Gertrude Spehn

Gertrude Spehn, 99, of Community Care Center, Wabash, IN, died Saturday, July 6, 1996 at Community Care Center. She was born March 1, 1897 at Sheboygan, WI to John and Annetta (Kruger) Beekman. She married Rudolph Spehn April 1920, and he died January 27, 1978.

A son, Gerald Spehn of Denver, CO survives. Four brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.

She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church of North Manchester, a member of Women of the Moose, American Legion and VFW Auxiliaries, and Eagles Lodge, all of North Manchester.

Graveside service was held Tuesday, July 9, 1996 at Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester with the Rev. Robert Schmeiser officiating. Arrangements were by DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary.

William T. Bramlett

William T. Bramlett, 77, of Floyds Knobs, IN, passed away at 8:05 p.m. Monday, July 8, 1996 at Floyd Memorial Hospital, New Albany, IN.

He was a native of Indianapolis, IN and formerly owned and operated W. T. Bramlett Inc. He was a member of Depauw Memorial United Methodist Church, the New Albany Elks Lodge #270 and Rotary Club of New Albany. He was also a member of Gideons, International, the Wabash, Indiana Masonic Lodge and the Kosair Shrine of Louisville, KY, and the American Legion at Wabash.

He is survived by his wife Dorothy (Knight) Bramlett, a sister, Nancy Myrick of Chiefland, FL and two grandchildren.

Friends may call at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Market Street Funeral Home Thursday from 1 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Seabrook Dieckmann & Naville Market Street Chapel. Interment will be in Abundant Life Memorial Gardens, New Albany, IN. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Gideons.

Kent D. Quinn

Kent D. Quinn, 53, of 311 W SR 13, No. Manchester, died July 4, 1996 at Wabash County Hospital, Wabash, IN. He was born Dec. 16, 1942 at Columbia City, IN to Elbert and Ruth (Mann) Quinn, both deceased. He married Karen Sexton Jan. 18, 1969 and she survives.

He was employed at Gripco Co., South Whitley for 25 years, and he owned and operated Pizza Jack's from 1982-1990. He was a graduate of Columbia City High School.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Season Quinn, at home; and an aunt, Lois Herron of Columbia City.

Funeral service was held Saturday afternoon, July 6, 1996 at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, and burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Lawrence Frieden

Lawrence (Pete) Frieden, 80, of rural North Manchester, died Saturday, Aug. 3, 1996 at Wabash Skilled Care Center, Wabash, IN. He was born at Lagro, IN to John H. and Kathryn (Kramer) Frieden, both deceased.

He married Jean Smith Nov. 27, 1959 and was engaged in farming. He was a member of the Servia United Church of Christ, Servia; the Board of Directors Farm Credit Services for 33 years, formerly Production Credit Association of Peru; the Moose Lodge of Rochester, and Eagles Lodge of Logansport.

He is survived by his wife, a daughter Paula Jean Wertenberger of Union, MI, a sister Grace Bouse of Silver Lake, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by seven brothers.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, Aug. 6th at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary with the Rev. Golda McClelland officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery.

Preferred memorials are to Wabash County Hospital ICCU Unit or Wabash County Heart Association.
