Audrey (Kauppinen) Pare

Mrs. Audrey (Kauppinen) Pare, 49, of Groveland and formerly of Peabody, died Tuesday morning at the Merrimack Valley Hospital, Haverhill.
She was born in Peabody, September 6, 1953, daughter of Yvonne (Parisien) Kauppinen of Peabody and the late Wilho Kauppinen.
Mrs. Pare was educated in the Peabody School System and graduated from Peabody High. She earned an Associates Degree in Medical Transcription from Northern Essex Community College.
Mrs. Pare moved to Groveland in the mid 1970's, and was a member of St. Patrick's Church, So. Groveland.  Until her retirement in 2002 she was employed as a Medical Transcriber at Baldpate Hospital.
Mrs. Pare enjoyed spending time at the mountains.
She was the wife of the late Robert L. Pare who died in 1998 and besides her mother her survivors include 2 sons, Justin P. and Jacob T. Pare both of Groveland, 2 sisters, Virginia Fenton of Florida, and Marcia Jarvis of Gloucester, 2 brothers, Randy and Arnold Kauppinen both of Maine, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral Saturday morning at 9:00 from the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 in St. Patrick's Church, Center St., So. Groveland.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Groveland.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Carmelyn (Birch) Beal

Mrs. Carmelyn (Birch) Beal, 69, of 14 Balch Ave. Groveland, died Tuesday at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill.
She was born in Berwick Me, May 8, 1933, daughter of the late Lloyd and Arlene (Renaud) Birch. 
At an early age her family relocated to Rochester, NH, where she attended the Rochester Public Schools and Spaulding High School.
In l952 she came to Haverhill and was employed as a Bus Driver for Vern Cotton, Coppolla Bus Company, and prior to her retirement in l998, she had been a 17-year employee of the Merrimack Valley Regional Transit Authority.
A Groveland resident since l953, she had been involved with various bowling leagues at the Academy Lanes, and was an avid sports fan of all the New England Teams.
She was married to the late Willard E. Beal Jr. who died in l986, and her survivors include her Fiancée Donald A. Denoi of Groveland, two sons, Michael E. Beal, and his fiancé Michelle Brothers of Deer Trail Colorado, William E. and his wife Dawn A. Beal of Plaistow, NH, three daughters Sherri L. Todd of Freemont, NH. Lisa J. McInnes and her fiancée Brian Raynes of Derry, NH, Nancy A. Beal and her fiancée Dennis Houle of Bartlett, NH, 6 grandchildren Kristin A. McInnes, Michelle L. Cann, Becky J. Graff, Debbie A. McInnes, Michal M. Todd, Aprilmarie D. Houle, a great granddaughter Jasmine Betts.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the Funeral Friday morning at 11 am. At the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St. Haverhill.
Calling hours at the Funeral Home will be Thursday afternoon and evening 2-4 and 7-9.
Burial in the Riverview Cemetery, will be private at the convenience of the family.

Cirilo "Chico" Sanchez

Mr. Cirilo "Chico" Sanchez, 69, of Bradford, died Sunday at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston.
He was born on April 5, 1933, in Comerio, Puerto Rico, moving to the U.S. in 1953. He was a resident of the Chelsea and Malden area prior to moving to Bradford 14 years ago.
Mr. Sanchez retired as an Electrical Technician from Lightolier in Wilmington, MA after many years. Prior to that he was employed at Stop and Shop in Medford.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Virginia T. (Leone) Sanchez, children, Theresa J. and her husband Daniel Hickey of Tewksbury, Richard C. Sanchez and his wife Christin of Plymouth, MA, and Linda A. Sanchez of Haverhill, brother Severo Sanchez of Haverhill, 3 sisters Tomasa Sanchez of Springfield, Lola Sanchez and Leonides Sanchez both of Puerto Rico, 3 grandchildren Christopher Hickey, Matthew Hickey, and Eva Sanchez, and several nieces and nephews.
At the family's request,  services at the Bradford Funeral Home will be private.
Please join the family for a celebration in honor of his life on Sunday, Feb. 9, from 2:00 to 4:30 pm at the Unity on the River, 58 Macy St. (Rte. 110) Amesbury, MA, 978-834-7830.

Mary (Olenick) Joslin

Mrs. Mary J. (Olenick) Joslin, 91, of Bradford, died Sunday evening at Hannah Duston Healthcare, Haverhill.
She was born in Haverhill, July 1, 1911, daughter of the late Samuel and Nellie (Warchol) Olenick.
Mrs. Joslin was employed in the local shoe industry. More recently she was employed as a bookkeeper for her late husbands company, Joslin Builders, Bradford.
Mrs. Joslin enjoyed gardening, sewing and dancing.
She was the wife of the late Peter Joslin, Sr. who died in 1975 and her survivors include a son, Peter J. Joslin, Jr. of Bradford, a brother, Benjamin Olenick of Methuen, 4 grandchildren, Diane Campbell, Peter J. Joslin, III, Samuel Joslin and Dawn Steadman, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Eva (Mieovitz) Merker
January 31, 2003
Mrs. Eva (Mieovitz) Merker, 98, of Boston, died Friday at the Hebrew Rehabilitation Hospital in Boston.
She was born in Dvinsk Lithuania, Dec. 15, 1905, daughter of the late Norman M. and Hannah Mieovitz.
Educated in Lithuania, she came to the United States in l923 and lived in Lynn. While there, she was employed in the hat department of the Peter Flynn Millenary Store in Boston.
In the late 20's she relocated to Haverhill where she was a member of Temple Emanu-El, and served on the Board of Hadassah, the Council of Jewish Women, the Haverhill Girl's Club and the Ladies Helping Hand.
She was married to the late Samuel Merker and her survivors include a daughter Naomi M. and her husband Mrs. Melvin H. Gordon of Brookline, three grandchildren Andrew, Betsy and William Gordon, three great grandchildren Jennifer, Megumi and Melissa Gordon, and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Merker was also the mother of the late Diane Merker.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the Funeral Sunday at 12:30 at Temple Emanu-El, 514 Main St., Haverhill.  Burial will be in the Children of Israel Cemetery.
A memorial period will be observed at the home of Melvin and Naomi Gordon Sunday evening through Monday evening.

Doris M. (Clifford) Farrar Bilodeau

Mrs. Doris M. (Clifford) Farrar Bilodeau, 92, of Groveland, and formerly of Haverhill, died Thursday at her home.
She was born in Bradford, January 23, 1911, daughter of the late Edgar N. and Bertha M. (Horton) Clifford.
Mrs. Bilodeau was educated in the Haverhill School System and graduated from Haverhill High in 1929 where she lettered in basketball, field hockey, tennis, track and softball.
She moved to Groveland in 1940, where she founded the Groveland Garden Club, and was instrumental in saving the North "Little Red" School House. Mrs. Bilodeau was a member of the West Newbury Garden Club, as well as the "Workshop of the Enchanted Elves". She also enjoyed sewing and was famous for Doris' Doll Duds.
Mrs. Bilodeau was an active member of Groveland Congregational Church, and its Sumner Circle.
She was the wife of the late Harold Farrar who died in 1942 and the late Harold A. Bilodeau who died in 1997, and her survivors include a son, Richard H. Farrar of Groveland, a daughter, Sandra L. 
and her husband Frederick R. Preble of West Newbury, 5 grandchildren, Lt. Zachary R. and Nathan C. Farrar, Wendi L. Turner, Stephen C. Preble, and Traci S. Pacy, 3 great grandchildren, Nicholas and 
Ashley Turner, and Spencer Pacy, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service Monday morning at 11:00 at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Groveland.
Calling hours at the funeral home will be Sunday afternoon from 2 to 5 p.m.

Carl H. Spaulding

Mr. Carl H. Spaulding, 79, of Merrimac, died Sunday morning at Town Manor Nursing Home, Lawrence.
He was born in Rochester, NH, May 27, 1923, son of the late Charles and Bernice (Furbush) Spaulding.
Mr. Spaulding moved to Haverhill at an early age and was educated in the Haverhill School System, graduating from Haverhill High, class of 1941.
During World War II, he served with the United States Coast Guard.  For over 20 years he was employed as a Postal Carrier for the Haverhill Post Office until his retirement in 1980.  He was a member of the Amesbury V.F.W.
His survivors include his wife of 49 years, Audrey M. (Butcher) Spaulding of Merrimac, 2 sons, Robert E. Spaulding, Carl H. Spaulding, Jr. and his wife Mary all of Haverhill, 2 brothers, Robert E. Spaulding of Epping, NH Harold Spaulding of Dover, NH, 3 granddaughters, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
His funeral was held on Thursday, Jan. 30th, at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill.  Burial was in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
Calling hours at the funeral home were held on Wednesday afternoon and evening.

Margaret L. Jones

Miss Margaret L. Jones, 79 of Bradford, died Thursday, Jan. 23rd, at the Hannah Duston Long-term Health Center.
She was born in Haverhill, Feb. 14, 1923, daughter of the late James and Bertha W. (Schnyer) Jones.
Miss Jones attended the Haverhill Public Schools, and was a l945 Graduate of Haverhill High School.  For many years she had been a Nanny for various families throughout the Haverhill area.  A former member of the First Church Of Christ, she enjoyed gardening and caring for her cat.
Her survivors include her sister Barbara J. Jones of Bradford, and several cousins.  She was also the sister of the late Dorothy M. Jones.
Services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 28th, at the Linwood Cemetery Chapel, John Ward Ave. Haverhill.

Irene T. Fitzgerald
January 22, 2003
Irene T. Fitzgerald, 77, of Bradford, died late Wednesday, Jan. 22nd, at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill.
She was born in Haverhill on Oct. 30, 1925, daughter of the late Edward and Julia (Donovan) Fitzgerald.
She was educated in Haverhill, graduating from St. James High School, and was employed at the Internal Revenue Service in Andover as well as New England Telephone Co. in Haverhill.
She attended Sacred Hearts Church in Bradford.
Her survivors include a sister, Eleanor R. Spofford of Newburyport, 2 nephews, William J. O'Brien of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and Mark E. O'Brien of Newburyport. She was also the sister of the late Geraldine Fitzgerald Shaput and Mary E. O'Brien.
Her Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, Jan. 25th, Sacred Hearts Church, Bradford. Burial was in St. James Cemetery, Haverhill.  

Katherine (Foufas) Karentinos
January 20, 2003
Mrs. Katherine (Foufas) Karentinos, 88, of Haverhill, formerly of So. Webster St., Bradford, died Monday, Jan. 20th, at Penacook Place in Haverhill.
She was born in Moline, IL on Aug. 24, 1914, daughter of the late Peter and Angelica (Mowzakrotis) Foufas.
Mrs. Karentinos was educated in Davenport, Iowa and moved to Haverhill in the mid 1970’s.
She was the wife of the late James Karentinos, and is survived by a daughter, Esther Donahue, and 3 grandchildren.
She was also the sister of the late Georgia Lazos.
A graveside service was held in Linwood Cemetery Friday, Jan. 24th.

Stanley M. Rosinski

Mr. Stanley M. Rosinski, 72, formerly of Haverhill died Monday, Jan. 20th, at the Merrimack Valley Hospital. 
He was born in Lawrence on June 29, 1930, son of the late Edward and Cheslav "Jessie" Rugoz Rosinski.
Educated in St. Mary’s Grammar School Lawrence, he was a graduate of Lawrence High School. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the United States Navy.
Mr. Rosinski formerly owned Broadway Variety in Haverhill, the Wippy Dippy Mini Golf and Ice Cream in Bartlett NH, had worked with his family at the former Rosinski Funeral Home in Haverhill, and prior to his retirement had been a Draftsman and designer for various manufacturing firms including Raytheon. After his retirement he worked at Mt Cranmore in North Conway, NH. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Veterans Of Foreign Wars.
He was married to the late Barbara A. (Clay) Rosinski and his survivors include a son Richard M. and his wife Maggie M. Rosinski of Haverhill two daughters Debra A. and her husband Lawrence Symington of Micco, FL. Robin M. and her partner Anna Brigitino of Campbell, CA. a brother Richard E. Rosinski of Tampa. FL. two grandchildren Michelle L. and her husband Derek J. Hurn Michael A. and his wife Kerry Misserville, a great granddaughter Samantha Barnes, several nieces and nephews. A brother and sister in law Linda and Dick Adams of Michigan.
Calling hours at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill, were held on Thursday, Jan. 23rd.  Funeral Services were private and at the convenience of the family.

Mrs. Sadie (Pinsky) Striesfield, 92, formerly of Haverhill, died Sunday, Jan. 19th, in Marietta, GA.
She was the wife of the late Louis Striesfield who died in 191983 and her survivors include a daughter, Cynthia and her husband Louis Cohen of Marietta, GA, a sister, Esther Wheeler of Revere, 2 grandchildren, Debra Hurowitz and David Cohen, 5 great grandchildren, Samuel Cohen, Hailey, Hannah, Hadley and Hunter Hurowitz.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 22nd, at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill.  Burial was in Children of Israel Cemetery, Haverhill.

C. Frances (Perry) Moss R.N.

Mrs. C. Frances (Perry) Moss, 91 of 256 Boardman St., and a former long time resident of Phillips St., died Friday, Jan. 17th, at the Merrimack Valley Hospital.
She was born in Iberville Quebec Province Canada, June 28, 1911, the daughter of the late Francis T. and May E. (Batchelder) Perry.
Mrs. Moss was a Graduate of Waterbury High School, entered the former Gale Hospital School of Nursing and was a Graduate of the Haverhill Municipal Hospitals School of Nursing where she received her degree as a Registered Nurse. She was a private duty nurse throughout the Haverhill area, and during World War II was employed at the Hale Hospital.
She was a Member of the Haverhill Municipal Nurses Alumnae Association, the Hale Hospital Auxiliary, a 50-year member of the Monday Night Bridge Club, and was a former member of the Amesbury Country Club and the Haverhill Golf and Country Club. She was also a former member of the First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Moss was married to the late E. Howard Moss who died in l998, and her survivors include two daughters, Georgia M. and her husband Atty Robert E. Andrews of Haverhill, Ms Patricia E. Moss of Saco Maine, a brother Kenneth Perry of Fairfield Bay Arkansas, a sister Mrs. Annie Marden of Williston VT. 5 grandchildren Mark and Brad Andrews, Donna DelGrosso, Diana Barry, Debra SanSoucie, and 6 Great Grandchildren. She was also the sister of the late Mary Wagner.
Her visitation and Funeral were held on Monday, Jan. 20th, at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St. Haverhill.  Burial was in the Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.

Thalia A. (Valhouli) Pevna

Mrs. Thalia A. (Valhouli) Pevna, 68, of Haverhill, died Monday, Jan. 13th, at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill.
She was born in Haverhill on March 20, 1934, daughter of the late George J. and Fannie (Pappachristos) Valhouli.
Mrs. Pevna was educated in Haverhill and was a member of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Apostles in Haverhill, ELPIS, and the Philoptochos Society.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Arnold Pevna, of Haverhill, sons Leonard P. Pevna of Topanga, CA, and David M. Pevna and his wife Michelle of Plaistow, NH, a daughter, Jane H. Morse and her husband Kevin of Cummings, GA, brother, George J. Valhouli, Jr., of Haverhill, 5 grandchildren, Samantha, Molly, and Max Pevna, Allison and Jonathan Morse, as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late George J. Valoras, who died in 1998, Nancy Valoras, who died in 1993, and sister of the late John G. Valhouli, who died in 1991.
Her Funeral was held on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Burial was in the Children of Israel Cemetery, Haverhill.

Barbara Ann (Costello) Marston

Mrs. Barbara Ann (Costello) Marston, 77, formerly of Haverhill, and FL, died Friday, Jan. 10th, at the Country Manor Nursing Home in Newburyport.
She was born in Haverhill on Feb. 18, 1925, daughter of the late James M. and Evelyn A. (Sullivan) Costello. She was a graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1942, and later attended the Chandler Business School.  In 1972, Mrs. Marston moved from Haverhill to Florida then returned to the area in 1998. Mrs. Marston was a member of Sacred Hearts Church in Bradford, MA.  She also enjoyed golf and playing bridge.
She was the wife of the late Stanley Marston, who died in 1998.
Her survivors include daughters, Margaret and her husband Paul Senechal of Amesbury, MA, Sallie A. Marston of Tuscon, AZ, Patricia and her husband Scott Harding of Alameda, CA, Christine and her husband Eric Weiss of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, and Paula A. Marston of Dunedin, FL, brother, James M. Costello of Nevada City, CA, 6 grandchildren, Katherine Lord, Michael Senechal, Austin Weiss, Marston Weiss, Sean Harding, and Clayton Harding, and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Peter W. Marston, who died in 1971, and sister of the late Robert W. Costello, Phillip J. Costello, Margaret Goodreault, and Patricia Bean.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Feb. 15, at 1:30 in Sacred Hearts Church, So. Main St., Bradford.  Interment will follow in the Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. There will be no calling hours.
