Schoeppach Dec. 29, 1945. He served in the U.S.Navy during WW 2 and had been employed as a Bread Salesman for Schaefer Bakery for 40 years. Lloyd was a member of the U.C.T. and the Clare F.O.E #3977. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. (Barnes) Bowman. He and Verdell Johnson were united in marriage November 30, 1929. He retired from Buick as a supervisor with 26 years of service. He was a member of the Trinity Assembly of God Church. He was a veteran of WWII, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He served in the U.S. Army for over 28 years, 3 wars including 4 tours of duty in Vietnam. He was awarded Bronze Star, Air Medal and the Vietnamese Gallantry Cross with palm, and the Purple Heart. He was a member of Otter Lake VFW Post. After his retirement from the U.S. Army he was employed with Zody Department stores and St. Joseph Hospital security retiring again 1989. He preceded her in death September 1, 1969. Dollie was a Lifemember and Past Matron of Mt. Morris Chapter #474 OES. Surviving are her 2 sisters: Lois B. Moore of Farmington Hills; and Gladys I. Lear of Bloomfield Hills. 6 nieces and 3 nephews.

Mr. Schoonover was born July 1, 1916 in Boston, Massachusetts, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Schoonover. A veteran of WWII serving with the US Army 1939 - 1948. He received Good Conduct Ribbon, American Defense Service Ribbon, European -African -Middle Eastern Theater Ribbon, WWII Silver Battle Star, 3 Overseas Service bars, 1 Service Stripe. He fought in the Invasion of Normandy Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe and Battle of the Bulge. He was employed at Buick for 37 years. Surviving are: son; J. Marshall Schoonover of Huntington Beach, Ca,; daughter: Kellie Gay of Clio; son: Dennis Conway of Mt. She worked for Prestolite in Bay City for 27 years. Left to cherish her memory are Son: Walter and wife Sandy Keyes of Vassar; grandchildren: Scott and Karen Keyes of Toledo, Ohio; Lori and Scott Morris of Chesapeke, Va.; Steven and Becky Keyes of Sunrise, Fla.; Great-Grandchildren : Kristen , Erin, Randi, Robyn, and Kelsey Keyes, Lindsey Flores, Lance Flores, Zack Morris and Emily Keyes; two Brothers: Wallace Ruppert of Akron; Malcomb and wife Nancy Ruppert of Akron; Sister-in-law: Marge Ruppert of Fairgrove; several Nieces and Nephews. She lived in Gilford many years before moving to Fairgrove to care for her aging father. Thelma's past few months were spent at Frankenmuth Care Center. She was a member of Fairgrove Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed her many friends and was always there with a helping hand for anyone in need. Thelma enjoyed making quilts for friends and family. He married Doris Ann O'Brien April 21, 1952 at St. Mary's Church in Lake Leelanau, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army as a Cpl. in the 711 Airborne Ordinance. Prior to his retirement in 1995 he had been employed as a Machinist for General Motors for 45 years. He had also engaged in hobby farming since 1954 and where he spent time with family and grandchildren. He is survived by: Wife Doris Ann Peplinski; 3 daughters: Diane Peplinski; Donna and husband Michael Tedford; Denise and husband Tony Amend; 6 sons: Kenneth Peplinski,; Wayne Peplinski; Douglas Peplinski; Gerald A. and wife Frances Peplinski; Kevin and wife Robin Peplinski; Mark Peplinski and Friend Anita.; 8 Grandchildren: Troy and Chad, Brandon, Abbey and Jared, Joshua and Lydia, Chandler. Brothers: Raymond and Edward Peplinski ; Sisters Winnie, Dorothy, Adaline, Marie, Lillian, Irene and Theresa. He was preceded in death by his parents Bernard and Lucille Peplinski, Brothers Aloysius and Bernard Jr. and a Sister Beatrice who died in infancy. Mass of Christian Burial will take place 1:00 P.M. Saturday March 13,1999 at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church in Vassar, Rev. Richard T. Szafranski will officiate. Graveside Military service under the direction of Millington American Legion Post #164 will Tuscola Twp. Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Martin Funeral Home in Vassar from 10:00AM - 9:00 PM Friday and from 9:00 AM- 12 noon Saturday. A Scripture Service will be held at 7:00 PM Friday. Lee and Edna Marie (Lockhart) Miller. She and Bruce VanHorn were united in marriage November 26, 1966 in Vassar. She had been employed as a production worker for Eaton Corporation. She is survived by her husband: Bruce; 3 children: Michael Lee and wife Tammy VanHorn of Clinton Twp.; Lisa Marie Beach of Bradenton, FL; Gary W. VanHorn of Vassar; 3 grandchildren, Jolyn M. Thelma was born September 1, 1918 in Fairgrove the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy and Carrie (Mclaren) Sylvester. She and Wallace Ruppert were united in marriage November 11, 1939 at Fairgrove Presbyterian Church. Her hobbies included needlework, being a 4-H leader, and her family. Left to cherish her memory. Gordon A. Cornell

Of Mt. Morris died Saturday March 6, 1999 at home. Funeral service will take place 11 am Wednesday March 10, 1999 at Miles Martin Funeral Home. Pastor Rob Prince officiating. Gordon was born January 22, 1911 in Minnesota to George and Mary (Damm) Cornell. He was life long resident of Mt. Morris and served on the school board, also he was a WWII Veteran serving in the Army. Gordon retired from A&P in 1972 with 37 years of service. He was a member of the Richfield Church of the Nazarene. Survivors : wife Nora Cornell; children: Donald & wife Christy Cornell ; Kathleen & husband Daniel Cerano; William & wife Pat Priest; Daniel & wife Kathy Priest; Vernon & wife Barbara Buckley; 8 grand children; 15 great grand children; sister Mildred & husband Earl Van House. Robert J. Stoutenburg Sr.
Of North Branch, formerly of Flint and Mission, TX. age 75, died Saturday March 6, 1999 at McLaren Hospice at Kith Haven. Funeral services will be 1:30pm Wednesday from Miles Martin Funeral Home. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6pm Monday. Family wil be present to receive friends Monday 6-9pm and Tuesday from 1-4pm and 6-9pm. Morris March 28, 1923 the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur J. and Mildred (Orr) Stoutenburg. He married Lillian Randall in 1943. She preceded him in death Oct. 21, 1981. Bob then married Evelyn Heck of Lapeer in 1982. For several years in their retirement they lived at Mission TX before recently moving to North Branch. Retired from Fisher Body II and was a veteran of WWII. Surviving are: wife Evelyn; son: Robert and wife Connie Stoutenburg of Clio; 2 stepchildren: Alan and wife Deborah Heck of Lapeer; Connie and husband Paul Henne of North Branch; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sister: Gail and husband Harry Mathews of Gladwin; sister-in-law: Eleanor Stoutenburg of Florida; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife Lillian, grandson Brian, brother James, and sister Alberta. 

Ralph W. Pollard 

Age 76, of Mt. Morris died March 5, 1999 at home. Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Mt. Morris, Monday, March 8, 1999 at 11:00AM, Rev. Fr. Raymond Urbanek officiating with burial in New Calvary Cemetery. The family will received friends at Miles T. Martin Funeral Home, Saturday, 5-8 pm and Sunday, 12-7pm. Mr. Pollard will lie in state at the church from 10:00AM until time of service. Mr. Pollard was born March 28, 1922 in Flint, Michigan to Mr. & Mrs. William A. And Florence P. Pollard. He and Rita M. Cunningham were united in marriage on December 27, 1941. He was employed at A.C. Spark Plug, retiring in 1975 after 33 years of service. Mr. Pollard served with the 9th Air Service Squadron in the Pacific Operation during WWII. Surviving are his wife: Rita Mae; Son, Ralph W. Jr., and wife Elizabeth of Lake Wales, Florida; Daughter, Catherine and husband, Jim Burgess of Columbiaville; 2 granddaughters: Allison Bewley of Kalamazoo; Cathy, and husband Ross Hallman of Bremerton, Washington; 4 grandsons: Chad and wife Cindy Bewley of Perry, Michigan;Andrew and wife Lisa Burgess of Orange County, California; Steven and wife Angela Burgess of Hudsonville, Michigan; Erik Pollard of Lake Wales, Florida ; 5 great grandchildren: Shalie Shannon of Aurora, Colorado; Shelby and Erica Hallman of Brimerton, Washington; and Jordyn and Mitchell Burgess of Hudsonville, Michigan; 2 sisters:Florence Cooper of Flushing ; Phyllis and husband Dwaine Wylie of Birch Run; 1 brother: Earl Pollard, of Grand Blanc; Mr. Pollard was preceeded in death by his parents, brothers, Joseph, Lyle, Kenneth and Edwin, sister, Opal Borden, and half-sister Crystal Chard.
