A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Philip Catholic Church in Vacherie for James W. "Side Cat" Celestine Sr., 93, a native and resident of Vacherie, who died on Dec. 20, 1997.
Burial will be at the church cemetery.
He was the father of Edward Thomas and James Celestine Jr., Laura Champagne; brother of Mildred C. Cayette of New Orleans and Deborah Celestine of New York. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was a retired farm worker.

Jean Dubois
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated for Jean Avet Dubois, 68, a native of Dulac and resident of Houma, who died on Dec. 23, 1997.

She was the mother Rick Dubois of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Darryl (Linda) Broussard of Houma, Mrs. Perry (Glenda) Beard of Cantonment, Fla., Judy Dubois of Alexandria and Mrs. Kenney (Tanya) Abadie of Destrehan; sister of Mrs. Johnny (Louise) Portier and Mrs. Percy (Marie) Collins, both of Dulac. She is also survived by seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Georgiana Pellegrin Avet; brothers, Joseph, Willis and Francis Avet, Sr.; sisters, Mrs. Charles (Justillia) Pellegrin and Mrs. Harry (Josephine) Martin.
She was a parishioner of St. Bernadette Catholic Church and a retired nursing assistant.

Morrison Guidry
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Friday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cut Off for Morrison Joseph Guidry, 72, a native of Golden Meadow and resident of Cut Off, who died at 2:06 p.m. Dec. 23, 1997.
Visitation will be 9 a.m. to noon Friday at the church.
Burial will be at Cheramie Cemetery.
He was the husband of Verda G. Guidry; father of Dale J. Guidry, Morrison Guidry Jr., and Kathy G. Richoux; brother of Herman, Robinson and James Guidry, Alzina G. Pitre, Nita G. Plaisance, Doris G. Stewart, Lolita G. Chouest and Ruth G. Lagarde. He is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sampson and Alexina C. Guidry; a son, Gary James Guidry; and brothers, Bobby, Roger and Sam Guidry.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Church, a U.S. navy of World War II, and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8538 and American Legion Post No. 315. He was a retired shrimper.

Clarence LeBoeuf
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin for Clarence J. "Tanoe" LeBoeuf, 91, a native of Little Caillou and resident of Chauvin, who died at 11:50 p.m. Dec. 22, 1997.
Burial will be at the church cemetery.
He was the father of Curtis P. LeBoeuf of Houma, Ruth LeBoeuf Thibodaux of Marrero, Jane L. Trahan, Yvonne L. Domangue and Joan L. Guidry, all of Chauvin. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Cornelia Song LeBoeuf; parents, Beattie and Olympe Hebert LeBoeuf; sons, Clarance LeBoeuf Jr. of Montegut and Olden "T-Ray" LeBoeuf of Houma; sisters, Sadie L. Blanchard, Estelle L. LeCompte, Leona Pitre and Pearl LeCompte.
He was a retired trapper.

Joseph Billiot Sr.
A religious service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Little Caillou Baptist Mission in Chauvin for Joseph Albert Billiot Sr., 63, a native of Houma and resident of Chauvin, who died at 12:24 a.m. Jan. 24, 1998.
Visitation will be 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Chauvin.
Burial will be at the St. Elie Cemetery in Chauvin.
He was the husband of Cheryl Chouest Billiot; brother of Joseph E. "Tout", Anthony, Clifford, Lorina and Irene Billiot. He is also survived by his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Manda Foret Billiot; grandmother, Mrs. Frank Foret; brother Ozame "Frere" Billiot.
He was a member of the Little Caillou Baptist Mission of Chauvin. He was a treater for many years.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Thibodaux for Sallie Marie Boudreaux, 50, a native of Thibodaux and resident of Chackbay, who died at 1:30 a.m. on Jan. 24, 1998.
Visitation will be 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Burial will be at the church cemetery.
She was the wife of Frank Boudreaux; mother of Frank Boudreaux Jr. and Tammy Boudreaux Delatte; sister of Terry Landry, Memphise Landry, Shirley Ordoyne and Rita Naquin.
She is also survived by three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomasie and Inez Thibodaux Landry, brothers, Stanley and Ronald Landry and sister, Loretta Ordoyne.
She was a parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a restaurant owner.

She was the wife of Mervin Clement; mother of Dion Clement, Selina Laurent, Darlene Schexnayder and Faith Clement; and sister of Donna Tabor.
She is also survived by six grandchildren.

She was the mother of Jerry C. Ledet. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert F. Ledet; parents, Jules Melancon and Laura Plaisance; sons Jimmy "Mickey" and Alvin J. Ledet; brothers, Jules Jr. and Octave Melancon; sisters, Anastasia M. Plaisance, Florence M. Cheramie and Lucia M. Danos.
She was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church and a member of the Ladies Altar Society. Her hobbies were gardening, embroidery and cooking.

She was the mother of Mrs. Wilbert (Mercedes) Knoblock. She is also survived by three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Joseph Ledet Sr.; parents, Felix Felice Bourgeois Ledet; and sons, Henry Joseph Jr. and Calvin Anthony Ledet.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Chauvin for Wilton J. Lirette Sr., 76, a native of Terrebonne Parish and resident of Chauvin, who died at 9:05 a.m. Jan. 24, 1998.
Burial was at the church cemetery.
He was the husband of Louella Chauvin Lirette; father of Terry Lirette of Houma, Wilton Lirette, Mrs. Eugene (Jerrydine) Pellegrin, and Mrs. Tommy (Rosalind) Martin, all of Chauvin; brother of Walter, Conrad, Randolph Lirette, all of Chauvin, Mrs. Edward (Latrine) Domangue Sr., Mrs. Murphy (Viola) Pellegrin, Mrs. Gerald (Beatrice) Blanchard of Chauvin; and half-brother of Willy Lirette of Chauvin. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and four step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Ida Boudreaux Lirette Sr., daughter, Rosalie Lirette, half-brothers, Edward and Albert Jr. Lirette; half-sister, Olivea Lirette Hebert; and two grandchildren.
He enjoyed fishing.

John Roe Sr.
A private service will be held for John E. Roe Sr., 70, a native of Bayou Chene and resident of Morgan City who died Jan. 24, 1998.
Services will be held at his home today and Tuesday following cremation.
Burial will be at sea.
He was the husband of Eva Dell Verrett Roe; father of Edward Thomas Roe Sr. of Bayou Vista, Michael Howard Roe of Missouri, John E. Roe Jr. of Alexandria, Ernest James Roe of Morgan City and Jeannie Roe Burnes. He was the brother of Eugene Roe of Denham Springs and Charles Roe of Morgan City.
He also is survived by 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Maude Veret Roe; and sisters, Minnie Green and Winnie Smallman.
He was a Methodist.
He received a Purple Heart for service in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of AARP and V.F.W. Post 442 and president of the Louisiana Crawfish Association.

Warren Bourgeois
A religious service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Thibodaux for Warren Joseph Bourgeois, 83, a native of Ged and resident of Thibodaux, who died on Feb. 9, 1998.
Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
Burial will be at Eberneza Baptist Cemetery in Zama, Miss.
He was the father of Peggy Bourgeois Elmore, Bonnie Yates, and Debra Bourgeois; brother of Tom, Philip, and Pearl Bourgeois. He is also survived by three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Shelley Bourgeois; his parents, Aaron and Henrietta Gaudet Bourgeois; and brother, Aaron Bourgeois.
He was retired from Gulf Oil after working 35 years as a highly respected employee. He started as a "rough neck" rising to supervisor of drilling. He worked in Venezuela, South America for four years and in various southern states. After retirement he worked as a consultant for Keydril Co., a subsidiary of Gulf Oil.
Donations to St. Louis Catholic High-Warren J. Bourgeois Scholarship Fund, 1620 Bank St., Lake Charles, LA 70601, are preferred.

Jones, both of Thibodaux; brother of Earl J. and Thomas Rhodes, both of Thibodaux, Lloyd Bernard Rhodes of San Marcus, Calif., Erma R. Young, Gertie R. Johnson, Elouise R. Peltier and Lillian R. Johnson, all of Thibodaux, Liska R. Wagner and Thelma Rhodes, both of Houston, Texas, and Eula Pearl R. Emanuel of Los Angeles, Calif. He is also survived by one grandson.

He was a Baptist and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He also liked to read.
