VILLE PLATTE - Services for Lawres “Catfish” “Mr. Cat” P. Landry, 81, will begin at 2 p.m. today at Queen of All Saints Catholic Church with the Rev. Randy Moreau officiating. Interment will be in the Old Ville Platte Cemetery.
A native of Delcambre and resident of Franklin for the past 47 years, Mr. Landry died at 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at Franklin Nursing Home. 
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Agnes Andrus Landry of Franklin and formerly of Ville Platte; and one son, Garrie Landry of Franklin.

Rosa B. Trahan
BROUSSARD - Services for Mrs. Sidney Trahan, 93, the former Rosa Broussard, will begin at 2 p.m. today at St. Anne Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Broussard Cemetery in Milton.
Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Broussard until the time of services.
A native of Maurice and resident of Youngsville, Mrs. Trahan died at 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at Magnolia Place Nursing Home in Lafayette.

Margaret Peltier
BRIDGE CITY, Texas - Services for Margaret (Maggie) Peltier, 72, will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Henry’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Jim McClintock officiating. Entombment will be in the Hillcrest Memorial Mausoleum in Orange, Texas.
Visitation will be today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Claybar Funeral Home.
A native of New Iberia and resident of Bridge City, Mrs. Peltier died Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur.
She was a former resident of Lydia, also known as Peoples Plantation, a homemaker and member of St. Henry’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Preston “PJ” Peltier Sr. of Bridge City; three sons, Preston “PJ” Peltier Jr. of Houston, Wayne Peltier of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Carl Peltier of Bridge City; two daughters, Irma Hannegan of West Monroe and Wanda Billups of Texas City; four sisters, Martha Domingue of Port Arthur, Rose Broussard, Ruby Hebert and Jeannie Oflarity all of New Iberia; and 10 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Peltier Jr., Jason Hannegan, Zachary Peltier, Craig Peltier, Hayden Peltier and Eric Billups.
Honorary pallbearers will be Len Hannegan and Tab Billups.

JEANERETTE - Services for Rebecca “Becky” Ann Broussard, 29, will begin at 11 a.m. Friday at St. John the Evangelist Church with the Rev. Ed Degeyter officiating. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 5-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David and Landry Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Friday.
A native of Jeanerette and resident of New Iberia, Ms. Broussard died at 1:27 p.m. Monday, May 4, 1998, at Cypremort Point (Weeks Bay).
She was a salesperson for Bayou Boeuf Electric, had worked for Jeanerette Mills for 8-9 years, and was a graduate of Jeanerette Senior High and the Academy Hair Design. 
Ms. Broussard is survived by her parents, Lucien Broussard and Rita Bonin Broussard of Jeanerette; one son, Matthew Paul Migues of New Iberia; her fiancee; Jeff Brandon of New Iberia; one brother, Kevin “Bruce” Broussard and his wife, Lisa of Jeanerette; one sister, Sheila Fay Broussard of Jeanerette; two nieces, Kara Broussard and Kayla Broussard, both of Jeanerette; her maternal grandmother, Bernadette Bonin of Jeanerette; and her ex-husband, Chad Migues.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Pierre Martel Broussard and Hilda Migues Broussard; her maternal grandfather, Ulysses “Crip” J. Bonin Sr.; and one aunt, Lillie B. Foco.
Pallbearers will be Kevin “Bruce” Broussard, Rodney J. Foco; Jeff Brandon, Chad Verret, Danny Dugas and Robert Picard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew P. Migues, Michelle Dugas, Valerie Brown, Brian Longman, Jr. and co-workers of Bayou Boeuf Electric.

JEANERETTE - Services for Mrs. Ervin B. LeGlue, 79, the former Angeline Landry, will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with the Rev. Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:30-8 p.m. today at David and Landry Funeral Home, which will reopen at 9 a.m. Saturday. 
A native and resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. LeGlue died at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, May 7, 1998, at Iberia Medical Center.
She was a retired telephone operator for South Central Bell.
Mrs. LeGlue is survived by one sister, Mrs. Norby (Eva) Dooley Sr. of Jeanerette; and two nephews Clyde Dooley of Baton Rouge and Norby Dooley Jr. of New Iberia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin B. LeGlue; her parents, Rene A. Landry and Clorie Louviere Landry; and one niece, Mary Catherine Dooley.
Pallbearers will be family members.

Martha H. Guillotte
FRANKLIN - Services for Martha Hebert Guillotte, 84, will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Church of Assumption with the Rev. Russo officiating. Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Ibert’s Chapel, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Saturday. 
Mrs. Guillotte died at 9:55 p.m. Wednesday. May 6, 1998, at Franklin Foundation Hospital.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and Ladies Altar Society.
Mrs. Guillotte is survived by one son, Larry A. Guillotte of New Iberia; six daughters, Mrs. Charles (Lois) Powell of Naperville, Ill., Mrs. Russell (Norma) Prince of Lydia, Mrs. Dewey (Dianne) Ryals of Orlando, Fla., Mrs. Roy (Emily) Louviere of Houston, Mrs. Donnie (Fay) Coots and Mrs. Tony (Lorraine) Scelfo, both of Franklin; two sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Nora) Clements of Charenton and Mrs. Dalton (Mamie) Broussard of Franklin; 18 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin “Blue” Guillotte; her parents, Odressie Hebert and Christine Martin Hebert; four brothers, Bennette, Emile, Charles Ray and Dennis Hebert; three sisters, Odette Louviere, Grace Delane and Lena Comeaux and one grandson, Todd Anthony Guillotte.
Pallbearers will be the grandsons of Mrs. Guillotte.

KENNER - Services for Forester J. Sicard, 87, were held Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home. Entombment was in the Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
A native and resident of Kenner, Mr. Sicard died Sunday, May 3, 1998.
He is survived by his wife, Violet Nick Sicard of Kenner; one daughter, Mrs. Michael J. (Faye Nick Sicard) Tarantino of New Iberia; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services for Hilda Charles, 62, the former Hilda Brooks, will begin at 8 p.m. today at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home with the Rev. Harold Sayrie officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Olive Baptist Church Cemetery.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Charles died at 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, May, 5, 1998, at Dauterive Hospital.
She was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.
Mrs. Charles is survived by her husband, Larry Charles of New Iberia; her mother, Irene George Brooks of New Iberia; four sons, Carl Mitchell, Carlos James Brooks, Steve Charles and William Charles, all of New Iberia; two daughters, Brendell Joseph and Alene Cerf, both of New Iberia; one brother, Harold Brooks of New Iberia; five sisters, Florence Darby, Rena Johnson, Alzena Spencer, Marie James and Catherine Gregoire, all of New Iberia; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her father, Dalton Brooks; one brother, Cornelieus Brooks; and one sister, Aldora Brooks Thomas.

ABBEVILLE - Services for Betty Frederick, 46, will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Greater Pleasant Green Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael C. Wright officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-10 p.m. today at the Fletcher Funeral Home, which will reopen from 7:30 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Saturday and resume at the church at 1 p.m.
A resident of Abbeville for many years, Mrs. Frederick died at 10:25 a.m. Thursday, April 30, 1998, at Abbeville General Hospital, following a brief illness.
She is survived by a devoted companion, John McDonald of Abbeville; three sons, Courtney Frederick, Cornelius Frederick and Lodgie Frederick, all of Abbeville; one daughter, Rena Frederick of Abbeville; three brothers, Wevis Small Jr. and James Davenport, both of Abbeville, and Walter Davenport of Providence, RI.; four sisters, Mary Joyce Davenport and Mary Small, both of Abbeville, Lillie Bell Johnson and Sherry Davenport, both of Houston; 11 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Frederick was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Davenport and Mable N. Davenport; and one sister, Darlene Evans.
Pallbearers will be Courtney Frederick, Cornelius Frederick, Lodgie Frederick, James Guidry, Allen Small and Troy Walker.

JEANERETTE - Services for Frank Scott will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Arthur Lee Jones officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 8 a.m. Saturday at the church until the time of services.
A resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Scott died at 8:08 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 1998, at Maison Teche Nursing Home following a brief illness.
He was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church where he served as a member of the Senior Choir and was a member of Harry Eugene American Legion Post 549 of Jeanerette.
Mr. Scott is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Randolph Scott and Orelia Elaire Scott; and three sisters, Geneva S. Wiles, Lena Bobb and Lee Scott.
Pallbearers will be Bernard Rideaux, JoVani Alexander, Donald Ray Wells, Tommy Lewis, Elijah Lewis and Coray LaCraig Wiles.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today, at the funeral home, which will reopen at 10 a.m. Saturday until time of interment.
A native of Charenton and resident of Baldwin for several years, Mrs. Carter died at 9:26 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, 1998, at the Franklin Foundation Hospital.
She was a missionary.
Mrs. Carter is survived by her father, Ernest Bartley Jr. of Charenton; one daughter, Cheryl A. Carter of Baldwin; five brothers, Wilfred Bartley Sr., Alfred Bartley Sr. and Rufus Bartley, all of Charenton, Darrell Bartley of New Orleans and John Bartley of Port Arthur, Texas; four sisters, Cecile Bartley and Joyce Keal, both of Charenton, Enola Abraham and Jane Harding, both of Baldwin and one grandchild.
Mrs. Carter was preceded in death by her mother, Evelina Keal Bartley.

A resident of St. Martinville, Mrs. Jones died Monday, May 4, 1998, at the St. Martinville Nursing Home.
Mrs. Jones is survived by six sons, Alvin Jones Sr., Alfred Jones Jr., Richard Jones and Roy Jones, all of St. Martinville, and Freddie A. Jones Sr. and Grady Jones Sr., both of Franklin; two daughters, Hellen Durand and Hilda Jones Foster, both of St. Martinville; five brothers, Robert Fontenette, Tony Fontenette, Whitney Fontenette, Floyd Fontenette and Herman Fontenette, all of Port Arthur, Texas; six sisters, Alberta Williams of Cade, Castillia Orphe, Shirley Lewis, Margaret Fontenette and Prenella Benjamin, all of St. Martinville, and Elaine Green of Broussard; 29 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Jones; two sons, Warren and Tommy Jones; one daughter, Rosa Mae Jones; five brothers, Perry, Roy, Peter, Richard and Merlyn Fontenette; and two sisters, Mable Porter and Maudry Porter.

A native of Livingston Parish and resident of Alexandria, Mrs. Delhomme died at 5:15 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 1998, at The Summit Nursing Home in Alexandria.
She was a former resident of New Iberia and a member of the First Baptist Church of New Iberia for over 60 years where she taught Sunday School. Mrs. Delhomme was active in Women’s Missionary Union and was a bookkeeper.
Mrs. Delhomme is survived one son, Richard L. "Dick" Delhomme of New Iberia; two daughters, Catherine Alexander of Jeanerette and Sylvia Walter of Pineville; three brothers, Carl Eccles of Baton Rouge, Cecil Eccles of Houston and Elton Eccles of Walker; one sister, Wilma O’Neal of Baton Rouge; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Joseph Delhomme; her parents, Thomas T. Eccles and Lavinia King Eccles; and one brother, Marion Eccles.
Pallbearers will be William Bret Walter, Galen Micah Alexander, James Arlen Alexander, Richard L. "Dick" Delhomme, Alfred Joseph Delhomme II and Byron L. Eyre.

ERATH - Services for William Reeve “Billy” Duck, 38, will begin at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Rev. Wayne Duet officiating. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.

A native of Sausalito, Calif., and resident of Erath, Mr. Duck died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 10, 1998, on an offshore rig in the Gulf in a work-related accident.
He was a 1978 graduate of Erath High School and was employed by Fluid Crane and Construction as a crane superintendent.
Mr. Duck is survived by his father, Durwood Duck of Alexandria; his mother, Gayle Broussard Duck of Erath; his fiancee, Vanessa Brasseaux and her daughter Brooke of Abbeville; two sisters, Mrs. Edrick (Sheila) Leblanc of Delcambre and Mrs. Carl (Patrice) Rogers of Erath; and four nieces.
He was preceded in death by one brother, David Neal Duck; his maternal grandparents, David and Tessie Richard Broussard; and his paternal grandparents, Dallas and Maude Hebert Duck.
Pallbearers will be Scott Backstrom, David Broussard Jr., Greg Menard, Jason Menard, Carson Nunez and Brent Perrin.
Honorary pallbearer will be Ed Domingues.

A native of Evergreen and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Daigle died at 10:03 a.m. Sunday May, 10, 1998, in a local hospital.
She is survived by one son, Stephen L. Daigle of Yorba Linda, Calif.; three nieces, Mrs. George (Janie) Cousin of New Iberia, Pattie Lesage of Smithville, N.J., and Mrs. Michael (Carol) Pistorius of Minden; three nephews, Frank S. Brown Jr. of Metairie, Charles Gary Brown of Carrolton, Texas, and Bob Stewart of Bay City, Texas; and one sister, Audrey B. Chauvin of New Iberia.
Mrs. Daigle was preceded in death by her husband, Landry L. Daigle; her parents, Edward and Bena J. Duval Griffin; one brother, Frank S. Brown Sr.; and one sister, Gertrude G. Stewart.
Pallbearers will be Stephen L. Daigle, Frank S. Brown Jr., Charles Gary Brown, George B. Cousin, Michael L. Pistorius and Frank S. Brown III.

A native of Vermilion Parish and resident of Houma, Mr. Landry died at 1:50 a.m. Monday, May 11, 1998, at Southdown Care Center in Houma.

Memorial services for Robbie Lee Trantham Young, 72, were held at 9 a.m. today at Azalea Villa Nursing Home with the Rev. Mike Guidry, pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, officiating.
A native of Cleburne, Texas, and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Young died at 7:14 p.m. Thursday, May 7, 1998, at a New Iberia hospital.
She is survived by one son, Harold E. Trantham of New Iberia; four grandchildren, Terresa Cardina of Phoenix, Jason Trantham of Mayfield, Ky., James Trantham and Harold Trantham Jr., both of New Iberia; and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her parents, Robert E. and Bessie Warren Lee; her first husband, Harold M. Trantham; and her second husband, James A. Young.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Molbert died at 10:42 a.m. Monday, May 11, 1998, at a Lafayette hospital.
She was an avid golf player and bowler, and had won several city and parish golf championships.
Mrs. Molbert is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Jim (Sally M.) Angers and Mrs. Bobby (Liz M.) Bodin, both of New Iberia; one daughter-in-law, Mrs. Raymond “Rip” (Harriet LeBlanc) Molbert Jr. of New Iberia; one brother, E.R. “Smitty” Smith Jr. of New Iberia; one sister, Mrs. Larry (Frankie) Toups of New Iberia; six grandchildren, Tim DeClouet, Ben DeClouet, Mia Molbert Landry, Becky Angers and Rip Molbert III, all of New Iberia, and Jim Angers Jr. of Carencro; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond “Rip” Molbert Sr.; one son, Raymond “Rip” Molbert Jr.; her parents, Elbridge Ruffin and Angelle Romero Smith Sr.; and three sisters, Hester S. Derise, Margaret S. Dennison and Dorothy “Dot” Smith.

A native and resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Buteau died at 3:20 p.m. Monday, May 11, 1998, at Iberia Medical Center.
He was a retired rough neck with Diamond M. Drilling and Texaco.
Mr. Buteau is survived by one son, Joseph J. “Joe” Buteau of Jeanerette; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lucien Buteau and Elmire Guillotte Buteau; one son, Moses “Moe” Buteau; one daughter, Lula Belle B. LaRieve; and three brothers, Alfred Buteau, Paul Buteau and Thonis Buteau.

Services are pending for Lafayette resident, Clem Curtis, 89, who died at 2 a.m. today, May 12, 1998, at a Lafayette nursing home.

Sylvia M. James
LOREAUVILLE – Services for Sylvia Marie James, 45, the former Sylvia Marie Polk, will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Zion No. 1 Baptist Church with the Rev. Shawn Watson officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the church, which will reopen at 7 a.m. Thursday.
A native and lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. James died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, May 9, 1998, at Baptist Memorial Medical Center in New Orleans following a lengthy illness.
She was a member of the Young Matrons at Mt. Zion No. 1 Baptist Church, the Jubilee Choir and the Jubilee Singing Convention.
Mrs. James is survived by her husband, Archie Joseph James of New Iberia; her parents, Woodrow Wilson Polk Sr. and Mildred Thibodeaux Polk of New Iberia; three sons, Derrick Shawn James, Archie Joseph James Jr. and Marcus Gregory James, all of New Iberia; four brothers, Rogers Polk, Woodrow Wilson Polk Jr., Frank Polk and Anthony Polk, all of New Iberia; and five sisters, Mary Lee Polk Delahoussaye of Lafayette, Elizabeth Ann Polk Broussard, Debra Polk Placide, Denise Polk Garrette and Vanessa Polk Martin, all of New Iberia.
She was preceded in death by a stillborn twin sister; her maternal grandparents, Mary “Mame” C. Polk and Junius Polk Sr.; and one niece, La Tonya La Shay Placide.
Pallbearers will be Arthur Malveaux, Henry Hypolite, Rashad Delahoussaye, Donna Ledet, James Jones, Bryan Livingston and Wilson Livingston Jr.

Louis Sonn Sr.
Services for Louis “Elsegundo” Sonn Sr., 60, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Star Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Rev. Francis Davis officiating. Interment will be in the St. Matthew Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church.
A native of Opelousas and resident of New Iberia for 30 years, Mr. Sonn died at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 1998, at a Lafayette hospital following a lengthy illness.
Mr. Sonn is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Bazile Sonn of New Iberia; his stepmother, Annie Dot Sonn of Longview, Texas; three sons, Michael James Sonn of New Iberia, Kenneth Wayne Joseph and Louis Sonn Jr., both of Beaumont, Texas; five daughters, Sandra Sophus, Gethel S. Dauphiney, Edith Theresa Sonn, Jennifer Sonn and Elizabeth Sonn, all of New Iberia; four brothers, Rev. Joseph Taylor and Clarence Sonn, both of Beaumont, Texas; and Paul Sonn and Willie James Horns, both of Opelousas; one sister, Evelyn H. Toussaint of Opelousas; and 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cleveland Sonn; his mother, Ophelia Hudson Horns; and one grandson, Justin Jamal Sonn.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Hector, William Landry, Wayne Sophus, Kevin Tauriac, Juan Derrick Horns and Kent Levine.
