Age 74 of Lake Villa, passed away on Dec. 3, 2000 at Hillcrest Nursing
Center in Round Lake Beach. She was born in Chicago on April 15, 1926.
She is survived by her children, Jerome (Anita) Ashmus of Lake Villa,
Frank J. Ashmus of Pontiac, Mark (Kristine) Ashmus of Fond Du Lac, Wis.,
Louise E. Ashmus of Kenosha, Wis., step-daughter, Sherry (Terry) DeMay
of Kenosha, Wis. and step-son, Leroy Johnson of Cross Lake, Wis.
Funeral Services were held Dec. 6 from Ringa Funeral Home, Lake Villa
to Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Lake Villa for the funeral Mass.
Interment was private.
Georgiana E. Newman
Age 80 of Grayslake passed away Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000 at the Winchester
House in Libertyville. She was born in Ellenburg, NY on Oct. 1, 1920.
Georgiana will be greatly missed by her two sons, Daniel (Jennifer)
Kliarsky of Palatine, Kevin Kliarsky of Prospect Heights, her daughter,
Karen (John) Vellardita of Madison, Wis.
Following Georgiana's wishes, there was no visitation or funeral service.
Interment was private.

Howard 'Red' Stann
Age 86 of Lake Villa passed away Saturday, Nov. 18, 2000 and his wife,
Eileen (Zorger) Stann, 80 passed away Saturday, Dec. 3, 2000 both at Northwest
Community Hospital, Arlington Heights, after a five-year battle with cancer.
He was born Sept. 26, 1914 in Chicago and Eileen was born Sept. 29, 1920
in Altoona, Pa.
Survivors include one daughter, Ardeen (Jim) Harris of Antioch.

Thrall 'Hershey' J. Hershberger
Age 58 of Grayslake, passed away on Friday, Dec. 1, 2000 at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of Grayslake and had graduated from Grayslake
High School in 1960. He was with the Great Lakes Commissary where he worked
as a meat cutter for 20 years. He had also worked with the National TEA
groceries as a meat cutter for 20 years.
He leaves his wife, Karen (nee Hertz) whom he wed on Sept. 8, 1963;
daughter, Tammy L. Hershberger of Grayslake; son, Thrall T. (Kristin) Hershberger
of Park Falls, Wis. and special companions, Samantha and Silkie. He is
preceded in death by his parents, Thrall and Irene Hershberger.
Funeral Services were held at 6 p.m, Dec. 3, at Strang Funeral Chapel
and Crematorium Ltd., Grayslake with the Rev. John Holm of the Shepherd
of the Lakes Lutheran Church officiating.
Friends and family visited at the funeral home on Dec. 3 from 2 p.m.
until the time of the service.
Interment was at St. Cecilia Cemetery in Butternut, Wis.

Gladys J. McKie (nee Giese)
Age 77, a 58 year resident of Wheaton passed away Sunday, Dec. 3, 2000
at home. She was born in Geneva and raised in West Chicago. She was a member
of the Gary Memorial United Methodist Church of Wheaton, the Wheaton Gad-Abouts
and the Wheaton Garden Club. She was also an avid bridge player.
She is survived by her husband, William T. 'Sandy' Sr.; her son, William
T. Jr. (Patricia); her daughter, Laurie (Gene) Francis; grandchildren,
Michele (Erik) Helland, Amie McKie, Gene Jr. (Lori) Francis, Tamara (Gerald)
Cook and Ted (Lisa) Stay; her great grandchildren, Gunnar, Trevar and Austin;
her two sisters, Doris (Melvin) Taylor and Phyllis Mueller and a brother-in-law,
Don (Dolores) McKie.
Visitation of family and friends was Dec. 6 at Williams-Kampp Funeral

Benjamin Edward Tilton
Age 43 of Grayslake, formerly of Gurnee, passed away Tuesday, April
10, 2001 at the Clement J. Zablocki Veterans Administration Medical Center,
Milwaukee, Wis. He was born Nov. 26, 1957, the son of Robert and Margaret
(nee Stoddard) Tilton.
Surviving him are, a son, Robert Tilton; his mother, Joan Tilton of
Grayslake; one sister, Barbara (James) Stone of Austin, Tex.; a niece and
a nephew. His father preceded him in death in 1982.

Age 79 of Libertyville, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at his
home. He was born June 2, 1921 in Wauconda and had been a Libertyville
resident for the past 75 years. He was a 1939 graduate of Libertyville
High School and a U.S. Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Geri Maether and two daughters,
Marilyn (Alan) Copeland and Linda (Julius) Perez, all of Libertyville;
four grandchildren, and two sisters.
Visitation of family and friends was from 4-8 p.m. April 13 at the

Age 78 of Libertyville, passed away Monday, April 9, 2001 at her home.
She was born March 4, 1923 in Bloomington and had been a Libertyville resident
for the past 46 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Pamela Hall of Gurnee and Patricia Hart
of Lillington, NC; seven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She
is preceded in death by her husband Frank Whitson in 1985.

Harry D. Kut
Age 66 of Genoa City, Wis., passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at
his home. He was born Oct. 14, 1934 in Harvey, the son of the late Stanley
H. and Stella (Wajda) Kut. He moved to Antioch in 1970 and to Genoa City,
Wis. in 1991. Harry served in the U.S. Army and was a marine mechanic for
30 years. He also served as a policeman in Lake Villa and Antioch and for
the State of Illinois.
Survivors include a daughter, Kimberly S. Kut of Spring Grove; two
grandchildren, Andrew P. Garcia and Tiffanie J. Garcia and one great grandchild,
Cierra J. Midola, two brothers, Stanley and Robert and a sister, Marsha.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra
L. Garcia in 1979.

Age 89 of Round Lake Beach, formerly of Chicago, passed away April
10, 2001. She was born Dec. 10, 1911 in Chicago.

Age 60 of Gurnee, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2001 at Provena St.
Therese Medical Center, Waukegan. She was born Nov. 30, 1940 in Libertyville,

Age 87, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at the Morris View Nursing
Home in Morris Twp., following a long illness. She was born in Chicago
and lived in Fox River Grove, before moving to Succasunna eight years ago.
She was a homemaker. She worked for Motorola in Chicago and was a part-time
real estate agent. She was a member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church in
Succasunna, NJ and previously active in the Sayre's Mothers Chorus in Chicago.
She also volunteered and professionally taught crafts, knitting and crocheting.
She was formerly active with the Fox River Grove Senior Citizens Club in

Age 95 of Libertyville, passed away Easter Sunday, April 15, 2001 at
the Winchester House in Libertyville. She was born May 14, 1905 in Orange,

and two brothers. She is preceded in death by her first husband, James
Buckelew in 1955 and by her second husband Wallace Smith in 1996.

Born Aug. 6, 1914 in the family home on Long Lake, Mr. Janensch attended
Northwestern University before enlisting in the Air Force during World
War II. A squadron leader, he was awarded the Silver Star for action in

He resided in New York City for many years and was president of Woolmark
Corp., a textile manufacturer, before retiring in 1972. He was an avid
yachtsman in New York and Florida.
Surviving are his wife, the former Harriet Torberg of New York City;
his brother, Paul of Long Lake, and many nieces and nephews.
Age 70 of North Port, Fla. passed away Monday, April 16, 2001 at Sarasota
Memorial Hospital after a seven month illness. She was born June 14, 1930
in Vratare, near Krusevac, Serbia, Yugoslavia, the second of four daughters
of Borivoje and Milica Radojkovic. She had lived in Vratare before moving
to the U.S. in 1971.
Mrs. Todorovic was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother
whose family was the center of her life.
Family members include her husband of 50 years; Milivoje Todorovic
of North Port, Fla,; son, Dragoljub (Marija) Todorovich of Libertyville;
grandsons, many nieces, nephews and a sister.
Visitation was April 19 at the Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, Libertyville
where the Pomen Service was held at 7 p.m.
Prayers were held April 20 at the Funeral Home followed by Orthodox
Services at 11 a.m. at the Most Holy Mother of God Monastery, Third Lake
with Bishop Longin officiating.

Age 61 of Round Lake, passed away Tuesday, April 10, 2001 at Winchester
House in Libertyville. Born April 13, 1939 in Vintondale, Penn., the daughter
of the late Carl Gloski and Sarah Jane Cooke.
She leaves her daughters, Debra (Jerome) Loar of Ingleside, Rachel
(Kevin) VanPrice of Round Lake; son, John A. Adams III of Tucson, Ariz,
grand daughter, sister and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in
death by her husband, John Adams in June of 1991.
