Arlee E. Evans, 48, of East Alton, died Aug. 6, 2000, in Saint Anthony's Health Center in Alton. He married Violet Kingston, who survives. Also surviving are his father and step-mother, Wilbert and Julie Evans of Bethalto; sons, Shaun and Chad, both of Alton; daughters, Shana Allsman of East Alton, and Malissa Barr of Wood River; a brother, Laven of Black Canyon City, Az.; and sisters, Jeannie Fortner of Tampa, Fl., Tamara Linscott and Alonda Esperago, both of Phoenix, Az., Jacalyn of Arizona, and Andrea Huff of Brighton. Services were in Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights. Memorials may be given to First Southern Baptist Church of Meadowbrook.

Edward Russell Evertsen, 84, died June 23, 1997. He married Harriet Fichtel, who preceded him in death. Surviving are a son, Edward of Alton; a daughter, Lana Perry of Alton; a step-daughter, Marilyn Carroll of Alton; sisters, Irene Voltmer of El Cajon, Ca., and Shirley Tyree of Bensenville, Il.; and five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Services were in Elias-Smith in Alton. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer's Association.

Stella M. Eyster, 54, of Godfrey, died May 18, 2000, in Christian Hospital Northeast in St. Louis. Her husband, Raymond, survives. Also surviving are a son, Thomas of Texas; daughters, Diana and Sara Eyster, both of Godfrey; and a brother, Larry Turner of Texas. Services were in Elias-Smith Funeral Home in Alton.
