Yates, all of Henderson; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Rudy Rowland Funeral Home. The Revs. Ray Werline and J.T. Stone will officiate. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.

Virgil Lee Wilson, 60, Henderson, died at 3:11 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2000, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.

He was retired from Littrell Gas Station.

He was preceded in death by a son, Curtis Wilson.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine; four daughters, Judy Steinmetz and Belinda Powell, both of Henderson, Debbie Wilson of Sebree and Kathy Aud of Atlanta; three stepdaughters, Jean Huffines and Sue Floyd, both of Henderson, and Malinda Davis of Sebree; three sons, Steve Wilson and Mike Wilson, both of Henderson, and David Wilson of Sebree; five stepsons, Richard Lingerfelt, Robert Lingerfelt, Samuel Lingerfelt and Ernest Lingerfelt, all of Henderson, and Thomas Lingerfelt of Bowling Green; two sisters, Linda Nickles and Hazel Martin, both of Sebree; three brothers, Joe Wilson of Sebree, John Wilson of Harold, Ind., and Jack Wilson of Henderson; 35 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Rev. Lloyd Littrell will officiate. Burial will be in Corydon Cemetery in Corydon.

Paul Thomas Powell, 44, Henderson, died at 5:55 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2000, at Methodist Hospital.

He was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include two daughters, Nakia Todd and Betsy Powell, both of Henderson; two sons, Derek Powell of Henderson and Paul E. Powell of Evansville; his mother, Mary Catherine Powell of Henderson; four sisters, Carolyn House, Linda Floyd, Jane Jeffries and Bonnie Ligon, all of Henderson; seven brothers, Norman Powell, David Powell, Glenn Powell and Phillip Powell, all of Henderson, Mike Powell of Anthoston, Robert Powell of Corydon and Ronnie Powell of Locksburg, Ark.; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church. The Revs. Paul Pike Powell and Andy Ausenbaugh will officiate. Burial will be in St. Louis Cemetery.

DIXON -- Raymond W. Cavanah, 74, died at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 30, 2000, at his home here.

He was a farmer.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diana Lee Cavanah.

Survivors include one daughter, Helen E. O'Neil of Mount Vernon, Ind.; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Townsend Funeral Home in Dixon. The Rev. Morris Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson.

PROVIDENCE -- Mary Wanda Walker, 67, Providence, died at 5:40 a.m. Thursday, June 1, 2000, at Colonial Terrace nursing home in Sebree.

She was a member of Primitive Baptist Church in Providence.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe E.

Survivors include one son, James Yates of Providence; two stepdaughters, Dianne Niupulusu and Geraldine Stone, both of Providence; one stepson, Joe David Walker of Providence; three sisters, Brenda Waide of Evansville, Carolyn Sue Waide of Houston and Janet Doam of Los Angeles; one brother, Wayne Waide of Evansville; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Townsend-Jones Funeral Home in Providence. The Bros. Barry Cullen and John Mosley will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date.

He worked as a truck driver and was a member of Teamsters Local 89.

Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann "Cripps" Collard; three daughters, Janice Goatley, Judy Sams and Jane Rideout; three sisters, Lula Tate, Gladys Walther and Mary Ann Counterman; one brother, Frank Collard Jr.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Rogers Funeral Home in Clarkson, Ky.

Burial will be in Meeting Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Hardin County.

He attended Bethel Temple in Evansville and was employed by Laborers Union Local 516.

Survivors include his mother, Pat Cambron of Newburgh; his father, Ron Welden of Indiana; and two brothers, Darrel Welden of Dillon, S.C., and John Cambron of Morganfield.

Shirley May Lloyd Watson

Shirley May Lloyd Watson, 62, Henderson, died at 4:02 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2000, at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville after a long illness with leukemia.

She was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and was a staffing secretary at St. Mary's Medical Center.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Harold; one daughter, Sherilyn L. Garrard of Evansville, one son, Harold George Watson Jr. of Bridgeton, Mo.; one stepdaughter, Bonita A. Coghill of Henderson; two sisters, Patricia A. Albanese and Mary Frances DeRosa, both of Springfield, Ill.; two brothers, Harvey Byron Lloyd Jr. and William J. Lloyd, both of Springfield; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Martha Ellen Hayes Denton
Martha Ellen Hayes Denton, 54, Henderson, died at 5:45 a.m. Friday, June 2, 2000, at her home.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Although she began her 27-year teaching career at Jefferson Elementary School, the majority of her service was at Bend Gate Elementary School, where she retired in 1998 after 20 years.

She was one of the first teachers to serve on the Bend Gate Site Based Decision-Making Council. She was selected by the Kentucky Department of Education to appear in an instructional video regarding the functions of SBDM councils. She also served as a resource mentor for student teachers and was a member of the Kentucky Education Association.

Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Barry; one sister, Linda McCool of Evansville; and one nephew.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Rudy-Rowland Funeral Home. The Rev. Rebecca Curry will officiate. Entombment will be in Fairmont Mausoleum.

Elmer Blakeman, 89, Henderson, died at 9:40 a.m. Friday, June 2, 2000, at Methodist Hospital.

He was a farmer and owned and operated Blakeman Seed Farm.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary; one daughter, Gail Hahn of Henderson; one son, Eric Blakeman of Henderson; one sister, Christine Hall of LaGrange, Ky.; one brother, W.C. Blakeman of Garrard County, Ky.; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; nieces and nephews.

She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and was a Methodist Hospital Auxiliary volunteer.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William C. Wilson Jr., who died in 1996.

Survivors include four sons, W. Cassidy Wilson III and S. Kurtis Wilson, both of Henderson, C. Graeme Wilson of St. Charles, Mo., and Gregory C. Wilson of Fairfax Station, Va.; one brother, Duncan Clore of Hopkinsville; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Appel Chovanec.

She was a member of First Baptist Church.

She was a homemaker and member of Grace Bible Church in Sebring.

Survivors include one stepdaughter, Elizabeth Ann Miller of Fort Walton Beach, Fla.; one son, Dr. Howard S. Jones Jr. of Sebring; one stepson, Frank W. He was a 30-year U.S. Navy veteran, having served in World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Evelene; four daughters, Kelly Purgeason of Henderson, Teri Bartlet and Diane Stephens, both of Paducah, and Mary Wilson of Irving, Texas; seven sons, Thomas Waggener of Henderson, Scott Waggener of Corydon, Jerry Waggener of Morganfield, William J. She was a longtime member of Uniontown Baptist Church and a member of the WMU at church.

Survivors include her husband, Vernon; three daughters, Pat Acker, Sebrenia Toney and Tammy Turner, all of Uniontown; four sons, Dennis Clevidence, Eddie Clevidence, Gregg Clevidence and Joey Clevidence, all of Uniontown; three sisters, Clara Bell Brown and Edna Kennif, both of Marion, and Elaine Brasher of Indiana; two brothers, Aubrey Guess Jr. and Raymond Guess, both of Marion; 17 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

She was a member of Eastern Star Bridgeport Chapter No. 513 of Bridgeport, Ind. She was a member of Fairview Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Charles; one son, Steven Russell of Tennessee; one sister, Wanda Edens of Dixon; one brother, William Bill Akins of Dixon; five grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Joseph Mackey, who died January 2, 1992.
