David Lingo

David Patrick Lingo, 52, of Manteno, died Monday (Jan. 18, 1999) at his home.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. Wednesday until the 7 p.m. services at First Baptist Church of Manteno, where he was a member. The Rev. Ron Early will officiate.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Memorials may be made to the education fund for David and Nick Lingo.
Fedde-Helfrich Chapel, Peotone, was in charge of arrangements.
He was born Oct. 1, 1946 in Chicago, the son of Adam and Vivienne Lorden Thelen Lingo, who are deceased.
Mr. Lingo worked in industrial maintenance as a technician for 17 years at Yoshino America Corp.
He was a member of the zoning board of appeals for the Village of Manteno.
Surviving are his wife, the former Shirley Swinford, whom he married Sept. 3, 1968 in Kankakee; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Jason and Shelley Lingo, David Lingo and Nicholas Lingo, all of Manteno; one daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Kevin Walling of Manteno; his mother-in-law, Elwanda Swinford of Winchester, Tenn.; step-parents, Raymond Lorden of Frankfort and Solange Lingo; five brothers and two sisters-in-law, Wayne Lingo and John Lorden, both of Frankfort, Greg Lingo of Los Angeles, Calif., Michael and Angela Lorden of Nebraska, Gary and Debbie Lorden of Brookfield; five nieces and six nephews; one sister and brother-in-law, Kathleen and David Penrose of Plymouth, Ind.; sisters-in-law and spouses, Donna Hale of London, Ky., Linda and Jim Vincent of Fullerton, Calif., Manita and Bob Bartels of Orange, Calif. and Janice and Eddie Scheicher of Bradley and one expected grandchild. 
Also deceased are a sister, Corky Blogg; brother-in-law Douglas, Hale; and father-in-law, Frank Swinford.

Marcia Hoogstraat

PIPER CITY - Visitation for Marcia Lynne Hoogstraat, 33, of Gibson City, formerly of Piper City and Hopedale, will be from 5-8 p.m. today at the Reilly-Redenius Funeral Home in Piper City, and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the 11 a.m. services at the United Methodist Church, Piper City, where she was a member. The Rev. Dori Dana Hudson will officiate.
Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery, Cullom.
Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
Miss Hoogstraat died Sunday (Jan. 17, 1999) at Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis, from an illness of 1-1/2 hears.
She was born Aug. 3, 1965 in Fairbury, the daughter of John W. and Delores M. Telford Hoogstraat.
She was a graduate of Ford Central High School and Moraine Valley College, receiving a degree in medical records. She was working at Hopedale Medical Complex in Hopedale and Gibson City Community Hospital.
Surviving are her father and stepmother, John and Terry Fellers Hoogstraat of Piper City; one sister, Sheila Hoogstraat of Urbana; one brother, Dennis Hoogstraat of Piper City; one stepsister, Lori Rawcliffe of Pontiac; one stepbrother, Bob Donley of Chester; and stepgrandparents, Jake and Joan Fellers of Forrest.
Deceased are her mother and maternal and paternal grandparents.
She enjoyed sports and collecting teddy bears.

ST. ANNE - Printis Brooks, 80, of St. Anne, died Saturday (Jan. 16, 1999) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital.

Eddie Hodges, 50, of Kankakee, died Sunday (Jan. 17, 1999) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital.

Woodrow Hester

Visitation for Woodrow W. ''Woody'' Hester, 85, of Bradley, will be from 4-7 p.m. today at Hertz- Thoma Funeral Chapel, where services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday. The Rev. Stan Haxton will officiate.
Private burial will be in Kankakee Mem-orial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
Mr. Hester died Sunday (Jan. 17, 1999) at his residence.
He was born June 8, 1913 in Kankakee, the son of Porter and Rose Smith Hester.
Mr. Hester was a baker and cake decorator for 40 years at Meyers Bakery.
He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Bradley, where he served on the board of trustees, administration board, secretary of the building committee to build the new church.
He was a member of the local bowhunters club.
An artist, he was a member of the Kankakee Art League.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, the former Naomi Mitchell, whom he married Dec. 24, 1938; one son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Jennifer Hester of Vandalia; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are one son, Alan; four brothers, Percy, Bernard ''Pat,'' Lemore ''Bud'' and Leonard ''Duke;'' four sisters, Beulah, Goldie, Porta and Idabelle ''Babe.''
He enjoyed fishing and camping.

William Dedert

CRETE - William George Dedert, a resident of Olympia Fields, formerly a longtime resident of Crete, died Thursday (Jan. 14, 1999) at his home.
Services were at 11 a.m. Jan. 18 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Crete. The Rev. John Stellick officiated.
Burial was in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Crete.
Visitation was Jan. 17 at Hirsch Funeral Homes Spindler-Koelling Chapel in Crete.
He was born Dec. 18, 1925 in Chicago Heights. He was a 1942 graduate of Crete High School and a 1945 graduate of the Rose Hulman Institute of Technology, receiving an honorary doctorate in 1995.
Mr. Dedert was the founder of Dedert Corp., with sales and manufacturing offices in Olympia Fields, Holland and Germany.
Surviving are his wife, the former Marian Seehausen; one daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Scott Wilson of Crete; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Ann Wehling of Frankfort; a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Myla of Bethlehem, Pa., and five grandchildren.

Bessie Born

Bessie Born, 79, of Bradley, died today (Jan. 19, 1999) at Loyola Medical Center.
Visitation is scheduled for Thursday afternoon and evening at the Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday at St. Joseph Church, Bradley.

Dr. George Brodsky

Dr. George Danny ''Doc'' Brodsky, 47, of Glendale, Ariz., a former veterinarian in Bourbonnais, died Sunday (Jan. 17, 1999) at a hospice facility in Glendale, Ariz.
Cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Wildlife Medical Clinic located at the University of Illinois in Urbana.
He was born Aug. 3, 1951 in Chicago, the son of James and Rita Brodsky, who survive.
Also surviving are his wife, the former Jane Bankemper, whom he married Oct. 13, 1979; two daughters, Amy and Jennifer, and one son, James ''J.D.,'' all of Glendale; one sister and brother, Nancy Hix of Warrenville, Ill. and James H. Brodsky of New Buffalo, Mich.
Dr. Brodsky graduated in May of 1977 from the University of Illinois as a doctor of veterinary medicine. He worked for Dr. Shields of New Lenox, and in 1980, opened his own practice in Bourbonnais.
He owned and operated the Bourbonnais Animal Clinic until May of 1996, when he and his family moved to Arizona. He continued to practice veterinary medicine until December 1998.
He had a great passion for working with animals and he is credited for the outstanding emergency service he provided for his community. He not only appreciated the domestic pets, but also the wildlife which he often treated.
He enjoyed hiking and astronomy.
Dr. Brodsky was a licensed pilot.

Patricia Sellers

MOMENCE - Patricia A. Sellers, 66, of Momence, died Tuesday (Jan. 19, 1999) at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee.
Visitation will be from 3-5 and 7-9 Friday at the Cotter Funeral Home in Momence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Good shepherd Manor in Momence.

Bruno Ninis

Bruno J. Ninis, 79, of Kankakee, died Tuesday (Jan. 19, 1999) at his home.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Friday until the 1 p.m. services at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home, Bourbonnais.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kankakee.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
He was born Jan. 5, 1920 in Kankakee, the son of Charles K. and Elizabeth Lynch Ninis.
Surviving are his wife, the former Delores Rinkenberger, whom he married in Feburary, 1950 in Crown Point, Ind.; one daughter and son-in- law, Tammy and Richard Kupferer of Momence; and two grandchildren, Amber and Andy Kupferer.
Deceased are one brother, Charles Ninis; two sisters, Josephine Putnam and Cecelia Ninis and a daughter, Cheryl Ninis.
He was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
Mr. Ninis was an iron worker through the Kankakee Local.
He was a veteran of World War II, receiving many decorations. He was a member of the Bradley VFW.

Norma Prince

Norma Prince, 78, of Bradley, died Tuesday (Jan. 19, 1999).
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, with a wake service at 4 p.m. at the Kankakee Chapel of the Schreffler Funeral Homes.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday by the Rev. Richard Pighini at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Kankakee, where she was a member.
Burial will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley or to St. Pat's and St. Teresa Grade school.
Mrs. Prince was a beautician for 40 years.
She was born Nov. 25, 1920 in Kankakee, the daughter of Edwin and Sofia Zaro LaRoche.
Her husband, Frederick Prince, whom she married June 30, 1940 at St. Pat's, is deceased.
Surviving are two daughters, Joy and Myron Frasier of Indianapolis, Ind., and Cherie Curran of Bradley; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Elman and Skip LaRoche of Kankakee and Palmer LaRoche of Anaheim, Calif.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
A son-in-law, Patrick Curran is deceased.
She was a volunteer at St. Mary's and a member of the Book Review Club and the CCW at St. Pat's.

Prentiss Brooks

ST. ANNE - Visitation for Prentiss Brooks, 80, a resident of St. Anne for 14 years, will be from 10 a.m. Friday until the 11 a.m. services at Union Baptist Church, with Pastor Hicks officiating.
Burial will be in Momence Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Lax Mortuary, Kankakee.
Mr. Brooks died Saturday (Jan. 16, 1998) at Provena St. Mary's Hospital.
He was born June 14, 1918, in Greenville, Miss., the son of Monroe and Ella Johnson Brooks. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church of Hopkins Park.
Mr. Brooks worked as a foreman for the Brunner and Lay Tools and Die in Chicago, retiring after 40 years of service.
Surviving are his wife, the former Lena Gates, whom he married in 1945; three sons and daughters-in- law, Prentiss Jr. and Mary, Leroy and Barbara and Monroe and Linda Brooks and one daughter and son-in- law, Helen and Angelo Blanchard, all of Chicago; one sister, Ellen Woods of St. Anne; two sisters-in-law, Luella Harris of Lubbock, Texas, and Luvenia Friscon of Tulsa, Okla.; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Deceased are four brothers, Mackie ''Jack,'' Homer, Melvin, Nathaniel and Timothius; and two sisters, Mary and Virginia.
He enjoyed mechanics, fishing and hunting.

Beatrice Cooper

MOMENCE - Visitation for Beatrice Cooper, 74, of Momence, will be from 10 a.m. Saturday until the 11 a.m. services at Christian Hope M.B. Church, Hopkins Park. The Rev. Louis Barnes will officiate.
Cremation rites will be accorded.
Leggett Funeral Home, Hopkins Park, was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Cooper died Saturday (Jan. 16, 1999) at Riverside Medical Center.
She was born March 24, 1924 in Brownsville, Tenn., the daughter of James and Jessie Mae McPherson Cooper.
Ms. Cooper was a waitress at Town and Country Restaurant.
She on the mother's board at Christian Hope MB Church.
Surviving are one son, Willis Luckes of Chicago, and one daughter, Deborah (Maurice) Embery of St. Anne; one brother, John McPherson of St. Anne; eight grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers and one sister.
She enjoyed cooking and gardening.

Linnie Landingham

Linnie Landingham, 87, a 20-year resident of the Kankakee area, died Jan. 14, 1999.
Services were at 11:30 a.m. today at Carter Funeral Chapel, Chicago.
She was born Nov. 5, 1911 in Ebernezer, Miss., the daughter of Samuel and Carrie Pickens Whorton. Six brothers and two sisters are deceased. 
She attended Booker T. Washington College in Memphis, Tenn.
She was a member of the Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Ebernezer.
She married Samuel Cobbins who preceded her in death. Their sons, Donald and Sam Harry, also preceded her in death.
After moving to Chicago, Linnie united with the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. She married Jessie Landingham, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Ernestine and James Pious of Chicago; one daughter-in-law, Barbara of Chicago; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Rosa Hooker of Chicago, Everlena Butler of Washington, D.C. and Martha Mason of Detroit, Mich.; and nieces and nephews.

Gloria Wentworth

BEECHER - Gloria Joyce Wentworth, 63, of Beecher, died Tuesday (Jan. 19, 1999) at Vancor Hospital in Northlake.
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. Friday at Hack Funeral Home, Beecher, where services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Eric Tober will officiate.
Burial will be in Skyline Memorial Park, Monee.
She was born May 7, 1935 in Harvey, the daughter of Frank and Florence Warfield Beck.
Surviving are her husband, Paul Wentworth; two daughters, Cynthia of Glendale, Ariz. and Brenda of Steger; three brothers and sisters-in- law, Frank and Tina Beck of Crown Point, Phillip and Juanita Beck of Dyer, Ind. and Lawrence and Audrey Beck of Cedar Lake; five grandchildren.
Her son, Steven, died in 1994.
She was a member of the Beecher Community Church.

He was born May 28, 1926 in Watseka, the son of Ira and Nellie Smith Rutledge.
Surviving are two cousins, Dick Smith of Onarga and Morris Smith of Quincy.
He farmed for many years with his father.

Deceased are one son, Brett and one brother.
He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Blue Island VFW.
