The response to the death of musician Anita Louise Crane was overwhelming. The visitation line snaked through the funeral home viewing room, into the lobby, onto the porch, and out to the sidewalk. The wait was an hour to an hour and a half. When visitors reached her family, all were wearing angel pins, because that is the way her family and friends remember her - an angel. Never a cross word, always a smile, and she joyfully taught hundreds of individuals to play the piano. Many were at her visitation and funeral. Besides being a music teacher, Anita was the organist for Main Street United Methodist Church, and had been organist for other churches in the Alton-Godfrey area.
