Iva Helen Wellman

Of Flint, age 83, died Friday April 30,1999 at Heritage Manor Nursing Care Center. Funeral sevices 3:00 pm , Sunday May 2, 1999 from Miles Martin Funeral Home. With pastor Daryl Taylor officating. Family will receive friends on Sunday from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. The casket will be closed. She was born on January 16, 1916 in Mt. Pleasant, the daugther of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Franklin and Maude (Thrall) Taylor. She married Lloyd Tucker in 1936 he preceded her in death 1952. She married Stephan Wellman in 1953 he preceded her in death 1995. She liked to listen to Country music. Surviving are: Daughters: Jane and husband Lyle Reynolds; Patricia Slattery; Stepson: Dale and wife Norma Wellman; Donald and wife Pat Wellman; Brothers: Lewis and Robert Taylor; Special Granddaughter: Pamela Mauer; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Lloyd Tucker and Stephan Wellman, 10 brothers and sisters. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to Genesys Hopsice or a charity of you choice 

Anna Gondol

Age 95, of Flint died Thursday April 29, 1999 at her residence. Friends may call the Miles Martin Funeral Home Saturday and Sunday 12-4 and 6-9. Sunday evening friends, family and parish will gather to pray the rosary at the funeral home at 7:00 P.M. Monday morning family will gather for prayers and procede to church in time for services. Funeral service will be Monday, 11 AM May 3, 1999 at Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 6340 Roberta, Burton, Rev. Fr. Denis Spitzley officiating. Burial in Gracelawn Cemetery. Anna was born February 2, 1904 in Sarud, Hungary the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Elizabeth (Seres) Police. She married Simon Gondol November 26, 1921. She was employed by A.C. Spark Plug for 34 years, retiring in 1966. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening and flowers. Survivors include: Son: Joseph Gondol of Brighton; Daughter: Irene and husband Maynard Kranz of Flushing; Daughter-in-law: Betty Gondol of Fife Lake; Sisters: Margaret Wonsey; Mary (Boka) Zitterkoph; Rose DeFlorio; Sister-in-law: Margaret Police; Brother-in-law: Tony Vamos; 9 Grandchildren; 19 Great grandchildren; 9 Great Great Grandchildren; Preceded in death by her parents , husband Simon December 8, 1942, 2 children Simon Jr. and Esther, 6 Brothers, 2 Sisters, 1 grandchild, 1 great great grandchild. 

Tyrone Van Sheick

Age 53, of Mt. Morris, died Tuesday, April 27, 1999. Funeral Services will be 5:00pm Friday April 30, 1999 at Miles Martin Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday 1-8PM and Friday 9 AM until time of services at 5pm. Memorials may be considered for Service Center for Visually Impaired. Envelopes available at the funeral home. Tyrone was born October 12, 1945 in Flint, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Marvin W. & Lucille (Richards) Sheick. Tyrone and Judith Helzer were united in marriage August 10, 1985. He was a graduate of Mt. Morris High School Class of 1963. Mr. Sheick retired May 1, 1998 from Buick Motor Division Assembly plant in production and formerly worked at Fisher Body #1 until it closed. He and Judy were building their retirement home in Upper Michigan near Newberry. Survivors are his wife: Judy; 2 children: Todd Sheick and Tonya Sheick; 2 grandchildren: Kasey and Martina; Brothers and sisters: Joanne & husband Noel Gunther of Mt. Fred D. Bethal

Age 64. Of Harrison formerly of Mt. Morris. Died Sunday April 25, 1999 at his residence. Funeral services will take place 11:00am. Wednesday April 28, 1999 from Our Savior Lutheran Church, 6901 N. Saginaw St., Flint. Pastor Joseph Cottam will officiate Burial in Flint Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home 6-9pm Monday. 9am -9pm Tuesday and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00am until time of services at 11am. Freddie was born April 29, 1934 in Leachville, Ark. the son of Mr. and Mrs. John and Lois (Barnes ) Bethel. He married Darlene Lowell August 7, 1954. Fred was a former member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Flint and was presently a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Harrison. Prior to his retirement he had been employed at Buick Motor Co. and was presently employed by Blodget Oil Co. He is survived by his wife Darlene; Son: Michael and wife Jeanette Bethel of Gladwin; Daughter: Michelle and husband Keith Jones of Connecticut; Grandchildren: Pvt. Nicholas R.S. Bethel stationed with the US Army in Virginia; Joshua Bethel of Gladwin; Matthew and Timothy Perry and Katrina Jones all of Connecticut; Brother: Shelby Bethel of Flint; 3 Sisters: Gloria and husband Wayne Bailey of Mt. Morris; Marian and husband Howard Taylor of Harrison; Beverly and husband John Clawson of Georgia; Sister-in-law: Barbara Bethel of Flint; Mother-in-law: Ethel Lowell of Gladwin; Several Nieces and Nephews. Frank W. Riedel

Of Caro, age 52 died Sunday, April 25,1999 at St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw. Funeral services will be held 2pm Wednesday, April 28 1999 at Martin Funeral Home in Fairgrove with Pastor Scott Lidner officiating. Burial in Gilford Cemetery. Family will receive friends at Martin Funeral Home in Fairgrove Tuesday 5-9 pm and Wednesday 9am until service at 2 pm. Those desiring may consider memorials contributions to the Arthritis Foundation. Frank was born December 14,1946 in Detroit, Michigan the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold and Matty (Spencer) Riedel. He enjoyed collecting baseball cards. Survivors are: sister Bonnie and husband Clare Ziegler of Vassar; brother Jack and wife Charlotte Riedel of Vassar; sister Jacqueline and husband Virgil Spencer of Vassar; mother Matty of Cass City. 

Virginia C. Chalmers
Of Fairgrove, age 83, died April 24, 1999 at Tuscola Medical Care Facility. Cremation has taken place. Memorial service will be held 12:00 pm Saturday May 1, 1999 at Fairgrove United Methodist Church Rev. Kevin Harbin officiating. She was born June 22, 1915 in Detroit the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clayton D. And Millie (Kinney) Oak. Surviving are: husband Melvin W. Chalmers. 

Bertrand Howard Molloseau

Age 69 of Clio, died Tuesday April 20, 1999 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11AM Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Raymond Urbanek officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call the Mt. Morris Funeral home 6-9PM Wednesday, 9-9 Thursday, when Friends and Family will gather at the funeral home 7:00 PM to pray the rosary. Mr. Molloseau was born April 5, 1930 in Flint the son of Mr and Mrs. Joseph and Ileen (Howard) Molloseau. Married Agnes M Birchmeier January 17, 1954. Member of Mt. Morris St. Mary's Catholic Church, NRA, American Legion, and UAW Local #599. Served in the U.S. Army, during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement in 1996 he had been employed at Buick Motor Company for 26 years, retiring as a skilled tradesman. He was an accomplished gunsmith, knife maker, and leather worker. He also enjoyed video taping his grandchildren and nature scenes. He also enjoyed garage sales and flea markets. Survivors include: wife: Agnes (Birchmeier) Molloseau; Children: Terry and husband Greg Dowd of Alger; Jeffrey L. and fiancé Denise Eagleson of West Branch; Nick and wife Cheryl; Lisa and husband Bill Ryal of Talking Rock, GA.; Russ and friend Christina of Mt. Morris; Tina and Don Stinson of Genesee; Grandchildren: Jennifer and husband Dean Horn of West Branch; Jeremiah and wife Misty Dowd of West Branch; Jedediah Dowd of Alger; Jeffery Molloseau of West Branch; Justin and Cody Ryal both of Talking Rock, GA.; Joshua Stinson of Genesee; Great Grandchildren: Michael, Melissa, and Mandy Horn of West Branch; Special loved ones Jenny, Eric, Aaron and Robbie. Myrtle Newcomb
Age 98, of Bay City died Sunday April 18, 1999 at Bayshore Resident Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday April 22, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. there will be prayers at Miles Martin Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m. then preceded to St. Marys Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Raymond Urbanek officiating burial in Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Newcomb will remain at Miles Martin Funeral Home where friends may call Wednesday 4-9 p.m. Wednesday evening family and friends will gather to pray the rosary 7 p.m. She was born December 9, 1900 in Bay City, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph and Isabell (Robb) Newcomb. She was a member of Visitation Church in Bay City. Surviving are : Sister: Christine Newcomb of Mt. Morris; Numerous Nieces, Nephews, great Nieces and Nephews. 

Eunice F. Troop
Of Clio, age 92 died at I.H.S Riverbend April 17, 1999. Funeral Services will be held at Miles Martin Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Tuesday April 20 ,1999. Burial will take place at Mt.Morris Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Monday from 6PM to9PM and on Tuesday from 9:00 Am to time of service. Eunice was born on August 16, 1906 in Gaylord, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George and Mabel (English) Allis. She and Clay Edwards were united in marriage November 28, 1928, he preceded in death March 23, 1949. She and Wesley Troop were united in marriage August 9, 1950, he preceded her in death May 22, 1994. Eunice worked in retail sales for many years retiring in 1968. She loved to crochet,sew, read and hard work. The family would like to express their thanks to the Riverbend Staff. Surviving are: daughter: Mabel Louise and husband Curtis Booker of California; grandchildren: Mark ; Sandra ; great grandchildren: Nathan; Taylor; Michael; Matthew; Ryan; Cory; Lindsey; Jordan; one great great granddaughter: many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers , one sister and one granddaughter. 

Vera Louise Cunningham 

Age 83 of Mt. Morris died Thursday, April 15, 1999 at home. Funeral services 1:30 PM Monday, April 19, 1999, at Miles Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Alan LaRose officiating. Friends may call the funeral home Saturday 11:00 AM -9:00 PM Sunday 9:00 AM - 9:00PM and Monday 9:00 AM until the time of service. Burial in Mt. Morris Cemetery. Vera was born August 13, 1915 in Saginaw, MI, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Hamilton and Katie (Decker) Ingram. Vera and William Francis Cunningham were united in marriage in 1934. She retired from AC Spark Plug in 1973 after 30 years of service. She was a Red Cross volunteer at FOH for 25 years. She loved dancing, playing cards, golf, bowling, and traveling. Surviving are her daughter: Beverly Gleason of Mt. Morris; 2 grandsons: William and wife Deborah of Otisville; Derrick and wife Debra of Fostoria; 6 great-grandchildren: Kris, Nichole, Heather, Stacie, Derrick, Jr., and Stephanie; 1 great-great-grandson: Jacob; She was preceded in death by her husband William in 1971, and grandson, Terry Jay in 1990. Vera came from a family of 10, two brothers and seven sisters. Six are still living. Richie Staple
Formerly of Mt. Morris, age 93 died Wednesday April 14, 1999 in Kissimmee, Florida. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday from Miles Martin Funeral Home. Burial in Sunset Hills with military honors by American Legion Buick Post #310. Friends may call at the funeral home 12-9pm Sunday. Sunday evening the Mt. Morris Lodge #535 F&AM will assemble for a masonic memorial service at 7:00 pm. Memorials may be considered for Michigan Masonic Foundation. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Born Cornwell, England June 22, 1905 he was one of 9 children to Mr. and Mrs. William and Elizabeth (Banfield) Staple. He moved to Flint 1923 from England. He and Ruth Krieger were united in marriage in Flint January 3, 1929. She preceded him in death. Richie was a member of Mt. Morris First United Methodist Church in Mt. Morris Lodge #525 F&AM, Mt. Morris Chapter #474 OES, the Genesee Valley Commandery #15 Knights Templar, Washington Chapter Royal Arch Masons, Bay City Consistory, Elf Khurafeh Shrine, White Shrine of Jerusalem. Richie was a veteran of WWII serving in the US Army Air Corps and was a member of American Legion Buick Post #315. He retired September 1964 from Buick Motor Division in Supervision of material control with 41.5 years service. Surviving are his daughter: Sandra Ruth Burlison of Kissimmee, FL.; 3 grandchildren: Nicole, Scott, and Johnathon; brother: Walter Staple of Lansing; sister: May Edwards of National City; several nieces and nephews. 

Grant A. Robinson

Age 93 of Mt. Morris died Wednesday April 14, 1999 at McLaren Regional Medical Cntr. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday from Miles Martin Funeral Home. Pastor Bob Burkey officiating. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday 6-9pm and Friday from 1-4pm and 6-9pm. Memorials may be directed to his church Mt. Morris First United Methodist Church or to the charity of one's choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Born February 26, 1906 in Gladwin the son of Mr. and Mrs. Shelton S. And Mary Clara (Lanphear) Robinson. He and Marjorie Hillier Stevens were united in marriage . She preceded him in death February 1985. He then married Ingel Casey June 1988. He was a member of Mt. Morris First United Methodist Church, and was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Army Postal Services. He retired from US Post Office in Flint. Grant owned, operated, and retired from his service station, the Robinson Mobile Service Station, in Mt. Morris. Surviving are his wife: Ingel; 4 sisters: Beatrice Malia of Mt. Morris; Doris Akridge of Mt. Morris; Maxine & husband William Wheeler of Mt. Morris; Margaret and husband Robert Purdy of Mt. Morris; sister-in-law: Marian Potteer of Flint; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife Marjorie, and 2 brothers: Jess Robinson and Laurence Robinson. 

Kenneth D. Mellon 

Age 87 of Mt. Morris died Tuesday April 13, 1999 at McLaren Regional Medical Cntr. Funeral services will be 1:00pm Friday from Miles Martin Funeral Home. Burial in Flushing Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6pm Wednesday and all day Thursday. Thursday evening at 7 pm the Flint Lodge #23 F&AM will assemble at the funeral home for a Masonic memorial service. Born September 27, 1911 in Lupton the son of Mr. and Mrs. George and Ethel (Curtis) Mellon. He and Fern Houser were united in marriage Dec. 3, 1933 in Angola, IN. He was a veteran of WWII serving with the U.S. Navy. He was life member of Flint Lodge #23 F&AM and the Bay City Consistory. He worked for Buick for 38 years and retired as a supervisor from plant #10 in 1970. Surviving are his wife: Fern; 2 sons: Kenneth John Mellon of Cheybogan; Jerry D. And wife Kathy Mellon of Otisville; 5 grandchildren: Alisa, Amanda, Joseph of St. Ignace; Jerod and wife Julie of Mt. Morris; Jennifer and husband Jeremy of Davison; 2 Great Grandchildren; sister: Kathleen Casiano of Flushing; brother: George and wife Jean Mellon of Otter Lake; Many nieces and nephews. 

Federick E. Mellberg

Age 61, of Flint died Tuesday April 13, 1999 at Genesys Health Park. A memorial service will take place at 11:00 AM Friday April 16, 1999 at Miles Martin Funeral Home, with Rev. Donald K. King officiating. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Mr. Mellberg was born November 5, 1937 in Flint the son of Mr & Mrs. Einar and Anna (Fisher) Mellberg. He worked as a die setter for GM with 37 years of service. Mr. Mellberg loved hunting, fishing and horses. Mr. Mellberg will be deeply cherished and sadly missed by: Father: Einar Mellberg of Flint; 2 daughters: Wanda and husband Dean Cole of Mt. Morris; Wendy and Husband Jim MacDonald of Millington; 1 son: Randell Mellberg of Mc Bain; 3 sisters: Carolyn and husband Byron Hurd of Cheyboygan; Joyce Anderson of Rochester Hills; Norma Jean and Husband Dale Folgel of Cedarville; 7 grandchildren: Angelo Stornello, Dustin Cole, Amanda and Sara MacDonald, Erica Eastburn, Brian and Joshua Mellberg; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother. 

Michael Kosalski

Age 24 of Genesee Twp. Died April 12, 1999. Funeral visitation will take place Thursday April 15,1999 at Miles Martin Funeral Home. Friends may call from 1pm-5pm on Thursday. Cremation to follow. Micheal was born June 19, 1974 in Flint, Michigan to Mr. And Mrs. Walter and Florence (Zito) Kosalski. Michael liked hunting, fishing, water activities, and country music. He was a loving father to his daughter Kayla Ann Kosalski. Survivors are parents: Walter and Florence Kosalski; stepfather: George Cook; sisters: Lori Kosalski; Stacy Kosalski; Robert Hendrickson; Andrea Duford; girl friend Dawn Papp and son Andrew; grand father: Norman Kosalski; Aunt Sandy and Uncle Rick Randol; Auntie Jay; many friends, nieces and nephew. He was preceded in death by grand mother Harriet Kosalski. 

Virginia M. Smith (Gini)
Of Mt. Morris died Tuesday April 13, 1999 at McLaren Hospice Cntr. Funeral Services will be held 11:00am Friday from Mt. Morris First United Methodist Church pastor Bob Burkey will officiate. Burial at Flint Memorial Park. Gini will remain at Miles Martin Funeral Home where friends may call 6 to 9pm Wednesday, and Thursday from 2 to 4pm and 6 to 9pm. Friday family will receive visitors at the church from 10am until time of service at 11am. Memorials may be considered for her church the First United Methodist Church or McLaren Hospice Cntr.. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Gini was born in Brown City, Michigan on March 5, 1924 the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred and Mary (Isles) Collins and moved to Flint in 1929 and to Mt. Morris in 1960. She and Homer Smith were united in marriage and they celebrated there 50th wedding anniversary in June 1996. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Morris. Gini was employed as an accountant at AC spark plug for 37 years. retiring in 1980. Gini loved music and sang in the church choir. She also sang in the AC Ladies Chorus for many years. She was active in the United Methodist Women and the Ruth Circle. She was a member of the AC Retirees Tenormore Club. She was a avid Baseball fan and liked traveling. What she enjoyed the most was being with her loving family. She leaves to cherish her memory husband: Homer; Beloved sisters: Mildred Mathe and husband Elmer of Mt. Morris; Ruth Meade of Davison; Also treasured nieces Janet Trigger of Madeira Beach, Fl.; Pamela Ferrell and husband Bud of Davison; and Peggy Gilbertson of Grand Blanc; Several delightful grand nieces and nephews; 21 great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Mary and Fred Collins and brother her Dale. A Special Thank You to the nurses and caregivers at McLaren Hospice Cntr. 

Grace Margaret Bartlett
Age 87, of Burton died April 9,1999 at McLaren Regional Medical Cntr. Funeral services will be held at First United Methodist Church of Mt. Morris on April 13, 1999 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bob Burkey. Family will receive friends on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. Grace was born on April 4, 1912 in Mt. Morris Township, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs Russell And Grace (MacDonald) Beckwith. She lived in Detroit from 1936 until 1984 when she moved to Mt. Morris. She and Donald Bartlett were married in Detroit on October 21, 1944. He preceded her in death September 5, 1976. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the choir of First United Methodist Church of Mt. Morris, where she was an active member for many years. Surviving are: two brothers: Arthur D. Beckwith of Grand Blanc; Russell L. (Roy) Beckwith of Cheboygan; Sister: Bessie K. and husband Robert W. Brown of Flint; brother-in-law and two sisters-in-laws in Florida, Maine and Connecticut as well as many nieces and nephews, and close friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 1 sister and 3 brothers. 

Ada I. Smith
Age 96 Of Mt. Morris, died Friday, April 9, 1999 in Genesys Health Park. Funeral services 11 AM Monday, April 12, 1999, Parkland Presbyterian Church, Rev. Grant Wessel officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Ada will lie in state at the church 10 AM Monday until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of choice, envelopes will be available at the church. Mrs. Smith was born October 24, 1902 in Billings, MI the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Frank N. and Adeline (Aumaugher) Marshall. She married Harold I. Smith, April 15, 1922 in Flint. She was a member of Parkland Presbyterian Church for many years. Survivors: numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Harold I. Smith in 1989; 2 sons, Jerry Hugh Smith, and John Frances Smith; and 1 daughter, Gertrude Faye Schoonover. 

Roland Freewald
Age 86, Of Millington, died Thursday, April 8, 1999 at Cartwright Center Hospice, VA Hospital, Saginaw. Funeral services 11 AM Monday, April 12, 1999, St. Lukes Lutheran Church, Vassar. Burial Tuscola Cemetery with military committal. Rev. James W. Naumann officiating. Family will receive friends Saturday, 4-9pm and Sunday, 4-9pm at Martin Funeral Home-Clark Chapel, Vassar. Monday, Mr. Freewald will lie in state at the church 10 am until time of service at 11 am. Memorials may be made to the Cartwright Center Hospice, VA Hospital, Saginaw. Envelopes available from the Funeral Home. Mr. Freewald was born July 15, 1912, Detroit, MI, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Fred and Minnie "Wergert" Freewald. He and Lucille Horn were united in marriage in 1936. She preceded him in death in February 1990. He was a veteran U.S. Army during WWII serving with the infantry. Entered the Armed Services in July 1943. In September 1944 he went overseas, where he earned the Purple Heart, Good Conduct Badge, and Campaign ribbons for the European, African and Middle Eastern Theatres of War and two Bronze Stars. A Life member of Disabled American Veterans, member St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Vassar. He retired from GM, Flint, as a truck driver. He then owned and operated Pineview Motel in Millington. Preceded in death by parents Father on February 24, 1963 , Mother on October 12, 1981, and brother Floyd Freewald in 1917.

Age 86, Of Vassar died Thursday, April 8, 1999 at St. Mary's Hospital, Saginaw. Cremation has taken place. Mrs. Billings was born Dec. 16, 1912 in Lincoln, MI, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Fred and Oda "Day" Schram. Donald H. Foster

Born March 14, 1920 in Fairgrove the son of Mr. and Mrs. James R. and Olive K. (Wylie) Foster. He and Gladys Elizabeth Boughan were united in marriage August 10, 1953. He retired from State of Michigan where he was employed as an Attendant Nurse. Mr. Foster was an active member, Deacon, and Sunday School Teacher at the Wahjamega Country Church. He was a member of the Gideon Society. Surviving are his wife: Gladys; his 4 sons: Robert Foster; Kim Foster; Jack and wife Kathy Foster; Douglas and wife Diane Foster; 6 grandchildren: Jason; Miranda; Kacy; Brandon; Andrew; and Adam; 3 sisters: Alice and husband Keith Fick; Mable Pfeifer of Vassar; Goldie Langworthy of Caro; Brothers-in-law: Robert Boughan of Caro; Chester Boughan of Cheboygan; Numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. 

Kathy A. Crane
Age 53, of Phoenix, AZ, formerly of Flint died Monday April 5, 1999. A memorial mass will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mt. Morris, Friday April 9, 1999 at 11:00 AM. Rev. Fr. Raymond Urbanek officiating. Cremation has taken place. Kathy was born in Flint September 16, 1945, the daughter of Gerald W. and Mary V. ( Hughes ) Ruddy . She graduated from St. Mary's High School and Flint Junior College. She moved to Phoenix in 1983, and graduated from Gateway Community College School of Nursing in Phoenix. Kathy worked as an R.N. at Phoenix Memorial Hospital for the past six years. She was an upbeat, kind, caring, beautiful person and a compassionate and hard working nurse. She enjoyed mountain sunsets, movies, plays and concerts, and was an avid Phoenix Suns fan. Kathy was an extremely generous and sensitive person who touched the hearts of all who knew her. Her joyful smile and laughter will be sadly missed by friends and family alike. Survivors include: mother; Mary V. Ruddy of Genesee; brothers: Michael and wife Judy Ruddy of Westland; Richard and wife Mary Ruddy of Fenton; Patrick and wife Deborah Ruddy of Flint; sisters: Therese Foy of Waterford; Mary Ann Ruddy of Flint; and Colleen and husband Chris Howes of Lapeer; several nieces and nephews: Christin, Greta, Amiee, Chris, Ryan, Tom, Nick, Michelle, Christie, Jennifer, Andrea, and Paul. She and Lloyd Brown were united in marriage October 17, 1953. She was a member of Mt. Morris First United Methodist Church, the Circle and United Methodist Women's Society. She was leader of the Monday morning Bible Study at church. Surviving are: husband: Lloyd; daughter: Sandra and husband Francis Tull of Mt. Morris; 3 grandchildren: Justina, Francis, and Aaron; Great granddaughter: Jessica; brother: Leslie and wife Nancy Carley of Florida; Sister: Sally and husband Donald Lerche of Tennessee; brother-in-law: Richard and wife Marge Ayotte of Grand Blanc; Several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister: Dorothy Ayotte April 5, 1971. 

Nova C. Lewis
Of Caro age 92 Died Saturday April 3, at the Tuscola Medical Care Center. The Funeral will take place at Martin Funeral Home in Vassar, on Tuesday April 6, at 11:00 am and Rev. Nova was born on January 28, 1907 to Mr and Mrs. George and Charlotte (Tuthill) Spicer. She was a devoted mother, grandmother not only to her own family but to many others and great grand mother. Nova was also an avid bowler. Age 74 of Millington and Vassar died Friday April 2, 1999 at Flint Hurley Medical Center. Mass of the Christian Burial will be 11am Tuesday at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Vassar. Rev. Fr. Richard T. Szafranski will officiate. Burial in Riverside cemetery. Mrs. Mead will remain at the Martin Funeral Home, Clark Chapel-Vassar where friends may call 6-9 Sunday, and on Monday from 1-5pm and 7-9pm. Monday evening at 7pm the family, friends, and parish will assemble at the funeral home for a Scriptural Wake Service. Tuesday morning Mrs. Mead will be taken to church to lie in state from 10am until time of Mass at 11am. Memorials may be considered for the Diabetes Fund or the charity of your choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Born December 6, 1924 in Saginaw the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank and Clara (Hagen) Fentner. She and Lavere Mead were united in marriage July 17, 1943. Alexander Fritzler

Of Flint. Age 80. Died Thu. April 1, 1999 at McLaren Hospice. Funeral service will take place 1:00 P.M. Monday April 5, 1999 at Emanuel Lutheran Church 6380 Beecher Rd. Rev. Gary Pieper officiating with burial in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Miles Martin Funeral Home 5-8 pm Friday, 3-8pm Sat. and Sun. and at the church on Monday from 12 noon until time of service. He was born November 30, 1918 in Winsor, Colorado the son of Jacob and Katherine (Blume) Fritzler. He married Betty J. Owrey September 28, 1945. He was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church, VFW, Frankenmuth Conservation Club. He was also a member of UAW Local 599 for 21 years and for 13 years was a supervisor at final assembly at Buick. Mr. Fritzler was a member of the 1937 Flint Northern State Champion Basketball Team and was inducted into the Great Flint Area Sports Hall of Fame. He served in U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater in WW II. He had also been an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife: Betty; Children: Christine and husband Terry McCormick of Swartz Creek; Alexander Fritzler II of Clio; Jack C. and wife Heather Fritzler of Mayville; Kimberly B and husband Marc Elder of Swartz Creek; Robert E. Fritzler of Tuscon, Arizona; 11 Grandchildren; 5 Great Grandchildren; Sister Molly Helmreich of Reese; Sister Frieda Helms and Brother Jake Friztler both of Flint; Numerous Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by 1 Brother and 3 Sisters.

Schoeppach Dec. 29, 1945. He served in the U.S.Navy during WW 2 and had been employed as a Bread Salesman for Schaefer Bakery for 40 years. Lloyd was a member of the U.C.T. and the Clare F.O.E #3977. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his Wife Ellen; 2 Sons: Donald and wife Karen Diehl of Port Huron; Richard and wife Joanna Diehl of Flushing; 4 Grandchildren: Danielle and husband Brian Kopper of Madison, Wisconsin; Jason Diehl of Lake Orion; Laurie Diehl of Port Huron; Paula Diehl of Flushing; 2 Sisters: Grace Goodenough and Thelma Dowen of both of Flushing; He was preceded in death by a Grandson Curtis Diehl and 3 Brothers, Clarence, Earl , Frank Diehl.
