R. Long in Indiana, and he survives. Also
surviving are 4 children, Janet Long and her significant other Beth Williams
of Jackson, Dana (Loran) Hyden of Napoleon, David (Michelle) Long and Sandra
(James) Craft, all of Stockbridge; 1 brother, Fred (Carol) Fauser of Dexter,
and 1 sister Linda (Milt) Potter of Kalkaska; 12 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Frederick Robert Long,
and her daughter, Rebecca Corrine Long. Funeral services will be Monday

Orson A. Beeman Sr.
Of Chelsea, Michigan
Age 88, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2001 at Chelsea Community Hospital.
He was born on April 19,1913 in Lyndon Township, MI the son of Alva and
Helen (Collins) Beeman. He has lived at this 6th generation Centennial
Farm all of his life. He was a member of the Waterloo United Methodist
Church, Farm Bureau, Michigan Milk Producers Association, and was Supervisor
of Lyndon Township for many years. He enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, and
in his younger years trapping. He worked for U of M for many years. On
October 20, 1936 he married Daisy P. Smith in Minnesota and she preceded
her in death on June 9, 1994. He is survived by his son Orson "Sonny" (Mary
Ann) Beeman Jr. of Chelsea; two daughters Ruth (Leonard) Hafner of Chelsea;
Olive Marie (Dale) Cooper of Clare; his grandchildren Leonard (Sue) Hafner
Jr., Leslee Hafner; Maleeya (Scott) Postma; Linda (Gary) McCalla; Malissa
(Bruce) Miller; Orson "Luck" Beeman, and David Beeman, his great-grandchildren,
Harley, Joshua, Michael, John, Willy, Ben, Jesse Rose, Marcy, Daniel, Holly;
and two sisters Mildred Carty, and Luella Beeman both of Jackson, also
several nieces, nephew and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents,
a son David E. Beeman, grandson Willy Morley, a brother Norman Beeman.

Woodrow Patrick
Of Munith, MI
Age 88, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2001 at Foote Hospital. He was
born on May 12, 1913 in Meniffe County, Kentucky the son of Alvin and Bertha
(Bailey) Patrick. He lived and worked in the area since 1953. He spent
20 years on the Dixon Farm as a Storage Boss. On January 17, 1935 he married
Artie Wallen , and she preceded him in death in January 2001. He enjoyed
gardening, farming, and hunting in Kentucky in his early days, and raising
his children and watching his grandchildren grow. Surviving are his eight
children Tessie Warrens of Muntih, Bobby (Sharon) Patrick of Clarkston,
Glessie (Garlen) Warrens of Munith, Bertha Phelan of Grass Lake, Leonard
(Linda) Patrick of Litchfield, Janice (Jimmy) Elliott of Munith, Jerry
(Pam) Patrick of Jackson, and Jeanette (Wes) Gipe of Munith; also one brother
Monroe Patrick of Homer, MI; 18 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, Terry, two brothers, and six sisters.

Maxine Roepcke
of Adrian, formerly of Stockbridge, Mi.
Age 90, died April 22, 2002 at Adrian Healthcare Center. She was born
on February 28, 1912 in Stockbridge, Michigan the daughter of Louis and
Mary (Palmer) Walz. Maxine had moved to Florida in 1979 then moved back
to Michigan in 1996. A member of the Presbyterian church of Brooklyn. A
former Member of Stockbridge Presbyterian Church, and also former Council
member as well. Stockbridge Township Treasure for 11 years Retiring in
1972. On March 7, 1931 she married Louis B. Roepcke in Jackson and he preceded
her in death on January 26, 1981. Surviving are 1 daughter Pauline (Robert)
Bruestle of Manchester, 9 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She
was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Mary Louise Gillespie, 2 brothers
and 1 sister. Funeral Services will be Thursday April 25, 2002 at 11:00
A.M. from the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home, Stockbridge, with Rev. Jeffrey

Herbert L. Dickinson
of Stockbridge, MI
Age 71, passed away Tuesday evening April 2, 2002 at U of M Hospital
in Ann Arbor, MI. He was born on May 9,1930 in Jackson, MI the son of Ernest
and Emma(Faist)Dickinson. Herb has lived in the area all his life and was
a member of Stockbridge United Methodist Church for over 60 years, of which
he served on the pastoral committee and church trustee. He was past worshipful
master of Masonic Lodge, past worthy patron of Leslie Order of Eastern
Stars, past president of Stockbridge Lions Club of which he received the
Melvin Jones Award, past president of Hawaiian Village Inc, of Florida,
served on Leslie City council, was a Board member of Stockbridge Village
Council, First Assistant Fire Chief of Stockbridge and was a volunteer
at Stockbridge Area Ambulance. Herb was a Car salesman for Bob’s Ford for
20 years retiring in 1992, was original co-owner builder of D&D Lanes,
also owned and managed Herb’ Sinclair Service Station in Stockbridge. His
enjoyment was hunting, fishing, golf, watching kids play basketball, and
especially his family. He married Joyce J. Taylor on August 18, 1950 in
Leslie, MI. and she survives. Also surviving are his children Thomas(Kim)Dickinson
of Lansing; Todd(Sue)Dickinson of Pinckney; Edie(Jerry)Kingsley of Chelsea;
one sister Ernestine Parrish of Jackson, one brother Robert(Jeanette)Dickinson
of Alpena; sister-in-law Jocille Dickinson of Stockbridge; brother-in-law
Charles Thompson of Stockbridge, and six grandchildren. He was preceded
in death by his parents, two brothers Howard and E. Donald Dickinson, two
sisters Helen Thompson and Rose Dancer. Funeral services will be held Saturday,

Age 47, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2002. She was born April 29,
1954 in Jackson, MI. the daughter of Robert and Frances(Ruggles)Cole. She
was a member of Plainfield United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening
and her flower beds. Sharon married Warren Krueger Jr. on November 17,
1973, in Fowlerville and he survives, also surviving, her mother of Stockbridge.
Three sons Ryan Krueger of Farmington Hills; Eric Krueger(Jocelyn Lundgoot)
of Howell; Warren Krueger III, of East Lansing; three brothers, Robert

Hospital. She was born July 10, 1939 in Salyersville, Kentucky the daughter
of Randolph and Alma(Houston)Allen. She was a charter member of Good Shepherd
Mission in Stockbridge. She enjoyed collecting dolls and clocks, reading,
puzzles and her strawberry garden. ON July 17, 1954 she married Carl B.
Fletcher in Unadilla and he survives. She is survived by her children Rick
Fletcher of Stockbridge; Pamela(Tony)Schoening of Asheboro,NC; Craig(Theresa)Fletcher
of Battle Creek; Nick(Angie)Fletcher of West Lafayette, IN; Jeffery(Robin)Fletcher

three brothers Garland(Helen)Allen of Stockbridge; Danny Allen of Jackson;

Age 49, died Saturday March 23, 2002 at Chelsea Community Hospital.
He was born on January 26, 1953 in Stockbridge, the son of Carl and Josephine
(Elliott) Barker. Kim had lived in the area all his life and enjoyed playing
pool, Harley motor cycles, and his granddaughter. On October 21, 1972 he
married Judy K. Webb in Stockbridge, and she survives. Also surviving are
his mother of Jackson, two sons Kim II (Amanda) Barker of Grass Lake, and
Corey (Amberlee) Barker of Stockbridge; one granddaughter, Kaylee; four

William P. Heeney Sr.
Of Stockbridge
Age 62, passed away Friday, March 8, 2002 at U of M Hospital in Ann
Arbor, MI. He was born May 11, 1939 in Jackson, Michigan the son of Lawton
and Marcelline(Beck)Heeney. Bill has lived in the area most of his life
and was employed at Chrysler Proving Grounds in Chelsea. He founded Heeney
Racing Team and owned his own garage, becoming one of the best mechanics
in the area. He was also a veteran of the United States Army. Bill was
a people-person and will be dearly missed by all. He married Juanita Sturgill
on April 30, 1960, and she survives. Also surviving are his two sons William
(Carrie) Heeney and James (Tammie) Heeney all of Stockbridge; three brothers
Tom (Judy) Heeney; Jerry(Gloria) Heeney; Pat (Karen) Heeney all of Stockbridge;
two sisters Ellen (Mike ) Mosson of Jackson, and Ann (Willis) Jackson of
Stockbridge, and three grandchildren Tracey, Brian, and Tyler Heeney. He
was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Tuesday,

Age 53, died Sunday March 3, 2002 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann
Arbor, Michigan. He was born on August 27, 1948 in Ypsilanti Michigan ,
the son of Daniel and Eleanor (Davis) Patrick. Dean had lived in the Livingston
County most of his life and attended Trinity United Methodist Church and
enjoyed Farming. A veteran of Vietnam serving 2 tours of duties and received
Army Commendation Medal while serving as supervisor in the battalions Company
A. Dean had worked for Tri-State Medical Supply Company in Howell for several
Years in the printing department. Surviving are, 1 son Jeffrey Patrick
of Fowlerville, and 1 daughter Christy Eichsted of Lansing Michigan. 3
grandchildren and 3 sisters, Margaret (Charles) Purdy of Fowlerville, Dorotha
(William) Bugard of Webberville, and Nancy (Dan) Yarsevich of Gaylord.

Age 88, went to be with the Lord under the loving care of her children
and Hospice of Jackson after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born
on September 13, 1913 in Ivyton, Kentucky the daughter of the late Earnest
and Myrtle Sue (Ramey) Honaker. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, reading
and most of all her family. Beloved mother of James H. (Peg) West of Alger,
MI, Lowell (Kay) West of Leslie, Brenda (Bill) Strouss of Jackson, and
Myrtle S. (Pete) Muraf of Grass Lake. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren,
20 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren; one brother Ted
(June) Honaker of Stockbridge, three sisters Junie McFarland of Salyersville,
KY, Thelma Slone of Paintsville, KY, and Olga Lee McKenzie of Hager Hill,

Age 85, passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2002 in Ann Arbor, MI. He
was born March 1, 1916 in Ann Arbor, MI. Harry had lived in Traverse City
for the past five years, moving from Mesick, MI. He retired from the Bendix
Corporation. He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of
Traverse City, and was a life member of AmVets Post #35 of Mesick, MI.
He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He loved computers, and
was a member of the Cherry Mug Computer Club. He loved sailing, music,
and also helped his wife in writing a book and scanning photos. On January
18, 1996 he married Etta Mae Wilson in Florida, and she survives. Also
surviving are two children Toby Smith of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Vicki (Ridge)
Owen of Stockbridge; two daughters-in-law Susan Thayer of Dewitt, MI and
Youlin Thayer of Eaton Rapids; nine grandchildren Jeffrey (Judy) Shepard,
Randy Shepard, Diane Pierce, Jennifer (Mike) Sadler, Daniel (Roxanne) Thayer,
Mark (Brandi) Thayer, Ridge (Donna) Owen, Corey Thayer, and Jeff (Carol)
Jones; twenty one great-grandchildren Jeffrey (Shannon) Shepard, Josh Shepard;

Viola M. (Wilcox) Walker

Died Sunday, February 24, 2002 in Rushville, In. where she was a resident
of the Flatrock River Lodge. She was born June 30, 1918 in Millville, Mi.
She was the daughter of the late Deeo Wilcox and Grace Eggleston Wilcox.
She was preceded in death by her husband Elwood C. Walker who served as
a minister of the gospel at Brimfield, Wolcottville, and Rome City United
Brethren Churches, also at Hillsdale Chapel of Kokomo, South Whitley U.M.
Church, Grace U.M. Church of Bremen, Southside U.M. Church of Wabash, and
Wolcottville U.M. Church all in Indiana. Survivors include a son, Dennis
Walker of Wabash, IN; 3 daughters, RoseMarie Waddell of Rutherfordton,
NC, Deborah Cleaveland of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Sherry Huff of Rushville,
IN; 16 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren; a brother Charles Wilcox,
2 sisters Hazel Townsend and Joyce Balmer also survive. Services will be

Hospital in Chelsea, MI. He was born on June 22,1918 in Breathitt County,

and enjoyed woodworking. On October 25, 1952 in Magoffin County ,Kentucky,
he married Lucille Salyer, and she survives, he is also survived by a son
Larry Bailey of AL; a daughter Dorothy(Mark)Salyer of Stockbridge; one
brother Mitchell(Omalee)Bailey of Lima, Ohio; eight grandchildren; and
several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a
daughter Carol Jean Jordan; five brothers, Otis, Ellis, Arnold, John Jr,
Roger; and two sisters Stella Frazier, Faye Bailey. Funeral services will

Ordell Huyck
of Sault St. Marie, MI
Age 67, died February 18, 2002 at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann
Arbor, MI. He was born in Pickford, MI on November 6th, 1934 the son of
Denzil and Mary (Hoath) Huyck. He was married to Ruth Parrish Huyck for
39 years. Surviving are his sons Anthony (Shelly) Huyck and Gary Payment,
one sister Myrtle ( Arthur) Adams, five grandchildren, and many nieces,
nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by one son Kenneth Payment.

RUTH T. HOWARD, MRS. CLYDE
Of Stockbridge, Michigan
Age 75, died Saturday, February 16, 2002 at Arbor Hospice. She was
born February 26, 1926 in Bath, Michigan, the daughter of Elgin and Gladys
(Haviland) Stevenson. She was married to Clyde Howard in Millville, Michigan
on January 11, 1947 and he survives. Ruth retired from Federal Screw Works
in Chelsea in 1991. She enjoyed traveling; however her family was her life.
Also surviving are her daughter Holly R. (Mark) Grenier of Stockbridge
and grandson Aaron M. Grenier ; two brothers Glenn Stevenson and Roger
Stevenson and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother
Rex and two sisters Verna Myers and Mildred Putman. Funeral services will
be held Wednesday, February 20, 2002 at the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home,
Stockbridge with Rev. Wesley Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn
Cemetery, Stockbridge. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Stockbridge

CHESTER P. HOLT, JR.
YPSILANTI, MICHIGAN
Age 78, passed away Sunday morning February 3, 2002 at the home of
his daughter in Munith. Chester was born in Ann Arbor October 6, 1926.
He was the son of Dr. Chester P. and Vara Marie (Comstock) Holt. Dr. Holt
was a long time dentist in Stockbridge. Mr. Holt was raised in Stockbridge
and was the Vice President of his graduating class of 1942. Mr. Holt was
related to Glazier family in Chelsea and to the Welch family, who manufactured
an automobile in Chelsea. He was a veteran of WW11 serving in the US Air
Force. Chester was a former member of American Legion, the Secretary and
member of the Masonic lodge and the Eastern Stars. He retired from Great
Lakes Plastics and had worked as parts manager for Lantis Implement Co.
and more recently at Meijers in Ypsilanti. Mr. Holt loved aircraft, electronics
and was a former ham operator. Surviving are his children Deborah R. (Rick)
Fletcher of Munith, Michael P. (Carrie) Holt of Manchester and Timothy
F. (Monica) Holt of Ecorse, eight grandchildren, 4 great grand children
and a special friend Margaret Reid of Westland. He was preceded in death
by his parents and a brother Rex Holt in 1996.Funeral services will be
held Wed. at 11:00 AM at the CASKEY-MITCHELL FUNERAL HOME with Dennis Courtier,
Pastor of the Good Shepherd Mission officiating. The family will receive
friends Monday at the funeral home From 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Tuesday
from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Oak lawn Cemetery, Stockbridge.

Irene Smith
Of Leslie
Age 84, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2002 at her daughters home.
She was born in Rives Junction, Michigan on March 14, 1917 the daughter
of William and Winnie(Chatfield)Devers. She was a member of Flower Memorial
Spiritualist Church in Leslie, she enjoyed shopping and baking, especially
cookies. On April 7, 1946 in Leslie, she married Wendall J. Smith and he
preceded her in death in 1971. She is survived by one daughter Jacquelyn
L. North of Leslie, 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchildren
and special companion Corwin”Corky”Byers of Jackson. She was preceded in
death by her parents, two sons Gerald King and Richard King, one daughter
Janette Hatch, and a sister Bea Warwick. Funeral services will be held
at Flower Memorial Spiritualist Church in Leslie on Friday, January 25,
at 1:00 PM, with Rev. Cosie Allen of Golden Rule Spiritualist Church officiating.
Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Jackson. The family will receive

Alma C. Ford
Of Munith, Michigan
Age, 96, passed away January 15, 2002 at Doctors Hospital in Jackson.
She was born on October 20, 1905 in Munith, Michigan the daughter of August
and Julia (Gruner) Hoffman. She lived in the house where she was born all
of her life. On March 25, 1932 she married Regnald H. Ford. Alma was an
active member of Munith United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday
school teacher, organist, pianist, choir member, and member of United Methodist
Women. A member of Waterloo farm Bureau, and the Waterloo Needlework Club.
Alma graduated from Jackson High School and attended Michigan State Normal
College. She taught at Parks, Moss and Munith Schools. Surviving are 1
daughter, Julia M. Ford of Holly, Michigan, 1 daughter in Law, Mary Ford
of Munith, Grandsons, Kirk B. (Danielle) Ford of Eaton Rapids, Todd R.
(Dawn) Ford, Of Munith, Peter (Shannon) Ford of Munith. Great-grandchildren,
Allie, Katie, Camille, Emma, Wyatt. 1 sister-in-law, Pauline (Dale) Hons
of Munith. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty five years,
1 son James Ford, and 1 brother Earl Hoffman. Funeral services will be
Saturday January 19, 2002 at 11:00 A.M. from the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral
Home, Stockbridge. Burial will follow at Munith Cemetery. Expressions of

Beulah E. Hudson
of Jackson
Age 89, passed away Sunday, January 6,2002 at Hartland Manor in Jackson.
She was born in Paulding, Ohio on April 17, 1912 the daughter of Peter
and Lucy(Rowe)Kemler. She was a life member of Millville United Methodist
Church. She enjoyed the farming life, her flowers, crafts, reading, playing
euchre and liked to go to out eat. On July 1, 1931 she married Milton T.
Hudson and he precede her in death on April 10, 1912. Surviving is one
son Robert “Bob”(Carol) Hudson of Jackson, one sister Helen Kinne of Dansville,
one brother Alphonzo “Fonnie”(Ann) Kemler of Jackson, four grandchildren
and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two
sisters Marie Duffield and Nieta Waters, four brothers Clarence, Karl,
Dale and Otto Kemler. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January
9, 2002 at 11:00 AM from Millville United Methodist Church, with Rev. Richard
Tester officiating. Burial will follow at North Stockbridge Cemetery in

Doris J.Garfield
of Munith
Age 89, passed away Friday, January 4,2002 at Martin Luther Memorial
Home in Holt. She was born January 4, 1913 in Jackson, MI. the daughter
of Clyde and Theo(Robbins)Hawkins. Doris lived in the area all her life,
and was a member of the Eastern Stars in Pleasant Lake. She enjoyed playing
the piano, cooking, playing cards, and her grandchildren. She was preceded
in death by her husband Gerald Garfield in 1990. Surviving are her two
sons Graydon(Frances) Garfield and Gaynard D(Rebecca)Garfield both of Batteese
Lake, five grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law
Lillian Hawkins. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother
Keith Hawkins. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2002 at
10:00 AM from Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home in Stockbridge, with Pastor
Toby Teague officiating. Burial will follow at Munith Cemetery, in Munith.

Adam Russell
of Dansville
Age 82, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2002 at IRMCF- Greenlawn
in Lansing. He was born in Jackson, Kentucky on December 31, 1919 the son
of Grover Cleveland and Elizabeth(Craft)Russell. Adam served in World War
II in the Army Air Force, and was a life member of VFW post 7309 in Mason.
He attended Trinity Pentecostal Church of Fitchburg, he enjoyed gardening
and his family. On July 30, 1947 he married Alvadene Montgomery in Munith
and she survives, also are six surviving children. Eva(Frank)Gillespie
of Horseshoe, NC; Grover Russell of Dansville; Laura Dysert-Conner of Dansville;
Vaughn(Kathy)Russell of Stockbridge; Victoria Cottom and fiancee Ralph
Mannor of Dansville; and Bill (Barb)Russell of Leslie; two sisters Pauline
Craft and Bonnie(Gordon)Davis both of Jackson; 15 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren,
several nieces and nephews, and a very special friend Teddy. He was preceded
in death by his parents a brother Arthur, great-grandson James Malcom and
his in-laws Bill and Maggie Montgomery. Funeral services will be held on
Monday, January 7, 2002 at 11:00 AM from the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home
in Stockbridge, with Rev Ed Roark of Trinity Pentecostal Church will officiate.

Tommy Lee Hamlin
of Gregory
Age 50, passed away December 30, 2001 at his home surrounded by his
family. He was born on November 1, 1951 in Jackson, Michigan, the son of
the late Troy Lee and Bessie (Barker) Hamlin. He had lived in the area
all his life. He attended Cross Road Baptist Church in Leslie and Jeruel
Baptist Church in Munith and taught Sunday school as well. He enjoyed hunting,
golf, travel and his granddaughter, Marissa Hamlin. He worked for Federal
Screw Works in Chelsea for 25 years, retiring in 1998. A veteran of the
Vietnam conflict, he served in the United States Army. On September 8,
1973 he married Evelyn J. Hoffman in Unadilla, and she survives. Also surviving
are four sons Michael Hamlin of Gregory, Jeff (Laura) Hamlin of Stockbridge,
Craig (Phoebe) Hamlin of Stockbridge, and Ryan Hamlin of Gregory; three
brothers Jack Hamlin of Jackson, Robert (Susan) Hamlin of Aiken SC, and
Kevin Hamlin of Stockbridge; three sisters Judy (Reed) Hartsuff of Gregory,
Linda Sue (Edward) Roe of Holt, and Connie Hamlin of Ann Arbor; one granddaughter,
several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 1 sister, Karen

Age 64, passed away Friday December 28, 2001 at her daughters home.
She was born in Garrett, Kentucky the daughter of Ezra and Pearlie (Hackworth)
Patrick. She had lived in Jackson for the past 8 years and enjoyed Cooking
and 500 Rummy but most of all she adored her grandchildren. She worked
for the Country Skillet for many years. She also attended the Heeney Road
Baptist church. Surviving are 5 children, Brenda (Gary) Hoover of Stockbridge,
Ronnie (Deborah) Bartley of Jackson, Steven Bartley of Jackson, David (Zully)
Bartley and Vicki (David) White of Jackson. 3 sisters, Ernestine Handshoe
of Munith, Geraldine Lowe of NC. And Vera Hoover of Munith. 27 grandchildren,
and 1 great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her 1st, husband Garland
Bartley, and 2 sisters, Bulah, and Pauline. Funeral services will be Monday

Thomas J. Gibney
of Gregory, Mi.
Age 44, died December 25, 2001 at his home. He was born on August 12,
1957 in Lansing, Michigan the son of Thomas A. and Millie (Slabonek) Gibney.
He had lived in the area all his life and was a member of St. Mary Catholic
Church in Pinckney. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was member of the
National Rifle Assoc. Tom enjoyed life and will be missed by all that knew
him. In 1982, he married Shari Hall, and she survives. Also surviving are
two children, Angela Gibney and Thomas John "T.J." Gibney, both of Pinckney;
one sister Catherine Looby of Stockbridge, as well as several aunts, uncles
and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services
will be Saturday December 29, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. from St. Mary Catholic

Cathryn Pauline Brooks
of Stockbridge
Age 88, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2001 at Foote Hospital in
Jackson. She was born September 27, 1913 in Jackson, MI. the daughter of
Howard and Sophia(Lunelius)Rockwell. Cathryn has lived in the area all
her life. On December 16, 1932 she married Robert I. Brooks in Mason, MI.
together they owned Gulf Service Station in Stockbridge, he precede her
in death on December 9, 1979. She was employed for 20 years at Mason General
Hospital. She was involved in several bowling leagues, was a member of
ABWA, American Business Women Association. She enjoyed her flower garden
and crafts. Surviving are her children, John(Mary)Brooks of Ackerson Lake,
MI; Dorothy(Hilbert)Proctor of Stockbridge; Bonnie Conner of Sacramento,
CA; Joann(Roger)Storey of Queen Creek, AZ; Shirley(Harry)Householder of
Eaton Rapids; Philip Brooks of fort Knox, KY; Marlene(Michael)Lukenich
of Stockbridge; and Edith)Kirk)Myers of Manchester, 26 grandchildren; 35
Great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was precede in
death by her parents, three brothers Bill, Edward and Chuck Rockwell, one
sister Mary Taylor and a grandson John David Brooks. Funeral services will

Harold G. Lantis
of Stockbridge, Michigan
Harold age 90 passed away Wednesday December 5, 2001 at the Chelsea
Community Hospital. Born October 14, 1911 in White Oak Township the son
of Clifford and Blanche (Glenn) Lantis. On June 26, 1936 he married Lila
Evelyn (McManus) of Chelsea who preceded him in death on May 5, 1995. He
resided in the Stockbridge area his entire life. He partnered with his
father and brother founding C.G. Lantis & Sons Farm Equipment &
Trucks. A long standing member of the Stockbridge Presbyterian Church.
Charter member of the Stockbridge Lions Club. An honorary member of the
Stockbridge Masonic Lodge. Past president and former board member of the
Farm Equipment Association. He participated in three centennials and was
the Chairman of the Stockbridge Bi-Centennial in 1961. Charter member of
the Inverness Country Club. He was an active contributor in his community.
He was an avid woodcarver, golfer, fisherman, world traveler, and story
teller. He cherished family and is survived by: son Richard Lantis of Stockbridge,
daughter Patricia (Clifford) Blossom of Dexter, brother Linwood (Mildred)
Lantis of Jonesville, Mi., grandchildren, Brian (Karlen) Dunlavy, Kate
(Andrew) Rodgers, Jason (Maya) Dunlavy, C.G. (Amy) Lantis, great grandchildren,
Forrest, Justin, Wiyake, Rachel, Miller, and Ryan. Several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his sister Helen Atkinson. Funeral services
will be held Saturday December 8, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. at the Caskey-Mitchell
Funeral Home, Stockbridge, MI. Rev. Kathy S. Batell will officiate. Burial

Kenneth F. Osborne
of Lecanto, Florida.
Age 77 passed away November 29, 2001 at Seven Rivers Community Hospital.
He was born on July 9, 1924 in Gregory, Michigan the son of Clifton and
Florence (Corser) Osborne. Ken had lived in Florida for the past 11 years.
He was a Residential Home Builder in the area for many years,and was a
member of the Unadilla Presbyterian Church. He was veteran of WWII, serving
the 101 screaming eagles division, also a recipient of the Purple Heart.
He was a life member of the Mackinder-Glenn American Legion Post 510 of
Stockbridge, Disabled American Veterans and Veterans of Foreign Wars. he
was a former Stockbridge Lion, and was the Zoning Administrator for Unadilla
Township for 16 years. On June 24, 1945 he married Irene Colvard in Gregory
and she survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Lynn (Vickie) Osborne and
Larry (Mary) Osborne all of Gregory, and 1 daughter, Karen (Bruce) Mayer
of Munith. Also 1 brother, Henry Osborne of Florida, and 2 sisters, Norma
West of Gregory, and Verla Moffat of Florida; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by 1 brother, Lee Osborne. Funeral services will
be Tuesday December 4, 2001 at 11:00 A.M. from the Caskey-Mitchell Funeral
Home, Stockbridge with Rev. John Qui, officiating. Burial will follow at
Oaklawn Cemetery, Stockbridge. Expressions of sympathy can be made to the

MARY NEAL
Of Leslie
Age 64, passed away Tuesday November 27, 2001 at her home. She was
born on June 23, 1937 in Salyersville, Kentucky, the daughter of Eligie
and Maxine Marshall. She has lived in the area for 31 years moving from
Salyersville, Kentucky and was a member of the United Independent Baptist
Church. On May 24, 1976 she married Robert G. Neal, and he survives. Also
surviving are her children Barbara (Charles) Bartsos of Lansing, and Dale
(Lisa) Spradlin of Pleasant Lake; one granddaughter, Deborah Bartsos; three
brothers, Clarence (Margaret) Marshall of Leslie, Ray (Virgie) Marshall
of Ashland Kentucky, Charlie (Ann) Marshall of Leslie and three sisters
Katherine (Gap) Gibson of Leslie, Bethel (Delbert) Cousino of Salyersville,
Kentucky, and Ruth Holland of Leslie. She was preceded in death by her
parents and a sister Faye Johnson. Funeral services will be held on Friday
November 30, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at Caskey-Mitchell Funeral Home in Stockbridge
with Elmer Burke, pastor officiating. Burial will follow at Fitchburg Cemetery.

DORA ALLEN
Of Stockbridge, MI
Age 92, went to meet her Lord, Friday, November 16, 2001. She died
at home surrounded by family and friends. She was born December 21, 1908
in Salyersville, KY, the daughter of John and Lydia (Arnett) Howard. On
October 26, 1926 she married Chester Allen, who preceded her in death on
November 7, 1980. She is survived by eight children Daisy (Herbert) Patrick
of Stockbridge, Catherine (Wishard) Howard of Salyersville, KY, Molly (Dennis)
Courter of Pleasant Lake, Lloyd (Nora) Allen of Stockbridge, Shirley (Troy)
Bailey of Stockbridge, A.C. (Cheryl) Allen of Stockbridge, Billy (Ethel)
Allen of Stockbridge, and Bobby (Patty) Allen of Munith. She was blessed
with 45 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three daughters-in-law Jewel Arnett of Kentucky, Lev
Allen of Stockbridge, and Marge Allen also of Stockbridge; one sister Molly
Carty of Salyersville, several nieces and nephews and many, many friends.
She gave six of her 14 children to the Lord, and they wait for her in heaven:
five sons James, J.W., Goms, Steve, Leebern and one daughter Edith Fletcher.
Several grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one son-in-law Frank
Fletcher also preceded her in death. She enjoyed a long life. She triumphed
over many tragedies and still stood strong in her love of God. Her strength,
wisdom, courage and love will be missed by all of the family and friends
she leaves behind. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 19, 2001
at 1:00 p.m. at the Good Shepherd Mission in Stockbridge. Burial will follow
at Oaklawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church all
day Saturday from 3:00 p.m., and all day Sunday from 10:00 a.m. Memorial
contributions may be made to the Good Shepherd Mission. A luncheon will
follow the service at Millville United Methodist Church, with the help

DONNA M. McCANN
Of Bunker Hill Township
Age 93, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2001 at Ingham County Medical
Care Facility. She was born on July 11, 1908 in Leslie, MI, the daughter
of Thomas P. and Elizabeth (Kelly) McIntee. She lived in the area all of
her life, and was a member of Sts. Cornelius and Cyprian Catholic Church
in Bunker Hill, a member of the Altar Society-Funeral Dinner Committee.
She enjoyed crocheting afghans, making rosaries for her entire family and
was a foster parent for St. Vincent DePaul for many years. On August 31,
1926 she married Delbert T. McCann, and he preceded her in death on May
1, 1988. Surviving are her children, Adelbert (Eloise) McCann of Lansing,
Jean (Arnold) Feher of Lansing, Duane (Margaret) McCann of Bunker Hill
and one daughter-in-law, Norma McCann of Bunker Hill; three sisters, Mary
Lou (Bob) Williams of Florida, Patricia (Phil) Williams of Vandercook Lake
and Jeanette (Joe) Long of Rives Junction; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren
and seven great-great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by
two sons, Thomas and James; on brother, Tye McIntee and three sisters,
Virginia, Dorothy, Norma Jean. Funeral services will be held Saturday,
November 3, 2001 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cornelius and Cyprian Catholic Church,
Bunker Hill with the Reverend Father Eugene Beiter, Celebrant. Burial will
