Services for Eleria "Lyt" King, 46, the former Eleria Butler will begin at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at St. Edwards Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas James officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4-10 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. rosary at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home, which will reopen at 7:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of services.
A native and resident of Olivier, Mrs. King died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at her residence following a brief illness.
Mrs. King was a former teacher for St. Edwards Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband, Martin King of Olivier; her mother, Mrs. Dorothy Vital Butler of Olivier; a son, Reeman Bradley Jr of Gainseville, Fla.; a daughter, Ashley Caliste of Olivier; two brothers, James Rudolph Butler Jr of Olivier and Aristeal "Spooknic" Butler of New Iberia; two sisters, Cynthia Butler Delahoussaye of New Iberia and Keisha Butler of Olivier.
Mrs. King was preceded in death by her father, James Rudolph Butler Sr.; and a brother, Darrel Butler.
Pallbearers will be Sanders Butler III, Terry Delehoussaye, Ricky Polite, Shawn Stokes, Chris Carter and Ted Williams.

Services for Mrs. Eddie Paul Bourgeois, 93, the former Alice Darby will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter's Catholic Church with the Rev. Ted Broussard officiating. Interment will be in the St. Peter's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:30-10 p.m. Friday with a 7 p.m. rosary at Evangeline Funeral Home, which will reopen at 8 a.m. Saturday until the time of services.
A native of Iberia Parish and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Bourgeois died at 4 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, at a New Iberia nursing home.
Mrs. Bourgeois is survived by three daughters, Rita Mae B. Dorsey and her husband Joe Dorsey Jr. and Geraldine B. Decoux and her husband Geoffrey Decoux, all of New Iberia, and Rudy B. Scelfo and her husband John Scelfo, both of Franklin; three brothers, Francis Darby, Jimmy Darby and St. Mark Darby Jr., all of New Iberia; five sisters, Annie Lee D. Bienemann, Helen D. Courrege, Lizzie D. Leleux and Louise D. Morrison, all of New Iberia, and Mildred D. Myers of Opelousas; 19 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and five great-greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie Paul Bourgeois; her parents, St. Mark and Carrie Stevens Darby; two brothers, Monroe and Clarence Darby; two sisters, Nellie Mouret and Jessie Cole; and a grandchild, David Scelfo.

Services for Maudry Lewis Nicholas, 82, the former Maudry Lewis will begin at 8 p.m. Friday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. L. Watson officiating. Interment will be in the St. Matthew Cemetery.
A native of Rynella and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Nicholas died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, in Huntsville, Ala.
Mrs. Nicholas is survived by four sons, William "Samson" Nicholas, Ronald Nicholas and James Nicholas, all of New Iberia, and Larry Nicholas of Hunstville, Ala.; four daughters, Willa Mae Nicholas, Julia Nicholas Vitatoe and Laura Nicholas Francois, all of New Iberia, and Barbara Nicholas Johnson of Milton, Fla.; three brtothers, Wilton Broussard and John Broussard, both of New Iberia, and Joseph Lewis of New York; two sisters, Eula Gaddison and Lena James of New Iberia; two daughters-in-law; one son-in-law; four sisters-in-law ; 30 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters; a great grandchild; two sisters; and a grandchild.

Lucy Oliver
EGAN - Services for Lucy Quebodeaux Oliver, 89, were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Michael Catholic Church with the Rev. Glenn Jarman officiating. Interment was in the Sensat Cemetery. 
A native and resident of Egan, Mrs. Oliver died at 7:20 a.m. Monday, Jan. 4,1999, at Jennings American Legion Hospital.
Mrs. Oliver along with her husband, Mr. Theo, were in the restaurant business. The business was called Oliver Restaurant in Egan. Mrs.Oliver later went to work for Acadia Parish School Board as a lunch room supervisor for 15 years. Upon retiring Mrs. Oliver went to work with the Council on Aging. 
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Dayton Ray and Yvonne Oliver , both of New Iberia; three daughters, Mrs. Wallace (Gloria) Pousson and Mrs. Gaston (Sue) Istre both of Egan and Mrs. Barbara Martin of Crowley; 17 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and five great-greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Theo Oliver Sr., her parents, Frank and Mary Quebodeaux, a son Theo Oliver Jr., and three sons-in-law, Wallace Pousson, Gerald Martin and Irby (Buddy) Gordon Jr.

A native of Morse and resident of Gueydan, Mrs. Reese died at 4:48 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999, at Iberia Medical Center
Mrs. Reese was a homemaker.
She is survived by four sons, Paul C. Reese of Gueydan, Joseph Marion Reese of Crowley, Chester James Reese of Rayne and Winifred John Reese of Biloxi, Miss.; a daughter, Mrs. Terry (Martha) Frederick of Jeanerette; a brother, Joseph Chiasson of Morse; a sister, Ament Lege of Gueydan; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester P. Reese.

Russel Thibodeaux
LYDIA - Services for Russel Anthony Thibodeaux, 69, will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bobby Cormier officiating. Entombment will be in the Beau Pre Mausoleum in Jeanerette.

A native of Weeks Island and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Thibodeaux died at 7:56 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at Iberia Medical Center.
Mr. Thibodeaux was a veteran of the Army, member of VFW Post 1982 in New Iberia. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 365. He was a member of Pipefitters Union 798. VFW Post 1982 will conduct military graveside rites.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Savoy Thibodeaux of Lydia; a daughter, Rose Thibodeaux Derise of Lydia; three sons, Randy Thibodeaux, Richard Thibodeaux and Russel "Rusty" Thibodeaux Jr., all of Lydia; a son-in-law, Rocky Derise of Lydia; three daughters-in-law; Anne Morris Thibodeaux, Donna Frank Thibodeaux, and Lorie Kennedy Thibodeaux , all of Lydia; a sister, Jeanette Thibodeaux Prudhomme of New Iberia; three brothers, Orie Thibodeaux, Roland Thibodeaux, and Ernest Thibodeaux, all of Lydia; six grandchildren; Katherine Broussard , Ross Derise; Stefani Derise, Brett Thibodeaux, Sammy Thibodeaux, Travis Thibodeaux, all of Lydia; and a great-grandchild, Kiersten Broussard of Lydia.

A native of Iberia Parish, and a resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Pellerin died at 1:45 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999, at Iberia Medical Center.
Mrs. Pellerin was a nusery assistant at Highland Baptist Church and an active memeber of the Council on Aging.
She is survived by a son, Darryl W. A native of St. Cynsur, France, and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Monerrat died at 6:15 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, 1999, at Consolata Nursing Home.
Mr. Monterrat was retired from S&W Machine Shop after 20 years.
Memorials may be made to St. Peters Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Rienne Fris Monterrat of New Iberia; a sister-in-law, Renee' Fris Oakes of New Iberia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Pierre and Berthe Monterrat; and a brother, Louie Monterrat.

A native of New Iberia, and a resident of Lafayette, Mrs. Gastineau died at 1:05 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at Ochsner Foundation Hospital.
Mrs. Gastineau was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School of New Iberia. She was a charter member of the Houma Chapter,and a former member of the Lafayettte chapter of the Sweet Adeline's.
She is survived by a son, Lucien O. and his wife Marilyn Perret Gastineau, both of Lafayette; two grandchildren, Cherie P. Gastineau of Misawa, Japan, and Monique F. Gastineau of Lafayette; two brothers, Lawson P. Babineaux and Louis L. Babineaux , both of New Iberia; five sisters, Angelle B. Freemin, Mrs. Eugene (Elsie) Broussard Sr., Verna B. Patout, Joyce B. Indest, and Mrs. Jerry (Harriet) Shea Sr., all of New Iberia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Barron S. Gastineau; her parents, Alcee L and Aline Theriot Babineaux; a brother, Andrew J. Babineaux; and a sister, Vivian B. Myers.

A native of Lafayette, a former resident of New Iberia and a resident of Deming, N.M., Mrs. Suire died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at Mimeres Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Suire was a former CCD teacher and choir member at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. She was a volunter for senior citizens in Deming, N.M. She was a retired secretary from Romero's Music Store.
She is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Carla Romero of Carencro, Gayle and Maurice Fontenot, Sandra and Bert Correge, Connie and Kevin Migues, all of New Iberia; five sons and daughters-in-law, Gerald and Patricia Romero, Louis "Buddy" and Deanna Romero, Greg and Rowena Romero, Jack and Debbie Romero and Benny and Jeanne Romero, all of New Iberia; three brothers, Homer Duplantis Jr of Houston, John Emery Duplantis of New Iberia, and Allen Duplantis of Youngsville; two sisters, Jenny Lasseigne of Catahoula and Judy Webb of Houston; 27 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Suire; her parents, Homer and Henrietta Mouton Duplantis; and her first husband, Louis "Bee" Romero Jr.

Benethia V. Metz
Services for Benethia V. Metz, 58, will begin at 7:30 p.m. today at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Sugar Land, Texas. Interment will be at the Nazarene Baptist Cemetery in Verdunville. 
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. today unti the time of service at St. Theresa Catholic Church. Dismissal services will be held from 2-3 p.m. at Otis FuneralHome in Franklin.
A native of Franklin and a resident of Sugar Land, Texas, Mrs. Metz died Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, following an apparent heart attack at the Fondren Tennis Club in Houston.
Mrs. Metz was born on Aug. 26, 1940, in Franklin to the late Bennie and Sarah Hall. She graduated from Southern University in Baton Rouge. She began her career as an English teacher at Park Avenue High School in Franklin. Mrs. Metz also taught at T.H. Rogers Junior High School in Houston during the early 1970s.
She and her family moved from Houston and lived in several places, including Dallas, Louisville, Ky., and Chappaqua, N.Y., before returing to Texas.
Everywhere she lived Mrs. Metz became heavily involved in community and nonprofit organizations. She believed in helping disadvantaged students and students facing learning challenges. She was a member of St. Theresa Church in Sugar Land, Texas, where she was also a continuing Catholic education instructor.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy Metz of Sugar Land, Texas; two sons, Theron Metz of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Lloyd Metz, and his fiancee'Cassandra Williams, both of Brooklyn, N.Y.; three sisters, Sarah Lee Stewart of Houston, Brenda Bowser of Highland, Calif., and Jean Haynes of Franklin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Emile Hall of Franklin, George Bowser of Highland, Calif., Homer Stewart of Houston, John and Lucille Peoples, both of Severn, Md., Lorris Metz-Germany of Plaquemine, Laurel Metz Mc Crary of Lancanster, Calif., Lula Hobbs of SanFrancisco, Dr .Leon and Allison Metz , both of San Francisco, Loinel and Velda Metz of Jeanerette; a goddaughter, Vanessa DeJean of Houston; her loving mother-in-law, Pearly Metz of Jeanerette; and several brothers and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews and scores of friends.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Thomas died at 5:57 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at Dauterive Hospital following a brief illness.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by three sons, Henry Thomas, Johnny Thomas, and Hilbert Mitchell, all of New Iberia; four daughters, Helen Anthony, Joyce Andrew, Cora Mae Moore and Mary Ann Mitchell, all of New Iberia; two stepdaughters, Mary Ruth Rogers and Elouise Eldridge, both of Opelousas; a sister, Martha Mitchell of New Iberia; 27 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Thomas; her parents, Mary Mitchell and Usan Mitchell; a son, Roy Thomas; a sister, Cecil Lewis; and three brothers, Ernest, Joseph and Calvin Mitchell.

A native of Maurice and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Bourque died at 12:40 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, at IHS of Heritage North Nursing Home in New Iberia.
Mrs. Bourque is survived by three sons, Curley Bourque of Bridge City, Texas, and John Bourque and Rodney Bourque, both of New Iberia; one daughter, Brenda Meaux of Abbeville; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Bourque; her father, Joseph Sonnier; her mother, Ozea Gaspard Sonnier; two brothers, Adrien Sonnier and Ovey Sonnier; one half-brother, Eliar Landry; and two sisters, Lucia Bourque and Marie Dore.

A native of Potash and resident of Baldwin, Mr. Treadway died at 10:45 a.m. Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, at his residence in Baldwin.
Mr. Treadway is survived by his wife, Connie Pineda Treadway of Baldwin; one son, Chad Treadway of New Iberia; two daughters, Tina Gaddy of Jeanerette and Cori Levet of Centerville; two brothers, Carlie Treadway Jr. of Harvey and Ray Treadway of Baldwin; one sister, Judy Guyote of Jeanerette; 10 grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carlie Treadway Sr.; and his mother, Alzire Guillotte Treadway.
The family prefers donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Services are pending for Grace Londo, 63, of New Iberia, who died at 11:25 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, at Consolato Nursing Home following a brief illness.

Gill Boudreaux
ST. MARTINVILLE - Services for Gill Joseph Boudreaux, 77, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Martin de Tours Catholic Church with the Rev. Austin Leger officiating. Interment will be in St. Michael's Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:30 to 10 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary today at Evangeline Funeral Home of St. Martinville, which will reopen Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
A resident of St. Martinville, Mr. Boudreaux died at 2 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 12, 1999, at a New Iberia hospital.
