A native of Patoutville and resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Guillotte
died at 1:26 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, 1997, at Columbia Dauterive Hospital
in New Iberia.
She was a teacher-aide at Bambi Headstart.
Mrs. Guillotte is survived by four sons, Kirk Guillotte and Tommy Guillotte,
both of New Iberia, Lynn Guillotte of Jeanerette and Rodney Guillotte of
Sorrell; five daughters, Paula Guillotte Figueroa and Agnes Guillotte Lalonde,
both of New Iberia, Debra Guillotte Landry and Toni Guillotte Mendoza,
both of Jeanerette, and Diana Guillotte Olander of Cypremort Point; and
30 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Claytus Derouen; her stepfather,
Johnny Telotta; her mother, Mary Lancon Telotta; her brother, Dudley Derouen;
and her sister, Agnes Derouen Guillotte.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Coleman died at 8:36 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997, at Columbia Dauterive
Hospital following a brief illness.
He was the oldest member of Star Temple Baptist Church where he also
served on the deacon board.
Mr. Coleman is survived by two sons, Caldwell Coleman of Huntington,
Md. and Alton J. Coleman of Henrietta, New York; two daughters, Doretha
C. Dilworth and Dorothy C. Burruss, both of Rochester, New York; two daughters-in-law,
Brenda Coleman of Huntington and Mary Theresa Coleman of Henrietta; two
sisters, Catherine Shallow of Galveston, Texas, and Amelia Polk of Port
Arthur, Texas; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host
of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Avia S. Coleman; his parents,
Jules and Cecelia Beals Coleman; and one brother, James Broussard.

Polk of New Iberia and Kenneth John Polk of Heidenburg, Germany; five daughters,
Barbara Simon of Beaumont, Texas, Betty Jean Polk, Emma Batiste and Mary
Nell Moore, all of Houston, and Linda Broadnax of Sugarland, Texas; two
brothers, Albert Jones Sr. of New Iberia and Ernest Jones of Houston; one
sister, Hilda Trahan of Los Angeles; one beloved son-in-law, Edward Broadnax
of Sugarland; 27 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren;
and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Mrs. Polk was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Polk Sr.; her
parents, Frazier and Neomia Jones; one brother, Norris Jones; and two sisters,
Marjie J. Calhoun, and Lorena J. Wilfred.

Mr. Norris is survived by his wife, Anna Mae Trahan Norris of New Iberia;
one son, Terry J. Norris of Lafayette; one brother, Dennis Norris of New
Iberia; one sister, Lula Mae N. Romero of New Iberia; three grandsons,
Toby J. Norris of New Iberia, Beau M. Norris and Stephen Thomas, both of
Lafayette; and one great-granddaughter, McKinley P. Norris of New Iberia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie E. and Edna Viator Norris;
and one brother, Anoie Norris.

Mr. Verret is survived by two sisters-in-law, Helen Curry and Jane

one nephew, Floyd John Curry; one great-nephew, John Curry; and two great-nieces,

She is survived by her husband, Lorenzo Ball of Abbeville; three sons,
Eugene Nunez of Austin, Texas, Cuvie Nunez of Abbeville, and Loison Nunez
Jr. of Houston; one stepson, Nathaniel Ball of Reedville, Va.; four daughters,
Gwendolyn E. Campbell, Cassandra Y. Nunez and Demetria G. Nunez, all of
Abbeville, and Valorie A. Bernard of Austin, Texas; two stepdaughters,
Marla Ball of Norton, Va. and Melissa Ball of Baltimore, Md.; two sisters,
Melba Levine of Dallas and Mary D. Bessard of Abbeville; 24 grandchildren;
and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Rose Williams Bessard.

Myrtle Brown
ABBEVILLE - Services for Myrtle Brown, 67, the former Myrtle Campbell
will begin at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Truimph Baptist Church with the
Rev. Henry Maze officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-10 p.m. today with a wake service to begin
at 8 p.m. at Fletcher's Funeral Home Chapel which will reopen at 7 a.m.
Saturday.
A native of Abbeville for many years, Mrs. Brown died at 5:20 a.m.
Saturday, Oct. 11, 1997, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center
following a lengthy illness.
She was a member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, a member of Mount
Triumph Baptist Church Choir, an educator for 40 years and a member of
the Retired Teachers Association.
Mrs. Brown is survived by nine brothers, Haley Campbell Jr. and Lloyd
Campbell Sr., both of Gidding, Texas, J.C. Campbell, Roland Campbell, Elmore
Campbell, Ivory Campbell, Joseph Campbell, Michael "Kimble" Campbell and
Gibson "Rick" Campbell, all of Abbeville; three sisters, Evelyn C. Pradia
of Lafayette, Sophia Minor and Chrissilla Mire; a very loyal and faithful
friend, Joyce A. Landry; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Brown; her parents,
Haley Campbell and Veda H. Campbell Sr.; two brothers, Wilton Campbell
and Eddie Campbell; and one sister, Janie C. Robinson.
Pallbearers will be Desi S. Campbell, Pierre R. Campbell, Juan K. Campbell,
Michael Campbell, Kenneth Campbell, Vincent B. Pradia, Cedric S. Robinson,
John Campbell and Cordell Guidry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Haley Campbell Sr., J.C. Campbell, Lloyd
Campbell Sr., Roland Campbell, Joseph Campbell, Floyd Campbell, Godard
Shelvin, Roland Hill, Gibson Rick Campbell, Michael Campbell, Kevin Campbell
and Sisters of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority.

Mark B. Guillot
Services for Mark Bryan Guillot, 29, will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday
at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Steve LeBlanc officiating.
Entombment will be in the Beau Pre Mausoleum in Jeanerette.
Visitation will be from 4:30-10 p.m. today with a 6:30 p.m. rosary
at David Mortuary, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Saturday until the time
of services.
A native of New Orleans and resident of Rose Pine, Mr. Guillot died
at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 1997, in Oberlin.
He was an electrician for E.P. Breaux Electrical and a U.S. Army veteran,
having served in Desert Storm.
Mr. Guillot is survived by his parents, Wayne F. and Brenda Benoit
Guillot of New Iberia; one daughter, Monique Guillot of Liuttenau, Germany;
his fiancee, Pat Dockery of Rose Pine; one sister, Michelle Guillot Minvielle
of New Iberia; his paternal grandmother, Leona Fremin Guillot of New Iberia;
and his maternal grandparents, Reno and Ethel Benoit of Abbeville.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Frank Guillot.
