Martha (Leonardos) Panos

Mrs. Martha (Leonardos) Panos, 85, of Atkinson, NH, formerly of Haverhill,
died early Sunday, Oct. 13th, at Penacook Place in Haverhill.
She was born in Haverhill on Jan. 10, 1917, daughter of the late William
and Florence (Mackenzie) Leonardos.
Mrs. Panos was a graduate of Haverhill High School and a longtime resident
of the city, before moving to Atkinson, NH in 1958. She worked in the shoe
industry for many years, later, was co-owner of Panos Market located at
5th Avenue and Cedar Street and later formed and was the proprietor of
Panos Industries, an outsourcing firm for the shoe industry, retiring in
1987.
She was a member of the Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, Saints
Peter and Paul on Winter St. in Haverhill. Mrs. Panos was also a former
member of the Haverhill Golf and Country Club from 1958-1984, and former
member of both the Atkinson Garden Club and the Emblem Club of Haverhill.
She was the wife of the late Nicholas Panos, who died May 6, 1982.
Her survivors include her only child, Peter Nicholas Panos and his
wife Kathleen of N. Reading, MA, a brother, Peter Leonardos of Atkinson,
NH, sisters, Helen Tellier of Atkinson, NH, and Sophie Lemieux of RI, 3
grandsons, Nicholas Peter Panos of Arlington, VA, James Patrick Panos of
Boston, MA, and Michael Hayes Panos of Orlando, FL, several nieces, nephews,
grand nieces and grand nephews.
Her funeral service was held Wednesday morning, Oct. 16th, at the Holy
Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, Saints Peter and Paul, 154-156 Winter St.,
Haverhill. Burial was in the Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
Calling hours at the funeral home were held on Tuesday evening.

Charles West
Oct. 10, 2002
Mr. Charles West, 81 of 1 One Water St. Haverhill, died Oct. 10 at
Penacook Place
He was born in Boston Sept 29, 1921, son of the late Lee and Grace
(King) West,
And was educated in the Boston Public Schools
Prior to his retirement Mr. West was self employed as a Salesman, and
had served in the United States Army during World War II.
His survivors include a sister Mrs. Fran (Doris) Perry of Bradford.
Funeral Services were held Wednesday. Oct. 16th, at the Veterans Administration
National Cemetery in Bourne, MA.
Martin Brooks
Oct. 9, 2002
Mr. Martin Brooks, 76, of Haverhill died Wednesday, Oct. 9th, at the
Lawrence General Hospital.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY on Aug. 10, 1926, son of the late Samuel
and Lillian (Wilner) Brooks.
Mr. Brooks attended City College of NY (CCNY), Columbia University,
and University of Chicago. He resided in Andover for many years where he
raised his family and was a novelist. After retiring he moved to Haverhill
and has been a resident since.
Mr. Brooks enlisted in the US Army at an early age during WWII, and
was discharged as a captain, serving in the Army of the United States and
Counter Intelligence (CIC). He received Silver and Bronze Medals, a Purple
Heart, Pacific Theatre World War II Victory Medal, and Good Conduct Medal.
He is survived by his wife Stephanie (Webster) Brooks of Haverhill,
daughter, Kathryn S. Brooks of Cambridge, MD, 2 sons Samuel S. and his
wife Gayle of Georgetown, and Russell A. Brooks of Northampton, MA, 3 sisters,
Ruth Osbourne, Norma Simon, and Evelyn Baron all of Florida, 2 grandchildren,
and several nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services were held on Thursday, Oct. 10th, in the Children
of Israel Cemetery in Haverhill.

Michael Asadorian
October 5, 2002
Mr. Michael Asadorian, 48, of Haverhill, died Saturday morning at the
Merrimack Valley Hospital, Haverhill.
He was born in Lawrence, September 28, 1954, son of Beatrice (Greenwood)
Asadorian of Bradford and the late Misak Asadorian, and was educated in
the Haverhill School System.
Besides his mother his survivors include his former wife Jan (Batchelder)
Asadorian, 2 daughters, Kristin Asadorian and Elise Asadorian, a sister
Nancy and her husband Stephen Greenlaw all of Bradford, and several nieces
and nephews.
Mr. Asadorian was also the brother of the late David Asadorian and
Dorothy O’Hanian.
A visitation period was held on Tuesday, Oct. 8th, at the H.L.
Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill.
Funeral services and burial will be private and at the convenience
of the family.
Liberty Pavlakis
October 4, 2002
Ms. Liberty Pavlakis, 79, of Haverhill, died Friday morning at the
Holy Family Hospital, Methuen.
She was born in Haverhill, Dec. 29, 1922, daughter of the late Nickolas
and Pauline (Theofilopoulos) Pavlakis. Ms. Pavlakis was educated in the
Haverhill School System and graduated from Haverhill High School. She also
graduated from MacIntosh Business School.
For over 32 years she was employed as the Executive Secretary at Bixby
International, Newburyport, until her retirement in 1986. She was a member
of the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy Apostles and its Philoptochos
Society, as well as the Women's City Club. Ms. Pavlakis enjoyed traveling,
plays and attending classical music concerts.
Her survivors include 2 sisters, Joan Pavlakis of Haverhill, Anastasia
Economides of Dover, NH, 5 brothers, Theodore Pavlakis and Peter Pavlakis
both of Haverhill, James Pavlakis of Mexico, George Pavlakis of Kansas
and Christopher Pavlakis of New York City, NY.
Her Funeral Service was held in the Greek Orthodox Church of the Holy
Apostles, Winter St., Haverhill.
Burial was in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.
Calling hours at the funeral home were held Monday, Oct. 7th.
Stephen C. MacKenzie
Oct. 2, 2002
Mr. Stephen C. MacKenzie, 41, of Haverhill died Wednesday, Oct. 2nd,
at his residence in Haverhill.
He was born in Haverhill on Oct. 30, 1960, and had attended the local
schools. Mr. Mackenzie was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in
Haverhill.
He was the son of the late Frances M. (Oertel) MacKenzie who died in
1967 and is survived by his father John A. MacKenzie and his wife Maryann
of Haverhill, brothers Ronald T. MacKenzie of Kingston, NH, and John A.
MacKenzie, Jr., of N. Billerica, and 3 nieces, Kelly, Jennifer, and Christina
MacKenzie.
His memorial service was held Sunday, Oct. 6, at Trinity Episcopal
Church, 26 White St., Haverhill. Interment in Walnut Cemetery Haverhill
will be private and at the convenience of the family.
There were no calling hours.

Helen (Menzigian) Tatirosian
Sept. 30, 2002
Mrs. Helen (Menzigian) Tatirosian, 89, of Chadwick St. Bradford, died
Monday, Sept. 30th, at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill.
Born in Khuloo, Turkey , March 21, 1913, she was the daughter of the
late Garabed and Julia (Mooradian) Menzigian.
One of the few remaining that had fled the genocide; she was raised
in various orphanages in Syria, prior to coming to the United States. On
the Anniversary of the Genocide she often was presented a plaque commemorating
the Genocide.
Most of her life was spent in Haverhill, and she had been employed
in the Shoe Industry in the Greater Haverhill area.
She was married to the late Kazar Tatirosian, and her survivors include
a son Dr. Jack Tatirosian and his wife Linda A. of Atkinson, NH. A daughter
Cynthia M. Tatirosian-Augustin and her husband Maurice A. Augustin of Bradford,
a brother Masador Menzigian of Haverhill 2 Grandchildren Brian Gregory
Tatirosian, and Lynne A. Perez, 3 great grandchildren Jack Andrew Tatirosian,
Olivia Rose Perez, and Lucas Perez, and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral was held Wednesday, Oct. 2nd, at the H.L. Farmer &
Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 So. Main St. Bradford. Burial was
in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.

Dr. Eugene Harbilas, MD
Sept. 29, 2002
Dr. Eugene Harbilas, MD, 70, a longtime resident of Haverhill, died
Sunday, Sept. 29th, at his residence after a brief illness.
He was born in Manhattan, NY on Jan. 20, 1932, son of the late George
and Bessie (Christos) Harbilas.
Dr. Harbilas was educated in NY and entered the US Air Force after
high school. After time served in the Air Force, he obtained his undergraduate
degree from Columbia University, graduating second in his class. He went
to medical school at New York Medical College, graduating in 1962 with
an M.D. He did an internship and a three-year residency in Internal Medicine
at Flower and 5th Avenue Hospital. After completing his residency Dr. Harbilas
was a Fellow in Gastroenterology.
He was in private practice on Park Avenue in Manhattan for several
years prior to moving to Haverhill in 1971. He has practiced Internal Medicine
and Gastroenterology since with his associate of the last 18 years, Dr.
Theodora Christopher, MD.
Dr. Harbilas was a member of various local medical societies as well
as the AMA. He was a past president of the Medical Staff at the former
Haverhill Municipal Hale Hospital and taught at Tufts Medical School for
5 years.
His personal interests were tennis, skiing, music (both classical and
Jazz) and reading. He was also an avid crossword puzzler. He had a passion
for gourmet cooking and fine wine.
In addition to his wife of 33 years, Jean Harbilas, he leaves his 2
sons David L. of Haverhill and Ian M. of Santa Monica, CA, a brother James
of Fort Lee, NJ, 2 sisters Madeline Metralexis of Fort Lee and Helen Harbilas
of FL, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer
St., Haverhill were held on Thursday, Oct. 3rd. At the request of
the family, funeral services will be private.

William A. Kennedy

Mr. William A. "Bill" Kennedy, 50, of Haverhill, died Sunday, Sept.
29th, at the Merrimack Valley Hospital, Haverhill.
He was born in Haverhill, March 5, 1952, son of the late Carmen and
Grace (McDonald) Kennedy.
Mr. Kennedy was educated in the Haverhill School System and graduated
from Haverhill High. For over 24 years he was employed as an assembler
for the former Lucent Technologies, until his retirement in October 2001.
Mr. Kennedy enjoyed watching sports.
His survivors include his wife of 11 years, Sandra (Beaudry) Kennedy
of Haverhill, 2 stepsons, Michael and his wife Kim Valliant of Newton,
NH, Erik Valliant of Arizona, a grandson, Cody Valliant of Newton, NH,
his mother-in-law, Yvonne Beaudry of Haverhill, 2 sisters-in-law, Tamie
Andrews of Groveland and Anita Henry of Bradford.
Mr. Kennedy was also the brother of the late Albert J. Riel.
His visitation and memorial service was held Wednesday evening Oct.
2nd, at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill.
Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Earl R. McNeil
Sept. 29, 2002
Mr. Earl R. McNeil, 73, of Haverhill died early Sunday, Sept. 29th,
at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill.
He was born in Haverhill on Dec. 9, 1928, son of the late Charles W.
and Abbie (Williams) McNeil.
He was a lifelong resident of the city attending Haverhill Trade School.
In 1946, Mr. McNeil enlisted in the US Navy underwater sound laboratory
in New London, CT, serving during WWII. He was employed for over 17 years
at Coakley's Diner, then for 8 years at DiBurro's, and was a short order
cook at the Winthrop Diner. In 1992 he was employed at Haverhill High School
as a custodian.
Mr. McNeil was a member of the Haverhill Lodge of Elks B.P.O.E. #165
of which he was a Past Exalted Ruler. He attended the Universalist Unitarian
Church in Haverhill.
Mr. McNeil was a former Haverhill City Champion Candlepin Bowler, appearing
on Channel 5 Bowling Show.
He is survived by his wife Thelma M. (Greenwood) McNeil, a daughter,
Christine M. Tudisco of Haverhill, a brother Frank McNeil of New Hampshire,
2 sisters, Violet Bowe of Princess Ann, MD, and Susan Clough of Fairmount,
MD, 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Gary S. McNeil who died in 1958, and
Earl R. McNeil, Jr., who died in 1995.
His funeral was held on Wednesday, Oct. 2nd, at the H.L. Farmer &
Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Burial was in the Linwood
Cemetery, Haverhill.

Barbara L. Weiner Jaycox

Mrs. Barbara L. Weiner Jaycox, 70, of 7324 Popham Dr., Ft. Myers Florida
and formerly Haverhill, passed away Sunday Dec. 8th, at Hope Hospice House
in Fort Myers, FL.
Barbara was born in Haverhill, Jan 17, 1932, daughter of the late Robert
H. and May (Oatman) Goldbaum.
For many years she was employed in the Intensive Care Unit at the former
Hale Hospital. and was a published author.
Barbara loved golf and will be missed by her many friends at Cypress
Lake Country Club and the Haverhill Country Club. She will also be remembered
for her great love of writing, music, skiing, sailing, raising and showing
Morgan Horses. All who knew her will sadly miss her and her presence will
be deeply felt by all who loved her.
Her survivors include her husband Richard Jaycox of Ft. Myers Fl, two
sons Robert S. and his wife Pamela Weiner of Haverhill, Peter J. and his
wife Hilda Weiner of Colebrook. NH. A daughter Mrs. Scott ( Jane E.) Carlson
of Haverhill, two brothers Richard and his wife Evelyn Goldbaum of Atkinson.
NH. Dr. Russell and his wife Joy Goldbaum of Haverhill, her step children
Ann , David, and Kevin Jaycox of Ft. Myers FL. six grandchildren Hannah,
Haleigh, Travis Shawn Weiner, Nils, Adam and Emily Carlson, and Samuel
Weiner, and many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was also married to the late Paul J. Weiner.
Her funeral was held on Thursday, Dec. 12th, at the H.L. Farmer &
Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Burial was in the Children
of Israel Cemetery, Haverhill.

Edmund H. Bruedle Sr.

Mr. Edmund H. Bruedle Sr., 82, of 495 Kings Highway, Middleton, NH,
died Sunday, Dec. 8th, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Manchester
NH.'
He was born in West Newbury, MA, June 8, l920, son of the late George
and Rilla (McFarland) Bruedle, and was educated in the West Newbury Public
School System.
Mr. Bruedle was a veteran of World War II and served in the United
States Army as a Master Mechanic of Military Equipment.
After the war he was employed at Ft. Devens as a Mechanic. He also
had been employed at Rock Asphalt, and founded Bud's Garage on Water St.
that he owned and operated from the early l940's until his retirement in
l970. While operating Bud's Garage he was instrumental in instructing many
who went on to become Auto Mechanics.
He was married to Ruth A. (Packer) Bruedle who died in l994, and his
survivors include two sons, Edmund H. Jr. and his wife Barbara A. Bruedle
of Haverhill, Robert W. and his wife Sandra M. Bruedle of Middleton, NH.
Two step daughters Mrs. Omer (Shirley) Tilton of Haverhill, Janet Guzuski
of Methuen, 15 Grandchildren 21 Great Grandchildren and several nieces
and nephews. He was also the brother of the late William MacFarland.
His visitation and funeral were held on Wednesday, Dec. 11th, at the
H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Burial
was in the Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill.

Thomas E. Germinara
December 6, 2002
Mr. Thomas E. Germinara, 66, of One Water St. Haverhill, died Friday,
Dec. 6th, at Lawrence General Hospital.
He was born in Georgetown, and attended the Haverhill Public Schools,
and served in the United States Marines during the Korean Conflict and
the Viet Nam War.
Employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator he was a proud member of Local
4 IUOE for over 30 years. He also served in the USMC during
the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War.
Mr. Germinara was a member of the Crescent Yacht Club, and the Loraine
Post #29 of the VFW of Haverhill.
His survivors include a son Robert A. Germinara of Newburyport, 5 sisters
Rosemarie Barberio of Martha's Vineyard, Frances Bayer of Sebastian FL.
Mrs. John ( Terry) Wezesa of Haverhill, Mrs. Conrad (Catherine) DeVeau
of Haverhill, Shirley A. Kidder of Haverhill, two grandchildren Brock and
Jack Germinara of Newburyport, and several nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late Angelo, Joseph and Robert Germinara.
His funeral was held on Wednesday at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral
Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Burial will be private at the convenience
of the family.

Nancy L. (Hudson) St.Louis

Nancy L. (Hudson) St. Louis, 58 of Bradford, died Thursday, Dec. 5th,
at the Holy Family Hospital.
She was born in Chelsea, Ma, June 24, 1944 daughter of the late Rodney
and Shirley (Duchesne) Hudson
At an early age her family relocated to Georgetown where she received
her education. Prior to her illness she had been employed at Adhesion
Technologies.
Her survivors include a son Michael R. and his Wife Karen A. St. Louis
of Bradford, a sister Carol O'Neil of No. Andover, her former husband Robert
St.Louis of Georgetown, and her longtime companion Chris Probrowski of
No. Hampton, NH
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to a memorial service
Thursday evening at 7:00 pm at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Bradford Funeral

Terry A. LeBar

Mr. Terry A. LeBar, 61, of Haverhill, and formerly of Ohio, died Wednesday,
Dec. 4th, at the Merrimack Valley Hospital, Haverhill, MA.
He was born in Barberton, Ohio, October 30, 1941, son of the late Victor
and Clara LeBar.
Mr. LeBar was educated in the Ohio School System, graduating from Norton,
OH, High School, class of 1959.
From 1962 to 1966, he served in the United States Navy, aboard the
USS Topeka, in Southeast Asia.
In 1972, Mr. Lebar earned his Bachelors Degree in Political Science
and Sociology from Kent State University.
For several years he was employed as a Transportation Manager in Youngstown,
OH, West Virginia, Corpus Christi, TX, Brownsville, TX, and more recently
for the Merrimack Valley Transit Authority.
Mr. LeBar moved to Haverhill in 1996, and, for the past 2 years, was
employed as a starter and groundskeeper at the Andover Country Club, Andover,
MA.
His survivors include his wife, Nancy (Morgan) LeBar of Haverhill,
a brother, Dennis LeBar of Uniontown, OH, and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. LeBar was also the brother of the late Timothy LeBar, PhD.
His celebration of life and visitation were held on Monday, Dec. 9th,
at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill,
MA.

Agnes (Derderian) Esaian

Mrs. Agnes (Derderian) Esaian, 82, of Haverhill died Wednesday, Dec.
4th, at Mass General Hospital in Boston.
She was born in Armenia on July 4, 1920, daughter of the late Krikor
and Lillian (Palanjian) Derderian.
Mrs. Esaian moved to Haverhill at an early age, and has been a resident
since, graduating from Haverhill High School, Class of 1938. Mr. Esaian
was a member of St. Gregory the Illuminator Armenian Church in Haverhill
and also the Women's City Club in Haverhill.
She was the wife of the late Nubar Esaian, and is survived by her brother,
James Derderian of Methuen, her sister, Ann Boyajian of Methuen, and several
nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Roxie Derderian.
Her funeral was held on Monday, Dec. 9th, at St. Gregory the Illuminator
Armenian Church, 110 Main St., Haverhill. Burial was in the Linwood Cemetery,
Haverhill.
