Stanley Anthony Chrzanowski, 85, Roeland Park, KS, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2000, at Villa St. Francis. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, at St. Agnes Catholic Church at 53rd and Mission Road; burial will be in Resurrection Ce-metery, Lenexa, KS. Friends may call from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, at Amos Family Chapel of Shawnee, where the Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to Villa St. Francis Catholic Nursing Home in Olathe, where they were a great comfort to Stan and his family in his final days.  Stan was a graduate of Ward High School and was a long time member of St. Agnes Catholic Church. He was the owner and operator of Stan's Engraving Studio, until retiring in 1980. David B. Hood, 39, a resident of Houston,TX (formerly of Kansas City), passed away August 10, 2000, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam era, having served from November 1961 to November1967, as Radarman Second Class. He married Rose Ellen Kemp, on December30, 1978. Michael was a professional land surveyor, registered in Missouri, Kansas, Colorado, Iowa, and Illinois. He was a member of the Missouri Association of Registered Land Surveyors,the Kansas City Metro Surveyors Association, the Kansas Society of Land Surveyors, Professional Surveyors of the 6th P.M., the American Congress on Surveyingand Mapping, and the Kansas City Area Historic Trails Association. He had been named KCMSA Land Surveyor of the Year, in 1997. He was employed with McLaughlin Mueller, Inc. Michael was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and his family always came first. He loved land surveying and strove to promote professionalism in his career. He was an avid reader, loved working crossword puzzles, and enjoyed working on large wood projects at home. He always had a dream for the future, which kept a sparkle in his eyes and a positive approach to life. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He took a piece of us with him, but a larger part of him will live on in our hearts forever. His survivors include his wife of 22 years, Rose McLaughlin, of the home; four sons, Eloy McLaughlin and wife, Melissa, Morrison, CO, Michael, Joseph, and John McLaughlin, of the home; one granddaughter,Cheyanne Marie McLaughlin, Morrison, CO; his mother, Peg McLaughlin,Canon City, CO; father, Joseph McLaughlin, Bristow, OK; two brothers, Steve McLaughlin and wife, Sue, Springfield,MO and Harvey McLaughlin and wife, Violet, Moore, OK; four sisters, Sharon Dickman and husband, Ralph, Canon City, CO, Holly Finley and husband,Clair, Ft. On October 24, 1934, she married Joseph A. Spruytte. She was a 4-H and community leader and a member of the PTA. She served as city clerk for the Village of Randolph, for many years. Mrs. Spruytte was a member of St. Raphael Parish and previously a member of St. James Parish, Liberty. She was preceded in death by her husband,in 1992 and a granddaughter, Janice Duffey, in 1975. He graduatedfrom Central College and held a master's degree in education from the University of Missouri at Columbia. During his career, Bud worked as a teacher, principal, spent two years with the Missouri Department of Education, and retired from the U.S. Department of Educationin 1998 with over 30 years of service. He served in the Army during Korea, and was a member of the VFW Post #4072. Bud is survived by his wife Phu Tumy of the home; daughters, Tammy Tumy of Chicago, IL, Qui Stewart, Jennifer Bieritz and Dara McGann, all of Frederick, MD; sons, James Bradford Tumy Jr. of Columbia, MD, and Van Le of Independence, MO, sister-in-law, Shirley Tumy of Springfield, MO, and four grandchildren.
