She was preceded in death by her husband, Claud Elmer Barnes on Sept. 14, 1952; a son, Claud "Bud" Barnes Jr. on May 16, 1975; and a daughter, Mary Helen Smith in 1996.

She was a member of Full Gospel Tabernacle, was a former member of Memorial Tabernacle and enjoyed crocheting and quilting. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Bradley Wright on July 26, 1970; and a daughter, Olvalena Wright on July 31, 1964.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II, was a member of the Sea Bee First Battalion Marine Division at Okinawa and was awarded the Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He was a member of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Louisville, Progress Masonic Lodge No. 932, Order of the Eastern Star Victory Chapter 447, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers No. 369 and Highland Kiwanis Club.

She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Leopold, where she was a member of the Altar Society, and enjoyed quilting and gardening. Her husband, Frank Samuel Hubert, died Dec. 24, 1984.

He was the oldest member of Cherry Hill Baptist Church in Central City and was also a member of W.P.A. He was a Kentucky Colonel and was active in the Democratic Party. His wife, Lucille Payne Millard, died in 1984.

She was born in Owensboro and graduated from the University of Kentucky and attended Stetson University. She was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority and was a retired member of the Kentucky Educators Association. She taught school most of her life in Mount Sterling as a high school music and chorale director and was a member of Downtown Baptist Church, where she was the pianist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Carrington, in 1975.

Edwin D. "Bud" Erwin, 79, of 3709 Thruston Dermont Road, Owensboro, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. He was born in McLean County and retired from General Electric after 51 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church, where he was a member of the K.P. Sunday school class. He was a charter member and past president of Allied Industrial Workers AFL-CIO Local No. 783, was a former board member of Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital and was a former board member of the American Heart Association. He formerly served for the Unemployment Review Board for the state of Kentucky and was a former Boy Scout leader, where he was a recipient of the Silver Beaver award. He was a charter member of the Roosevelt House board, was a board member of the Owensboro Treatment Center and was a past volunteer for Toys for Tots.

He was born in Ranger, Ind., and was a veteran of World War II, where he was an infantryman serving in England, France and Austria spent 242 days on the front lines. He was a farmer and also worked at the Branchville Job Corp. and for the state highway department. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2939, Disabled Veterans No. 85 and St. Augustine Catholic Church in Leopold. He was a member of the Perry County Coon Club and was an avid coon hunter.

She was a former postal clerk in Hickman and served as Fulton County Republican chairperson for many years. She had served as Fulton County Election Commissioner since 1957, was in the Who's Who in American Politics and worked with the late Sen. John Sherman Cooper on many projects for Fulton County. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Shaw Bacon Sr.

She was born in Richland, Ind., and retired from Millers Health Systems as a nurse's aid after 18 years. She volunteered her time after retirement at Millers Health Systems and Lincoln Hills Development Corp., where she served on the board, and was a member of Richland Christian Church in Richland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Jr." Williams, in 1986.

She was a member of Crescent Hill United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Methodist Hospital Auxiliary.

GREENVILLE - Dorlas Methany-Downey, 81, of Atlanta, formerly of Greenville, died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, in Atlanta. She organized Girls in Actions, Women's Mission Unions taught Sunday school and led training union groups at various churches with her first husband. She held the first vacation Bible school in the Black Baptist Church in Greenville in 1948. She was instrumental in organizing and founding Roland Memorial Baptist Church in Greenville with her first husband and also taught elementary school for several years. Her home was always welcome to missionaries and visiting preachers. She was preceded in death by her first husband, the Rev. J.B. Methany.

James Edward Miller, 81, of 2957 Allen St., Owensboro, died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. He was born in Daviess County, retired from Jagoe Building Supply, where he had worked in the paint department, and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Winsome Sunday school class, and was a member of the American Legion and the Travelers Protective Association. He was an avid gardener and donated vegetables to the H.L. Neblett Center and Tenth Street Soup Kitchen. He enjoyed painting and building things.
