Bonnie E. Ober

Funeral arrangements are pending at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary, Inc. for Bonnie Eva Ober, 87, a resident of Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester, IN. She died this morning (Wednesday), Nov. 12, 1997 at 5:40 a.m. at Peabody Healthcare Center.

Ruth W. Stanley

Ruth Wanda Stanley, 71, of 2929 Villa Rd., Apt. 6, Sebring, FL 33870, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997 at Highland Regional Hospital of Sebring, FL. She was born Feb. 16, 1926 at Jackson, KY to Jay and Nora (Walters) Holbrook.

She married James B. Stanley June 16, 1946. He died May 26, 1986. She retired from Eaton Controls in North Manchester after 30 years employment.

Survivors include three sons - George Dennis Reynolds of Nashville, TN, Melvin B. Stanley of Ocala, FL, and James Steven Stanley of Clintwood, VA; brothers Marion Holbrook of Farmingtown, MI and Clayton Holbrook of Portland, OR; a sister Loraine Mussard of Farmingtown, MI; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joann Bradley, two sisters and eight brothers.

Friends may call at Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel Wednesday, Nov. 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be held at the Bender Chapel Thursday, Nov. 13, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Ken Duke officiating. Burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery, Servia, IN.

Kevin J. Cole

Kevin J. Cole, 40, of 1445 Delaware St. Apt. 201, Indianapolis, IN, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997 at his residence. He was born April 4, 1957 at Wabash, IN to Cyril and Maxine (Baldinger) Cole, both deceased.

Kevin was a self employed antique dealer in Indianapolis. He was a 1975 graduate of Wabash High School and received his Bachelors Degree in English from Indiana University in 1980. He never married.

Survivors include a brother, Danny L. Cole of Wabash and a nephew GA. Cole of Biloxi, MS.

Funeral service was held today (Wednesday), Nov. 12, 1997 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Manchester Ave. Chapel, Wabash, with Rev. Michael Heinbaugh officiating The body was cremated.

Lilly G. Schroll

Lilly Genevieve Schroll, 67, of Greenlawn Apartments, Akron, IN died Nov. 7, 1997 at Akron. She was born July 15, 1930 to John C. and Leora J. (Worden) Butcher, both deceased. She married Harold L. Schroll Dec. 17, 1949 at the Niconza Baptist Church, rural Roann. She attended the Niconza Baptist Church and the Olive Branch Church of God.

Survivors include her husband, Harold of Rochester, IN; three sons Larrison V. (Larry) Schroll of Roann, Harold L. Schroll Jr. of Kewanna, IN; and Phillip L. Schroll of Logansport; a daughter, Mrs. Jeffrey (Annette) Baker of Fort Wayne; four brothers - Robert Butcher of Fulton, IN, Robert Butcher and Ronnie Butcher both of Denver, IN, and David Butcher of Peru, IN; a sister, Mrs. Ron (Charlotte) Hoff of Wisconsin; eight grandchildren and two step grandchildren. A daughter, a sister, and a brother preceded her in death.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, Nov. 11, 1997 at the Olive Branch Church of god with the Rev. Lawrence See officiating. Burial was in Memorial Lawns Cemetery of Wabash.

Roann Chapel Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements. Preferred memorials are to the Hope Hospice of Rochester, IN.

Loretta S. Conrad

Loretta S. "Connie" Conrad, 86, a resident of Millers Merry Manor East, Wabash, died Saturday, Nov. 8, 1997 at Millers Merry Manor East. She was born Nov. 9, 1910 at Andrews, IN to Marcus and Florence (James) Stevens, both deceased.

She married Gerald Conrad in Wabash on Feb. 5, 1931, and he died May 20, 1982. Connie worked for many years at the J.C. Penney Store in Wabash, and retired from Hooks Drug Store, also in Wabash. She lived most of her life in Wabash County.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ernest (Doris) Passwater of Wabash; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Four sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, Nov. 11, 1997 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Main St. Chapel in Wabash. The Rev. Don Crabill officiated and burial was in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.

Arrangements were by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service.

Lela Mae Evans

Lela Mae Evans, 88, a resident of Timbercrest Retirement Community, North Manchester, IN, died Thursday, Nov. 6, 1997 at Wabash County Hospital. She was born Jan. 18, 1909 at Greenville, OH to Franklin and Lillian (Zumbrum) Weimer. She married Lorin "Snow" Evans July 21, 1934 in North Manchester, IN. He died Feb. 1, 1988. She was a graduate of Manchester College. She taught Latin, Math, and English in the Wakarusa and Concord School systems in northern Indiana for 29 years, retiring in 1968. She was a member of the Syracuse Church of the Brethren, Syracuse, IN.

Survivors include a son, James C. Evans of Naples, FL; a daughter, Bettye F. Holderread of Elkhart, IN; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two brothers, a sister and a nephew preceded her in death.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, Nov. 11, 1997 at Timbercrest Chapel with Rev. Bruce Hostetler officiating. Burial was in Violett Cemetery, located south of Goshen, IN. 

Grandstaff-Hentgen Bender Chapel was in charge of arrangements. Preferred memorials are to the Timbercrest Church of the Brethren Home, North Manchester, IN.

Robert E. Heeter

Robert E. "Gene Heeter, 60, of 140 E. Wall St., Liberty Mills, IN, died Friday, Nov. 7, 1997 at Wabash County Hospital, Wabash, IN. He was born at North Manchester, IN March 20, 1937 to Ralph and Edith M. (Basicker) Heeter, both deceased. Mr. Heeter has been a foreman 29 years at the former Warner Corp. in North Manchester. He was presently employed at Flex-Ohm, Inc. at North Webster, IN. He was a 1956 graduate of Chester High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict, and a member of the Liberty Mills United Methodist Church.

He married Quay Jones Dec. 8, 1990 and she survives.

Other survivors include sons Kevin and Kent Heeter, both of West Alexandria, OH; a step-son, Michael Adcox of Oscoda, MI; five step-daughters: Denise Lockett of Carthage, MS, Debra Bufkin and Melissa Bufkin, both of Vicksburg, MS, Penny Woods of Tallasee, AL, and Kathy Abraham of Marquette, MI; a brother, Alan Heeter of Warsaw, IN; 15 step grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held Monday, Nov. 10, 1997 at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary of North Manchester, with the Rev. Mark Flora Swick officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester.

Dennis Dotson

Dennis Dotson, 44, of 12183 So. 100W, Silver Lake, IN, died Friday,. Nov. 7, 1997 at St. Joseph Hospital, Plymouth, IN. He was born July 5, 1953 at Warsaw, IN to the Rev. Ralph and Aggie (Wadkins) Dotson of Silver Lake. He married Lorene Shepherd July 12, 1995 and she survives.

He was a 1971 graduate of Warsaw High School and was employed as a maintenance person at Dalton Foundry, Warsaw.

Survivors include his wife, his parents, and sons Devan and Justan Dotson of Silver Lake; a step son, Steven Wolfe of Pierceton, IN; daughters Kendra Dotson of Silver Lake; step daughter, Alicia Wolfe of Silver Lake; brothers Ralph Dotson Jr., Lorin Dotson, David Dotson, John Dotson, all of Silver Lake, and Steven Dotson of North Manchester; sisters Mrs. Ken (Connie) Burton of North Manchester, Mrs. Pamela Green of Middlebury, Mrs. Chris (Lisa) Reed of Roann.

Funeral service was held Tuesday, Nov. 11, 1997 at DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary. Burial was in Graceland Cemetery of Claypool, IN. 

Grace B. Miller

Grace B. Miller, 89, a resident of Timbercrest Retirement Community, North Manchester, IN, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 1997 at Timbercrest Healthcare Center. She was born in Kosciusko County, IN Nov. 11, 1907 to James A. and Lydia (Metzger) Beigh. She was a homemaker, married to Hugh Miller Dec. 24, 1926; he preceded her in death June 10, 1989.

Survivors include sons Dr. Edward D. Miller of Ft. Myers Beach, FL and Robert S. Miller of Martinsville, IN; a daughter, Mrs. James (Joan) Sovay of Apache Junction, AZ; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Five brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral service was held today (Wednesday) Nov. 12, 1997 at Timbercrest Chapel with the Rev. James Butler officiating. Burial was in Ulrey Memorial Cemetery in Kosciusko County.

DeLaughter-McKee Mortuary was in charge of arrangements. Preferred memorials are to the Timbercrest Retirement Community.
