Rita T. Babineaux
Services for Mrs. Harry Joseph Babineaux, 76, the former Rita Trahan will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the Rev. J. Wilson Matt officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services.
A native of Jefferson Island and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Babineaux died at 11:15 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997, at her residence.
He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where she taught catechism for several years and was a member of the St. Anne's Altar Society.
Mrs. Babineaux is survived by her husband, Harry Joseph Babineaux of New Iberia; one son, Elverse J. Babineaux Sr., and daughter-in-law, Patsy Louviere Babineaux of New Iberia; four daughters, Elaine B. Sonnier, Mrs. Isaac (Earline) Migues, Mrs. Claude (Margaret) Gonsoulin and Mrs. Allen (Gayle) Prados, all of New Iberia; one brother, Nicholas Trahan of New Orleans; two sisters, Anna Belle Champagne and Anna Mae Norris, both of New Iberia; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one stepgrandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Desire' and Ella Lange Trahan; an infant daughter, Wendy Babineaux; her stepfather, Alcide Boutte; two brothers, John Trahan and Joseph Trahan; and five sisters, Enith LeBlanc, Elda Morvant, Edna Comeaux, Marie Trahan and Edith Delahoussaye.
Pallbearers will be Teddy J. Sonnier, Troy A. Sonnier, Cy J. Migues, Danny P. Migues, Elverse J. Babineaux Jr., Dr. Shannon Gonsoulin and Allen L. "Joey" Prados II.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Todd J. Sonnier, Skye Sonnier, Chase Sonnier, Chad Babineaux, Shane Babineaux, Dustin Babineaux, Marcus Migues and Audie Prados.

Norman G. Landry
LYDIA - Services for Norman Glynn Landry, 62, will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church with the Rev. Manny Fernandez officiating. Entombment will be in the Holy Family Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 1-10 p.m. today with a 6 p.m. rosary at David Mortuary, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Tuesday until the time of services.
A resident of New Iberia, Mr. Landry died at 7:03 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997, at his residence.
He was a supervisor for Advance Polymer Systems of Lafayette for seven years. Before that he worked for Morton Chemical at Weeks Island for 34 years. Mr. Landry was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, past member of Iberia Receation Board, an organizer for many years of the Weeks Island Little League and president of the Morton Weeks Federal Credit Union.
Mr. Landry is survived by his wife, Mary Lasseigne Landry of New Iberia; four sons, Gerry Landry of Jeanerette, Brent Landry, Ron Landry and Stephen G. Landry, all of New Iberia; two daughters, Mrs. Albert (Stacie) Landry Burke and Mrs. Michael (Jennifer) Landry Zagar, both of New Iberia; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Whitney and Aline Lancon Landry Sr.; one brother, W.J. Landry Jr.; and his stepmother, Louise Lancon Landry.
Pallbearers will be Gerry Landry, Albert Burke, Brent Landry, Ron Landry, Stephen G. Landry and Michael Zagar.

LOREAUVILLE - Services for Pierre Guilbert Crochet Sr., 63, will begin at 1 p.m. today at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Thevis officiating. Interment will be in the All Saints Cemetery.
Visitation will be at David Mortuary until the time of services today.
A native of Loreauville, Mr. Crochet died at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997, at Lafayette General Hospital.
He was a carpenter.
Mr. Crochet is survived by his wife, Gertrude Chataignier Crochet of Loreauville; three sons, Perry James Crochet, Tommy Jude Crochet and Pierre Guilbert "Peter" Crochet Jr., all of Loreauville; three daughters, Theresa Ann Broussard of Coteau Holmes, Susan Melancon and Gail Ann Robin, both of Loreauville; three brothers, Elie Crochet of New Iberia, Herman Crochet of Franklin and Paul Crochet of Loreauville; five sisters, Anna Mae Breaux of Loreauville, Elizabeth Younger of Baton Rouge, Shirley Migues, Elvidge Rivet and Mary Theriot, all of Franklin; and 18 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guilbert and Elizabeth Dupre Crochet; one son, Steve Albert Crochet Sr.; three brothers, Murphy Crochet, Edward Crochet Sr. and Emmet Crochet Sr.; and one grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Pierre "Peter" Crochet Jr., Perry Crochet, Rocky Steven Crochet, Tommy Crochet, Larry Melancon Jr. and Danny Robin.

Laura A. Girouard
A Mass of Christian Burial for Laura Anne Girouard, 71, the former Laura Anne Berthelot was held today at 10 a.m. at Martin and Castille Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. J. Douglas Courville, pastor of the St. Jules Catholic Church, officiating. Mrs. Jodi M. Bollich, organist sang "On Eagle's Wings," "Here I Am Lord," "I Know That My Redeemer Lives" and "Peace in the Valley." Interment was in the Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
A native of St. Martin Parish and resident of Lafayette for 46 years, Mrs. Girouard died at 5:40 a.m. Saturday, 27, 1997, at the Lady of the Oaks Nursing Home.
She was an avid bowler and a member of the St. Jules Catholic Community.
Mrs. Girouard is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, C.J. Girouard Jr. and Cheryl of Scott, Alvin Girouard and Carolyn and Emile Girouard, all of Lafayette, and Glen Girouard of Duson; three daughters and sons-in-law, Beatrice and Roger Gothreaux, Dianne and Mike McGuirk and Flo and Russell Guidry, all of Lafayette; three brothers, Paul Berthelot and spouse Anna, and David Berthelot and spouse Gladys, all of Lafayette, and Gene Berthelot of Forked Island; one sister, Mrs. Semay Henry and spouse Gilbert of LaPlace; 16 grandchildren, Valerie Bratcher and spouse, Wesley, Van Gothreaux, Vanessa Gotheraux, Nathan Girouard, Crystal Girouard, Kim Girouard, Jeremy Clostio, Chris Clostio, Amy Girouard, Toma Girouard, Krysten Girouard, Don Girouard and his spouse, Melissa, Ryan Simon, Bobby Guidry, Anthony Girouard and Desire Girouard; four great-grandchildren, Emily Bratcher, Grant Bratcher, Nate Girouard and Thorn Girouard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence J. Girouard; her parents, Jean Batiste and Evelyn Albert Berthelot; one brother, A.A. "Toto" Berthelot; and one sister, Levee Broussard.

Ricky P. Faucheaux
LOREAUVILLE - Services for Ricky Paul Faucheaux, 42, will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Thevis officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:30-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at David Mortuary in Loreauville, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Wednesday.
A native of New Iberia, Mr. Faucheaux died at 7:48 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, 1997, at Iberia Medical Center.
He was a Cursillo Brother, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 4676 and employed with Teche Electric Coop.
Mr. Faucheaux is survived by his wife, Melanie "Poulette" Faucheaux of Loreauville; his parents, Roy and Louella Leblanc Faucheaux of New Iberia; two sons, Blair Faucheaux and Brandon Faucheaux, both of Loreauville; one daughter, Bevon Faucheaux of Loreauville; two brothers, Danny Faucheaux and Tommy Faucheaux, both of New Iberia; and two sisters, Robin Faucheaux of Lafayette and Wanda Faucheaux of New Iberia.
Pallbearers will be Shane Faucheaux, Alton Albert, Ricky Albert, Danny Faucheaux, Sean Faucheaux, Tommy Faucheaux and Lenny Vaughn.

KATY, Texas - Services for Horace Peter Dore', 61, will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at the St. Bartholomew Catholic Church with the Rev. Alberto A. Maullon Jr. officiating. Interment will be in the Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery in Houston.
Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday at Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Dore' died Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997, at his residence.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon Dore' of Katy; his children, Michael J. Dore' of Scaly, Texas, Sandra Dore' of Alamo, Tenn., Amy and Michael Carr of Houston, Michelle Dore' and Elizabeth Dore' of Katy; one grandchild, Nicole Dore'; his mother, Aline Dore' of New Iberia; one brother, Ronald J. Whitney J. Segura

A native of Erath and resident of Pineville, Mr. Segura died Monday, Sept. 29, 1997, in Rapides Parish.
He was a truck driver.
Mr. Segura is survived by five brothers, Allen Segura, Etienne Segura, Jimmy Segura, John Segura and Nolan Segura, all of New Iberia; and two sisters, Susie Romero and Cevrlia Alleman, both of New Iberia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Etienne and Julie Touchet Segura Sr.

A lifelong resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Binion died at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997, at Columbia Dauterive Hospital.
She was a member of Genesis Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Binion is survived by her husband, Henry Binion Sr. of New Iberia; one son, Henry Binion Jr. of New Iberia; one daughter, Monique Ann Binion of New Iberia; nine brothers, William Moses, Edward Moses, Albert Moses, Chester Moses, David Moses, Kevin Moses and Thomas Moses, all of New Iberia, Leonard Moses of Lafayette and Leroy Moses of Rockford, Ill.; and three sisters, Betty Moses, Linda Brown and Kelly Moses, all of New Iberia.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Dorothy Knatt Moses Jr.; her paternal grandparents, Willie and Ethel Moses Sr.; and her maternal grandfather, Leonard Knatt.

A native of New Iberia, Mr. Thibodeaux died at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 30, 1997, at his residence.
He was a self-employed truck driver, a veteran of the Army and the Louisiana Army National Guard.
Mr. Thibodeaux is survived by his wife, Marian Etie Thibodeaux of New Iberia; four sons, Robert Thibodeaux, Alvin Thibodeaux, Sidney J. Thibodeaux III and Mark Thibodeaux, all of New Iberia; two brothers, L.J. Thibodeaux and Charlie Thibodeaux, both of New Iberia; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney "Sauce" and Edith Romero Thibodeaux Sr.; one brother, Arthur Thibodeaux Sr.; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Arelia Breaux Thibodeaux; and his maternal grandparents, Aristille and Odelia Romero.

Mary J. Doiron
FRANKLIN - Services for Mary John Doiron were held today at 11 a.m. at Church of Assumption with the Rev. Russo officiating. Interment was in the Franklin Cemetery.
A native of Erath and resident of Franklin for many years, Mrs. Doiron died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997, at Franklin Foundation Hospital.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Our Lady Star of the Sea Society and a pink lady at Franklin Foundation Hospital.
Mrs. Doiron is survived by one son, C.J. Doiron Jr. of Harahan; two daughters, Mary Ann Doiron Phillips of Largo, Fla., and Carolyn Doiron of Berwick; one brother, Sliman John of New Iberia; three sisters, Alice J. Boustany of Lafayette, Louise Bourgeois and Elaine John, both of Erath; a dear friend, Annie Stansbury; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.J. "Connie" Doiron; her parents, Saleem and Latifie Gabriel John; and four sisters, Adele Joseph, Rosie John, Agnes Doumit and Mabel John.

A native of Loreauville and resident of Tampa, Mrs. Ledet died Sunday, Sept. 28, 1997.
She is survived by two sons, Robert Ledet of Cheyenne, Wy., and John Ledet of New Iberia; and three daughters, Carolyn A. Jackson of Petersburg, Va., Linda Allen of New Orleans and Sylvia M. Fontenette of Tampa; three brothers, Joseph Bailey, Peter Bailey and John Bailey; one sister, Nellie Bailey; two daughters-in-law, Pearl Ledet and Geraldine Ledet; 12 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ledet Jr.; two brothers; and three sisters.

Larry C. Gonsoulin
LAFAYETTE - Services for Larry C. Gonsoulin, 78, will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday at Martin and Casitlle Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Schexnayder officiating. Interment will be in the Fountain Memorial Gardens. A military ritual will be conducted by members of the VFW Post No. 9822 of Judice.

A native of Jeanerette and resident of Lafayette, Mr. Gonsoulin died at 1:35 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 1997, at his residence.
He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during World War II as an infantry combat officer in the Battle of the Bulge in the European Theatre of Operations with the Rainbow Division. Mr. Gonsoulin was honorably discharged with the rank of major. He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Community, an active member of S.C.O.R.E., where he volunteered many years of service, an active golfer and a member of the Vieaux Chene Golf Club.
Mr. Gonsoulin is survived by his wife, Gwen Hock Gonsoulin of Lafayette; three stepsons, Gerard Pontiff, Donald Pontiff and Ray Pontiff, all of Franklin; two adopted daughters, Lisa King of New Jersey and Denise Costello of Houston; two stepdaughters, Monica LeBlanc and Michelle Pontiff, both of Lafayette; one sister, Ethelyn Wall of Metairie; and 18 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney Gonsoulin of Jeanerette and Florence Bourgeois of Plaquemine; one brother, S.J. Gonsoulin of Jeanerette; and one sister, Audrey Guzzino of Patterson.

A native of St. Martinville and resident of Orange, former resident of Port Arthur, Texas, and Lawrence, Kan., Mr. Borel died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 1997, at Vencor Hospital in Houston.
He was a retired engineer and technical adviser for Dupont Sabine River Works and a World War II U.S. Army veteran. Mr. Borel was a member and former officer of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Melba Borel of Orange; two sons, Greg Borel of The Woodlands, Texas, and Paul Borel of Coppell, Texas; three daughters, Denise Borel of Plano, Texas, Renee' Coughlin and Michele Karasik, both of Orange; one stepdaughter, Pamela Sumrall of Orange; four brothers, Alton Borel and Jacque Borel, both of Port Arthur, Melvin Borel of Los Catos, Calif., and Vernon Borel of Mobile, Ala.; one sister, Jeanette Linthicum of Port Arthur; and nine grandchildren.

She was a member of Star Pilgrim Baptist Church and a member of Star Pilgrim Usher Board.
Mrs. Joseph is survived by her husband, Leroy Joseph Sr. of New Iberia; her mother, Eunice Lewis of New Iberia; two sons, Leroy Joseph Sr. and Quincy Joseph, both of New Iberia; two daughters, Kim Provost and Shelia Anderson, both of New Iberia; one son-in-law, Keith Provost of New Iberia; one daughter-in-law, Stacy Joseph of New Iberia; two brothers, Jimmy Lewis of New Iberia and James Lewis of Erath; five sisters, Lucy Mae Carter, Eqursia "Sis-Sis" Davis, Ethel Lee Alexander, Jo Ann Sophus and Lilly Mae William, all of New Iberia; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Sanford Lewis; her mother, Louvinia Babineaux; and one son, Karl Patrick Joseph.

A native of Coleman County, Texas, and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Fisher died at 6:05 a.m. Friday, Oct. 3, 1997, in a local hospital.
She is survived by two sons, Chris J. Vedrines and Gregory Tiffin Vedrines, both of New Iberia; and two grandchildren, Allison Ray Vedrines and Hannah Lynn Vedrines, both of New Iberia.
