Age 87, of Mt. Morris, died Saturday, March 31, 2001 at the Briarwood Manor. Funeral services will be held 11am Wed. from the St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Rev. Fr. Raymond Urbanek officiating. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. LeDuc will remain at the Miles Martin Funeral Home where friends may call 6-9pm Monday and 11am-9pm Tuesday. St. Mary Altar Society will assemble at the funeral home 2pm Tuesday to pray the Rosary. Family, friends and parish will gather at the funeral home to pray the Rosary 6:00pm Tuesday evening. Wednesday morning, Mrs. LeDuc will be taken to the church to lie in state from 10am until the time of the funeral Mass at 11:00am Family requests that Mass offerings be considered. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Mary was born April 3, 1913 in Montrose, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Cecelia (Ratza) Dowd. She and William LeDuc were united in marriage on May 16, 1935 in Elkhart, Ind. He preceded her in death September 21, 1961. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and Altar Society in Mt. Morris, and formerly of SS Charles & Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Mary taught school as a teacher in Clio, St. Mary's, and Kearsley. Surviving are: her son: Tony and wife Esther LeDuc; her daughter: Yvonne and husband Donald Finch; 6 grandchildren: Mark LeDuc; Terri and husband Rick Marlowe; Carol LeDuc; Wendy and husband Donald Allan; Susan and husband Warren Birkenhauer; Christopher and wife Janine Finch; 11 great grandchildren; Brothers and Sisters: Peter and Harriet Dowd; Esther Denny; Anna Herr; Leonard Dowd; Dennis Dowd. She was preceded in death by grandchildren Kirk and Steven LeDuc, sister Ellen Payne and brother Frances Dowd. Mary's family wishes to give Special Thanks to the nursing and aide staff for theirloving care. Another Special Thanks to the chef and and her crew for the many food and menu favors for our mother and for the many kindnesses to her family.

Age 76, of Mt. Morris, died Saturday, March 31, 2001 at the Willowbrook Manor. Funeral services will take place 11:00am Tuesday, April 3, 2001 from the Miles Martin Funeral Home. Rev. Anthony Tomasino officiating. Interment in Flint Memorial Park. Family will be present to receive friends on Sunday from 6-9pm, and Monday from 11-2pm and 4-9pm. On Monday evening, family and friends will gather at the funeral home for a memorial service by the Mt. Morris Chapter #474 O.E.S. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may consider memorial donations to the American Diabetes Association. Agnes was born January 9, 1925 in Ann Arbor, Michigan the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Jay and Lorena (Hessam) Smith. She and Dallas Jupe were united in marriage on September 9, 1943 in Mt. Morris. Agnes was a member and past matron of the Mt. Morris O.E.S. #474. Surviving are: her husband, Dallas Jupe, Three children, daughter, Mary and husband Michael Burris, son Jesse Jupe, daughter Donna and husband Randy Tester, Four grandchildren, Eric Burris, Jennifer Burris, Jason Jupe, and Cameron Tester, Three great grandchildren. Age 75 of Mt. Morris died Friday March 30, 2001 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday from St. Mary Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Raymond Urbanek and Rev. Fr. Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm the Altar Society will gather at the funeral home to pray the Rosary. Parish and family will assemble at the funeral home Sunday evening for a Scripture service at 7:00 pm. On Monday morning she will be taken to church to lie in state from 10am until time of funeral Mass at 11:00 am. Memorials may be considered for Powers Catholic Central, Mt. Marion was born September 9, 1925 Iron Mountain the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard and Coral (Despin) Wagner. She graduated from Flint St. Matthew High School and Nazareth College, Kalamazoo. She accomplished her R.N. at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo and worked for St. Joseph Hospital in Flint where she met and then married Joseph R. Knickerbocker on October 1, 1949 at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Flint. He preceded her in death August 17, 1998. Marion was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Surviving are her 5 children: Deborah and Joseph Serafin of Frankenmuth; Gregory and wife Leslie Knickerbocker of Clio; David and wife Anne Knickerbocker of Jackson; Michael and wife Delynn Knickerbocker of Lapeer; Thomas Knickerbocker of Mt. Morris; 4 grandsons: Joseph Knickerbocker; Patrick Knickerbocker; Christopher Knickerbocker; William Knickerbocker; and Owen Knickerbocker; Brother: B. Patrick. and wife Donna Wagner of California; Sister: Janice and husband Bill Quinn of Ohio; Several nieces and nephews. and numerous special friends.

Friends may call at the funeral home 2-9:00 pm Wednesday. Mrs. West was born August 21, 1927 in Mt. Morris, Twp. the daughter of Mr. and Mrs Elias A. and Eva (Kecker) Alcorn. She married Harold West in 1947. Prior to her retirement she had been employed at Ternstedt Fisher Body for 30 years. She is survived by husband: Harold; 2 brothers and 5 sisters: Elias Alcorn of Harrison; Betty Crandall, Harrriet Keech, Ruth and husband Larry Brock all of Grant, Michigan; Patricia Brock of Bailey, Rosemary and husband Ken Welch of Morley; Dale Alcorn of Grant; She was preceded in death by 1 brother and 1 sister.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home 6-9 Monday, 9-9 Tuesday and on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Retha was born March 5, 1923 in Flint the daughter of Elbern (Buck) and Josephine (Lawrence) Serven. She married Guy D. Weir December 11, 1942. She had been employed as a Nurses Aide at Flint Osteopathic Hospital and had also done volunteer work there. She was a 1942 graduate of Mt. Morris High School in 1941. Survived by husband: Guy Weir of Flushing; 1 daughter and 1 son Kathleen and Lin Sabin of Flushing; Dale Weir of Fowler, California; 6 grandchildren:Greg and wife Tammy Sabin; Eric and wife Melissa Weir; Heather and husband John Rogers; Melanie and husband Lavaro Eusebio; Nicole Weir; Erica and husband Rob Erhart; and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter Jeanette Davis. A special Thanks to the staff of Willowbrook Manor for the tender and loving care given to her.

Marion was born November 15, 1930 in Flint, Michigan the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Philip & Bessie (Zeifer) Maschino. She married Edgar Livingston on March 25, 1951 in Flint, he preceded her in death on March 6, 1995. Marion graduated Flint Central High School in 1949. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, and the Altar Guild. She was a member of TOPS MI 1097 of Clio. Survivors include: son, James E. Livingston, Flint Robert A. and wife Nancy Livingston, Hillsdale, Philip G. and wife Wendy Livingston, Clarksville, TN, daughter, Ruth A. and husband Terence Kirby of Mt. Morris, brother, Andy and wife Margie Maschino, Citrus Springs, FL, sister Margaret and husband Manley Benmark, Citrus Springs, FL, grandchildren: Michelle Burns, Melissa, Havilah, Noah, Hannah, & Moriah Livingston, Andrew and Mary Kirby. 1 great grandson Logan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Lila Livingston, special friends her brown eyed daughter Kathy and Robin Robinson and their family. Parish and family will gather at the funeral home 7:00 pm Thursday to pray the Rosary. Anthony was born October 2, 1912 in Naduyfalu, Hungary the son of Mr. And Mrs. John and Pearl (Nagy) Vamos. He married Elizabeth Police July 27, 1940. He was a former member of St. Joseph Hungarian Catholic Church and presently a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Prior to his retirement he had been employed at Fisher Body and AC Spark Plug for 35 years. He was also a member of UAW Local #651. Surviving are son: Robert and wife Bonnie Vamos of Mt. Morris; 3 grandchildren: Robert and wife Susan Vamos of Davison; Cathy and husband Steve Perryman of Mt. Morris; Barbara Vamos and fiance' Gino Giacumbo of Mt. Morris; 3 great grandchildren: Stevie and Sara Perryman; Logan Vamos; 1 brother: William and wife Bonnie Vamos of Flint; 2 sister-in-laws: Ann and Helen Vamos of Flint; several nieces and nephews. Richard Allan Foster
Of Fairgrove, age 56, died Sunday, March 18, 2001 at Covenant Medical Center - Cooper in Saginaw. Richard was born May 11,1944 in Caro, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Grace (Noble) Foster. He and Alana Rogers were united in marriage on August 24, 1968 in Bay City. Richard was a life long farmer on the family farm and an Elder and Trustee of the Fairgrove Presbyterian Church. His hobbies included Truck and Tractor Pulling for over 30 years and working in farm shop with his son. Left to cherish his memory are, wife, Alana, daughter Jennifer and husband Rick Lines of Naples Florida son, Rob and wife Tanya Foster of Fairgrove; 3 grand daughters, Emily and Amanda Lines and Carmen Foster, who will miss thier Loving Papa; sister, Diane and husband Terry McBride of Sanford; aunt, Lucille Noble of Caro; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Thursday at the Fairgrove Presbyterian Church with Pastor Rich Lawther officiating. Burial at Brookside Cemetery. Family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends 5-9 pm Tuesday and 2-9 pm Wednesday. Age 85 of Genesee died Sunday March 18, 2001 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Services will be held Thursday March 22, 2001 from the Genesee United Methodist Church. Pastor Mac Green officiating. Interment in Flint Memorial Park. Family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends on Tuesday from 6-9pm and on Wednesday from 11-4 and 6-9pm. On Thursday Dorothy will be taken to lie in state from 12 noon until the time of services at 1:00 pm. Mrs. Byrne was born August 15, 1912 in Silver Creek, N.Y. the daughter of Mr. And Mrs. William and Eva Rebecca (Chard) Schank. She and Martin J. Byrne were united in marriage. Dorothy retired from Sears & Roebuck where she worked in sales. She was a active and longtime member of the Genesee United Methodist Church. She was very involved with the Lioness Club, the friends of the Library and was a former member of the Genesee School Board. Dorothy was a very avid reader. Surviving are her son: Jim Byrne and granddaughter Barbara Byrne. She was preceded in death by her husband Martin J. in 1974.

March 1, 1915, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jay A. and Arlie E. Howell. She moved to Flint in 1920. Arlene graduated from St. Michaels in 1931. She worked at Smith Bridgmans from 1931-1937. Arlene and Claude Wilber Jr. were united in marriage July 3, 1937. She belonged to the Legion of Mary & the Josie Frasier Club. Surviving are 7 children: Shirley Harris, Patricia & Gary Miller, Joan & Robert Kalbfleisch, Claudia Sue & John Webster, Jay C. & Henrietta Wilber, Charles & Marie Wilber, Robert & Sharon Wilber, 26 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, 5 brothers & 1 sister. Many loving nieces & nephews & several special friends. She was preceded in death by death by her husband Claude M. Wilber Jr, parents & sister Patricia Jean Howell. Age 51, of Mt. Morris, died Sunday March 11, 2001 Covenant Medical Center - Cooper in Saginaw. Funeral Service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, Martin Funeral Home Clark Chapel Vassar. Cremation to follow. David was born December 24, 1949 in Saginaw the son of Mr. and Mrs. Katherine Merry and Raymond D. Carlisle Jr. (deceased) . He served with the U.S. Airforce for 4 years prior to the U.S. Navy for close to 20 years. David liked nature, the outdoors and dancing, and being with family and friends. Surviving are 2 sisters: Diana Jacobs of Flint; Irene Early of Wausau, WI.; brother: Alan Carlisle of Vassar; mother: Katherine Merry of Mt. Morris; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by father Raymond D. Carlisle Jr. and step father Douglas C. Merry and nephew Roman Jacobs, & grandparents.

Burial will be in Demorest Cemetery in Akron, Michigan at 2:30 p.m. Monday. The family will receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home 9-9:00 pm Saturday and 9-9:00 pm Sunday and at the church on Monday from 10:00 am until time of service. Memorial contributions may be directed to South Cochran Church of God in Charlotte, Michigan. Paul was born November 4, 1914 in Akron, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Reid and Jennie ( Horner) Burger. He married Maxine Burgess April 23, 1949. She preceded him in death June 28, 1999. Prior to his retirement he had been employed at Chevrolet Mfg. for 22 years. He is survived by : son Hugh and wife Sharie Burger of Charlotte, Michigan; daughter: Myra and husband Alan Scheen of Lachine, Michigan; 7 grandchildren: 3 great grandchildren: brother: Nile and wife Helen Burger of Burton. He was also preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother.

Stanley was born January 10, 1927 the son of Mr. & Mrs. Albert and Antonia (Biala) Phillips. He and Violet M. Brewer were united in marriage in January, 1980. He worked as a General Supervisor for GM in quality control-Coldwater Rd. plant. He enjoyed golf, fishing, reading, walking, playing cards, shooting pool, race tracks, sports, and enjoyed life. Mr. Phillips was a member of the Davison VFW Post # 4087 and the American Legion #64-Flint, FOE # 629, was a life member of the Dom Polski, and the Calvary Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his wife: Violet Phillips of Mt. Morris; daughter: Barbara Ann Lambert of Grand Blanc; daughter: Susan Marie and husband Michael Quinn of Flint; son: William Albert Phillips of Flint; step child: David Risdon of Harrisville; stepchild: Sharlene and husband Leonard Atkinson of Afton; Several grandchildren & great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Frank Phillips; Jan Leifheit; Ann Alexander; Albert Phillips; Virginia Defrenn; Genevieve Veirs; Stella Bila. Morris were married April 1938. She and Bruce are charter members of Mt. Morris Community Church. She is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years, Bruce; 4 sons: Jerry and wife Arlene Knickerbocker of Davison; Dennis and wife Connie Knickerbocker of Haslett; Lynn and wife Barbara Knickerbocker of Flint; Steven and wife Debbie Knickerbocker of Millington; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren.
