Mr. Joseph P. Ferreira, Sr., of East Chelmsford, MA. died July 4, 2000 at Saints Memorial Medical Center in Lowell after a lengthy illness. He was married to Mrs. Mary E. (Vieira) Ferreira with whom he celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on June 30. Born in Camacha, Madeira, Portugal on April 2, 1914, son of the late Manuel and Maria (Texeira) Ferreira. He was educated in the Chelmsford School System. He was employed with the Town of Chelmsford School System in the Maintenance Department before his retirement. He was also a skilled carpenter and had an appreciation for woodworking, farming and gardening. He was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Lowell, MA. He was a member of the Chelmsford Senior Citizens Club. Besides his wife, he is survived by his four children, Carolina Christenson and her husband Earl of East Chelmsford, Joseph P. and his wife Jacqueline (Duffy) Ferreira, Jr., of Westford, Robert Ferreira and his friend Judith Parker both of New London, NH, and David Ferreira and his fiance Paula Desmond both of Lowell, a brother Charles and his wife Catherine (Welch) Ferreira of Chelmsford, a sister Clemmentina Marchand of Chelmsford, fifteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Mary Garcia of East Chelmsford, and was the brother-in-law of Manual Garcia and Albert Marchand.

Mr. Eugene F. St. Onge of Moultonboro, NH., formerly of Chelmsford, MA. died July 22, 2000 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford, MA. He was married to Mrs. Rita M. (Riberdy) St. Onge with whom he would have celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on Sept. 25, 2000. Born in Westford, MA. on Aug. 16, 1928 the son of the late Eugene F. & Julia (Tilton) St. Onge. He was a graduate of the Lowell Public Schools. He and wife lived in Chelmsford for over 25 years before moving to Moultonboro, NH. 8 years ago. Over the years he was employed with the H.E. Fletcher Granite Quarry in Westford, MA., the Avco Corp. in Lawrence, MA., Lowell, MA., & Wilmington, MA., and from 1974 until his retirement in 1992 he was the Facilities Manager at Philips Academy in Andover, MA. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Chelmsford, MA. He enjoyed hunting and was a member of the Moultonboro, NH. Sportsman Club. Besides his wife he is survived by two sons and their wives Wayne R. & Jeannette (Lau) St. Onge of Colma, CA., and Gary E. & Diane (Franchi) St. Onge of Chelmsford, MA., and a sister Arlene Gauvreau of Lowell, MA., and five grandchildren Jon St. Onge Kevin St. Onge, and Katherine St. Onge, Janice Jones & Jason Jones. Mr. Arnold Beaulieu of North Chelmsford, MA. died July 22, 2000 at his home. He was married to Mrs. Una I. (Bechard)(Cote) Beaulieu with whom he celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on April 6, 2000. Born in Chelmsford on June 5, 1924 the son of the late Joseph and Irene (Sortwell) Beaulieu. He was a graduate of Chelmsford High School with the class of 1941. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, in the Asiatic Pacific Theater. Over the years he was employed with the H.E. Fletcher Granite Quarry in Westford and for 20 years he was a Corrections Officer with M.C.I. Concord retiring on June 30, 1979. He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. He was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1968. Over the years he was employed with the Raytheon Corp. in Andover, MA, and then for about 10 years he worked at many casinos in Las Vegas, NV, then the Commodities Markets in Chicago, IL, and for many years as an auto salesman with Hallisey Chevrolet, in Lowell, Lowell Ford at Drum Hill, The Talarico Auto Dealer in Milford, NH, and for the last 7 years he was self employed as a Home Improvement Specialist. He enjoyed playing golf. He is survived by his dear friend Joanne Doherty of Lowell, MA, a daughter Danielle Ralls of Roscoe, IL, his former wife, Barbara F. He was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1929, and St. John's Prep School in 1931. He was self-employed as a bookkeeper with his family business in Lowell. He was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church of Lowell. He was a member and avid golfer at Mt. Pleasant Golf & Country Club in Lowell. Besides his wife he is survived by four sons and three daughters-in-law Raymond J. and Rosemary (Serock) Brooks of Hobe Sound, Fl, Richard and Barbara (Kerouac) Brooks of Chester, NH, Robert Brooks of Bristol, TN, Russell and Leslie (Callan) Brooks of Bonita Springs, FL, 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Miss Irene M. Mitchell of Westford, died July 28, 2000, at the Palm Manor Nursing Home in Chelmsford. Born in Tyngsboro, MA, on June 7, 1909, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Anne (Fagnan) Mitchell. She graduated from Lowell High School with the class of 1927, received her B.S. of Education from Lowell Normal School, her Master's of Education from Rivier College in Nashua and her C.G.S. from Boston University. Over the years She taught English in North Hyde Park, VT, Pepperell, Tyngsboro, Dunstable, Westford Academy, and Kinder-Care in Chelmsford before retiring in 1982. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Chelmsford and was the Past Prefect of St. John's Blessed Virgin Sodality. She was a member of the Mass. State Association of Retired Teachers, Middlesex North Teacher Assoc., National Teachers Assoc., and the National Council of Teachers of English. She is survived by a sister Mildred L. Kitchenka of S. Dennis, MA, beloved "GiGi" Geryl Dritz and her husband, William Dritz, and her grandchildren, Ryan And Aaron Dritz, all of Ballston Lake, NY, and many cousins. She was the sister of the late Ralph J. Mitchell of Manchester, NH.

Mr. Jerry J. Serra of Bradford, RI died July 31, 2000 at his son and daughter-in-law's home in Chelmsford, MA. He was married to the late Mrs. Lenora (DiPaola) Serra who died on Dec. 26, 1995. Born in Bradford, RI on May 12, 1912 the son of the late Joseph and Margaret (Algiere) Serra. He was educated in the Westerly, RI. School System. Over the years he enjoyed fur trapping and taxidermy, he owned and operated Jerry Serra's Fur and Leather Business, he was employed with the Bradford Dying Association, he raised horses and raced them, and for many years he owned and operated the Dunes Park Beach in Weekapaug, RI. He was a communicant of St. Vincent de Paul Church in Bradford, RI. He was a member of the Bradford Skeet & Gun Club, Bradford Citizens Club, Calabrese Club, Italo American Club, and the Bradford Volunteer Fire Department. Vennard who died March 24, 1969, and the late Francis R. Wilson who died March 13, 1987. Born in Fitchburg, MA, on March 25, 1914, the daughter of the late Alfred F. and Elenora (Snell) McSheehy. She was a graduate of Chelmsford High School and the Valedictorian of the Class of 1931. She was employed with Norman E. Day Electrical Company in Westford, as a Bookkeeper for over 20 years. She was a member of the North Chelmsford Congregational Church, where she also participated as the past Choir Director, and a member of the West Dennis Congregational Church. CELIA M. MURATORE OF CHELMSFORD
Mrs. Celia M. (Pasqualino) Muratore of Chelmsford died August 5, 2000 at Lowell General Hospital. Born in Brooklyn, NY. on October 17, 1923, the daughter of the late Frank and Concetta (Persico) Pasqualino, she graduated John Adams High School in Queens, NY, in the class of 1941. Celia married Mr. Joseph J. Muratore on September 17, 1949 and had four children with him. He died April 22, 1964. Before marriage, she was employed with an insurance company in New York as a key-punch operator. Years later, she worked with the Housekeeping Dept. at the Little Flower Nursing Home in East Islip, NY, retiring in 1986. Celia was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Chelmsford. She was a member of the Knights of Columbus Columbiettes in Huntington Station, N.Y., and belonged to many parish organizations such as the Rosarians at St. Peter's Church in Islip Terrace, N.Y. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Stephen S. and Rachael (Anderson) Muratore of Chico, CA, and Joseph J. and Judith (Libman) Muratore of North Chelmsford; two daughters and a son-in-law, Irene and Joseph Clark of Islip Terrace, N.Y., and Christine Muratore of Chico, CA; five grandchildren, Adam, Heather and Ariana Clark, and Lucas and Chiara Muratore, and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gladys M. (Ackerley) Belluche of Billerica, died August 6, 2000 at the Willow Manor Nursing Home. Born in Cambridge, MA, on July 25, 1918, the daughter of the late Harry B. and Jeannette M. (Reed) Ackerley. She was educated in the Cambridge, MA, School System. A retiree of the FMI Corp. of Billerica in 1980, she was employed in the past with Daggetts Chocolate Co. in Cambridge, MA, Nabisco Co. in Cambridge, MA, and the Raytheon Corp. in Waltham. She was a communicant of St. Anne's Church of Billerica. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jeannette M. and James A. Merksamer of Deerfield Beach, FL, a son and daughter-in-law, Charles H. and Linda (DeVeto) Belluche of Royal Palm Beach, FL, a brother, Harry B. Ackerley of Lady Lake, FL, five grandchildren, Michelle Merksamer and her friend John Farrell of Chelmsford, Jeff and Linda Merksamer of CA, James and Lisa Merksamer of Halifax, MA, Gary and Lynn Merksamer of Lowell, and Wendy Collier of Pepperell, eleven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. JEAN E. NOY FORMERLY OF ARLINGTON
Mrs. Jean E. (Hurd) Noy, 97 of Chelmsford formerly of Arlington, died August 7, 2000 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford after a long illness. She was the widow of Clarence A. Noy who died July 19, 1980. Born in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada on Oct. 16, 1902, she was one of nine children born to the late John M. and Margaret (MacKandy) Hurd. She was the last survivor of the Hurd family. A 1920 graduate of Cambridge High and Latin School, she worked for five years prior to marriage at the Cambridge Gas and Electric Company as a bookkeeper. Jean loved to read and sew and write poetry. She enjoyed the coast of Maine and Martha's Vineyard. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Arlington. A 61-year resident of Arlington, she moved to Chelmsford in 1987. Survivors include her son, Rev. Robert A. Noy and his wife Elsa of Chelmsford, granddaughters, Bette Kacavas and her husband James of Chelmsford, and Laurie Fitzgerald and her husband John of Stratham, NH. Great-grandchildren include Julie and Sarah Kacavas of Chelmsford, and Allison, Ryan and Samantha Fitzgerald of Stratham, NH. Her sister-in-law, Patricia Noy of Arlington, her cousin Gertrude Mayne of Vancouver, BC, and Curtis Prest of Whitefield, NH, also survives her. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Nancy Jane Noy, her brothers Douglas, Reginald, Donald and John, and sisters Erna Chandler, Margaret Kelly, Ruth Nutter and Dorothy Noy.

Born in Lowell, MA. on July 10, 1928 the daughter of the late Loring Kew who was the Sheriff of Middlesex County at the time of his death, and Bertha May (Greene)(Kew) Dooley. She was a graduate of Howe High School in Billerica, MA., with the class of 1945, and Fisher Jr. College in Boston, with the class of 1947. Over the years she was employed as a stenographer at the Middlesex Court in Cambridge, MA., and as a secretary with the Ames Worsted Mills in Lowell, MA., Lowell Technical Institute, the Raytheon Corp. in Waltham, MA., as a Kindergarten teacher in Chelmsford, and as a bookkeeper with her husband's company Connie Chemical Co. She was a member of the Mount Hope Christian Center in Burlington, MA., the Chelmsford Town Republican Party, League of Woman Voters, Chelmsford Garden Club. She also volunteered at Lowell General Hospital, and was a Superintendent and Sunday School Teacher at the Central Congregational Church in Chelmsford. Born in Beverly, MA, on February 13, 1907, the daughter of the late James and Agnes A. (Davie) Knox. She was educated in the Chelmsford School System. She was employed as a Machine Operator at the Southwell Combing Mills in North Chelmsford until her retirement in 1969. She was a member of the North Chelmsford Congregational Church, and a member of the AFL-CIO Union at the Southwell Combing Mill. She is survived by a son, Douglas J. and his wife Matilda (Capuano) Logan of Elizabethtown, PA, two daughters, Jean Pearson and Linda and her husband Raymond Therrien of North Chelmsford, 12 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandson. She was the mother of the late John D. Logan of Merrimack, NH, who died in 1980, and great-grandmother of the late Lindsay D. Bastien of Dracut who died in 1997.

She was an avid Bingo Player at St. John the Evangelist Church in Chelmsford and also at the Chelmsford Elks Club. Besides her husband she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law Brian and Cynthia (Babbit) Polewarczyk of Groton, two daughters and their husbands Valerie and Gerald Barclay of Westford, Lisa and Stephen Kouropoulos of New Ipswich, NH a brother and sister-in-law Warren and Ann (Kilbride) Henderson of Nashua, NH. She is also survived by six grandchildren Justin Barclay, Stacy Barclay, Spencer Polewarczyk, Mason Polewarczyk, Matthew Kouropoulos, and Andrew Kouropoulos. She was the sister of the late Marilyn Monty of Westford who passed away in 1978 and the late Marsha Melle of Chelmsford who passed away in 1994.

BRONES JUREWICZ OF WESTFORD
Mr. Brones Jurewicz of Westford, MA. died August 26, 2000 at the Apple Valley Nursing Home in Ayer, MA. He was married to Mrs. Regina A. (Robichaud) Jurewicz with whom he celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on May 14, 2000. Born in Lowell, MA. on Aug. 22, 1912, the son of the late Andrew and Jadwiga (Piekarska) Jurewicz. He was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1929, also attended Lowell Technical Institute, and Boston University. Mr. Jurewicz had a passion for athletics. He was a Lowell High School football and baseball star and excelled at many other sporting activities. In 1930-1933 he played professional baseball with the Lowell Twilight League. During World War II he served with the U.S. Army as a 1st Lt. receiving a Bronze Star Medal, the Philippine Liberation Medal with a Bronze Star, Asiatic Service Medal with a Bronze Arrowhead, and the American Service Medal World War II, and then he served with the Massachusetts Army National Guard for about twenty years attaining the rank of Major retiring in 1961. He was employed with John Hancock Life Insurance Co. as an agent for over 38 years retiring in 1972. He was a communicant of St. Catherine's Church in Westford, and St. John the Evangelist Church in Chelmsford, MA. He was a member of Westford V.F.W. Post, American Legion Post in Westford, Past Member of the Nabnasset Country Club where he enjoyed playing golf, and the Westford Senior Citizens Club Bowling League.
