Tuesday, May 9, 2000 -- (NORTHAMPTON) - William H. Lucey, 77, of Holyoke, died May 8 at a nursing home in Leeds.
He was a U.S. Army Air Forces veteran of World War II.
Mr. Lucey had been a longtime employee of the General Electric Corp. and was later a manager at National Blank Book Co. in Holyoke, now Avery Dennison. He retired in 1984.
He leaves his wife, Lucille C. (Chaput) Lucey; four sons, William D. Monday, May 1, 2000 -- (CHICOPEE) - Stanley D. Fish, 72, of Chicopee, formerly of Granby, died April 28 in Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Mr. Fish had worked for Texon in Holyoke for 33 years.
His wife, Barbara (Gonyer) Fish, died in 1999.

Monday, May 1, 2000 -- (EASTHAMPTON) - Ruth M. (Menard) Laprade, 81, of Ferry Street, died April 30 in The Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton.
Mrs. Laprade had worked for the Easthampton School Department as a cafeteria worker for 14 years, retiring in 1980.
She leaves her husband of 54 years, Lucien Laprade; two sons, Michael Laprade of Granby, and Gary Laprade of Easthampton; a brother, Aime Menard of Easthampton; a sister, Ida Bushey of Northampton; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Douglas C. Lyman
Monday, May 1, 2000 -- (WILLIAMSBURG) - Douglas C. Lyman, 80, of Main Road in Haydenville, died April 30 in The Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, where he served in the Pacific Theater and was among the first men to land on Hiroshima following the dropping of the atomic bomb.
Mr. Lyman was the owner and operator of Lyman TV and Appliance Co. of West Brookfield for many years, operating both a sales and service business, until his retirement.
His first wife, Helen Y. (Roberts) Lyman, died in 1960.
He leaves his wife, Lorraine (Johnson) Aube Lyman; a son, Dennis Lyman of Florence; four daughters, Virginia Shepard of Worcester, Laura Vachula of Hatfield, Dale Bliss of Sunderland, and Patricia Lyman of Northampton; a stepson, Richard F. Aube, and a stepdaughter, Jacqueline David of Greenfield; a sister, Virginia P. Howe; 15 grandchildren, including Brenda Robertson of Cummington, whom he raised; and seven great-grandchildren. A son, Bruce Lyman, died in 1973, and a brother, Gordon P. Lyman, also died earlier.

Tuesday, August 8, 2000 -- (BELCHERTOWN) - Owen P. Clifford Jr., 78, of Pine Valley Plantation, died Aug. 7 at Heritage Hall West nursing home in Agawam.
Mr. Clifford had worked as a pipe-fitter and plumber for Stone & Webster Construction for 17 years, and then was the plumbing and gas inspector for the town of Belchertown.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Luzon, Philippines, and later in Japan.
Mr. Holich was a retired truck driver and carpenter, having worked for several area businesses.

Mrs. Robare had been employed at the former Lesnow Manufacturing Co. in Easthampton.
Her husband, Robert E. Robare, died in 1975.

Mr. Zewinski had worked at the Greenfield Tap & Die Co. for many years, retiring in 1978. He had previously worked for Montague Rod & Reel Co. He was the director of the former Polish Cooperative Store in Turners Falls.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
Mr. Rose was the owner and operator of Robert B. Rose & Associates Land Surveyors in South Deerfield, which he founded in 1976. He had previously worked for Gordon E. Ainsworth & Associates Land Surveyors in Greenfield.

Wednesday, August 9, 2000 -- (SOUTHAMPTON) - Alice Marion (Lasocki) Zielinski-Slabinski, 82, of 96 Valley Road, died Aug. 8 at home.
Along with her sister, Dorothy, she opened and ran the Bridal & Specialty Shop in Westfield. She had also worked for 10 years as a computer operator for Whiting Oil Co. until her retirement. She had previously worked for the former Northampton Commercial College.
Her first husband, Stanley J. Zielinski, died in 1957.
She leaves her husband, John Slabinski; a daughter, Joan Wright of Lewiston, Maine; three sons, Thomas Zielinski of Osprey, Fla., William Zielinski of Feeding Hills, and John Zielinski of Hillsboro, N.H.; two sisters, Dorothy Brach of Westfield, and Stacia Kozik of Springfield; 10 grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews. Monday, August 7, 2000 -- (NORTHAMPTON) - Helen Marie (Bernard) Bisaillon, 91, a longtime resident of the Baystate section, died Aug. 4 at a local convalescent facility.
Mrs. Bisaillon had been employed for many years at the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in Northampton, and in later years had worked for the Smith College Buildings and Grounds Department. She had also worked as a nurse's aide at The Cooley Dickinson Hospital.
Her husband, Vincent G. Bisaillon Sr., died in 1998.
She leaves three sons, Blaise Bisaillon of Northampton, Vincent G. Bisaillon Jr. of Leeds, and Joseph Bisaillon of Southampton; a daughter, Ann Fontaine of Westhampton; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Friday, August 4, 2000 -- (NEW BRAINTREE) - Stanley B. Kruckas, 86, formerly of New Braintree, died Aug. 2 at the Center for Extended Care at Amherst.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in Italy. His decorations included the Purple Heart.
Mr. Kruckas had been a state employee, working for more than 24 years in maintenance with the Metropolitan District Commission, until his retirement in 1987.
His wife of 27 years, Gladys L. (Huckins) Kruckas, died in 1995.
He leaves a daughter, Anne M. Disch of Concord, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Beverly Iott of Spencer and Barbara Avery of Sterling; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Four brothers, Frank Kruckas, John Kruckas, Charles Kruckas, and Tony Kruckas, and a sister, Nellie Simonis, all died earlier.
