Merviva Bentley, 96, a native of Reserve and a resident of New Orleans, died April 2.  She was the wife of the late Arthur Bentley and mother of Wilson Lawrence and the late Mable Camese and James, Willie and Henry Lawrence. She was step-mother of Ruth Smiley.She was also the sister of Beatrice Anderson and the late Georgiana Gilmore, Denise Johnson and Adam Weston.
She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 10 in the chapel of D.W. Rhodes Funeral Home, New Orleans, with interment at Resthaven Memorial Park.

VACHERIE
Deloris Rose Brown, 38, a native and resident of Wallace, died April 10.  She was the daughter of O'Neil Sr. and Deloris Alexis Brown and sister of Cheryl Demery, Brenda Coleman, Theresa Poche and Bryan and O'Neil Brown Jr.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at St. Philip Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church mausoleum.

VACHERIE
Carolyn Dennis, 43, a native and resident of Vacherie, died April 6.  She was the mother of Tiffany Batiste.  She was also the daughter of the late George Sr. and Aldonia Dennis and sister of Willie May Marshall, Augusta McNary, Vivian Bazile, Leona Williams, Leonard, George and Calvin Dennis and the late Royal and Bernard Dennis.
Services were held April 12 at St. Luke Baptist Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery.

ST. JAMES
Edgar "Po-Toe" Dennis Sr., 82, a native of Welcome and aresident of St. James, died April 8.  He was the husband of the late Margaret James Dennis and father of Gustavia Forte, Cynthia Parker, Rowena, Patricia, Edgar Jr., Morris and Stephen Dennis and the late SharlinMilan.
He was also the son of the late Ovide and Fannie Jones Dennis and brother of Fannie Watts and Austin Sr. and Elvin Dennis.  He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 12 at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, with interment at the church cemetery.

NEW ORLEANS
Edward Dennis, 55, a native of Welcome and a resident of New Orleans, died April 9. He was the step-father of Gilbert Drayton III.  He was also the son of the Rev. Alvin Dennis and step-son of Alonia Dennis and brother of Eloise Reynard, Ester Green, Dorothy Anderson, Margie Gleason, Annette, Donald, Jim, Alvin and the Rev. Willie Dennis, Edward Robinson and Carman and the Rev. Ernest Gleason.  Services were held April 13 in the chapel of Dorothy Lawless Mortuary, New Orleans, with interment at Providence Memorial Park.

MARRERO
Minata Breaud Faucheux, 95, a native of Lutcher and a resident of Waggaman for 60 years, died April 8. She was the wife of the late Lewis Joseph Faucheux and mother of Wayne Faucheux and the late Kenneth Joseph Faucheux.
She was also the daughter of the late Eugene and Julie Pollet Breaud and sister of Florette Goodwin and the late Marguerite Livaudais, Bessie Huge and Raoul, Whitney, Polyey, George, Eddie and Nelson Breaud.
She is also survived by one grandchild-in-law and two great-grandchildren-in-law.
Services were held April 10 in the chapel of Mothe Funeral Home, Marrero, with interment at Garden of Memories Cemetery.

Antoinise Perilloux Gendron, 91, a native and resident of LaPlace, died April 10. She was the wife of the late Robert Gendron and mother of Gloria Roussel and Robert Gendron Jr.
She was also the sister of Agney Perilloux and the late Denise Rushing, Jeannette Lapping and Joseph Perilloux.
She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 13 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

Richard Jasmine Sr., 45, a native of Garyville and a resident of Reserve, died April 3. He was the husband of Pheobie Jasmin and the father of Michael and Richard Jasmine Jr.
He was also the son of Velma Jasmine and the late George Jasmine, adopted son of Vyette Bering, brother of Olita Samuel and Sidney Sr.,Edward Sr., Albert and Willie Jasmine and the late Georgina Powell andstep-brother of Janice Butler, James Nevers and the late Joseph Nevers.
Services were held April 10 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Reserve, with interment at Zion Travelers Cemetery, Lions.

King Edward Manuel, 75, a native and resident of Lutcher, died April 2.  He was the son of the late George Sr. and Lucy Volcin Manuel and brother of Mary Penny, Gloria Prosper, Richard, George Jr. and Oscar Manuel and the late Clarence Hansley and Dennis, Alex and Matthew Manuel Sr.
Services were held April 10 at King David Baptist Church, Lutcher, with interment at Golden Wreath Cemetery, Lutcher.

James A. Parnell Jr., 50, a native of New Orleans and resident of St. Rose, died April 4.  He was the husband of Clara Westley Parnell, father of Ternel Thorn and James Parnell III and step-father of Edward, Dwayne, Zachary, Dameion and Lesley Victorian.
He was also the son of the late James A. and Thelma J. Parnell and brotherof Cynthia Carter.
He is also survived by four grandchildren and nine step-grandchildren.
Services were held April 9 in the chapel of Richardson Funeral Home, River Ridge, with interment at Belgrove Cemetery, Kenner.

Catherine "Ms. Pea" "Catee" Patterson, 58, a resident of New Sarpy, died April 1.  She was the wife of Freeman Patterson and mother of Freeman Jr., Ricky and the Rev. Jeff Patterson.She was also the daughter of the late Victor Sr. and Evelyn Warren Thomasand sister of Barbara Moses, Gloria Branch, Geraldine Mason, Zilda, Norward and Victor Thomas Jr. and the late Curtis Thomas.  She is also survived by 10 grandchildren.
Services were held April 10 at Beechgrove Baptist Church, Reserve, with interment at Providence Cemetery, LaPlace.

Patricia T. Remondet, 64, a native of Northern Ireland, former resident of Reserve and resident of LaPlace for 28 years, died April 7.  She was the wife of Lee Roy Remondet and mother of Donald and Anna Mae Chenevert, Penny Bourgeois and Anna Mae and Louis Remondet.
She was also the sister of Maurine Cochrane and the late Seamus and Gene Tierney.
She is also survived by four grandchildren.
Services were held April 10 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

Nellie Riley, 54, a native of Reserve and a resident of New Orleans, died March 25. She was survived by numerous cousins.  Services are today at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Gaskin-Tilly Mortuary, New Orleans, with interment at St. John's Cemetery. Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

Victoria Gillard Taylor, 71, a native of Wallace and a resident of New Orleans, died April 8. She was the wife of the late PhilipTaylor, mother of Mary James and foster mother of Harold and Terry Lewis.
She was also the daughter of the late Horace and Harriet Dennis Gillard and sister of Marion Grows, Geraldine Boudoin, Cornelouis and Alfred Narcisse and the late Delores Slater and Larry, Alvin Jr. and Joseph Gillard.
She is also survived by one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Services were held April 12 at Morning Star Baptist Church, Wallace, with interment at Willow Grove Cemetery.

Aletha Gail Jairles Wire, 46, a native of Vacherie and a resident of Gonzales for 28 years, died April 5.  She was the mother of Cardarian and Kecia Lynn Wire.
She was also the daughter of Owen Jairles and the late Evelyn French Jairles and sister of Equila Bazile, Lionel French and Owen Anthony Jairles.
She is also survived by one grandchild.
Services were held April 10 at Highway Baptist Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery.

Elmire Roussel Zeringue, 94, a native of Paulina and a resident of Gramercy, died April 9. She was the wife of the late Felicien Zeringue and mother of Marjorie Murphree and Francis and Richard Zeringue.
She was also the daughter of the late Armand and Florisca Roussel and sister of Edmee Roussel and the late Camille Booth, Mae Kroll, Louisiana Deslatte and Hamilton, Vincent, Wilfred, Herbert and Maximillian Roussel.
She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 13 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church,Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.  Visitation begins at 9 a.m. at the church.

HAMMOND
John Carroll Zewe, 48, a native of New Orleans, former resident of Reserve for 39 years, and resident of Hammond for 10 years, died April 12. He was the husband of Susan Dottolo Zewe and father of Amanda and Courtney Zewe.
He was also the son of the late Alvin and Pearl Keller Zewe and brother of Charles, Jack, David and Donald Zewe.
Services are today at 4 p.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, Hammond, with interment at Rose Memorial Mausoleum.  Visitation starts at 10 a.m.

Ernest Joseph "Babe Ruth" Harry, 75, a native and resident of Vacherie, died April 18.  He was the husband of the late Rose Mary Jessie Harry, Joyce Saul and Lillie Mae VanBuren. He was the father of Raymond, Elston,Stephen, Paul, Clarence, Eddie and Maude Harry, Catherine Lacey, Leslie Keller and Kathleen Rodrigue. 
He was the son of the late Bienvenue an Mary Keller Harry and the brother of Amie Chopin, Esther Williams, Eve and Anita Batiste, Milton, Jilvain and Herbert Harry and the late Jules Sr., Alfred and Raymond Harry.  He is survived by 16 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
Services were April 23 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery.

Lydia Plaisance Hymel, 95, a native of Belle Rose and resident of Garyville for the past 80 years, died April 21.  She was the wife of the late ArthurHymel and the mother of Clyde, Kermit, Robert, Kenneth, Timothy and Michael Hymel, Gertrude Jacob, Betty Ramagos, Hazel Michel, Elmire Vicknair, Veronica Aucoin, Cynthia Shaubhut and Linda Haydel.
She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Aurelia Romero Plaisance and sister of the late Albert, Anthony and Samuel Plaisance, Alida Frederic, Ida Solar and Inez Grobe.
She is survived by 53 grandchildren, 115 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren.
Services were April 23 at St. Hubert Catholic Church, Garyville, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

Leonard Sylvester Judd, 66, a native of New Orleans and resident of St. Rose, died April 20. He was the husband of Ann Eskew Judd and the father of Lynn Badeaux, Lora Murray, Jan Duncan, Jeri Davis and Lenny, Mark, Dwayne, Jeffrey and Justin Judd.
He was the son of the late Irene Trayal and William Judd and brother of Willie and Joe Judd, Mary Cooper, Peggy Mailton, Hazel and Carol Judd, Karla Lewis and the late Tommy Judd.
He is survived by 12 granchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were April 21 at Kenner Funeral Home of L.A. Muhleisen & Son, Kenner, with interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Patricia Washington Johnson, 47, a native of St. Rose and resident of LaPlace, died April 19.  She was the wife of William Johnson and mother of Jonika Washington and the late Alfred Brown Jr. and the stepmother of Derrick Allen.
She was the daughter of the late Herbert and Nellie Genevia Washington and the sister of Shirley Armstrong, Ernestine Young, Herbert Jr., Lionel Sr., Leona, Ethel, Arthur, Mary Alice, Herman, Robert and Barry Washinton and the late Genevieve Washington.
She is survived by one grandchild.
Services were April 23 at Oakland Baptist Church, Kenner, with internment at St. Rose Cemetery, St. Rose.

Calvin Charles Mason, 54, a native of Reserve and resident of St. Rose, died April 19.  He was the son of the late Joseph and Martha Mason and the brother of Joseph Jr., Alvin, Jason, Cleophras and Leroy Mason Sr., Dorothy Robertson, Naomi Davis, Betty Devare and Vernessa Mitchell. 
Services were April 24 at Zion Traverlers Baptitst Church, with interment in the church cemetery.

Rene' Louis Poirier Jr., 82, a native and former longtime resident of St.James and resident of Donaldsonville, died April 21.  He was the husband of late Dolores Barrios Poirier and the father of Donna Glaviana, Annalyn Giroir and Rene III, Byron and Stephen Poirier.
He was the son of Rene' Sr. and Irma Guidry Poirier and brother of Mabel Smith, Clemence Barrios, Lois Hymel and the late Frances Poirier.
He is survived by 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services were April 24 at St. James Catholic Church, St. James, with interment at the church cemetery.

Victoria Gagliano Spizale, 95, a native and resident of Gramercy, died April 19.  She was the wife of the late John Spizale and the mother of Dorothy Ordeneaux, John Spizale and the late Carl Spizale Jr. and Beverly Kahl.
She was the sister of the late Lena Accardo, Mary Manda, Marion Gagliano, Lawrence Gagliano, Joseph Gagliano and Martin Gagliano.
She is survived by 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
Services were April 22 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Paulina.

Jacqueline Stirgus, 52, a native and resident of LaPlace, died April 20.  Shewas the daughter of Beatrice Bazile and the step-daughter of the late Ernest Bazile. She was the mother of Alana and Lela Stirgus.  She is survived by one grandchild.
Services were April 24 at Providence Baptist Church No. 1, LaPlace, with interment at Providence Rest Haven, LaPlace.

Irvin Tyler, a native of Destrehan and resident of Kenner, died April 21.   He was the brother of Geraldine Myers and Malyon Scott. 
He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Harry "Harry Hippy" Willson, 55, a resident of Hahnville, died April 14. He was the father of Carolina Willson, Donna Calloway and Sharon Davis.
He was the brother of James and Charlie Willson Jr. and Rosalie Brown,Vera Willson, Ophelia Walker, Donna Meeks and Elaine Lumar.
He is survived by five grandchildren.
Services were April 21 at True Vine Baptist Chruch, Hahnville, with interment in Bethlehem Cemetery, Hahnville.

GRAMERCY - Nita Rivoire Davis, 84, a native of Breaux Bridge, lifelong resident of Gramercy and resident of Baton Rouge, died April 23. She was the wife of the late Stark L. Davis Jr. and mother of Gwendolyn Crouch, Judy Stamper and John Stark Davis.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 26 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gramercy, with interment at St. Joseph Mausoleum, Paulina.

FERGUSON
LAPLACE - William Ferguson, 82, a native of New Orleans and a resident of LaPlace for two years, died April 25. He was the husband by first marriage of the late Doris Ferguson and by second marriage of the late Denise Ferguson. He was father of Bill Ferguson and step-father of Coral Wimberly.
He was also the son of the late Joseph and Minnette Ferguson and brother of the late Joseph Ferguson.
He is also survived by four grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
He was an Army Air Force veteran of World War II and earned the Purple Heart.  He was a former vice president of Bellows Electric Signs, vice president of Industrial Signs of New Orleans and chairman of the Tri-Traders Commission in Washington D.C.   Services are today at 10 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, LaPlace, with interment at Lake Lawn Cemetery, New Orleans.  Visitation starts at 8 a.m.

VACHERIE - Alvin "Metoe" Keller, 59, a native and resident of Vacherie, died April 24.  He was the son of the late Noel and Lubertha James Keller and brother of Rosalie Joseph, Mary "Lubertha" Allen, Elix, Louis and Gufielle Keller and the late Noelle Becnel, Loretta Gros, Melvina Jackson, Pauline Dumas, Armond Bernard and Johnny Keller.
Services are today at 11 a.m. at Second Baptist Church, Vacherie, with interment at the church cemetery.  Visitation starts at 8:30 a.m.

GRETNA - Betty Laurent, 58, a native of Gretna and a resident of St. Charles Parish for two years, died April 22.  She was the mother of Lisa Berthelot, Annette Couch, Linda Tillis and Robert Guillot.
She was the daughter of Nora Laurent and the sister of Audrey Orgeron, Joyce Shafer, Jacqueline Hotard, Paullette McGintey, Beverly Lafont and Richard, Paul and David Laurent.
She is also survived by eight grandchildren.
Graveside services are today at 10 a.m. at Westlawn Memorial Park, Gretna.

LAPLACE - Eva Rousselle Perilloux, 89, a native of Lucy and a resident of LaPlace for 73 years, died April 24.  She was the wife of the late Cleveland Perilloux and mother of Joyce Millet, Cynthia Cambre and Cleveland Jr., Allen and the late G. Wayne Perilloux.   She was also the daughter of the late Ignace and Ernestine Rousselle and sister of the late Annette Deslattes, Leonie Madere and Adam, Pheophile, Ben and Leona Rousselle.
She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 27 in the chapel of Millet-Guidry Funeral Home, LaPlace, with interment at St. Peter Cemetery, Reserve.

CONVENT - Elviesha Marie "Bundy" Scott, 15, a native and resident of Convent, died April 19. She was the daughter of Lloyd Dupard and Sandra Scott and sister of Tamara Scott.
She was also the grandchild of Elvies and Marshall Scott Jr. and Felton Dupard Sr. and great-grandchild of Julie Scott.  Services were held April 24 at Young Pilgrim Baptist Church, Convent, with interment at St. Michael Cemetery, Convent.
