Betty M. Gautreaux
Services for Mrs. Evans Paul Gautreaux, the former Betty Moulin, 70, will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with Father Albert Boumans officiating. Entombment will be in Lake Lawn Mausoleum in Metairie.
Visitation will be observed today from 4 to 8 p.m. at David Mortuary, which will reopen Monday from 8 a.m. until the time of services. A Rosary will be recited tonight at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
A native of New Orleans and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Gautreaux died at 7:40 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 1997, at her residence.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Gautreaux is survived by four sons and their wives, Paul and Susan Gautreaux of New Iberia, James and Molly Gautreaux and Tom and Suzi Gautreaux, all of Loreauville and John and Barbara Gautreaux of St. Martinville; one daughter and her husband, Janet and Mark Barrilleaux of Kenner; 10 grandchildren, Michael Gautreaux and Dana Gautreaux, both of Lafayette, Wesley Gautreaux, Steven Gautreaux and Daniel Gautreaux, all of New Iberia, Lisa Gautreaux, Paige Gautreaux and Jacob Gautreaux, all of Loreauville, and Bonnie Barrilleaux and Katie Barrilleaux, both of Kenner; two step-grandchildren, Shane Touchet and Larry Touchet Jr., both of St. Martinville; and one sister-in-law, Hazel Gautreaux of Belle Chase.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Evans Paul Gautreaux; her father, Thomas Edwin Moulin; and her mother, Myrtle Garrity Moulin.
Pallbearers will be Paul Gautreaux, John Gautreaux, James Gautreaux, Tom Gautreaux, Wesley Gautreaux and Michael Gautreaux.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Iberia Humane Society, Troy Road, New Iberia.

Evelyn D. Lockard
Memorial services for Evelyn D. Lockard, 73, are scheduled for Monday morning at the David Mortuary Chapel.
A resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Lockard died Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997 at her residence.
No visitation will be held prior to the memorial service.
She is survived by one son, Kyle Lockard of New Iberia; three daughters, Charlotte Thompson and Peggy Morton, both of Houston, and Debbie Lockard of Broussard; one sister, Dot Daigle of New Iberia; three half-sisters, Barbara Daigle and Willie Daigle, both of Carencro, and Sandra Daigle of Kaplan; three half-brothers, Daniel Daigle and Gerald Daigle, both of Scott, and Ray Daigle of Lafayette; six grandchildren, January Arcement and Samantha Morton, both of New Iberia, Chad Thompson and Beau James Mayne, both of Houston, Shawn Thompson of Germany and Jerry Morton of Boston, Mass.; four great-grandchildren, Hunter Arcement, Cody Gary and Amber Broussard, all of New Iberia, and Johnathan Morton of Germany.
Mrs. Lockard was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Raymond Lockard; her mother, Bertha Verret Daigle; her father, Willie Daigle, and one grandson, Zachary Morton.

Ignace Peltier
ERATH - Services for Ignace Peltier, 81, will begin at 3 p.m. today at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Rev. Wayne Duet officiating. Entombment will be in the church mausoleum.
Visitation was held Saturday from 4 to 10 p.m. at Broussard Funeral Home, which reopened today at 8 a.m.
Mr. Peltier died at 12:35 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997 at Abbeville General Hospital.
He is survived by his former wife, Lulla Mae Trahan of New Iberia; one son, Jerry James Peltier of Sulphur; two sisters, Mrs. George (Zola) Potter of Port Arthur, Texas, and Mrs. Lorenznie Bourque of Abbeville; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Peltier was preceded in death by his wives, Nilta Landry and Amy Gaspard; his parents, Amaedues and Alisa Norman Peltier; two sisters, Esther (Sis) Peltier and Wilda Peltier Doucet; and one brother, Otto Peltier.
Pallbearers will be Gary Peltier, Nerry Romero, Timmy Landry and Carroll, Curtis, Calvin, Saul and Corey Touchet.

Benjamin C. Nelson
Services for Benjamin Carl Nelson, 18 months, will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with the Rev. Steven LeBlanc officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery in St. Martinville.
Visitation will be held today from 4:30 to 10 p.m. at David Mortuary with a rosary to be recited at 8 p.m. The funeral home will reopen Monday at 9 a.m. until the time of services.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Nelson died at 11:20 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 1997, at Shriners Hospital in Galveston, Texas.
He is survived by his father, Thomas Nelson of New Iberia; his mother, Angela Faye Broussard Nelson of New Iberia; three brothers, Jake Fred Meyers, Ethan Kenneth Nelson and Nicholas Andrew Nelson, all of New Iberia; his grandmother, Armine Steele of New Iberia; his step-grandfather, Roy Steele Sr. of New Iberia; and three great-grandmothers, Julie Broussard of St. Martinville, Jewel Gibson of Andrews, Texas, and Olive Martin of New Iberia.
He was preceded in death by two grandfathers, Fred Joseph Broussard and Kenneth Nelson; and one grandmother, Joyce Nelson.
Pallbearers will be Steven Babineaux, Rocky Boutte, Raymond Boutte Jr. and Alwin Boutte. Honorary pallbearers will be Darryl Walker, Rainey Frederick, Lloyd LeBlanc, Matt Randazzo and Raymond Boutte Sr.

MERMENTAU - Services for Nelson A. Thibodeaux Sr., 75, will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John the Evangelist Church with the Rev. Paul Metrejean officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memory Gardens in Lake Charles.
Visitation will be begin at 11 a.m. today and continue until the time of services. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. tonight at Matthews and Son Funeral Home of Jennings.
A native and lifelong resident of Mermentau Cove, Mr. Thibodeaux died at 1:10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997 at his residence.
He was a field representative for Barod Petroleum.
Mr. Thibodeaux is survived by his wife, Amy Dolmage Thibodeaux of Mermentau Cove and formerly of Lake Charles; one son, Eugene Thibodeaux of Lake Charles; three stepsons, Jack Dolmage of Lake Charles, Kenneth Dolmage of Harrison, Ark. and Donald Dolmage of Houston; three daughters, Patricia Amerson of Hamshire, Texas, Mrs. Huey (Rowena) Delahoussaye of New Iberia and Mrs. Carl (Sherry) Smith of Eunice; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Evie Tramonte of Lake Charles; two brothers, Wilton Thibodeaux of Crowley and Enos Thibodeaux Jr. of Winnie, Texas; one sister, Wilda Thibodeaux of Winnie' one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren, and 13 step-great-grandchildren.

LOREAUVILLE - Services for Chrystalie Benoit, the former Chrystalie Antoine, 54, will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with the Rev. John V. Choorackunnel officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church cemetery.
Visitation will be held today from 4 to 10 p.m. at Fletcher Funeral Home with a rosary scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The funeral home will reopen Monday at 7 a.m. with the procession going to Loreauville at 9:30 a.m.
A native of Loreauville and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Benoit died at 12:37 p.m. Friday, Sept. 26, 1997, at her residence following a brief illness.
She is survived by her husband, Wilbert Benoit of New Iberia; her mother, Josephine Mitchell of Loreauville; three brothers, Paul Mitchell of St. Martinville, Thomas Mitchell of Loreauville and Gilbert Mitchell of New Iberia; four sisters, Sally Lavine of Morbihan, Virginia Thompson of Victoria, Texas, Lou Ann Noel of Port Lavaca, Texas, and Carolyn Wysner of Lancaster, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Benoit was preceded in death by her father, Calvin Antoine; three children, Patricia, Patrick and Coretta Amos; one brother, Stanley Mitchell Jr., and her grandparents.
Pallbearers will be members of the immediate family.

A native of Delcambre and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Belanger died at 1:05 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 1997, at her residence.
She was a retired sales clerk of Sears and Roebuck, a member of Bayou Sugar Belles Club, a member of the Nativity Birthday Club and a volunteer at St. Francis Diner for Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church.
Mrs. Belanger is survived by her husband, Joel Luke Belanger Sr. of New Iberia; her mother, Jeanne B. Sonnier Creduer of New Iberia; one son, Arthur "Artie" Verret Jr. of New Iberia; one stepson, Joel Luke Belanger II of Erath, two daughters, Belinda Verret Boudreaux and Elizabeth Joy "Liz" Verret Fielding, both of New Iberia; two stepdaughters, Michelle Belanger Fontenot of Delcambre and Renee' Belanger Thompson of Coushatta; one brother, J.R. "Bruce" Broussard of New Iberia; one sister, Priscilla Ann Armentor of Delcambre; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her father, Isaac Joseph Broussard Sr.; and one brother, Isaac Joseph Broussard Jr.

A native of Lawrence Point and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Mler died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997, at Columbia Dauterive Hospital.

A native of Lafayette and resident of New Iberia for many years, Mr. Breaux died at 6:50 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 1997, at Iberia Medical Center following a brief illness.
He was associate pastor of Second Missionary Baptist Church in Jeanerette and the Star Pilgrim Baptist Church in New Iberia for many years. He served in the United States Marine Corp. and was a retired carpenter.
Mr. Breaux is survived by his wife, Stella Brown Breaux of New Iberia; two sons, Arthur Lee Breaux Jr. and Raymond Washington of Lafayette; one son-in-law, John F. Plumber of Lafayette; five daughters, Patricia Clay and Becky B. Plumber, both of Lafayette, Shirley Breaux Wingwood of Austin, Texas, Rose Mary Brown and Shakeithia Breaux, both of New Iberia; one daughter-in-law, Sheila L. Davis of Lafayette; three brothers, Pat Breaux, Allen Breaux and Robert Breaux, all of Lafayette; three sisters, Laura Malveaux, Anita Smith and Alice Faye Colomb, all of Lafayette; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A resident of Franklin, Mr. Brooks died Monday, Oct. 6, 1997, at Franklin Nursing Home.

A native of St. Martinville and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Boudreaux died at 9:24 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8, 1997, in a local nursing home.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during W.W.II. He was also employed with the city of New Iberia.
Mr. Boudreaux is survived by his wife, Azalie Simon of New Iberia; four sons, Emile Boudreaux of Kentucky, Earl Boudreaux of Cecilia, John Landry of Catahoula and Johnny Valentine of New Orleans; three daughters, Mrs. Junius (Shirley) Hoffpauir and Mrs. Patrick (Joann) Sweeney, both of New Iberia, and Mrs. Steven (Linda) Breland of Lacombe; two brothers, Dudley Boudreaux and Oniel Boudreaux, both of St. Martinville; four sister, Mrs. Irving (Agnes) Louviere of Loreauville, Mrs. Allen (Shirley) Berard and Mrs. Pete (Patsy) Kidder, both of Coteau Holmes, and Mrs. Rudy (Mary Jane) Melancon of Coteau; 19 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by three sons, Donald Farmer, Dwight Farmer and his wife, Jeannie Larroque Farmer, and Joey Farmer and his wife Tessie Romero Farmer, all of New Iberia; two daughters, Bonnie Fremin of New Iberia and Mrs. Nelson (Frankie) Menard of New Orleans; one brother, Fred Romero of New Iberia; one stepbrother, Paul Romero of New Iberia; 10 grandchildren, Nelson and Crishella Menard of New Orleans, Kyla, Kelly and Kassy Fremin, Kayliey, Nicholas, Dominic, Jake and Chance Farmer, all of New Iberia.
Mrs. Farmer was preceded in death by her husband, Ocie Lee Farmer; her parents, Alexis and Lucille Romero; two brothers, Walter Romero and Rodney Romero; and one sister, Ernest Romero.
Pallbearers will be Wally Romero, Jake Farmer, Nelson Menard, Nelson Menard Jr., Scott Romero and Zack Reaux.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dwight Farmer, Donald Farmer, Joey Farmer and Blaine Hebert.

Anna R. Comeaux
Services for Mrs. Wilton P. Comeaux Sr., the former Anna Mae Romero, 70, will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church with Rev. Daniel Picard officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.

A native of Coteau and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Comeaux died at 2:53 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 9, 1997, at Columbia Dauterive Hospital.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Comeaux is survived by her husband, Wilton P. Comeaux Sr. of New Iberia; two sons, Gerald Joseph Comeaux and Wilton P. Comeaux Jr., both of New Iberia; two daughters, Gloria Hughes of New Iberia and Joann Landry of Kirkland, Wash.; three sisters, Edmae Crochet of New Iberia and Victoria Gary and Edmia Romero, both of Coteau; two brothers, Elmo Romero of New Iberia and Joseph Romero of Coteau; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gustave Romero; her mother, Eudia Gary; five brothers, Roy Romero, Whitney Romero, Wilde Romero, Wilfred Romero and Willie Romero; and one sister, Lily Mae Thibodeaux.

Robert C. Fox
Memorial services for Robert Clement Fox, 56, will begin at 4 p.m. Sunday at The First United Methodist Church.
A native of New Iberia and resident of Guadalajara, Mexico, Mr. Fox died Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997, after a long and courageous battle with prostate cancer.
Mr. Fox was vice president of Red Fox Companies before retiring in 1991. Soon after, he used his creative talents and business acumen to help his wife, Emma Bassin Fox, turn their home into the acclaimed Pourtos House Bed and Breakfast. In 1995, Mr. Fox fulfilled one of his lifelong dreams when he and his wife retired to Gualalajara. He was an active member in the Iberia Parish community for 20 years, serving in various industry associations, including the Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce as secretary, vice president, president and member of the board of directors; board director of the Bank of Iberia, and board member of the International Trade Exposition, A Council for a Better Louisiana and the Better Business Bureau of Acadiana Inc. He was a past member of the Iberia Industrial Group, the Louisiana Civil Service League and the Port of Iberia Steering Committee.
Mr. Fox held many positions in the community and social associations, including the New Iberia Optimist Club, as director, vice president, president, lieutenant governor and secretary. He was chairman of the Council of the Shadows-on-the-Teche, president of the Iberia Parish United Givers Fund and board member of the Iberia Golf and Country Club. Finding great joy and appreciation for the city's Mardi Gras traditions, Mr. Fox served on the Krewe of Andalusia Board of Directors for many years, and in 1981 he was the 25th anniversary King of the Krewe of Andalusia.
He rececived many community awards for his generosity and achievement. Mr. Fox was the recipient of two Greater Iberia Chamber of Commerce "Outstanding Contribution to our Community" awards, The New Iberia Optimist Club International President Golden Circle Award and a Distinguished President Award. He also was acknowledged by the New Iberia Park and Recreation Department with a Certificate of Appreciation for "Developing Neighborhood Playgrounds."
Mr. Fox was a member of the First United Methodist Church in New Iberia and served on the administrative board, finance committee and council on ministries. He attended LSU and earned a bachelor's degree in business and liberal arts from USL in 1963 and 1964, was a charter member of Eta Nu chapter of the Sigma Nu Fraternity at USL and was an active member of Phi chapter at LSU.
He is survived by his wife, Emma Bassin Fox; one son, David Eldridge Fox and his wife Gina Fox of Atlanta; two daughters, Kirsten Grills Fox of Atlanta and Adrienne Fox Luscombe and her husband David Luscombe of Washington, D.C.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Beldon E. Fox Sr. of New Iberia; one brother, Beldon E. Fox Jr. of Lafayette; and two grandsons, Cory and Kaelon Fox of Atlanta.

Barron Coleman
Services for Barron Coleman, 96, will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Star Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronell Cheatham officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Coleman died at 8:36 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997, at Columbia Dauterive Hospital following a brief illness.
He was the oldest member of Star Temple Baptist Church where he also served on the deacon board.
Mr. Coleman is survived by two sons, Caldwell Coleman of Huntington, Md., and Alton J. Coleman of Henrietta, New York; two daughters, Doretha C. Dilworth and Dorothy C. Burruss, both of Rochester, New York; two daughters-in-law, Brenda Coleman of Huntington and Mary Theresa Coleman of Henrietta; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Avia S. Coleman; his parents, Jules and Cecelia Beals Coleman; and one brother, James Broussard.
Pallbearers will be Wilbert Mitchell, Rodney Simon and Billy Livingston.

Mr. Jones was prececded in death by his parents, Herman and Zoway Flugence Jones Sr.; six brothers, Clarence Jones Sr., Herman Jones Jr., Edward Jones, Lawrence Jones, Raymond Jones and Douglas Jones.
