Flossie Baird, 89, Mt. Carmel, died Sept. 17, 2000, at St. Johns Mercy Hospital in Washington, Mo. She was born April 27, 1911, in Bridgeport, the daughter of Bert and Amanda (Highsmith) Robinson.
Mrs. Baird attended St. Mary's School of Nursing in Evansville, Ind. and retired from nursing at Wabash General Hospital. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Mt. Carmel and Lawrenceville.
Surviving are three sons, Richard Baird, Leslie, Mo.; Jon Baird, Hanover Park; Joe Baird, Jupiter, Fla.; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, four brothers, Ralph, Harvey, Glenn, and Bill Robinson and a sister, Goldie Garrard.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000, at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Mt. Carmel.

Gerald "Jerry" Askren
He was born Aug. 2, 1946, in Fort Branch, Ind., the son of Ray and Olive (Deffendall) Askren.
Gerald married Darlene Reed on April 5, 1968, in Mt. Carmel, and she survives.
Mr. Askren was a farmer and later became a coal miner. He was a member of the Apostolic Church in Johnson, Ind. and the VFW. He was in the United States Army and served in Korea and Germany.
Surviving are his mother, Olive Askren, Owensville, Ind., his wife of 32 years, Darlene Askren, Princeton, Ind.; a daughter, Jerri Lynn Askren, Mt. Carmel; twin sons, Tommy and Johnny Askren, Princeton, Ind.; a sister, Lois Wright, Princeton, Ind.; and a brother, William Askren, Mt. Vernon, Ind.
Preceding him in death was his father, Ray Askren.
Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000, from the chapel of Short Funeral Home in Mt. Carmel with burial in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Short Funeral Funeral Home.

Mrs. Wetzel was a member of the Allendale Christian Church.
Surviving are a nephew, James Puswaskis, Bourbonnais, and a niece, Donna Harenski, Clifton.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, two sisters, Lucille McClain and Margaret Puswaskis.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, at Highland Memorial Cemetery.
There will be no visitation. Short Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Jamie Janee Cessna Ault
She was born, May 25, 1977, in Olney, the daughter of Robert and Tammy (Reeves) Cessna.
She married Jesse Ault Aug. 23, 1996, in Lawrenceville.
She was a member of the Calvary Apostolic Church of Lawrenceville and active in its ministry. Jamie was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband; daughter, Angel, 3; two sons, Grant, age 2 and Aric, age 1, all at home; her father, Robert Cessna of Mt. Carmel; step-mother, Becky Cessna; mother, Tammy Reeves, Lawrenceville; one brother, Gary Reeves of Emison, Ind.; a half-brother, Arron McKinney; a half-sister, Mary Cessna of Mt. Carmel; a step-brother, Richard Strainer of Mt. Carmel and a step-sister, Heather Strainer of St. Francisville.
Friends may call Tuesday, Feb. 6, 6-9 p.m. and Wednesday at 1 p.m. until service hour (at the church).
Services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 7 at Calvary Apostolic Church, East of Lawrenceville; Pastor Jason Donaldson and Pastor Kyle Stoops officiating.
Burial will be in City Cemetery, Lawrenceville.
Memorials may be made to the Calvary Apostolic Church through the Smith Funeral Home.

He retired from Lappe Heating and Air Company in Evansville.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda Davis; and a son, Donald Crabtree of Owensville; two sisters, Iva Robinson of Owensville and Gladys Gish of Evansville; four grandchildren, Todd, Derrick, Doug and Jannaria Crabtree; and two great-grandchildren, Kaci and Tyler Crabtree.
Graveside services will be held Monday, June 25 at 2 p.m. at the Owensville Cemetery. Rev. Bob Douglas will officiate.
There will be no visitation at Holder Funeral Home in Owensville.

Juanita Stice "Gran Gran" Allen
She was born, Jan. 14, 1908, in Knox County, Ind., the daughter of the late Orie and Cynthia (Smith) Williams.
Mrs. Allen was a homemaker.
She married John A. Allen on Oct. 13, 1943, in Vincennes, Ind. and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, Jack (Angeline) Stice, St. Cloud, Minn.; Terry (Hazel) Allen, Mt. Carmel; two daughters, Bette Durland, Tampa, Fla.; Gloria (Jesse) Dixon, Dyer, Ind.; 11 grandchildren and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents, husband and a brother, Claude Williams.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at Lawrenceville City Cemetery in Lawrenceville.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Short Funeral Home in Mt. Carmel.
Mrs. Allen was a special lady and loved by many.
Marguerita J. Holsen
She was born Aug. 28, 1909, in St. Francisville, the daughter of J. Clint and Harriet (Schafer) Robinson.
Mrs. Holsen graduated from Lawrenceville High School, attended Eureka College and received her BA degree from Oakland City College. She was an elementary teacher with the Allendale Schools for 17 years, and a member of the Allendale First Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands Dwight L. King and Frederick Holsen; foster sister, Hattie Schafer Canedy; and ex-husband Delbert Saxe.
She is survived by three daughters, Diane C. (King) Gay and husband William D. of Tucson, Ariz., Mary L. (King) Taujillo of Las Vegas, N.M.; and Norma Jean (Saxe) Colborn of Indianapolis, Ind.; brother, Conrad Robinson and wife Wanda of Mt. Carmel; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, April 19, at the Allendale Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Ingram Funeral Home in Allendale.
