Stella (Bomil) Poznick of Lowell died June 3, 2000 at the Northwood Nursing Home in Lowell after a long illness. She was married to the late Frank Poznick, who died in 1976. Born in Chelmsford, MA, on Dec. 18, 1917 the daughter of the late Walter and Della (Chorbacy) Bomil. She attended the Chelmsford school system and lived her early years in Chelmsford. Over the years She worked as a Machine Operator at United Elastic Co. and Nylon Engineering Co. both in Lowell. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church. In the past she was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church and St. Joseph's Lithuanian Church, and Sacred Heart Church in Lowell. She was the sister of the late John Bomil, Charles "Bobby Brown" Bomil, and Steve Bomil all of N. Chelmsford and the late Frances Gagne of CA. She is survived by four sons, Frederick Poznick of Greenwood, SC, Thomas and his wife Joanne Poznick of Ann Arbor, MI, Robert and his wife (Karen) Poznick of Plaistow, NH, and Stephen Poznick of Littleton, MA, a brother, Joseph Bomil of N. Chelmsford, eight grandchildren, Linda Plageman of Sherbourn, MA, Fred Poznick Jr. of Greenwood, SC, Cheryl Slattery of ME, Lisa Pomerleau of Manchester, NH, Krista Daley of Fremont, NH, Tom Poznick Jr. of Ann Arbor, MI, Rachael Poznick, and Christopher Poznick, two step-grandchildren Heather Morton, and Joel Morton all of Littleton, 13 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Josephine E. Hanson of Lowell, died June 5, 2000 at the Fairhaven Nursing Home in Lowell, MA. Born in Chicago, IL, on May 27, 1908. She graduated from High School in Chicago, IL. She was employed as a Telephone Operator with the Wisconsin Telephone Company for over 20 years. Mrs. Hanson was a communicant of St John the Evangelist Church of North Chelmsford. She was a member of Telephone Pioneer's. Mrs. Hanson was the sister of the late Anne Brown of Menomonie, WI, Marie Ortner of Chicago, IL, and Hedwig Ortner of Chicago, IL. Her survivors include one son and daughter in law, Richard and Jeanette (Nadeau) Hanson of Lowell, one brother, Fred Krause of St Paul, MI, five grandchildren, Mrs. Robert (Catherine) Blaise of Lowell, Carolyn Misner of Lawrence, Patricia Lowe of Belfast, ME, Mrs. George (Joyce) McCormick of Tyngsboro, Julie Hanson of Lowell, several great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Salome "Sally" I. (Lawton) Kershaw of Lowell, died June 4, 2000 at the Willow Manor Nursing Home in Lowell. She was married to the late Mr. John W. Kershaw who died January 8, 1955. Born in Norridgewock, ME, on October 6, 1903, the daughter of the late Lewllyn F. and Annie B. (Flanders) Lawton. She was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1921. Mrs. Kershaw was employed with The Cherry and Webb Department Store in Downtown Lowell for many years as a sales manager retiring in 1973. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Lowell, and the Chelmsford Baptist Church. Mrs. Kershaw was a member of the American legion Auxiliary Lawrence Post #15, and the 40 + 8 Auxiliary. Mrs. Kershaw's survivors include one son Ralph and his wife Dorothy (Kelleher) Markee of North Andover, one daughter Eunice L. Blanchard of Port Huron, MI, seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and seven great- great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Earl Jones of Lowell, Norman Jones of Holden, MA, Vira Jones of Skowhegan, ME, Edith Churchey of Worcester, Avis Robertson of Wilmington, and Lillian Erickson of North Chelmsford.

Mrs. Elizabeth "BETTY" (Benoit) McGovern of North Chelmsford, MA. died June 6, 2000 at the Lowell General Hospital. She was married to the late Edward J. McGovern who died on Feb. 4, 1992. Born in Westford, MA, on April 20, 1915, the daughter of the late Arthur and Philemon (Dupont) Benoit. She was educated in the Westford School System. Over the years she was employed with the Abbott Worestered Mills in Westford, and the Forge Mills in Lowell from where she retired in 1969. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in North Chelmsford, MA. She enjoyed her flower gardening and her crocheting. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Judith and Martin Vowels of North Chelmsford, and Paula and Martin Downey of Weymouth, MA, a sister Laura Ducharme of Greensboro, NC, six grandchildren, Martin Vowels Jr. of Westford, MA, Kathleen and her husband Scott Brunkhardt of Hollis, NH, Stephen Vowels of Providence, RI, Stephanie and her husband John Bonarrigo of Medway, MA, and Shannon Downey and Brian Downey both of Weymouth, MA, one great-grandson Jonathan Brunkhardt of Hollis, NH, and many nieces and nephews. BRIAN GOULDEN MILFORD, NH. POLICE OFFICIER
Brian Goulden age 32, of Nashua, NH. died in an auto accident June 7, 2000 and was pronounced dead at St. Joseph's Hospital in Nashua, NH. He was married to Mrs. Kristin (Davis) Goulden with whom he celebrated their 6th wedding anniversary on May 7, 2000. Born in Groton, MA. on March 9, 1968, the son of Thomas and Patricia (Beniot) Goulden. He was a graduate of Westford Academy High School with the class of 1986. In the past he served with the U.S. Coast Guard for four years. He served as a full time police officer with the Town of Milford, NH. for the past two years, and was a part time Police Officer with the Town of Brookline, NH. for the past three years. He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in North Chelmsford, MA., and the Immaculate Conception Church in Nashua, NH. He was a member of New Hampshire Police Association and the New Hampshire Emerald Society, Milford's Patrolman's Union, he was also an assistant baseball coach with the Nashua Youth Little League. Kimball who died Sept. 1, 1961. Born in Haverhill, MA. on April 14, 1913 the daughter of the late Brent and Florence (Fish) Johnson. She was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1932 For most of life, she worked as a cashier at Bedford V.A. Hospital before retiring in 1965. During World War II she worked at the Remington Arms Co. and the Lowell Parachute Co. She attended the West Chelmsford Untied Methodist Church, St. Paul's Methodist Church in Lowell, and the Highland Union Methodist Church. She was a charter member of the Eastern Star # 54, was Past President of the American Legion Post # 437 Auxiliary in Nabnassett. (Past County Officer in Middlesex County, past Chapeau of the 8 & 40, and the Chelmsford P.T.A.), she volunteered at the Bedford V.A. Hospital. She is survived by a daughter and her husband Florence and James Hassett of Lowell, MA., and two sons and their wives Harry W. and his wife Rebecca (Smith) Kimball of Virginia Beach, VA., Kenneth A. and his wife Debra (Cerrone) Kimball of Charlotte, NC., a twin brother Victory P. She was married to the late Joseph Dirubbo who died on July 13, 1977. Born in New Bedford, MA. on Dec. 5, 1910 the daughter of the late John and Amelia (Bettencourt) Medeiros. Educated in the Lowell School System. For over 23 years she was employed with the Lowell Shuttle Co. and then for 10 years with the Bridge Table, Inc., and then her last employment was the Raytheon Corp. in Lowell retiring in 1963. She and her husband had lived in North Chelmsford for many years until Joseph pass away and then she moved back to Lowell, MA. She was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Lowell, MA. She is survived by a sister Bella Himber of Haverhill, Ma., and several nieces and nephews among them is a niece and godchild Ann Marie Cote of Lowell, Blanche Mullin of Dracut, MA. and a nephew Harry Himber of Andover, MA. Mrs. Anna B. (MacNeil)(Simpson) Salvia died June 19, 2000 at the Palm Manor Nursing Home in Chelmsford, MA. She was married to the late James V. Salvia and the late Harold B. Simpson. Born in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada the daughter of the late Neil and Christine Anne (MacDonald) MacNeil. She was educated in Canada. Mrs. Salvia moved to the United States at the age of 17. In 1964 she returned to Canada to retire, and in 1993, moved to North Chelmsford. She was a member of the Chelmsford Senior Citizens Club. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Audrey M. and John F. McBride of North Chelmsford, five grandchildren, Paula and her husband Paul Hodgkins of Madbury, NH, Ann Marie and her husband John DeRose of Harvard, MA, Carrie and her husband Gary Bond of Cronulla, Australia, Stephen and his wife Lynne St. Hilaire of Lowell, and Kenneth St. Hilaire of Chelmsford, and nine great-grandchildren. Mr. Robert M. Gallagher of Chelmsford, MA, died June 19, 2000 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. Born in Waltham, MA. on July 7, 1935, the son of the late Matthew and Mary (Cody) Gallagher. He was a graduate of Newton High School with the class of 1952. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed with the Raytheon Corporation as a Millwright until his retirement in 1995. He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in N. Chelmsford. He was a member and past commander of the American Legion Post 313, and achieved the title of President. Mr. Gallagher was also a member the Fletcher Club Stoney Brook Sportsman Club in Westford, and the Korean War Society. He is survived by his loving companion Sandra Reed of Chelmsford, two sons, Robert M. and his wife Sondra (Freeman) Gallagher of Bedford, MA, Richard M. Duffany with whom she would have celebrated their 28th wedding anniversary on Dec. 29, 2000, and was the former wife of the late John Scanlon. Born in Lowell, MA. on May 7, 1920, the daughter of the late Alfred and Mabel (Beauregard) Trudel. She was educated in the Lowell school system. Over the years she was employed with the Stewart's Dept. Store in Lowell, and was a waitress at the Club fleur-de-lis in Tyngsboro, and the American Legion Post in Westford. She and her husband Peter lived in Westford for about 9 years and for the past 18 years they have lived in Chelmsford. She was a communicant of St. Catherine's Church in Westford, MA. She was married to the late Joseph H. Kennedy who died July 12, 1991. Born in Dexter, ME. on July 10, 1917, daughter of the late Frank and Sadie (Higgins) Belanger. She was a graduate of Dexter High School with the class of 1933, and St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing. Mrs. Kennedy lived in North Chelmsford for over forty years and over the years was employed as a nurse, by the Town and Country Nursing Home and the former Ferris Hospital both in Lowell, MA. In 1992 she moved to Marietta, GA., then in 1993 to her home in Essex Junction, VT. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in North Chelmsford, MA. JOHN C. CAFISO OF SEABROOK, NH
Mr. John C. Cafiso of Seabrook, NH. died June 18, 2000 at the Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, MA. He was married to Mrs. Alice G. (Coughlin) Cafiso with whom he celebrated their 65th anniversary on Feb. 9, 2000. Born in Methuen on April 13, 1908, the son of the late Salvatore and Marie (De Salvo) Cafiso. He was a graduate of Methuen High School with the class of 1927, and received his degree in Business Administration at Northeastern University in 1931. In his early years he was employed with Sears and Roebucks as an assistant store manager in their Lowell and Quincy, MA. locations, and later at Hub Hosiery in Lowell. In 1949 he founded and co-owned the North Chelmsford Hardware Store, and in 1952 the Silver Lake Hardware Store in Wilmington, MA., retiring in 1973. He was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, in N. Chelmsford. He was a member of the North Chelmsford K of C , and the Senior Citizens club in Seabrook, NH. He was the first full-year president of the Chelmsford Lions Club, the Director and Man of the Year in 1962 of the Wilmington Rotary Club, past President of the Happy Senior Citizens Club for three years in Seabrook, NH , and the first Chairman of the Seabrook, NH. Housing Authority, and the Director and Coordinator of Bingo for the seniors at Golden Crest in Dunedin, Florida. He and his wife lived in North Chelmsford from 1948 to 1970, moving to Wilmington until 1977 when they moved to their current Seabrook, NH home. They also wintered in Florida. He was the brother of the late Joseph Cafiso of Methuen, and Frances (Cafiso) Tombarelli of Salem, NH Besides his wife he is survived by three daughters and sons- in-law, Ann M. and Robert Selfridge of Westford, Marion F. and Richard Auger of Dunedin, Fl., and Joan R. and Richard Morrison of Westford, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was educated in Cambodia. She first came to the U.S. in 1981 and lived in Tenn., in 1987 moved to Lowell, MA., in 1989 moved to Attleboro, MA., and in 1997 moved to Worcester, MA. Over the years she was employed with Untron Electronic Co., and also the Crazy Co. both in Attleboro, MA. She was a member of the Trairatanaram Budist Temple in North Chelmsford, MA. Besides her husband she is survived by a son Richard Chen of Worcester, MA., five daughters and their husbands Chanthy Chea and her husband Bunnath Sor of Dracut, MA., Chanthou Chea and her husband Roeun Loch of Worcester, MA., Chantoun Chea and her husband Vothy Gnek, Chantha Chea and her husband Soth Pream and Chanthea Chea all of Lowell, MA., three sisters Tim Phal of Lowell, MA., Meov Phal of Cambodia, and Yim Phal of PA., and four sisters Chrouch Phal, of PA., Chhoeun Phal of Lowell, MA., San Phal, Vannsay phall both of PA.

Mrs. Shirley J. (Francis) (Rogers) Jacobs of East Falmouth, MA. formerly of Chelmsford, and Lowell, MA. died June 24, 2000 at the Genesis House in Westford, MA. She was the beloved wife of Charles E. Jacobs with whom she celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary on May 1, 2000. Born in Lowell, MA. on Feb. 2, 1930, the daughter of the late George and Hazel (Dupont) Francis. She was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1948, and Kathleen Dell School. She was employed with the Raytheon Corp. as an executive secretary and manager in Bedford, and Andover from 1974 to 1987 when she retired, and in her earlier years she was employed with Lowell Technical Institute, and in Dr. Berman's Office, and was a librarian at Harvard University. She was a communicant of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Falmouth, MA., All Saints Episcopal Church in Chelmsford, MA. She was an active member in church affairs at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Falmouth, MA., she was a delegate to the Diocesan Convention and was past-president of the Episcopal Church Women Club of the parish, and was a member of the Falmouth Garden Club. In the past she was a communicant of All Saint's Episcopal Church in Chelmsford, MA. Besides her husband she is survived by a daughter Lori C. She was married to the late Pasquale Napolitano who died in Oct. of 1955 at the age of 42. Born in Charlestown, MA. the daughter of the late Paul and Antoinette Marashio.
