Assoc. Lloyd was born Dec. 24, 1919 in Flushing the son of M/M Frederick
and Edith (Moyer) Diehl. He married Ellen L. Schoeppach Dec. 29, 1945.
He served in the U.S.Navy during WW 2 and had been employed as a Bread
Salesman for Schaefer Bakery for 40 years. Lloyd was a member of the U.C.T.
and the Clare F.O.E #3977. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He
is survived by his Wife Ellen; 2 Sons: Donald and wife Karen Diehl of Port
Huron; Richard and wife Joanna Diehl of Flushing; 4 Grandchildren: Danielle
and husband Brian Kopper of Madison, Wisconsin; Jason Diehl of Lake Orion;
Laurie Diehl of Port Huron; Paula Diehl of Flushing; 2 Sisters: Grace Goodenough
and Thelma Dowen of both of Flushing; He was preceded in death by a Grandson
Curtis Diehl and 3 Brothers, Clarence, Earl , Frank Diehl.

She married Dallas Washburn July 28, 1951. She is survived husband: Dallas;

Della and husband Dean Ashby of Skidway Lake, Michigan; Dallas and wife

Brothers and 3 Sisters. She was preceded in death by a son Don E. Washburn

Age 89 of Genesee Twp. died Friday March 26, 1999 at his home. Funeral

in Paragould Arkansas the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed and Mary C. (Barnes) Bowman.
He and Verdell Johnson were united in marriage November 30, 1929. He retired
from Buick as a supervisor with 26 years of service. He was a member of
the Trinity Assembly of God Church. Surviving are wife: Verdell; 5 children:

over 30 years and was choir director the past 10 years. Ann worked for
many years at University of Michigan Flint. Surviving are her husband:

Age 71, of Mt. Morris, died at his residence Monday March 22, 1999.

marriage September 12, 1987. He was a veteran of WWII, the Korean Conflict
and Vietnam. He served in the U.S. Army for over 28 years, 3 wars including
4 tours of duty in Vietnam. He was awarded Bronze Star, Air Medal and the
Vietnamese Gallantry Cross with palm, and the Purple Heart. He was a member
of Otter Lake VFW Post. After his retirement from the U.S. Army he was
employed with Zody Department stores and St. Joseph Hospital security retiring
again 1989. Survivors include: wife Ginger; sons and daughters: Emma and
husband Matt Maurice; Douglas Grant and Tina Jacob; Donald Grant and Kelly;
Debbie Berry; Rick Grant and Leanne; Joy and husband James De Herraha;

A veteran of WWII serving with the US Army 1939 - 1948. He received Good

Eastern Theater Ribbon, WWII Silver Battle Star, 3 Overseas Service bars,
1 Service Stripe. He fought in the Invasion of Normandy Northern France,
Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe and Battle of the Bulge. He was employed
at Buick for 37 years. Surviving are: son; J. Marshall Schoonover of Huntington

Mrs. Keyes was born in Wisner Twp. on August 6, 1915, the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Alvin and Amy (Johnson) Ruppert. She worked for Prestolite in

of Fairgrove Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed her many friends and was
always there with a helping hand for anyone in need. Thelma enjoyed making
quilts for friends and family. She made baby quilts for babies born with

Gerald Francis Peplinski
Of Vassar Michigan age 69, died Wednesday March 10, 1999 at his residence.
Gerald was born August 29, 1929 in Cedar, Michigan the son of Bernard and
Lucille (Galla) Peplinski. He married Doris Ann O'Brien April 21, 1952
at St. Mary's Church in Lake Leelanau, Michigan. He served in the U.S.
Army as a Cpl. in the 711 Airborne Ordinance. Prior to his retirement in
1995 he had been employed as a Machinist for General Motors for 45 years.
He had also engaged in hobby farming since 1954 and where he spent time
with family and grandchildren. He is survived by: Wife Doris Ann Peplinski;
3 daughters: Diane Peplinski; Donna and husband Michael Tedford; Denise
and husband Tony Amend; 6 sons: Kenneth Peplinski,; Wayne Peplinski; Douglas
Peplinski; Gerald A. and wife Frances Peplinski; Kevin and wife Robin Peplinski;
Mark Peplinski and Friend Anita.; 8 Grandchildren: Troy and Chad, Brandon,
Abbey and Jared, Joshua and Lydia, Chandler. Brothers: Raymond and Edward
Peplinski ; Sisters Winnie, Dorothy, Adaline, Marie, Lillian, Irene and
Theresa. He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Lucille Peplinski,
Brothers Aloysius and Bernard Jr. and a Sister Beatrice who died in infancy.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place 1:00 P.M. Saturday March 13,1999
at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Vassar, Rev. Richard T.
Szafranski will officiate. Graveside Military service under the direction
of Millington American Legion Post #164 will Tuscola Twp. Cemetery. The
family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar from 10:00AM
- 9:00 PM Friday and from 9:00 AM- 12 noon Saturday. A Scripture Service
will be held at 7:00 PM Friday. Memorial contributions may be directed

Joanne Marie VanHorn
Of Vassar, age 50, died Monday, March 8, 1999 at St. Marys Hospital,
Saginaw. Funeral services will be at Martin Funeral Home-Clark Chapel,
Vassar Thursday, March 11 11:00 AM, Pastor Scott Lindner officiating, Burial

Wednesday 10-12, 1-5, and 7-9PM. Mrs. VanHorn was born June 25, 1948 in
Saginaw, the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. A. Lee and Edna Marie (Lockhart)
Miller. She and Bruce VanHorn were united in marriage November 26, 1966
in Vassar. She had been employed as a production worker for Eaton Corporation.

Thelma was born September 1, 1918 in Fairgrove the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Roy and Carrie (Mclaren) Sylvester. She and Wallace Ruppert were united
in marriage November 11, 1939 at Fairgrove Presbyterian Church. Her hobbies
included needlework, being a 4-H leader, and her family. Left to cherish

Robert J. Stoutenburg Sr.
Of North Branch, formerly of Flint and Mission, TX. age 75, died Saturday
March 6, 1999 at McLaren Hospice at Kith Haven. Funeral services will be
1:30pm Wednesday from Miles Martin Funeral Home. Burial in Flint Memorial

in 1982. For several years in their retirement they lived at Mission TX
before recently moving to North Branch. Retired from Fisher Body II and

Ralph W. Pollard
Age 76, of Mt. Morris died March 5, 1999 at home. Funeral services will
be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mt. Morris, Monday, March 8, 1999
at 11:00AM, Rev. Fr. Raymond Urbanek officiating with burial in New Calvary
Cemetery. The family will received friends at Miles T. Martin Funeral Home,

church from 10:00AM until time of service. Mr. Pollard was born March 28,
1922 in Flint, Michigan to Mr. & Mrs. William A. And Florence P. Pollard.
He and Rita M. Cunningham were united in marriage on December 27, 1941.
He was employed at A.C. Spark Plug, retiring in 1975 after 33 years of
service. Mr. Pollard served with the 9th Air Service Squadron in the Pacific
Operation during WWII. Surviving are his wife: Rita Mae; Son, Ralph W.
Jr., and wife Elizabeth of Lake Wales, Florida; Daughter, Catherine and
husband, Jim Burgess of Columbiaville; 2 granddaughters: Allison Bewley
