William 'Bill' Christie
Age 66 of Woodruff, Wis. died on Monday, June 18 at Howard Young Medical
Center in Woodruff, Wis. He was born on June 28, 1934 in Chicago, the son
of William and Amanda Christie.
He is survived by two children, Michael (Sandra) Christie and Julie
(Jerry) Levandowski, both of Lake Tomahawk, Wis.; five grandchildren, a
brother and step sister. He is preceded in death by his wife.
Memorial Services were held June 22 at Our Lady Queen of the Universe
Catholic Church in Woodruff, Wis., officiated by Fr. Edward F. Beutner.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.

Irene E. O'Neal (nee Durkin)
Age 81 of Round Lake Park, formerly of Dolton passed away Saturday,
June 16, 2001 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. Born July 5, 1919
in Chicago, the daughter of the late Frank Durkin and Arlene Buds. A resident
of Round Lake Park the past three years. Irene retired in 1981 from the
Jewel Food Stores where she was employed as a clerk. A former member of
St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dolton, and member of AARP.
She leaves her daughter, Barbara (Vern) Lau of Round Lake Park; grandchildren,
Diana (James) Verstege of Round Lake, Donald Lau of Round Lake, Dale (Michelle)
Lau of Spring Grove; great grandchildren, Megan and Jacob Lau; and a sister,
Helen Grabowski of Park City. She is preceded in death by her husband,
Robert O'Neal in 1998,
Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated June 20 at St. Joseph Catholic
Church, Round Lake.
Graveside services were held June 20, at Oakland Memorial Lanes of
Dolton.
Friends of the family visited at the Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium,
Ltd., Grayslake.
Juanita L. Keller
Age 77 of Grayslake passed away on Friday, June 22, 2001 at her residence.
Born July 21, 1923 in St. Joseph, Mo. A resident of Grayslake the past
52 years.
She leaves her husband, Paul G. Keller whom she wed on Nov. 1, 1943
in Oklahoma; daughter, Diane (Randy) Barron of Wahiawa, Hi; sons, William
Keller of Chloride, Ariz. and David (Carla) Keller of New Hampshire; nine
grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
Funeral Services were held June 28 at St. Andrew Episcopal Church,
Grayslake with the Fr. Joel Webb officiating.
Committal rites were held June 28 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery,
Elwood.

James J. Lesza
Age 82 of Gages Lake passed away at his residence on Saturday, June
23, 2001. Born July 23, 1918 in Chicago.
He leaves his daughters, Fran of Gages Lake, Cathy (Mike) Clarke of
Wildwood; sons, Lawrence (Karen) Lesza of Fort Meyers, Fla., James Jr.
(Maggie) of Bristol, Wis.; grandchildren and sisters. He is preceded in
death by his wife, Lucille
A Memorial Mass was held June 27 at St. Gilberts Catholic Church, Grayslake.
There was no visitation.
Interment was privately held at Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, in
Libertyville.
Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium Ltd., Grayslake were entrusted
with arrangements.
Kenneth E. Thomsen
Age 72, formerly of Northbrook passed away Thursday, June 21, 2001
at Libertyville Manor Care Facility. Born April 27, 1929 in McGrath, Minn.
He leaves his son, Keith (Kathy) Thomsen of Grayslake; grandchildren
and sisters. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Thomsen in 1996.
Visitation and Memorial Service was held June 25 at the Strang Funeral
Chapel and Crematorium Ltd., Grayslake with the Rev. Ray Clennon officiating.
Interment was privately held.

Julius L. Ortman
Age 88, formerly of Chicago, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2001 at
Libertyville Manor Care Facility. Born Nov. 17, 1912 in Elkport, Iowa,
the son of the late Henry Ortman and Katherine Hine
He leaves his brothers, Loyal Ortman of Round Lake and Myron Ortman
of Florida.
Services were privately held.
Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Ltd., Grayslake, were entrusted
with arrangements.
Steven M. Fallon
Age 24 of Ingleside, passed away suddenly on Friday, June 22, 2001
at Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry. He was born Jan. 28, 1977
in Libertyville.
Survivors include his girlfriend, Sena Neff of Ingleside and his son,
Tre Fallon at their home in Ingleside; his father, Mark Fallon of Spring
Grove; his mother, Nancy Fallon of Lake Geneva, Wis.; a brother, David
(Debbie) Fallon, also of Spring Grove; grandparents and other relatives.
Funeral Services were held at Spring Grove Funeral Chapel, Spring Grove
with Rev. Terry Dufur of Grace Lutheran Church in Richmond, officiating.
Interment was private.

Viola A. White
Age 90 of Antioch, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2001 at the Rolling
Hills Manor, Zion. She was born July 30, 1910 in Chicago, the daughter
of the late Frank and Lillian (Roth) White. She had lived for many years
in Elmwood Park, and later in Arlington Heights, before moving to Antioch
in 1998. Viola was a long time secretary for the Montgomery Ward Co., and
later with the VA Hospital in Chicago, retiring 1975. She was a member
of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Survivors include her nephews, David, Paul and Andrew White and John
Hojem; and a niece, Celia Hojem of Antioch; and her sister-in-law Lucille
Hojem.
Services and interment was private.
In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the American Cancer Society
of the Antioch Rescue Squad in her memory.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Strang Funeral Home of Antioch.
Bernard K. Olszewski
Age 73 of Antioch, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2001 at Evanston Hospital.
He was born Feb. 21, 1928 in Chicago.
Survivors include his wife of over 46 years, Patricia; a son, Bernie
Jr. (Cathy) of Richmond; sisters and grandchildren. He is preceded in death
by his parents, and a brother.
Funeral Services with Mass of Christian burial was held June 26 at
St. Peter Church, Antioch.
Interment was private.
Friends called at Strang Funeral Home, Antioch on June 25.

Alexander Blake Slone
Age 14 of Grayslake, passed away June 21, 2001 at Condell Medical Center
in Libertyville. He was born Aug. 27, 1986 in Lake Forest.
He is survived by his parents, Perry and Sandra of Grayslake; brother,
Austen and sister, Madison; grandmother, Anna Lenczuk; grandfather, Joseph
Slone Sr.; uncles and other relatives.
Friends gathered June 25 at St. Gilbert Catholic Church, Grayslake
for the celebration of the Mass of the Resurrection.
Interment followed at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville.

H. Dean Reed
Age 86 of Libertyville, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2001 at the
Libertyville Manor. He was born Jan. 9, 1915 in Wymore, Neb. He married
his college sweetheart, Raedith Atwood on June 20, 1938.
Surviving are his wife, Raedith; two children, Karen (Al) Kuhlman of
Libertyville and Doug (Debbie) Reed of Lake Forest; grandchildren, great
grandchildren and a brother.
Funeral Services was held June 27 at the United Methodist Church, Libertyville.
Interment followed at Highland Memorial Park
Visitation was June 26 at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, Libertyville.

Milos Stankovich
Age 81 of Libertyville, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2001 at the
Condell Medical Center. He was born Sept. 15, 1919 in Yugoslavia.
Surviving are his wife, Hildegard Stankovich; children, Peter (Dusica)
Stankovich of Mundelein and Radica (Jezda) Peric of Yugoslavia; and grandchildren.
Funeral Service was held June 23 at the Most Holy Mother of God Monastery
in Third Lake.
Interment followed in the church cemetery.
Visitation of family and friends was held at the Burnett-Dane Funeral
Home, Libertyville where the pomen services was held June 22.
Linda E. Stratford (nee Lamberty)
Age 54 of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, formerly of Lake Villa died Tuesday,
June 19, 2001 at St. Thomas Hospital in Akron, Ohio. She was born Aug.
13, 1946 in Barbarton, Ohio.
She is survived by her husband, Edward 'Ed' Stratford of Cuyahoga Falls,
Ohio; brother, Frank (Kris) Lamberty of Fox Lake; nephews and niece and
other relatives.
Friends of the family visited June 24 at the K. K. Hamsher Funeral
Home Ltd., Fox Lake (The Chapel on the Lake) where Memorial Services were
held with Pastor Lisle J. Kauffman of Calvary Presbyterian Church, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family will be appreciated in
her memory.
Jack R. Hagen
Age 41 of Long Lake-Ingleside, passed away at Lutheran General Hospital,
Park Ridge on Monday, June 18, 2001, the result of injuries sustained in
a motorcycle accident.
He is survived by his wife and best friend, Karen; his children, Ariana,
Ahleah and Alexis; grandson, mother, brothers and other relatives.
Memorial Services were held June 23 at Faith Lutheran Church, Antioch.
A Memorial will be established to honor Jack's memory at a future date.
Contributions may be made to the family for that purpose if desired.

Patricia J. Hansen
Age 65 of Antioch passed away Monday, June 18, 2001 at her home. She
was born Oct. 4, 1935 in Chicago.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeannie P. Gibson of Antioch; a son,
Fred C. (Carolyn) Bogs of Plano, Tex.; brothers, sisters, nine grandchildren,
five great grandchildren and dear friend, Dale Overland of Chicago.
Funeral Services were held June 23 at the Strang Funeral Home of Antioch.

Lawrence 'Larry' Mitchell
Age 71 of Libertyville, passed away Friday, Feb. 9, 2001 at the Condell
Medical Center. He was born July 23, 1929 in Sidney, Mont.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara; a son, Brian of Libertyville; daughters,
Nora (Warren) Meyers of Lake Villa and Cindy Redman of Escondido, Calif.;
grandchildren, mother and brothers and sisters.
A Memorial Service was held June 24 at the First Presbyterian Church
in Libertyville.

William R. 'Chuck' Chambers
Age 50 of Lincolnshire, passed away suddenly Thursday, June 14, 2001
at his home. He was born Aug. 9, 1950 in Canton, Miss.,
Survivors include his wife, Margo and his son, William Ross Chambers
V, of Lincolnshire; his mother, Allene Chambers of Canton; brother and
a niece. He is preceded in death by his father, Eugene Chambers in 1972.
Visitation and a Memorial Service was held June 23 at the Burnett-Dane
Funeral Home, Libertyville.
Interment was held at Canton Cemetery.

Rose Fritsch
Age 70 of Libertyville passed away Sunday, June 24, 2001 at the Condell
Medical Center, Libertyville. She was born March 22, 1931 in Waukegan.
Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Cyrus Fritsch; sons, Douglas
(Milda) Fritsch of Lake Zurich and Michael (Janis) Fritsch of Wheaton;
grandchildren, sister, brother and other relatives.
Funeral Services were held June 28 at the Hope Lutheran Church, Long
Grove with Rev. Michael McPherson officiating.
Interment followed at North Northfield Cemetery in Northbrook.
Visitation was held at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, Libertyville.

Edward R. 'Midge' Bunk
Age 77 of North Chicago, died Tuesday, June 19, 2001 at North Shore
Terrace in Waukegan. He was born Sept. 21, 1923 in Marshfield, Wis.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene (Luce), whom he married Feb. 15,
1947; sons, Louis (Ann) Bunk of Hawaii and Steven (Diane) Bunk of Waukegan;
grandchildren, a brother, sisters and other relatives.
Visitation of family and friends was at Salata Funeral Chapel, North
Chicago.
Mass was celebrated at Queen of Peace Church with interment at Ascension
Cemetery.
Wallace 'Wally' P. Fritz
Age 71 of Grayslake, passed away Monday, June 25, 2001 at his residence.
Born Nov. 11, 1929 in Solon Mills.
He is survived by his wife, Diane (nee Vassau) whom he wed in December,
1953 in Richmond; sons, Michael (Julie) Fritz of Reno, Nev., Jim (Patti)
Fritz of Lake Villa; five grandchildren; sisters and brothers.
Memorial Services were held June 28, at the Strang Funeral Chapel and
Crematorium Ltd., Grayslake with the Rev. Orrell Ruth from the United Protestant
Church of Grayslake officiating.
Interment was privately held.

Clista H. Segerson
Age 89 of Lake Forest, passed away Monday, June 25, 2001 at the Pebblebrook
Healthcare Center in Lake Bluff. She was born April 21, 1912 in Kenton,
Mich.
Survivors include her children, Beverly (Marvin) Hill of Lake Forest
and Roger Segerson of Denver, Colo.; two grandchildren and sisters. She
is preceded in death by her husband Gunnard Segerson, her parents and other
relatives.
Services are pending at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home in Libertyville.
Interment will be in Michigan.
Jack L. Dennis
Age 80, of Libertyville, passed away Tuesday, June 26, 2001 at Lutheran
General Hospital in Park Ridge. He was born Oct. 5, 1920 in Cambridge,
Ohio.
Surviving are his wife, Lillian (nee Cordell) Dennis of Libertyville;
two sons, James (Joan) Dennis of Vernon Hills and Howard (Sandra) Dennis
of Denham Spring, La.; his sister and sister-in-law.
Visitation and Funeral Services were held June 28 at the Burnett-Dane
Funeral Home, Libertyville.
Ronald Elbert Liskos
Age 70, died Sunday, June 3, 2001 at the North Chicago VAMC. He was
born Sept. 6, 1930 in Chicago.
He is survived by many loving friends and associates that were part
of his life at the North Chicago VAMC, especially those with whom he worked
in Human Resources.
A Memorial Service was conducted at the North Chicago VAMC Chapel (Building
4) on June 11.
Visitation was held at the Gurnee Funeral Home, Gurnee on June 11.

Frank 'Jim' Jordan
Age 85 of North Chicago died Thursday, June 21, 2001 at his home. He
was born Jan. 6, 1916 in North Chicago.
He is survived by his wife, Helen (nee Zorc); a daughter, Dolores 'Dollie'
Kennedy of Gurnee; two sons, Charles Jordan of Antioch and James Jordan
of North Chicago, and sisters.
Visitation and Funeral Services was June 23 at the Salata Funeral Chapel,
Libertyville.
