Services for Edward Francis Sr., 72, will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Edward Catholic Church with the Rev. Sabastian Myladiyl officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at Fletcher Funeral Home, which will reopen Monday from 7 a.m. until the time of services. A recitation of the rosary will take place at 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Francis died at 7:41 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, 1999, at Dauterive Hospital following a brief illness.
Mr. Francis was a member of St. Edward Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Olga B. Francis of New Iberia; one son, Edward Francis Jr. of Bell Flower, Calif.; two stepsons, Leon Broussard of Gilroy, Calif., and Isaias Broussard of New Iberia; one daughter, Evette Soules of Las Vegas, Nev.; three stepdaughters, Yvonne Williams of Oakland, Calif., Patricia Dorsey of Chino Hills, Calif., and Rosalind Broussard of Fontana, Calif.; one brother, Earl Lewis of New Iberia; three sisters, Lucy Butler of New Iberia, Euella Lewis of New Iberia and Helen Polk of New Iberia; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Francis and Lydia Francis Benjamin; and one brother, Ellis Francis.
Pallbearers will be Michael Benjamin, Emmett, Isaias and Christopher Broussard, Joseph Lewis and David Butler Sr.
Honorary pallbearers will be Earl Francis, Danny Soules, Samuel Williams, Roy Dorsey, Edward Butler Sr., Jesse Polk and Harlen Lewis.

Loving husband
Memorial services for Oscar Lee Gray, 55, will be held at 3 p.m. today at Fletcher Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Green officiating.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. today until the time of services.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Gray died Thursday, Sept. 23, 1999, at Iberia Medical Center following a brief illness.
Mr. Gray is survived by his wife, Dianne J. Gray of New Iberia; one daughter, Loretta Goings of New Iberia; one brother, Dallas Gray of Jeanerette; three sisters, Shirley Hogan and Barbara Gray, both of New Iberia, and Gloria Sillmon of Jeanerette; two grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Leola Gray; and one brother, Charles Eddie and Bobby Gray.

Donald C. Upshaw
Loving husband, father
Memorial services for Donald C. Upshaw, 62, will be held at Peltiers Catering Saturday, Oct. 9 from 3-7 p.m.
A native of Ringgold and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Upshaw died at 10:45 a.m. Friday, Oct. 1, 1999, in Houston after a brief struggle with leukemia.
Mr. Upshaw was a wonderful husband and father and will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Virginia Khoury Upshaw of New Iberia; three daughters, Vickie Bufkin and her husband, Eric, of Houston, Lee Upshaw and her dear friend, Sherry Copell, both of Lafayette, and Pam Nelson and her husband, Patrick, both of Lafayette; four grandchildren, Whitney, Paige, Riley and expected Austin; two brothers, Billy Upshaw of Benton and Jerry Upshaw of Clinton, Miss.; and several nieces and nephews.

Walter Vernon
Loving father, husband
JEANERETTE - Services for Walter "Teddy" Vernon, 51, will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at david Funeral Home Chapel with Deacon Theo Landry officiating. Interment will be in Loisel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. till 10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at the funeral home, which will reopen Monday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
A native of Dumas, Ariz., and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Vernon died at 6:02 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, 1999, at Iberia Medical Center.
Mr. Vernon was a welder.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Vernon of New Iberia; his mother, Ina Morgan Vernon of Jeanerette; three sons, Jory Vernon of Jeanerette and Terry and Travis Vernon, both of Gonzales; one daughter, Marci Vernon of Jeanerette; five sisters, Margaret Brown of Jeanerette, Mary Courville of Lafayette, Judy Leger of New Iberia, Debbie O'Donnell of Jeanerette, and Patsy Sandoz of New Iberia; one brother, Mike Vernon of Vidalia; and four grandchildren.
Mr. Sandoz was preceded in death by his father, Walter T. Vernon.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Brown, Coy Courville, Ted Fontenot, Greg and Steven Sandoz and Dean Verret.

Mrs. Robert Broussard
Loving mother, grandmother
Services for Mrs. Robert Broussard, 92, the former Rose Marie Blanchard, will begin at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the Rev. Mike Guidry officiating. Entombment will be in Holy Family Mausoleum.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen Monday from 8 a.m. until the time of service.
A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Broussard died at 11:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 1, 1999, at a local nursing home.
Mrs. Broussard was employed with International Salt Co. (now AKZO) for 40 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, the St. Ann Altar Society and the KC Council Auxiliary No. 3425 in New Iberia.
She is survived by her son, Carol Louis Broussard of Houston; two daughters, Mrs. Lonest (Olivia) Comeaux and Mrs. Wiltz (Lula Belle) Toups, both of New Iberia; two sisters, Jeanne O'Flarity and Ruby Hebert, both of New Iberia; 13 grandchilren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Broussard was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Broussard; her parents, Louis and Sedonia Blanchard; three brothers, Louis, Otto and Laurent Blanchard; three sisters, Lucy Savoy, Martha Domingue and Margaret Peltier; one son-in-law, Wiltz Toups; and one daughter-in-law, Ann Berry Broussard.
Pallbearers will be Wiltz Toups Jr., Wayne, Michael and Glen Comeaux, Cynthia Dore and Eric Metz.
Honorary pallbearer will be Lonest Comeaux.

Services of Melissa A. "Missy" Wills, 22, will begin at 7 p.m. today at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. David Green officiating. Interment will be Monday in Zion Traveler Cemetery after a 10 a.m. dismissal from the funeral home.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. Sunday until the time of services at the funeral home, which will reopen Monday from 7:30 a.m. until dismissal.
A lifelong resident of New Iberia, Ms. Wills died at 7:26 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1999, at University Medical Center in New Orleans following a brief illness.
Ms. Wills is survived by her fiance, Elvis Jimmerison of New Iberia; her parents, Albert wills and Joyce Gweendlyn Smith, both of New Iberia; her step-father, Walter Smith of New Iberia; two sons, Dequan and Dequanta Wills, both of New Iberia; one daughter, Dequashia Wills of New Iberia; five brothers, Albert Wills Provost Jr. of Jeanerette, and Steven and Chad Bell, Nelson Fuselier and Aaron Wills, all of New Iberia; two step-brothers, Michael Smith of New Iberia and Blair Smith of Jeanerette; five sisters, Loretta Evans, Lorenza Fuselier, Vanessa Fuselier, Alfreida Prevost and Debra Wills, all of New Iberia; two step-sisters, Cindy and Shelia Smith, both of New Iberia; and a host of neices, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Alberta Prevost.

Mary M. Rolston
Loving mother, grandmother 
Services will be conducted for Mrs. John R. "Jack" Rolston, the former Mary Virginia Murray "Jen" at noon p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 5, 1999, at the Episcopal Church of the Epiphany with the Rev. Ed Dohoney officiating. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services and held at the church.
Known affectionately as "Meemaw" by her family, Mrs. Rolston died Oct. 2, 1999, of ovarian cancer at her daughter's home in Gonzales. She was born Nov. 8, 1929, in New Iberia and was a resident of Baton Rouge. She was a retired public school educator. 
Mrs. Rolston was preceded in death by her husband, John R. "Jack" Rolston, 38 years ago; her father, Theodric Fitzhugh Murray; her in-laws, W.A. Rolston Sr. and Kathleen H. Rolston; and her aunts, Theda Ewing Murray and Mary Etta Murray. 
She is survived by her mother, Viola H. Murray of New Iberia; two daughters, Kathleen R. Robbins and her husband, Robert P. Robbins, of Houston, Texas, and Mary Virginia "Ginger" Weber and her husband, Douglas D. Weber, of Gonzales; seven grandchildren, Bobbie B. "Ben" Crump III and Kelly Crump of Baton Rouge, John Rolston Crump and Cheree O. Crump of New Orleans, Claire Ellen Hodgeson of New Orleans, Robert P. Robbins III of Houston, John D. Weber of Baton Rouge, Claire F. Weber of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Benjamin D. Weber of Gonzales.
Mrs. Rolston was a member of the Woman's Hospital Auxiliary, a volunteer at the Gillis W. Long Hansen's Disease Center in Carville, a charter member of both St. Luke's and St. Margaret's Episcopal churches in Baton Rouge and she served on the first Vestry of both. 
Pallbearers will be her grandsons. 
Honorary pallbearers will be Frank Russell Courts, Jacob Landry and Jack Broussard.

ST. MARTINVILLE - Services for Mrs. Valsin J. Courville, the former Mae Fournet, will begin at 1 p.m. Tuesday at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert Courville officiating and the Rev. Austin Leger con-celebrating the mass. Interment will be in Fournet Cemetery. 
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Tuesday at Evangeline Funeral Home. 
Mrs. Courville died at 3:50 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at Ochsner's Foundation Hospital.
She is survived by one sister, Therese Green; and her daughter-in-law, Fay Courville.
Mrs. Courville was preceded in death by her husband, Valsin J. Courville; two sons, Carlyle J. and Jennings Louis Courville; her parents, Louis Michael Fournet and Mary Marcelit Gauthier; three sisters, Genieve Carmichael, Vilma Pittman and Elise Cates; five brothers, Chief Justice John Fournet, and Patrick, Hobson, Jennings and Michael Fournet; and two grandchildren, Val John and Vic John Courville.

Visitation will be until the time of services today with a rosary at noon at David Funeral Home. 
A native of Adeline and a resident of Jeanerette, Mrs. Guillot died at 12:05 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 3, 1999, at Iberia Medical Center. 
Mrs. Guillot was a housewife and a loving mother and grandmother. 
She is survived by one son, Ronald "Gill" Guillot Sr. of Jeanerette; one sister, Mrs. Elias (Eunice) Barrilleau of Jeanerette; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. 
Mrs. Guillot was preceded in death by her husband, Victor J. Guillot; her parents, Emile and Daisy Pontiff Kern; one daughter, Mrs. Ulysse (Shirley) Hebert; two brothers, Charles and Sydney Kern; and three sisters, Mrs. Clinton (Lillian) Faulk, Mrs. Fredrick (Julie) Kelly; and Mrs. Noe (Aline) Myers. 
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey and Ronnie Guillotte; Glenn and Troy Hebert, Brady Sharp and Dwight Thibodeaux.

Former fire chief, councilman 
JEANERETTE - Services for Robert Grettner, 71, will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with the Rev. Ed Degeyter officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. 
Visitation will be from 2:30-8 p.m. today with a 6 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home, which will reopen Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services. 
A native of Colorado and a resident of Jeanerette, Mr. Grettner died at 3:05 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, at Iberia Medical Center. 
Mr. Grettner was a former Jeanerette fire chief, a self-employed mechanic machinist and a former Jeanerette Lions Club member. He also served on the Jeanerette City Council for more than 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Delaune Grettner of Jeanerette; his son, Donovan Grettner of Lafayette; his brother, Art Grettner of California; his grandson, John Grettner of Lafayette; and two granddaughters, Katie and Maggie Grettner, both of Lafayette. 
Mr. Grettner was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Sylvia Cousland Grettner. 
Pallbearers will be Bret Allain, Cecil Bergeron, Darrell Choate, John Grettner, Brian Guillotte and Arthur Verret. 
Honorary pallbearers will be Norman Brignac and Patrick Napier.

Services for Allen "Lulu" A. LeBlanc, 77, will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Marcellus Catholic Church with the Rev. Conley Bertrand officiating. Interment will be in Broussard Cemetery with military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1982 of New Iberia. 
Visitation will be until 10 p.m. today with a 7:30 p.m. rosary at David Funeral Home, which will reopen Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services. 
A native of Delcambre and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. LeBlanc died at 9:18 a.m. Monday, Oct. 4, 1999, at Consolata Nursing Home. 
Mr. LeBlanc was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a boat skipper. 
He is survived by his wife, Lydia Viator LeBlanc of New Iberia; his son, Penley A. LeBlanc Sr. of New Iberia; his daughter, Patricia LeBlanc Oubre of New Iberia; two brothers, Jimmy LeBlanc of New Iberia, and Noddy Paul LeBlanc of Beaumont, Texas; his son-in-law, Harvey J. Oubre of New Iberia; and his daughter-in-law, Cynthia R. LeBlanc of New Iberia. 
Mr. LeBlanc was preceded in death by his parents, Edon Adam and Edith Labit LeBlanc; his daughter, Patsy LeBlanc Viator; his brother, Snooky LeBlanc; and two sisters, Clara Jane LeBlanc and Elvonne LeBlanc Trahan. 
Pallbearers will be Jake Derise, David Etie, Brock and P.J. LeBlanc, Jory Neuville and Seth Viator.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gayle Falgout, Gilman Landry, Jimmy and Noddy LeBlanc, and Ricky and Ryan Viator.
