Mrs. Jane (Bienvenue) Mills of Lowell died Sept. 2, 1999 at the Lowell General Hospital. She was married to Mr. Cliff Mills with whom she celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on Aug. 30. Born in Manchester, NH, on Feb. 4, 1923, the daughter of the late Joseph L and Exonia (Martel) Bienvenue. She was educated in the Lowell School System. In her early years she was employed with Lowell Lingerie Mills. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church of Lowell, MA. She was an avid Bingo Player at the Sacred Heart Church, and she also enjoyed playing cards with her family. Besides her husband she is survived by a daughter and her husband Charlene and Michael Galante of Lowell, a son and his wife E. Leonard and Joan (Palmer) Mills of North Chelmsford, a brother and his wife Ernest and Elizabeth (Lavoie) Bienvenue of Lowell, a sister-in-law Ann (Dean) Welcome of Lowell, five grandchildren and their spouses Stacy and Keith Mahan of Lowell, David and Anne Marie (Mullen) Mills of Hudson, NH, Suzanne and Michael Allen of Dracut, Timothy Mills of Chelmsford, and Michael Galante of Lowell, and two great grandchildren Kevin and Chistopher Allen of Dracut. She was the sister of the late Lorretta Gardner of Chelmsford, and Leonard Welcome of Lowell.

ATTY. RICHARD J. STERLING OF CHELMSFORD
Atty. Richard J. Sterling of Chelmsford, died September 8, 1999 at Lowell General Hospital. He was married to Mrs. Carol (Caico) Sterling with whom he would have celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary on November 16, 1999. Born in Winchester, MA, on March 10, 1951, the son of Millicent (Marshie) Sterling of Bolton, formerly of Chelmsford, and the late Elmer V. Sterling. He was a graduate of Chelmsford High School with the class of 1968, he then received his Bachelors degree from Wesleyan College in CT, and his Law Degree from Suffolk Law School in Boston. Before graduating from Suffolk Law School, he was employed with Aetna Life and Casualty Insurance Co. in Boston. He was a practicing Lawyer, having an office in Chelmsford, and then moving to Tyngsboro. He was a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association. Besides his wife and mother he is survived by a step-son, Edward K. Jones, Jr. of Chelmsford, a nephew, Donald Sterling, a niece, Mrs. Henry (Beth) Kelly, a sister, Gail and her husband Donald Price of Chelmsford, and brothers and sisters-in-law, Pauline Sterling of Chelmsford, Nancy and Alex DeBaggis of Topsfield, William and Mary Caico of Peabody, Mary and Paul Peicott of Danvers, and Deborah and Kevin Toohey of Amesbury. He was the brother of the late Donald Sterling of Chelmsford.

WILLIAM N. BAHRIKIS RETIRED RAYTHEON DRAFTING MANAGER
Mr. William N. Bahrikis of Chelmsford, died September 10, 1999 at the Lowell General Hospital. He was married to Mrs. Charlotte (Anderson) Bahrikis with whom he celebrated their 52nd anniversary on July 4th. Born in Waltham on February 3, 1926, the son of the late Nicholas and Stella (Logothetis) Bahrikis. He was a graduate of Waltham High School, with the Class of 1943, and also attended Mass Trades Shop School (Drafting/Tool Design) and Northeastern University (Mechanical Engineering). He served with the U.S. Army (87th Infantry Division) during World War II. William saw combat in the European Theater including the Battle of the Bulge and received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart among other medals awarded him. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy J. and Richard Stevenson of Tyngsboro and Bette B. and Michael O'Steen of Chelmsford. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Eric and Corey Stevenson and Zachary and Stacia O'Steen. Mr. Bahrikis also leaves three brothers, John N. Bahrikis of Waltham, Peter N. Bahrikis of Belmont, and Anthony N. Bahros of Norwell, two sisters, Mrs. Philip Pintabone of Waltham and Mrs. Jane McGonigle of Wayland. He was the father of the late William Arthur Bahrikis of Chelmsford, and the brother of the late George N. Bahrikis of Waltham. He was employed as a Drafting Department Manager with the Raytheon Company located in Waltham and Bedford prior to his retirement in 1990. He was a member of the Central Congregational Church in Chelmsford, and served actively for 10 years on youth programs at the Central Congregational Church in Jamaica Plain. He was a member of the D.A.V. Chapter MA25, a Mason with the William North Masonic Lodge, AF & AM in Lowell, the Shriners/Aleppo Temple Council A.A.O.N.M.S., and the Bodies in the Valley of Boston.

Mrs. Orintha T. B. (Robinson) Williams of Tyngsboro, died September 10, 1999, at the Fair Haven Nursing Home in Lowell. She was married to Jonathan F. Williams with whom she celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on Oct. 23, 1930. Born in Newark, NJ on May 15, 1911, the daughter of the late Aistroppe and Jennie (Sherback) Robinson. She was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1930. In her early years she was employed as a cook at the "Old Kettle" on the Boulevard in Lowell, the Eagle Mt. House in Jackson, NH, and the Town & Country Cleaners in Dracut. She was a member of the Hillside Church, and the Mission Baptist Church both in Tyngsboro, where she also taught Sunday School, and also the Yellow Meetinghouse in Dracut, she was a member of the Woman's Club at the Tyngsboro Evangelical Congregational Church. She was a member of the Eva Forsyth School of Dance where she danced at many places all over New England. She was the sister of the late Irene McAdams, Effie Colon, and Arthur V. Robinson, all of New Jersey. Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Dian D. Potter of Laconia, NH, Beverly A. and Richard Smith of Nashua, NH, and Irene and Lance Renaud of Rotterdam, NY, four sons and daughters-in-law, Forrest G. and Lillian Williams of Methuen, David A. and Judith Williams of Ocala, FL, Russell A. and Sandra Williams of Tyngsboro, and Donald K. and Lorretta Williams of Tyngsboro, one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ethel and Joseph Rondeau of Hudson, NH, 29 grandchildren, including Forrest Williams of Kenwood, MA, Dennis Williams of Methuen, and Cindy Thibault of Lunenburg, MA, which Orintha, her husband Jonathan and son Forrest raised, and 54 great-grandchildren.

FRED A. JOHNSON OF TYNGSBORO
Mr. Fred A. Johnson of Tyngsboro, formerly of Lowell, died September 10, 1999 at the Northwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Lowell. He was married to the late Agnes G. (Hunt) Johnson who died Dec. 24, 1977. Born in Cambridge, on May 30, 1902, the son of the late Knute E. and Alma E. Johnson. He attended the Morse School in Somerville, and the Lincoln School in Medford. He was employed as a truck driver, with the Teamsters Union Local 49 in Lowell, he also drove for Swenson Farms in Lexington, E.A. Wilson Oil Company, in Lowell and Canada Dry Gingerale Co. in Chelmsford before retiring in 1965. He later worked as a Maintenance worker at the Murray Printing Company in Westford, and part time at the former J. M. Fields Department Store in Chelmsford. He attended St. John the Evangelist Church in North Chelmsford. He resided in the Middlesex Village Section of Lowell for over 25 years until moving to Tyngsboro in 1965, and was a member of the Tyngsboro Senior Citizens Club. He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Paul A. and Maureen (Botti) Johnson of New Mexico, four daughters and three-sons-in-law, Virginia and Forrest Esenwine of S. Weare, NH, Judith and Donald Gadbois of N. Billerica, Mary and Robert Johnson-Lally of Tyngsboro, and Linda Cooper who was the wife of the late David Cooper of Chelmsford, 21 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 nieces, Grace McGarva, and Judy Coburn, and 2 nephews, William Johnson, and Vincent Johnson. He was the father of the late Ronald Johnson of Lowell, Edward F. Born in Nashua, NH, on January 6, 1947, the son of the late Robert and Hazel (Bestin) Morton and Stepson of Blakely L. Clarke of Tyngsboro. He attended the Tyngsboro School System and the Hudson, NH, School System. He was employed as a Custodian with the Tyngsboro Jr./Sr. High School. He was a member of the Tyngsboro Evangelical Congregational Church. Mr. Carlos A. Avila age 46 of Pelham, NH. died Sept. 23, 1999 at the Saint's Memorial Hospital in Lowell, MA. He was married to Mrs. Maria I. (Gois) Avila with whom he celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary on June 25, 1999. Born in Doze Ribeiras, Terceira, Azores Portugal on March 8, 1953 the son of the late Francisco M. and Maria (Merces) Avila Jr. He served with the Portuguese Military in Angola, Africa during the Angola Conflict. Over the years he was employed with Pendel & Bradford Co. in Lowell, Henkles & McKoy Co. in Penn., and at the time of his death he was employed as a Car Sales Manager at Auto Stop Auto Sales in Pelham, NH. He was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church in Lowell, and St. Patrick's Church in Pelham, NH. He was a former member and drummer in St. Anthony's Band in Lowell, MA, and was a former soccer player with the Lowell Blues Soccer Club. Mrs. Patricia Danas of Lowell, died September 28, 1999 at her home. She was married to the late Mr. James P. Danas who died March 12, 1981. Born in Lowell, on January 19, 1913, the daughter of the late Peter and Vasiliki (Kalongis) Contos. She attended the Lowell School System. Patricia Managed Danas' Confectionery Store in Lowell for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell, where she was active in the Ladies Philoptochos Society. She enjoyed playing Bingo and was involved with the Ladies Auxiliary of St. George Bingo Committee. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Dorothea (Alexion) Danas of Lowell, three daughters and two sons-in-law, Toni Lawrenson, Christine and Leonard Spinelli, and Georgia and Richard Dodge all of Lowell, two brothers and sisters-in-law, Arthur P. and Bessie Contos of Lowell, and Christos P. and Ann Contos of Westford, a sister, Stella Anganes of Lowell, 15 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. Born in Reading, MA, on Nov. 7, 1917, the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Alice E. (MacMonagle) Thorn. She worked as an out-reach worker for the Tyngsboro Council on Aging, retiring after 12 years. She attended the Tyngsboro Evangelical Church. She was the mother of the late Richard A. Foster of Dracut, who died Oct. 16, 1984, and Marsha Black of Dracut who died Nov. 19, 1975. She is survived by two sisters Mrs. Paul (Ruth) Hobart of Abbot Village, ME, and Barbara Wilson of Zephyrhills, FL. She is also survived by a dear friend Phyllis M. Ward of Spring Hill, FL.

Born in Lowell, on Dec. 13, 1917, the daughter of the late Filip and Stefania (Ufila) Dejniak. She attended the Lowell School System. She was a partner in the Don Field Ski Cap Co. in Lowell. She was a communicant of the Holy Trinity Polish Church of Lowell. She was a resident of North Chelmsford since 1953, prior to that she resided in Lowell. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Susan (Arnold) Kasilowski of North Chelmsford, a daughter, Marcia A. JEANNETTE M. HENDL OF CHELMSFORD
Mrs. Jeannette M. (Godrfey) Hendl, of Chelmsford, MA. died Oct. 7, 1998 at her home at Meadow Lodge in Chelmsford. She was married to the late Richard Hendl. Born in New York, N.Y. on Feb. 2, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Edward F. and Aline L. (Hoch) Godfrey. She graduated from Union Hill High school in 1932. She was employed with Sears as a Payroll Clerk in Ocean, N.J., until her retirement in 1977. In 1978 she and her husband moved to Chelmsford. Mrs. Hendl was a member of the West Chelmsford United Methodist Church. She and her husband belonged to the Alpine Squares and were past Treasurers. In Union City, New Jersey she was an Auxiliary Volunteer Girl Scout Board Member for 20 years and a Scout Leader for both Girl and Boy Scout Troops. She is survived by two sons, Richard G. and his wife Janet (Burd) Hendl of Chelmsford, MA., and Roy F. and his wife Evangeline (Engdahl) Hendl of Phoenixville, PA., a sister, Mrs. Frances I. (Godfrey) and her husband Bernard J. Laders of Garden City Beach, S.C., her grandchildren are Richard and his wife Amy (Howard) Hendl of Lynn, MA., and Andrew Hendl of St. Paul, Mn.

Simmons who died Dec. 15, 1989. Born in Lowell, Ma. on Apr. 9, 1912, the daughter of the late John and Ruth (Neild) Rigg. She was educated in the Lowell School System. She and her family lived in the Wigginville section of Lowell, and attended the Lawrence Street Pilgrim Methodist Church and most recently, ST. John the Episcopal Church. In her early years she was employed as a Lowell Mill Girl. She is survived by a son and his wife Forest and Jean (MacFadyen) Simmons of North Conway, N.H., owners of the Toy Shop in North Conway, N.H. AGNES F. FARRINGTON OF NORTH CHELMSFORD
Mrs. Agnes F. (Bigelow) Farrington of North Chelmsford, died Oct. 13, 1998 at her home. She was married to Mr. Charles E. Farrington with whom she would have celebrated their 56th anniversary on Dec. 21. Born in Grafton, MA, on Jan. 20, 1920, the daughter of the late Herbert M. and Florence M. (Gallows) Bigelow. A resident of North Chelmsford, with her family, since 1956, and was employed with the Chelmsford School System, for over 25 years, as a Teachers' Aide, until her retirement in 1985. Besides her husband she is survived by a son and a daughter-in-law, James E. and Dorothy Farrington, and two daughters, Gail P. Logan, and Susan J. Donegian all of North Chelmsford, two grandchildren, Mrs. Shane (Susan J.) Soucier of Litchfield, NH, and Peter M. Donegian of Clearwater, FL, and two great grandchildren, Shailyn and Sheehan Soucier of Litchfield, NH.

JOHN E. SHEPARD OF LOWELL
Mr. John E. Shepard of Lowell, died Oct. 13, 1998 at his home. He was married to Mrs. Lorraine (Miron) Shepard with whom he would have celebrated their # anniversary on May 8.(1949) Born in Billerica, on April 30, 1926, the son of the late William M. and Eva E. (Whitney) Shepard. He attended both Howe High School in Billerica, and Lowell High School, and was a graduate of Lowell Commercial College of Business. He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II, and the Korean Conflict, aboard the USS Aegir. He was the recipient of the Asiatic Pasific Medal and the American Area Victory Medal. He was employed with the John Hancock Life Insurance Company for 7 years, and then with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 35 years, retiring in 1985. He was a communicant of Notre Dame de Lourdes Church of Lowell. He was a member of the Lowell & Chelmsford Senior Citizens Clubs, the Assoc. of Life Ins. Underwriters for Metropolitan Life, the American Legion, Post 87 in Lowell, V.F.W., Post 662 in Lowell, Sampson WWII Navy Veterans, Metropolitan Veterans Assoc, and the U.S. Navy Memorial Foundation as a "Plank owner" Besides his wife he is survived by a son and daughter-in- law, John E. and Judy (Sweeney) Shepard, Jr. of Lowell, a daughter, Jean Marie Wilson of Lowell, two sisters, Mrs. Irene M. Stanley, and Mrs. Donald (Mary L.) Spaulding both of North Billerica, six grandchildren, Stephen R. Wilson, Jr., Scott M. Wilson, Stacey J. Wilson, Mrs. Jamie and her husband Emanuel Andrade, Jennifer L. Shepard, and John W. Shepard all of Lowell, and all of his very special friends. He was the brother of the late William J. Shepard of Tewksbury who died in 1993, and Donald H. Shepard of Lowell and Tice, FL, who died in 1996.

Mrs. Virginia L. (Shorette) Thursby of North Chelmsford, died Oct. 14, 1998 at the Lowell General Hospital. She was married to the late Mr. Paul F. Thursby who died May 25, 1993. Born in Oakland, ME on Sept. 5, 1926, the daughter of the late Leroy A. and Dorothy (Dore) Shorette. She was a graduate of Lowell High School with the class of 1943. She was employed with Marinel Bus Services as a Bus driver until her retirement in 1992, and was previously employed with the Falkner Mills in Billerica, Steven's Mills in Dracut, and the Prince Macaroni Co. in Lowell. She was an avid Bingo player, and was also a Bingo bus driver for the Suburbanette Bingo, and the Lions Club Bingo in Hudson, NH. She is survived by three sons and two daughters-in-law, Paul Thursby of North Chelmsford, Thomas and Susan (Bilodeau) Tougas of Hudson, NH, and Ronald and Kathy (Harrington) Tougas of Gilford, NH, two daughters and a son-in-law, Nancy and John Porter of Tyngsboro, and Sharon Peterson of Westford, five brothers and four sisters-in-law, Leroy A. and Arlene (Drake) Shorette, Jr. of Monson, MA, Richard A. Shorette of Holly Hill, FL, John D. and Jane (Gustafson) Shorette of Monson, MA, George W. and Nancy (Hyatt) Shorette of Monson, MA, and Robert W. and Sally (Robbins) Shorette of Wales, MA, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gloria L. and Normand Robertson of Groton, and Carolyn and Edward Sullivan of Somers, CT, twelve grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, and a step-mother, Mrs. Peter (Ida) Dragon of Palmer, MA. Born in Keene, NH on May 2, 1923, the daughter of the late Oliver and Cora (Champagne) Patnaude. She was a graduate of Keene High School, in Keene, NH, with the class of 1941. She was employed for many years with the Houghton-Mifflin Company in Cambridge, until her retirement. She was a communicant of St. Malachy Church of Burlington. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Karen A. and James F. Kearns of Westford, a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Ruby Patnode of Cape Coral, FL, a sister, Eileen Leger of Fayetteville, GA, two grandchildren, Kerry L. Kearns of Tyngsboro, and Christopher Kearns of Orlando, FL, and several nieces and nephews.
