She was a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star Acacia Chapter No. 46 and Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. Her husband, Gilbert C. "Red" Mills, died Nov. 8, 1979.

Marjorie Ernestyne Lovell Chinn, 82, of 2016 Sheridan Place, Owensboro, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center in Owensboro. She was born in Muhlenberg County and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was a second-grade teacher at Longfellow School for 11 years and was a kindergarten teacher at Wesleyan Heights. Her husband, Melvin Chinn, died in 1989.

She was a freelance feature article writer, was a freelance photographer and was a bookkeeper at Worthington Training Kennel, which was owned by her husband. She was a hostess and operated with her husband the Hunting Lease for FINA Oil Co. in Big Springs, Texas. She was a member of the Owensboro Herb Society, Owensboro Photography Club, Owensboro Kennel Club and Owensboro Ornithological Club. She enjoyed gardening and classical music.

Ethel Vanover DeBruler, 80, of 1327 W. Third St., Owensboro, died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 1998, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was born in Hopkins County, retired from the Owensboro Board of Education, where she served as secretary to former superintendents Kenneth Estes and Dr. William Chandler, and was the secretary for the Owensboro Independent School Transportation System. She was a member of Eaton Memorial Baptist Church and the Elizabeth Maglinger Sunday school class. She received the mayor's Key to the City Award for her work as president of the State Association of Educational Support Personnel and served on various committees of the state and national associations of Educational Support Personnel. She was a co-founder of the Wheeler's Wheel Retired Past President's Association of Educational Support Personnel. She was a Lady Kentucky Colonel, was a volunteer for tax preparation at the Elizabeth Munday Center and volunteered at the Owensboro Museum of Fine Art and the RiverPark Center. Her husband, George V. DeBruler, died in 1995.

The Rev. Anthony T. Ziegler

The Rev. Anthony T. Ziegler, 64, of the Carmel Home, Owensboro, died Monday, Feb. 9, 1998, at the Carmel Home. He was born in New Orleans, attended St. Stephen School for three years and attended St. Francis Academy in Owensboro for two years. He finished his high school education at the St. Charles College Seminary in Carthagena, Ohio, where he continued in the seminary from 1948 to June 1953; received his degree in philosophy from St. Mary's Seminary in Baltimore, and received his degree in theology in 1959 from St. Maur's Seminary in South Union. He was ordained on May 1, 1959, at St. Stephen Cathedral in Owensboro and served as assistant pastor at St. Agnes Church in Uniontown from 1959 to 1962, while he ministered on weekends at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Hopkinsville. He taught at Owensboro Catholic High School from 1962 to 1973 while he was in residence and was a part-time assistant at St. Stephen Cathedral, and he was the pastor at St. Sebastian Catholic Church in Calhoun from 1968 to 1971. He was the chaplain at Mount St. Joseph from 1976 to 1982, an associate professor at Brescia College from 1973 to 1982 and was assigned as the pastor of St. Peter and Sacred Heart parishes in Waverly from 1993 to the present. He established the Diocesan Office of Worship and was the director from 1983 to 1992, established the Office for the Continuing Education of the Clergy and was the director from 1983 to 1996 and was the president and director of the National Association of Continuing Education for Clergy and Religious.

Vela Mae Bidwell Coleman, 87, of 4523 Sutherland Road, Owensboro, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. She was born in Calhoun and was a member of First Baptist Church. She was formerly employed by General Electric Co. and was a self-employed seamstress. Her husband, Terry Coleman, died Dec. 27, 1987.

He was born in New Albany, Ind., and retired as a farmer in 1979, where he continued to assist his son in the operation. He was a member and deacon of Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Derby and was a 50-year member of Rome Masonic Lodge F&AM No. 133. He served on the board of directors of Perry Spencer Rural Telephone Cooperative and assisted in the founding of the Glennwood Church campgrounds near Derby.
