Wilma J. Creager
Wilma Johnette Creager, 66, a resident of Timbercrest Retirement Community, North Manchester, IN, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. She was born March 29, 1931 in Fulton County, Indiana to John F. and Dorothy P. (Parker) Kuhn. She married Donald E. Creager Feb. 19, 1962 and he died Feb. 22, 1977
She and her husband were former owners of Creager's Poly Klean, North Manchester, for 10 years. She was a member of the Laketon Wesleyan Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Penny Piper) Bennett, North Manchester; grandchildren, Kerry Ashton of Pennsylvania, Kelly (Ashton) Longanecker and Korry Ashton, both of North Manchester; a great grandson, Andrew John Longanecker; step grandchildren, Heather Bennett Blocher and Amy Bennett of North Manchester, and Tim Bennett of Evansville, IN; sisters Mrs. Eli (Donna) Yoder of Rochester; Ruth Evelyn McLaughlin of Kalamazoo, MI, Mrs. John (Ella Mae) Young of Lapel, IN, and Rose Norman of Peru, IN; a brother, Jerry Kuhn of Macy, IN. There are also several nieces and nephews and four aunts who survive. Four brothers preceded her in death.
Funeral service was held Saturday, February 14, 1998 at Timbercrest Chapel, Timbercrest Church of the Brethren Home, with Rev. Tim Hibschman officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.
DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Preferred memorials are to Timbercrest Church of the Brethren Home.

Russell Knight
Russell Knight, 87, former Columbia City resident, died at the Hazard Community Hospital, Hazard, KY on February 10, 1998. He had been in failing health for two years.
He was born April 3, 1910 in Huntington, W. VA to Thomas and Stella (Chapman) Knight. He married Ruby Lewis on September 15, 1942. She died December 30, 1986.
They lived in Carrs Fork, KY before moving to Columbia City in 1968. He was employed at the Holmes Lumber Co., Columbia City, until his retirement in 1978. He had returned to live in Kentucky in 1994.
Surviving are four sons: George (Raymolee), Lesage, W. Va.; Homer (Patricia), Columbia City; Russell Wayne (Imogene), North Manchester; Roger (Roxanne) Columbia City. Three daughters: Mrs. Luther (Mary Lou) Pratt, Viper, Ky.; Patricia Sue Galbreath, Hastings, MI; Mrs. Robert (Carolyn) Burkhead, Vicco, Ky; 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren and a sister, Lola Butcher of Junction City, OH. Three grandchildren and a sister preceded him in death.
Services were held February 12, 1998 at Happy Freewill Baptist Church, Happy, KY. Burial was in the Bailey Cemetery, Kodak, Ky.

Ernest R. White
Ernest Ray White, 79, of Roann, IN died February 14, 1998 at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, IN. He was born Jan. 20, 1919 at Kentland, IN to Frank and Florence (Allen) White. He married Alice Sheets Oct. 21, 1945 in Kentland, IN. 
He was a World War II Army veteran, a member of Roann American Legion, FOP of Wabash, and Indiana Sheriff Association. He was a 1939 graduate of Kentland High School, and former member of Roann Lions club. He served as janitor for Metropolitan School District of Wabash County, and for merly worked at Sherman White's Creamery in Goodland, IN.
He is survived by his wife, Alice, of Roann; two sons - Richard White of San Antonio, TX and Gary White of Gilead, IN; a daughter, Debra Arnett of Roann; a brother Robert White of Kentland; and grandchildren Michael, Brian, Kimberly Scott, and Kristopher White; Amber, Blake, and Shana Turpen; Matthew and Nicholas Rife, and Trina Hickert; and 11 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers.
Funeral service was held this morning, Feb. 18, 1998, at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Roann Chapel with the Rev. Robert Armstrong officiating. Burial was in Roann Community Cemetery.
Grandstaff-Hentgen Roann Chapel was in charge of arrangements.

Berniece C. Kline
Berniece Catherine Kline, 89, of 305 Circle Dr., Huntington, IN died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 1998 at her residence. Mrs. Kline was born April 5, 1908 in North Manchester IN to Mahlon and Susannah (Butterbaugh) Heeter. She married George C. Kline July 17, 1927 in North Manchester, and he died Feb. 4, 1969.
Mrs. Kline was a homemaker. She was a member of Christ the King Episcopal Church of Huntington. A member of Erie Lackawanna Veterans Association, Happy Grandmothers Club, Past Noble Grand, Democrat Women's Club, Jolly Rebeckahs, Huntington County Extension Home-makers, Royal Neighbors of America, and Senior Citizens of Huntington County.
Survivors include a son, Edward T. Kline of Huntington; four daughters - Mrs. Alvin (Patricia) Heaston, Mrs. Paul (JoAnn) Dolby, Jr., Mrs. Larry (Sue) Holloway, Mrs. William (Carmen) Oswalt, all of Huntington; 14 grandchildren, and 16 great grandchildren. A grandson and a great-granddaughter, as well as a sister, Ruth Burkhart, preceded her in death.
Funeral service was held Friday, Feb. 13, 1998, at Christ the King Episcopal Church, with Rev. Margaret Harker officiating. Preferred memorials are to Christ the King Episcopal Church, 1224 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN 46750.
Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN was in charge of arrangements.

Edward Collins 
Edward Collins, 67, of 7836 W River Road, Roann, IN, died Monday, February 16, 1998 at Millers Merry Manor West, Wabash, IN. He was born March 14, 1930 at Sarah Ann, WV to Charles and Carmen (Chattie Damron) Collins, both deceased. He married Mildred M. Sargent Sept. 20, 1951. 
He was a plant manager in the mineral wool industry. He moved to Roann in 1978. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Collins is survived by his wife Mildred of Roann; sons David Collins of Climax, MI and Terry Collins of Portage, MI; a daughter Cathy Lyons of Roann; four brothers - Orville Collins of Battle Creek, MI, John Collins of Kalamazoo, MI, Woodrow Collins of Constantine, MI, and Ora Collins of Chapmanville, WV; a sister, Beatrice Sir of Daytona, FL; and eight grandchildren. Three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call Thursday, Feb. 19, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Farley-Estes-Dowdle Augusta Chapel, 307 N. Webster, in Augusta, MI. Funeral services will be held at the Augusta Chapel Friday, Feb. 20, 1998 at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Richard Collins officiating. Burial will take place in the Ft. Custer National Cemetery of Augusta, MI.

Nora Jean Miller

Nora Jean Miller, 86, a resi-dent of Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, and formerly of Smithville, OH, died Monday, March 23, 1998 at Wabash Skilled Care Center, Wabash, IN. She was born June 14, 1911 at West Alexander, PA to Isaac and Hortense (Hertig) Lawton. She married Dwight L. Miller Feb. 8, 1933 and he died July 10, 1975.

She is survived by three daughters - Mrs. Marlin (Lila) McCann and Mrs. Dale (Ann) McCauley, both of North Manchester, and Mrs. Larry (Marilyn) Weidenhamer of Sarasota, FL; a brother, William Lawton, of Lodi, OH and a half brother, Isaac Lawton of South Carolina; sisters Louise Conley of Wooster, OH and Kathryn Smedley of Smithville, OH; half sisters Mrs. Emerson (Rebecca) Stull of Wooster, OH and Mrs. Bill (Maloa) Palmer of Medina, OH; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

She was a member of North Manchester First Brethren Church, and its Hadassah Circle. 

Friends may call Thursday, March 26, from 5 to 8 p.m. at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary; also one hour prior to services Friday, March 27, 1998 at the Peabody Chapel, North Manchester, 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Ray Aspinall and Rev. Robert Schmeiser will officiate.

Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery, St.. Petersburg, FL. Preferred memorials are to First Brethren Church or Peabody Home Caring Circle. DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Lucille L. Colbert

Lucille L. "Joy" Colbert, 85, a resident of Peabody Retirement Community, died Saturday, March 21, 1998 at Peabody Healthcare Center, North Manchester, IN. She was born in Huntington County, IN May 12, 1912 to Charles and Rose (Gross) Steerhoof. She married Delmar Colbert Aug. 4, 1934 and he died January 14, 1989.

Mrs. Colbert was a home-maker and seamstress for Kramer Cleaners, formerly of North Manchester. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, North Manchester, and was Past President of Lutheran Church Women.

Survivors include a son, Gregory Colbert of Three Rivers, MI; daughters, Mrs. James (Jeanne) Shanahan of Clinton Township, MI and Mrs. Johnny (Chiquitta) Boyles of Kingsport, TN; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A brother and four sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral service was held this morning (Wednesday, March 25, 1998) at Peabody Chapel, North Manchester, with Pastor Jeffrey Hawkins officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Mildred I. Hoffman

Mildred I. Hoffman, 68, a resident of Rolling Meadows Health Care Center of LaFontaine, IN, died Saturday, March 21, 1998 at the Health Care Center. She was born Nov. 14, 1929 at East Point, KY to George and Hattie Mae (England) Music, both deceased.

A home maker, she was mar-ried to Lloyd Hoffman April 1949, and he preceded her in death Dec. 20, 1996.

Survivors include two sons - Larry Hoffman of Wabash and Danny Hoffman of North Manchester; two daughters - Mrs. Ronald (Linda) Meade of Silver Lake, IN and Cathy Eilts of North Manchester; four brothers - George Music and Bill Music, both of Laketon, IN, and Charles Music and Frank Music, both of North Manchester; two sisters - Mrs. Gary (Helen) Yentes of North Manchester, IN, and Ruth, address unknown; 10 grand-children and one great grand-child. One sister preceded her in death.

Graveside service was held Tuesday, March 24, 1998 at Laketon Cemetery, Laketon, IN with Rev. Melissa Rice officiat-ing. Eddingfield-DeLaughter Mortuary, 231 Falls Ave., Wabash, IN, was in charge of arrangements.

Joe Bradley

Arrangements are pending at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, Inc. for Joe Bradley of 113 W. Main St., North Manchester, IN. Mr. Bradley died at his residence this morning, March 25, 1998, 5:50 a.m.

Lewis Whitaker

Lewis Whitaker, 73, of Silver Lake, IN, died Tuesday, March 24, 1998, 9:49 a.m. at Parkview Memorial Hospital, Fort Wayne. Arrangements are pending at the DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, North Manchester, IN.

Russell Daniels, Jr.

Russell Daniels, Jr., 58, of 1563 Grand St., Wabash, IN 46992 died Monday, March 23, 1998 at Veterans Hospital, Indianapolis, IN. He was born Jan. 17, 1940 at Van Lear, KY to Russell and Dorothy Christine (Brown) Daniels, Sr. He married Lucille Wilson at Wise, VA on Nov. 27, 1971.

A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he was a member of the Wabash American Legion Post 15, and the Wabash Eagles Lodge. He had been a truck driver for Denver Equipment in Denver, IN.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille, of Wabash; a daughter, Tina Stefanski, also of Wabash; sisters Alice Hanke of Newark, DE and Elizabeth Vossler of Lender, TX; brothers, John R. and Tom Daniels, both of Wabash, and David Daniels of Sweetser; five granddaughters and one great granddaughter. One son preceded him in death.

Friends may call Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Avenue Chapel. Graveside service will be held Friday, March 27, 1998 at 11:00 a.m. at the Friends Cemetery of Wabash.
