Florence Di Bona
Florence R. Di Bona, nee Cocogliato, 89, formerly of Lombard, died Monday, Oct. 7, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, Oct. 9, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Villa Park, with the Rev. Robert Duda officiating. Entombment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Di Bona was the mother of Dominic P. (Evelyn), grandmother of three, sister of Mildred Nicholson and Lucille Capinigro, and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence; and brothers, Joe, Sammy, Jimmy, Benny and Johnny.
Mrs. Di Bona was a resident of Lombard for 40 years. She had retired in 1977 from Automatic Electric in Northlake after 26 years. She was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church.

Dorothy DiNola
Dorothy DiNola, nee Syron, 55, of Freeport, formerly of Villa Park, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, in Wisconsin.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 12, at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. DiNola was the wife of Mario, mother of David Wimberly, sister of Edward (Corinda), and aunt and great-aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Martin (Kathy) Syron.
Mrs. DiNola was a homemaker.
Arrangements were made by Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park.

Robin Hochstatter
Robin L. Hochstatter, 48, formerly of Villa Park, died Thursday, Oct. 10, in Elgin.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 12, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. Interment was at Plano Cemetery in Plano.
Mr. Hochstatter was the son of Rosave (Ken) Handy; brother of Henry (Joan) Hochstatter, Brett (Jennie) Hochstatter, Edie (John) Corbly and Deanie VonHolten; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hochstatter was employed in auto body work for an automotive company.

Doris Pizarro
Doris Pizarro, nee Ellis, 60, of Elmhurst, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 12, with prayers from Pedersen-Ryberg Mortuary, 435 N. York Road, Elmhurst, to Mass at Mary Queen of Heaven Church in Elmhurst. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Pizarro was the wife of Jose; mother of Samantha Jane (fiancé Mike Steder), Peggy (Ron) Hendry, Sonia (Thomas) Karr and Michael; grandmother of 12; great-grandmother of three; daughter of Anna Mae Ellis; sister of Thomas Ellis, Elmer Ellis, Betty O'Guinn, Linda Ellis, Judy Ellis and Debbie Worthen; and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Forrest Ellis; brother, Willard Ellis; and sister, Barbara Ellis.
Mrs. Pizarro was a homemaker.

Margaret Probst
Margaret L. Probst, nee Quitter, 51, of Lombard, formerly of Chicago, died Monday, Oct. 7, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 12, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Probst was the mother of Brian K. of Lombard, grandmother of one, daughter of LaVerne M., sister of Betty Quitter of Lombard and Edward J. of Lombard, and aunt and great-aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph M. Quitter.
Mrs. Probst was a resident of Lombard for seven years. She had worked at the Blue Plate Cafe restaurant in Lombard. 

Carol Robbins
Carol Anne Robbins, 67, of Lombard, died Thursday, Oct. 3, at Lexington Healthcare Center in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 5, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, with the Rev. David Price officiating. Interment was at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Ms. Robbins was the friend of many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Dorothy Robbins.
Ms. Robbins had been a resident of Lombard for most of her life. She attended Lincoln School, Glenbard West High School and graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in teaching. 
Ms. Robbins began teaching at Hammerschmidt Elementary School in September 1957, and while there, was instrumental in setting up the school library. She retired from teaching at the school in June 1992, after 35 years, and resided at Lexington Square of Lombard for the past 16 years.

Geraldine Schiassi
Geraldine M. "Geri" Schiassi, nee Hancock, 67, of Villa Park, died Saturday, Oct. 12, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Funeral services will be held today, Oct. 16, with prayers from Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., to Mass at St. John the Apostle Catholic Church in Villa Park. Interment is at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Schiassi was the wife of Luigi; mother of Nancy (Michael) Bingen, Helen (Michael) Knudtson and Anthony; grandmother of six; sister of Helen (Jim) King, Thomas (Colleen) Hancock and William "Rich" (Vivian) Hancock; and aunt and great-aunt of many nieces and nephews. 
Mrs. Schiassi was a homemaker.

Victor Shimanek
Victor J. Shimanek, 74, of Lombard, died Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 12, at St. Alexander Catholic Church in Villa Park. Interment was at Assumption Cemetery in Winfield.
Mr. Shimanek was the father of William (Kathy Nuzda), Nancy (Mark) Bauer, Ronald (Kathy) and David (Patricia); grandfather of eight; and brother of Jean (Tom) Quigley and Margaret (Paul) Marshall.
Mr. Shimanek was retired after working as a manager for a transportation company.

William Semple
William S. Semple, 62, of Villa Park, died Sunday, Oct. 6, in Pennsylvania.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 12, at Community Presbyterian Church in Lombard. Interment was at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mr. Semple was the husband of Patricia; father of Tara; stepfather of Stephanie Stevens of Villa Park, Melinda Stefanski and Corey Stefanski of Villa Park; father-in-law of Gail Stefanski of Villa Park; grandfather of four; brother of Lynn (George) Hagee; brother-in-law of Susan (Edwin) Ellison of Lombard; uncle of five nieces and nephews; and relative of many in Ireland.
Mr. Semple grew up in Elmhurst and was a 1958 graduate of York High School and Southern Illinois University. He was a veteran of the Vietnam era, having served in the U.S. Army. 
Mr. Semple was a past superintendent of the Elmhurst Park District from November 1973 through December 1976, and had worked as superintendent of the park district in St. Charles and in Schaumburg for two years. He was currently affiliated with Zenon Co. in Buffalo Grove, as a supplier of park and recreational equipment supplies. 
Mr. Semple was active in the Oceanwaves Square Dance Club and was vice president of the Metro Association of Square Dancers (MCASD), a member of MIPE, and an active member and trustee for eight years at Community Presbyterian Church in Lombard.
Memorials to the Community Presbyterian Church, 1111 E. Madison St., Lombard, IL 60148; the American Heart Association; or the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated.

Brian Wright
Brian A. Wright, 19, of Villa Park, died Sunday, Oct. 13, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. 
Visitation is today, Oct. 16, at Steuerle Funeral Home, 350 S. Ardmore Ave., Villa Park. 
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Oct. 17, with prayers from the funeral home to Mass at St. Alexander Catholic Church in Villa Park. Interment is private.
Brian was the son of Linda and Harold; boyfriend of Sharon Eliason; brother of Adam and Colin; grandson of Jack and Pat Willer; and nephew of Jeff Wright, Jennifer Hallet, Gary, Chuck and Julie Bach, and Vicki Gibbons. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Marie Bach.
Brian was an honor student at Willowbrook High School and graduated in 2001. He was currently a sophomore at Illinois Wesleyan College.

Ethyl Youngberg
Ethyl C. Youngberg, nee Curry, 87, of Lombard, died Wednesday, Oct. 9, at Lexington Healthcare Center in Lombard.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 12, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment was private.
Mrs. Youngberg was the mother of Clarence H. Jr. (Kathleen) and Robert W. (Darylene), grandmother of eight, great-grandmother of 14, sister of Edith Raines, and aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence H. Sr.; sister, Virginia Jones; and brothers, Charles Curry and Jack Curry.
Mrs. Youngberg was a resident of Lombard since 1947. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary #391 for over 50 years.

Robert Becker Jr.
Robert A. "Andy" Becker Jr., 45, of Lombard, formerly of Glen Ellyn, died Saturday, Nov. 30, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services will be held today, Dec. 4, at First Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn, with the Rev. Jerry Andrews officiating. Interment is private.
Mr. Becker was the father of Bailey and Bobby; former husband of Lori Becker; special friend of Kathy Davis; son of Robert A. (Mary Lou) Becker Sr.; brother of Jay (Robin), Polly (Doug) Kerkman and Nancy; stepbrother of Chris Richards, Paula (William) Chaussey and Jennifer (Charles) Kohut; and uncle of seven. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Becker.
Mr. Becker had been a 14-year resident of Lombard. He was a 1975 graduate of Glenbard West High School, where he was a Conference Wrestling Champion. He attended Ohio University on a wrestling scholarship.
Mr. Becker had worked as a sales representative for A-1 Air Compressor of Addison. He enjoyed gourmet cooking, sponsoring a summer pig roast, fishing, golf and water skiing.

Betty Caruso
Betty J. Caruso, nee Hones, 69, of Lombard, died Monday, Nov. 25, at home.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 30, at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Lombard. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mrs. Caruso was the wife of Donald E.; mother of Debra (James) Litza, Cindy (George) Caruso-Fuhrman, Donald Jr. (Jennifer), Joseph (Deborah), James F. (Judy), John K., Helen M., and Catherine M.; grandmother of 12; sister of Orton P. Jones Jr., John K. Jones and Susan Samargia; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Caruso had worked as a secretary for an industrial company.

Adrian Harbaugh
Adrian "C.J." L. Harbaugh, 60, of Villa Park, died Sunday, Dec. 1, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. 
Funeral services will be held today, Dec. 4, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
Mr. Harbaugh was the husband of Judy, son of Beulah of Villa Park, father of Monique, stepfather of Michael Nicoletti and Cindy (Michael) Mariotti, grandfather of four, brother-in-law of Jolene and Dennis Kennedy, and uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Herman.
Mr. Harbaugh was a resident of Brandywine in Villa Park since 1977. He was employed as a technical service technician for Smurfit-Stone Container Corp. in Carol Stream for 40 years. He was a former member of the St. Charles Jaycees.

Charlotte Kegerris
Charlotte A. Kegerris, 72, of Lombard, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Dec. 8, at Faith Lutheran Church in Geneva.
Mrs. Kegerris was the mother of Karen C. (David) Culver and Jeffrey C. (Pam), and grandmother of four. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Ronald D. 
Mrs. Kegerris had lived in Lombard for 47 years. She had worked as a real estate broker and salesperson for many years, including Maple, Roath and Reedy real estate offices. 
After retiring, Mrs. Kegerris remained involved in the Lombard Chamber of Commerce, serving in various leadership positions, most recently as a member of the Community Promotion and Tourism Committee. She was also active at her residence as a member of the Collin Court Condominium Association, holding the office of vice president. She was known to her many friends as a generous, warm-hearted benefactor to persons in need. 
Memorials to Faith Lutheran Church would be appreciated.

Donna Nolan
Donna J. Nolan, nee Holtz, 55, of Lombard, died Friday, Nov. 29, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 3, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, with the Rev. Arno Dennerlein officiating. Interment was at Assumption Cemetery in Winfield.
Mrs. Nolan was the wife of Paul, mother of Melissa of Lombard, sister of Carl (Karla) Holtz, and aunt of three. 
Mrs. Nolan had been a resident of Lombard for 23 years. She worked for Safeco Insurance in Hoffman Estates and had worked for American States Insurance in Carol Stream.
Memorials to the American Cancer Society, 999 N. Main St., Glen Ellyn, IL 60137 would be appreciated.

William Scheelk Sr.
William L. Scheelk Sr., 90, of Lombard, died Monday, Dec. 2, at home.
Funeral services and interment are private.
Mr. Scheelk was the father of Kathleen Pokryke, William L. Jr. (Patricia), Michael "Micky" (Linda) and Richard R. Sr. (Kathy); grandfather of 15; great-grandfather of 19; and brother of Helen Scheelk. He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen; and son-in-law, Eugene Pokryke.
Mr. Scheelk was retired after working as a plate maker for a printing company.

Ronald Van Tholen, 56, of Lombard, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 2, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Main St., Lombard, with the Rev. Nathan Elgersma of Lombard Christian Reformed Church officiating. Interment was at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Elmhurst. 
Mr. Van Tholen was the husband of Christine; father of Rhonda (Scott) Heabel, Stacey (Sean) Craft, Christopher (Leslie), Nicholas and Stephanie; grandfather of three; son of Margaret; son-in-law of Clara Prueske; brother of Peter (Winifred), Henry Jr. (Nancy), Robert (JoAnn), Kenneth (Linda), Grace (Robert) Dryden, Thomas (fiancee Val), Marge (James) Verlare, William, James (Beth) and George (Mary); brother-in-law of Alice; and uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry; father-in-law, Elmer Prueske; and brother, John.
Mr. Van Tholen had worked as a driver for Waste Management N.W., and was a member of Teamster's Local #731. 

William Volk
William Volk, 88, of Elmhurst, died Thursday, Nov. 28, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 3, at St. Alexander Catholic Church in Villa Park. Interment was at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.
Mr. Volk was the husband of Rita, father of Rosemary "Lindsay" (David) Gustin, grandfather of two, and brother of Edwin (Anita).
Mr. Volk was retired after working as a carpenter.

Bernice B. Weber, nee Heide, 73, of Lombard, died Thursday, Nov. 28, at home.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 2, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, with the Rev. Kim Wood officiating. Interment was at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
Mrs. Weber was the mother of Catherine (Andrew) Jugle, Cheryl Bancroft, Marcia (James) Madigan of Villa Park, Charles of Lombard and Nancy (David) Hibbeler of Villa Park; grandmother of 13; sister of Keith (Julie) Heide; and aunt of one. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. 
Mrs. Weber was born and raised in Lombard. She was a graduate of Glenbard West High School in 1947, and was a member of First Church of Lombard.

Damian Zanon
Damian Vincent Zanon, 21, died Friday, Nov. 29, in Naperville.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 3, with prayers from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at Christ the King Catholic Church in Lombard, with the Rev. John Smyth, Maryville Academy, Des Plaines, officiating. Interment was private.
Mr. Zanon was the son of Candace and Joseph Senese; grandson of Sadie Senese; brother of D.J. (Debbie), Joe and Vinnie Senese; nephew of William Babecki, Greg Babecki, Jeff (Julie) Babecki, Lucien Senese and Mary (Tim) Murphy; great-nephew of Rosemary Morgan; and uncle of Ryan Senese. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dominick Senese and William and Lorrayne Babecki.
Mr. Zanon attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, where he was a junior.
