Of Clio age 68 died Thursday April 27, 2000 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am Monday May 1, 2000 at Miles Martin Funeral Home. Burial at West Vienna Cemetery. Rev. Sampson Williams to officiate. Family will receive friends 5-9 pm Saturday and all day Sunday. Rollie was born May 5, 1931 in Custer, South Dakota the son of Mr. & Mrs. Dale and Bertha (Hitt) Jones. Rollie married Opal Ort April 5, 1950 a union that lasted 50 years. He also owned and operated Jones Appliance Service for over 30 years. Survivors include wife: Opal; 1 son: Dale Jones; 1 daughter: Laurie Prano; 7 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. 

Mary Jeanette "Nettie" Newcombe 

Of Genesee Twp. age 80, died Tuesday April 25, 2000 at her home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Friday from Mt. Morris Church of Christ (corner of South and Brockway). Mr. Curtis Watson officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Mrs. Newcombe will remain at the Miles Martin Funeral Home where friends may call 6-9pm Wednesday and all day Thursday. On Friday she will be taken to church to lie in state from 12 noon until time of services at 1:00 pm. Born February 26, 1920 in Yale the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel and Cora (Coon) Kern. She and Kenneth C. Newcombe where united in marriage March 5, 1937. He preceded her in death Nov. 3, 1991. Nettie was a member of Mt. Morris Church of Christ and was formerly employed with Chevrolet Mfg from 1951-1959. Surviving are her 2 sons: Kenneth and wife Andrea Newcombe of Mt. Morris; Joe and wife Joan Newcombe of Mt. Morris; 7 Grandchildren: Larry and wife Bonnie Newcombe; Chuck Newcombe; Robin and husband Jon Young; JoAnn and husband Tom Leineke; Teresa Newcombe; Debra and husband Ron Compton; Daniel and wife Sandy Newcombe; 10 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; 3 Stepgrandchildren: Fred and wife Corrine Faust; Kathy LaBine; Tammy and husband Mark Smith; Sister: Ida Green of Mt. David Elleman
Age 68, of Mt. Morris, died Monday April 24, 2000 at U of M Hospital Ann Arbor. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday April 28, 2000 from Miles Martin Funeral Home, Mt. Morris . Rev. Sanford Wright officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park .Friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday 6-9pm Thursday 9-12am and 2-9pm, and 9:00 am until time of service 11:00 am Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, envelopes are available at the funeral home. David was born September 28, 1931 in Mt. Morris the son of Mr. And Mrs. John and Violet (Hayes) Elleman. He was a long time member of the U.A.W. local at truck and bus, and also a long time member of the Parkland Presbyterian Church. David loved to hunt which was passed on to his sons and grandsons. He enjoyed sports, watching his sons wrestle and play football, camping and anything dealing with the outdoors. Surviving are his wife: Louise of 49 years of Mt. Morris; 4 Children: David Jr. and wife Iris Elleman of Cincinnati, Ohio; Annette and husband Paul Donn of Southfield, Michigan; Timothy and wife Pamela Elleman of Flushing, Michigan; Anthony Elleman of Mt. Charles "Chuck" F. Kulinec Jr. 

Of Millington age 58 died Easter Sunday April 23, 2000 at Hurley Medical Center as a result of an accident while at work. Funeral services for Chuck will be 1:00pm Tuesday from Trinity Baptist Church, 4222 N. Elms Rd., Flushing. Pastor Leonard Saunders officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at Miles Martin Funeral Home funeral home 2-4pm and 6-8:30pm Monday. Tuesday morning Mr. Kulinec will be taken to church to lie in state from 12noon until time of funeral services at 1:00pm. Born April 7, 1942 in Flint the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles F. and Josephine A. (Justynski) Kulinec. He and Sharon Lewis were united in marriage May 1, 1965. Mr. Kulinec was employed with Delphi East as a millwright with 38 years service and was a member of the union. During the 1970's he raced Polaris snowmobiles and Yamaha motorcycles in Enduros. Surviving are his wife: Sharon; 3 Children: Gary and wife Michelle Kulinec of Peoria, Arizona; Lynn and husband Andy Fabbo of Del Haven, NJ; Ryan Kulinec and girlfriend Melissa Lacewell of Millington; 3 grandchildren: Ryan Fabbo; Abbie Kulinec; Charles Kulinec; Parents: Charles and Josephine Kulinec of Swartz Creek; 2 sisters: Mary Jo and husband Jerry Regan of Swartz Creek; Kathy and husband Mike Niergarth of Grand Haven; Several nieces and nephews. David Morrish Jr. 

Age 41, of Mesquite, TX formerly of Mt. Morris died Friday April 21, 2000 in Dallas, TX. Funeral services will be 11:00am Thursday from New Covenant Free Methodist Church, Clio, (corner of Clio and Field Rds). Pastor Dale A. Woods officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. There were visitation and services in Texas on Tuesday. He is being transported to Miles Martin Funeral Home where friends may call at the funeral home Wednesday 5-9pm. Thursday morning Mr. Morrish will be taken to church to lie in state from 10am until time of service at 11am. David was born June 21,1958 in Owosso the son of Mr. And Mrs. David W. and Joyce (Lucier) Morrish. He grew up in the Montrose and Mt. Morris areas. Moving to Dallas TX. From Mt. Morris in 1984. David and Jennifer Jordan were united in marriage February 23, 1985. He was employed with The Wall Street Journal, Dallas office, and served in U.S. Army for 2 years prior to moving to Texas. David was a loving and caring husband, father, son ,brother, and friend. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Jennifer; Children at home: son: Jerry; daughter: Jordan; 2 sons in Mt. Barbara G. Wildbore 

Of Mt. Morris age 74 died Friday April 21, 2000 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral service will be held 1:00 pm at Miles Martin Funeral Home on Tuesday .With burial at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Pastor Robert Koch to officiate. Family will receive friends 6-9pm on Sunday, all day on Monday and 9:00 am until time of service on Tuesday. Barbara was born February 25, 1926 in Saginaw, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur and Gladys (Hammond) Walsh. She was united in marriage September 22, 1956 in Angola, Indiana to Fred Wildbore. He preceded her in death May 25, 1991. Barbara was an avid bowler, being secretary and treasure for her bowling leagues for many years. She was a volunteer for many organizations throughout the years. She was a member of V.F.W. #1452 Auxiliary. Surviving are: son, Larry and wife Karen Wildbore; 2 daughters: Susan and husband Gary Countryman; Kathy and husband Warner Criner; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; many cousins , friends and special friend Carol Kern. She was preceded in death by her parents. In lieu of flowers donation may be considered to the Diabetes Foundation of Flint. 

Shane B. Bacon 

Of Mt. Morris, age 26, died Tuesday April 18, 2000 at his home. Funeral service will take place 11:00am Saturday April 22, 2000, at Miles Martin Funeral Home. Pastor Jim Britt officiating. Burial in West Vienna Cemetery. Family will be present to receive visitors on Thursday from 6-9pm and all day Friday. Shane was born September 13, 1973 in Flint, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Ronald and Penny (Spalding) Bacon. He married Misty Long August 9, 1997. Shane loved hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband, father, and son. Mr. Bacon graduated from Mt. Morris High School in 1993, and was a lifelong resident of Mt. Morris until moving to Flint in February of 2000. Surviving are: Wife Misty; 3 sons: Shane; Zachary; and Devin; Parents: Ron and Penny Bacon; Brother: Ronald Lee Bacon and Fiancée Lisa Laurain; Sister: Lisa Bacon; Father & Mother in law: Eugene Schmitter and Sandra Bower; 2 Brothers in law: Brad and wife Krista Long; Robert Goodrich; Sister in Law: Christina Goodrich; Niece: Paige Bacon; Nephew: Triston Long; Grandparents: Donald and Faye Bacon; Shirley and Gerald McLachlan; Several Aunts and Uncles. Bert was born on October 25, 1919 in Anderson Indiana the son of Mr. and Mrs. Forrest and Caroline (Mueller) Simmonds. He and Joan C. Slattery were united in marriage November 26, 1942. He was a member of St. Frances Xavier Catholic Church in Otisville. He had been involved in many Civic, Business and Church Organizations for many years. Leona Blake 

Age 90, Formerly of Mt. Morris went to be with the Lord Saturday April 15, 2000 at McLaren Hospice. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church 10 AM Tuesday April 18, Burial at Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends on Monday 9am-9pm. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home 9:30 am Tuesday morning for prayers then proceed to the church for holy mass at 10:00 AM. Leona was born on July 16, 1909 in Bay City the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James and Hendrica (Jacobs) Metevia.. She and Walter Blake were united in marriage on October 17, 1925. He preceded her in death June 1967. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church of Mt. Morris. Surviving are daughter: Leona and husband Dawain Link of Alger; Sons: Richard and wife Pat Blake of Mt. Morris; Bernard and wife Terry Blake of Alger; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; Sister in law: Mary McTavia of Flushing; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by both parents, husband, daughter Betty Blake, 2 sons Walter Blake and Emery Blake, Brother James, 2 Sisters Margie and Bertha. 

Leo Stadler
Age 80, of Mt. Morris, died Friday, April 14, 2000 at Mclaren Regional Medical Center. Memorial Service will be held 3:00 PM Thursday April 20, 2000 at Miles Martin Funeral Home. Family will receive friends Thursday 1-3pm prior to the service. Mr. Burton Jones will officiate. Burial at Flint Memorial Park. Mr. Stalder was born November 2, 1919 in Flint, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Claude and Ida (White) Stadler. He married Avis Noall on January 14, 1939 in Angola, IN. Leo worked at McDonald's Dairy for 42 years working as a credit manager for the last 20 years, retiring in 1981. He was a life member of Mt. Morris Masonic Lodge, and a member of Mt. Morris Kiwanis for 25 years with perfect attendance. Memorial donations may be considered for the Arthritis Foundation. Surviving are his wife Avis; Daughter: Sandra Krieger of Clio; Half brother: Donald and wife Faye Bacon of Clio; half brother: Laverne and wife Elvena Bacon of Baldwin, MI; Sister: Dortha Hemingway of Goetzville, MI. He was preceded in death by son, Leo James in 1950 and brothers Richard and Archie Stadler. 

John G. "Jack" Chapman 

Age 75, of Mt. Morris, died Friday April 14, 2000 at Carl Hayden Veterans Hospital. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Tuesday April 18, 2000 from St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Morris. Fr. Terry Villaire officiating. Family will be present to receive friends Sunday 6-9 and from 9-9pm Monday at Miles Martin Funeral Home. On Monday evening family, friends and parish will gather at the funeral home to pray the Rosary at 7 pm. Tuesday Morning Mr. Chapman will lie in state at the church from 12noon - 1pm, time of service. Memorial contributions may be considered for the American Cancer Society or the Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Chapman was born October 26, 1924 in Mt. Morris, Michigan, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Joseph & Teresa (Braley) Chapman. He married Flora Jane Cauthen in Burbank, CA. On February 2, 1946. Jack graduated from St. Mary Catholic School and was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Jack was employed at Buick Plant 31, and retired in 1982. He was a member of the Boy Scouts Tall Pine Council. Mr. Chapman also served on the board with Michigan Federal Credit Union, the Mt. Morris City Council, and on the Genesee County Board of Commissioners. Jack was a member of the Mt. Morris Senior Citizens Club. Surviving are: 10 children: Jim and wife Kathy Chapman of Flint; Marilyn Chapman of Mt. Morris; Margo and Life long companion Patti Neives of CA,; Marlene and husband Jerry Pepperack of AZ.; John D. Chapman and Life long companion Terry Villaire of FL,; Monica Deloney of Mt. Morris; Marda Sorenson of Mt. Morris; Mary and husband Dennis Austin of AZ.; Melissa Merrow of AZ.; Marnie and husband Ramon Espinoza of Mt. James Bentley 

Age 59, Died Thursday April 13, 2000 at Argentine Care Center. Funeral service will take place 11:00 am Monday April 17, 2000 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home, Pastor Mac Greene officiating with burial in Thetford Twp. Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Miles Martin Funeral Home from 1-8 pm Sunday and on Monday from 9:30 am until time of service at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Genesee United Methodist Church or the donors favorite charity. Jim was born in Mt. Morris August 29, 1940 , the son of Arthur and Doris (Rockwell) Bentley. Jim received his education at Genesee and Kearsley High School, and graduated from GM Tech as a Journeyman. He had worked at Fisher Body Grand Blanc and Flint Truck and Bus. Jim was also active in the Genesee Twp. Police Dept. and on the Narcotics Task Force-Genesee County Sheriff Dept. Surviving are Father: Arthur and Step-Mother Eileen Bentley of Genesee; Brother: Robert and wife Melissa Bentley of Clio; Sister: Nancy Wright of Clio; Daughter: Kimberly and husband Dan Hall of Flint; Son: Eric and wife Andrea Bentley of Okemos; Grand Daughters: Amanda Hall and Sidney Bentley; Many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his Mother and Grandparents. 

George E. Sharon 

Age 82, of Mt. Morris, died Thursday April 13, 2000 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Service will take place 1:00 p.m. Monday April 17, 2000 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home with burial in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday 6-9 p.m. and Sunday from 12-4 pm and 6-9 pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.George was born February 25, 1918 in Ecorse, Michigan the son of Joseph and Margaret (Brown) Sharon. He married Janice H. Rogers November 13, 1954. He was a member of the Eagles Aeerie # 3485 and a Veteran of WW2. He had been employed at Fisher Body Coldwater Plant for 32 years. He is survived by Wife; Janice of Mt. Morris; 4 Children: Larry and wife Linda Sharon of Port Huron; Cheryl Ann Wilson of Flint; Kenneth Young of Washington; Jane Lang of Ohio; 11 Grandchildren; Several Great Grandchildren; 1 Sister: Dorothy Ody of Mt. Clements; Several Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother and 2 sisters. Of Vassar, age 89 went to be with the Lord Wednesday April 12, 2000 at Bay Special Care. Funeral Services will take place 11am Saturday at St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Vassar. Pastor James Naumann to officiate. Burial will take place at Eastlawn Memorial. Family will receive friends 5-9 pm Friday at Martin Funeral Home-Clark Chapel in Vassar. Mr. Marovich will lie in state at church on Saturday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Steve was born October 6, 1910 in Austria, Hungary the son of Mr. & Mrs. Rudolph and Anna (Sabo) Marovich. He married Margaret Marx on January 24, 1931, a union that lasted 69 years. Surviving are: his wife: Margaret; 3 daughters: Margaret Somerville; Betty and husband Grover Ankney; Nancy and husband Glenn Auernhamer; Son: Steve and wife Marleen Marovich; 16 Grandchildren; 37 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandson; Sister-in-law, Margaret Marovich; Many nieces and nephews. Connie Jo Miller
Of Vassar,age 56, died Tuesday April 11, 2000 at her home. Mrs. Miller was born September 5, 1943 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald B. and Lilian "Weaver" Wing. She and Robert James Miller were united in marriage January 10, 1963. Connie enjoyed sailing, woodworking and crafts. She graduated from Farwell High School Class of 1931. She Charles H. Roy were united in marriage August 11, 1931. He preceded her in death April 5, 1988. Mrs. Roy was formerly employed with Pro-Clean at their Flint Park Blvd. Dry Cleaning and Laundromat. She was a member of Ambassador Baptist Church. Her survivors include her 2 sons: Gordon and wife Eva Roy of Lakeview; Charles and wife Janet Roy of Mt. Morris; 6 Grandchildren: Brian Roy of Mt. Eldon L. Parker 

Age 66, of Clio died Monday April 10. 2000 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral Services will be held from Miles Martin Funeral Home on Friday April 14, 2000 at 11:00 am. Elder L.D. Kitson and Elder Wm. Richardson will officiate with burial in Thetford Twp. Cemetery. Family will receive friends at Miles Martin Funeral Home Wednesday 6-9 pm, Thursday 9 am - 9 pm, on Friday 9 am to time of service. Memorial contributions can be directed to Seventh Day Adventist Developement and Relief Agency. Eldon was born on August 29, 1933 in Flint the son of Mr. and Mrs. George W. and Amelia (Von Weiderhausen) Parker. He and Sharon A. Isham were united in marriage in June 28, 1953. He attended Seventh Day Adventist Church. He served in National Guards for several years. Prior to his retirement he had been employed by Buick Motor Co. for 30 years he also owned and operated Parkers Greenhouse for 31 years. Surviving are wife: Sharon of Clio; 6 children: Curtis E. and Elise Parker of Clio; Everette G. and Kathy Parker of Millington; Rodney J. Parker of Clio; Connie M. Parker of Niles; Ralph D. Toffan "Jape" Gregory 

Of Mt. Morris, died Saturday April 8, 2000 at McLaren Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at the Ambassador Baptist Church Tuesday April 11, 2000 at 11:00 AM. Pastor Dale Lewis to officiate with burial at Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00pm to 9:00 pm. On Tuesday Jape will be taken to the church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of service. Jape was born on June 9, 1942 in Parma, Missouri the son of Mr. and Mrs. John H. and Dora Cleny (Barritt) Gregory. He retired from A.C. Spark Plug and UAW #651 with 30 years of service as a welder. He loved his family, the outdoors and his garden. Survivors are wife: Birdie; 3 sons: Harry Gene; Timothy Bruce; James Ellis; 2 daughters: Carla Mae Carmer; Sue Ann Gregory ; 17 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; 5 brothers. He was preceded in death by both parents, son Wendle Ray and 3 sisters. 

Morris E. Strother 

Of Lewiston, formerly of Columbia, died peacefully at his home on Friday April 7, 2000. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Tuesday April 11, 2000 from Miles Martin Funeral Home. Burial at Flint Memorial Park. Family will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Tuesday from 9:00 am until the time of service. Morris was born on December 16, 1943 in Flora, Illinois the son of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Verne and Helen Louise (Atkinson) Strother. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1967 and retired from GM with 30 years of service as an electrician. His hobbies included hunting and fishing. Surviving are 2 sons: Douglas and Daniel Strother; fiancée Lydia Baker; 4 sisters: Donna Elie; Peggy Jausel; Glenda Truitt; Ruthie Furry; 1 brother: Leo Thompson; mother: Helen Price; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Kathleen. 

John Patrick Lang 

Of Beecher, age 56 died Thursday April 6, 2000 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday from Mt. Morris St. Mary Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Raymond Urbanek officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery with fire department honors by Beecher Fire Department. Mr. Lang will remain at the Miles Martin Funeral Home where friends may call Sunday 6-9pm and Monday 9 am-9 pm. Monday evening family and firnds will gather at the funeral home for a Scripture & Memorial Service at 8:30 pm. Tuesday morning he will be taken to church to lie in state from 10am until time of funeral Mass at 11:00 am. John was born March 15, 1944 in Garden City the son of Mr. and Mrs. George and Lola Lang. He was a member and Captain of Beecher Fire Department with 29 years service. A member of Auto City Eagles Aerie and the Lapeer Chapter of Harley Owners group, UAW Local #1292. He was employed with Grand Blanc Metal fab as a forklift driver with 30 years service. He enjoyed Bowling and was a member of the 3 G's team at Eastown. Survivors include his former wife and close friend: Joyce Lang of Flint; 6 children: Carrie and husband Darry Rosinski of Traverse City; David and wife Shelley Lang of Maple City; Lola and husband Basil Crowder of Indiana; Brett Lang of Mt. Morris; Kathy and husband Ronald Ingerson II of Great Falls, Montana; Daniel Lang and Kristi of Clio; 17 grandchildren; brother and sisters: Georgena Miller; Mary Denton; Kathy Harter; Ray Lang; and Maxine Scherf; Numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Aaron and brother Tom. 

James Franklin Haacker
Age 59, of Clio died Wednesday April 5, 2000 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday from Miles Martin Funeral Home. Pastor M. Dean Stewart officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at funeral home Saturday 6-9 PM and all day Sunday. Family will be present to recieve friends 6-9 PM Saturday and Sunday 2-5 PM and 7-9 PM. Sunday evening Oakley Traynor Post will gather at the funeral home for memorial services at 7:00 PM. Memorials may be considered for Jim's grandchildren's scholarship fund or Mayfair Bible Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Jim was born September 10, 1940 in Billings, Missouri the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Franklin and Aleta (Bell) Haacker. He and Nancy Neahusan were united in marriage December 22, 1962. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Vietnam as a medic. He was a Life member and Post Commander of Oakley Traynor Post #64 American Legion and member of 40 & 8 Voiture #1116. President of Flint Council of American Legion and the Manager of the Legion Home on W. Carpenter Rd. He was Member of the VFW. Jim Attended the Mayfair Bible Church in Flushing and retired from Chevrolet V-8 Engine Building Maintenance. Survivors include wife: Nancy; Son: Brian and wife Theresa Haacker of Flint; 2 Grandchildren: Jena and Austin; Mother: Aleta Haacker of Aurora, MO.; 2 Sisters: Rebilla and husband William Barndhart of Port Huron; Charlotte Gillen of Fulton, MO; Several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and his brother John Robert Haacker. 

Larry A. Harrington
Of Mt. Morris, died Sunday, April 2, 2000 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Memorial service will be held Wednesday April 5, 2000 at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris. Rev. Herman Martin Jr. officiating. Interment of cremains at Flint Memorial Park. Family will be present at the funeral home to receive friends from 2-9pm Tuesday Memorial donations may be directed towards the Kidney Foundation. Larry was born April 12, 1939 in Flint, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Richard & Mildred (Williams) Harrington. He married Joan Varner on January 22, 1988. Mr. Harrington worked for Consolidated Packaging for 31 years. He was a member of the Auto City Eagles and the Harrison Moose Lodge #2235. Surviving are his wife Joan; 2 step children: April and Bruce Nelson of Clio; Ron and Jodi Nelson of Mt. Morris; 5 grandchildren; 2 brothers and 5 sisters: Dort and husbard Charlie Gardner of Arkansas; Marge Condict of Missouri; Loraine and husband Ed Limbert of Chesaning; Carol and husband Tom Martin of Clio; Sharon and husband Jim Bates of North Branch; Ken and wife Charlotte Harrington of Glennie; Gerald and wife Pat Harrington of Flint; several nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and 2 brothers: Don and Neil Harrington. 

Mildred E. Johnson
Age 78, of Mt. Morris, died Saturday April 1, 2000 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 5, 2000 from the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Morris. Pastor Bob Burkey officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. The family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9pm Monday and all day Tuesday. On Wednesday morning, Mildred will be taken to church to lie in state from 10am until the time of services at 11:00am. Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Morris. Mrs. Johnson was born on August 1, 1921 in Delmar, Delaware the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack and Helen (White) Hale. She married Kenneth Johnson on September 27, 1941 in Baltimore, MA. Mildred was a member of the Mt. Morris First United Methodist Church and a memeber of Mt. Morris O.E.S. #474. Surviving are her husband Kenneth; 1 daughter: Deborah and husband William Allen of Flint; Sister: Anna Butler of Baltimore, MD.; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 sister, Betty Lou Reedy; and 1 brother, John William Hale. 

Milford "Mike" Donald Taylor
Age 73, of Vassar, died Saturday, April 1, 2000 at the Covenant Harrison in Saginaw. Funeral services will be held 11:00am, Wednesday April 5, 2000 from the Martin Funeral Home Clark Chapel - Vassar. Pastor Tim Bender Officiating. Burial in Riverside Cemetery. Family will be present to receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11 - 9pm. Mike was born January 25, 1927 in Millington the son of Mr. & Mrs. Charles Eugene and Gertrude (Minore) Taylor. He and Marilyn Harrison were united in marriage December 6, 1958. He was a veteran serving in WWII with the U.S. Army 82nd airborne in Germany. He was also a member of Moose Lodge # 2235 in Harrison, MI. Mike retired in January 1988 from Maier's Motor Freight, where he worked as a supervisor with 33 years of service. Surviving are his wife Marilyn; 3 children: Terry and wife Wendy Taylor of Tifton Georgia; Kevin and wife Cindy Taylor of Vassar; Kathy Taylor of Vassar; son-in-law Eugene "Butch" Waibel of Bay City; 7 grandchildren: Brandi, Dustin, twins Ashley and Erica, Samantha, Jason and Heather; brother: Don & wife Kay Taylor of Lake Orion; sister: Betty Keating of South Pasadena, FL; Several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Linda Taylor-Waibel August 1996; 1 brother, Claude Taylor; 2 sisters, June Marlow and Faith Gamet. 

Paul Young
Age 70 of Mt. Morris and Niceville, Florida passed away suddenly Wednesday March 29, 2000 in Niceville, FL. Funeral Services will be held Monday April 3, 2000 at 11:00am from the First Baptist Church in Mt. Morris. Pastor Richard Cook officiating. Burial in Mt. Morris Cemetery. Visitation will take place at the Miles Martin Funeral Home in Mt. Morris Saturday from 7-9pm and on Sunday from noon to 9pm. On Monday Mr. Young will be taken to the church where he will lie in state from 10 am until the time of services at 11:00 AM. Memorial donations may be made to the Youth Fund of First Baptist Church of Mt. Morris. Jerry was born July 5, 1929 in Hickman, Kentucky the son of Mr. & Mrs. J.W. & Lucy (Yates) Young. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Niceville, FL. And a former member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Morris. In 1981 he retired from the chevrolet motor division with 32 years of service as a machine repair man. . Jerry was an avid golfer, and a devoted father and grandfather. Surviving are his wife Grace, formerly of Mt. Morris; 5 children: David Young of Mt. Morris; Linda and husband Brian Ross of Clio; Tom and wife Cathy Johnson of Mt. Morris; Bill Johnson of Broussard, LA,; Nancy and husband Mike Foshee of Knightstown, IN.; 6 grandchildren: Tony and Cassie Johnson; Jennifer and Joshua Foshee; Alex and Blake Ross; Brother: Billy R. and wife Jean Young of Mt. Morris. He was preceded in death by his first wife Joyce.
