Frank J. Barboza
Frank J. Barboza, 53, of North Dartmouth died Sunday after a long illness. He was the husband of Shirley M. (Avila) Barboza.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Frank J. Barboza, Sr., and the late Adeline (Furtado) Barboza, he had lived in Dartmouth for 40 years.
He had worked for JJ Taylor, prior to that he had been a salesman for Firestone Tire for several years and also for Sosmetal Auto Parts.
Surviving besides his wife, Shirley, are two sons, Jonathan P. Barboza and Daniel F. Barboza, both of North Dartmouth; two sisters, Patricia Rivera of North Dartmouth and Theresa Crovello of New Bedford; and several nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Michael Wayne and the late Matthew J. Barboza.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 9, 1998, at 10 a.m. in the Dartmouth Funeral Home of Sullivan-Waring, 230 Russells Mills Road, South Dartmouth.

John G. Couto
John G. Couto, 83, of North Dartmouth, died Tuesday after a long illness. He was the husband of Esther J. (Fachada) Couto to whom he had been married 54 years.
Born in Dartmouth, a son of the late Manuel Couto and the late Mary (Rose) Couto, he was a lifelong resident of Dartmouth.
He was a foreman for more than 20 years for Resolve Chemical Co., retiring in 1982. Prior to that, he had been a self-employed dairy farmer and was one of the founders of Farmer's Dairy.
He was a graduate of Dartmouth High School, and a communicant of St. George's Church in Westport. An avid hunter and gardener, he raised steers on his farm, was a life member of the Wankinquoah Club of Wareham, a member of the Mid City Pigeon Club and was one of the founders of the Paskamansett Beagle Club of Dartmouth.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Esther, of 54 years are three daughters, Paula A. Buresh of Centreville, Va., and Esther J. Havey and Martha E. Kay, both of North Dartmouth; a sister, Mary Sylvia of New Bedford; four grandsons; and several nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Gertrude E. Peck, Milton and Manuel Couto.
Arrangements are by the Dartmouth Funeral Home of Sullivan-Waring, 230 Russells Mills Road, South Dartmouth.

Cevia B. Dube
Cevia B. "Eva" Dube, 96, of Maplewood Drive, Coventry, R.I., formerly of Mitchell Drive, Fall River, died Monday at home. She was the wife of the late Joseph A. Dube.
Born in Fall River, a daughter of the late Michaele and Adelia (Levesque) DeMarco, she had lived in Coventry since 1996. Prior to that she lived in Fall River for 35 years and Eddystone, Pa.
She was a weaver in the former Lincoln Mills, Fall River, for several years. 
She was active in the former Mitchell Dr. Tenants Association, and was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church in Fall River.
She leaves three daughters, Mary Kukulka, with whom she lived, Jean T. Dube of Winter Park, Fla., and Elaine Cebolla of Wilmington, De.; three brothers, Henry DeMarco of Somerset, Pasquale DeMarco of San Diego, Calif., and Michael DeMarco of Middletown, R.I.; two sisters, Demarise DiGiammo and Floretta Iadacola, both of Somerset; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was sister of the late Ida Banville, Christine Ruest, Rosina Plamondon and Nolan DeMarco.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Iannotti Funeral Home, 415 Washington St., Coventry, R.I.

Margarida Teixeira
Margarida (Cabral) Teixeira, 77, of 23 Healy St., died Monday after a long illness. She was the wife of Valdomiro Teixeira. 
Born in the village of Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, daughter of Maria Rosario Cabral of Fall River and the late Silverio Machado, she lived in St. Michael for most of her life before moving to Fall River in 1969.
She was a communicant of St. Anthony of Padua Parish and a member of the Holy Rosary Sodality.
Besides her husband, Valdomiro, she leaves four sons, Antonio Teixeira of Toronto, Canada, Daniel Teixeira and Luis Teixeira, both of Fall River, and Valdomiro Teixeira of Assonet; three brothers, Daniel Machado of Toronto, Jose Machado of Fall River and Antonio Machado of St. Michael; three sisters, Maria Silva and Isaltina Silva, both of Fall River, and Rosa Torres of Toronto; and 13 grandchildren, a great-grandson, many nieces and nephews. 
Arrangements are by the Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford St.

James Rezendes
James Rezendes, 73, of D Drive, North Westport, died Wednesday. He was the husband of Doris (Troia) Rezendes.
Born in Fall River, the son of the late James and Augustine (Fells) Rezendes, Sr., he lived in North Westport for the past 30 years.
A communicant of Our Lady of Grace Church in Westport, he was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Normandy, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe and the Battle of the Bulge, and was the recipient of the European African Middle Eastern Ribbon. 
He was the purchasing comptroller for the former Coachman Restaurant in Tiverton for more than 30 years.
Besides his wife, Doris, he leaves a stepdaughter, Karen Kirby of Westport; a sister, Augustina Cambra of Fall River; two grandchildren; a great-grandson; nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are with the Hathaway Home for Funerals, 1813 Robeson St.

Ruth E. Turner
Ruth E. (Sutcliffe) Turner, 86, of South Main Street, Academy Building Apartments, formerly of Malvey Street, died Tuesday. She was the wife of the late George Turner.
Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late James and Annie (Jones) Sutcliffe, she lived in Fall River for all of her life.
A member of the Church of the Ascension in Fall River, she was a 1931 graduate of B.M.C. Durfee High School in Fall River.
She leaves two daughters, Janice R. Engel of Mattapoisett and Joan E. Murphy of Somerset; two sons, Andrew J. Turner of N. Dartmouth and George R. Turner of Fall River; and five grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Charles, William and her twin brother, Ralph Sutcliffe.
