Charles Chevillon
Charles F. Chevillon, 81, of Lombard, died Thursday, Feb. 17, at home.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, March 11, at the Community Presbyterian Church, Lombard.
Mr. Chevillon was the husband of Vivian, and brother of David.
Mr. Chevillon was a veteran of World War II, having served as a supply officer in Fort Richardson, AK. He earned the rank of chief warrant officer, and was awarded the Legion of Merit. He left Alaska in 1948, and lived in San Diego and St. Louis before moving to Lombard, where he lived for 37 years.
Mr. Chevillon was primarily known as the developer of the "Sip and Puff" quadriplegic wheelchair, and was manager of Aamed, Inc., Forest Park, for 20 years. He was president and director of MED, a group of dealers who developed new products to aid the handicapped.

William Gebel III
William "Billy" R. Gebel III, 20, of Lombard, died Saturday, Feb. 26, at Lombard.
Visitation will be held Thursday, March 2, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 3, at Lombard Gospel Chapel, Lombard, with Rev. Harry Williams officiating. Interment is private.
Mr. Gebel was the son of William Jr. and Donna Gebel, father of Kennedy Taylor Maas Gebel, grandson of Mary F. Gebel of Lombard, and brother of Kitty and Michelle. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, William Gebel Sr.
Mr. Gebel was a graduate of Glenbard East High School and worked as a carpet installer for Apostrophy Images.

Steve Karellas
Steve Karellas, 43, of Villa Park , died Saturday, Feb. 26.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Humes Funeral Home, 320 W. Lake St., Addison. Interment will be at Arlington Cemetery, Elmhurst.
Mr. Karellas was the father of Christina and Nicole; son of Peter and Mary Karellas; and brother of Lou (Lois), Rita (Ken) Knuth, Kathy Spelson, Georgia, Helen (Frank) Budzisz, Gus (Jeannie), and Christine (Harol) Logaras; dear friend of Debbie; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Arrangements were made by Scott-North Shore Chapels, 1104 Waukegan Road, Glenview.

Angelo Lazzara
Dr. Angelo J. Lazzara, 77, of Westmont, died Tuesday, Feb. 22, at home.
Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 25, at Notre Dame Church, Clarendon Hills. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
Dr. Lazzara was the husband of Mary Carmen; father of Lucille (Steven) Struckman, Jack (Bernadette), and Lydia (Raymond) Veselsky; grandfather of four; brother of Angeline (Valerio) Bellucci; and uncle of many nieces and nephews. 
Dr. Lazzara was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and worked as an optometrist for 43 years in Lombard, Chicago, and Villa Park. He was a member of the Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce in Lombard, and loved to play golf.
Memorials to Advocate Hospice, 205 W. Touhy Ave., Suite 225, Park Ridge, IL 60068 would be appreciated.

Arthur Prell
Arthur E. Prell, 92, of Bensenville, died Monday, Feb. 28, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 1, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 2, at Brust Funeral Home. Interment will be at Elm Lawn Cemetery, Elmhurst.
Mr. Prell was the father of Paul (JoAnn) and Dennis (Marian) of Lombard; grandfather of five; and great-grandfather of two. He was preceded in death by his wife, Irma.
Mr. Prell was a resident of Bensenville for the past three and a half years. He had retired from M&M Mars Candy Company, Inc. where he was a candy maker for 45 years.

Helen Schmidke
Helen C. Schmidke, nee Schultz, 84, of Lombard, died Monday, Feb. 28, at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst. 
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 2, with Mrs. Schmidke lying in state at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, until the time of the service at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lombard. Interment will be at Chapel Hill Gardens West, Oakbrook Terrace.
Mrs. Schmidke was the mother of Lois Geffe and William B. Jr.; grandmother of two, great-grandmother of one; and aunt and great-aunt of many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William B.; and nine brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Schmidke was a resident of Lombard since 1947. She was a member of the senior Bible class at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church as well as the Mary Martha Guild and the Ladies' Aid.

Valerie Schmitz
Valerie T. Schmitz, nee Chwalek, 85, of Villa Park, died Monday, Feb. 21, at home.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Feb. 24, with Mass at St. Alexander Catholic Church, Villa Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
Mrs. Schmitz was the mother of John E. (Rosemarie) and Helen V. (James) Chevrier, grandmother of one, great-grandmother of one, sister of Dolores (Joseph) Piekos, and aunt of several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Sr.; and sister, Eleanor (Frank) Kondor.
Mrs. Schmitz was a retired silk presser for a dry cleaning company, and a member of the Villa Park and York Township seniors groups.

Catherine Vogel
Catherine Vogel, nee Capone, 85, of Oak Brook, died Sunday, Feb. 20, at home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 22, at Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, with Rev. Bert DeJong of Elmhurst Christian Reformed Church officiating. Interment was private.
Mrs. Vogel was the mother of Barrett, Robert (Carol), and Carolynn (Jack) Van Namen; grandmother of six; great-grandmother of one; and sister of eight. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert.

Antoinette Boynansky
Antoinette J. Boynansky, nee Zigurski, 77, died Sunday, June 11, at Fairview Baptist Home in Downers Grove.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 13, with prayers from Knollcrest Funeral Home, 1500 S. Meyers Road, Lombard, to Mass at St. Mary of Gostyn Church, Downers Grove. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
Mrs. Boynansky was the mother of Donna (Charles) Golly, grandmother of three; sister of Lottie (Pete) Jasinski, and sister-in-law of Jean Zigurski. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; sisters, Mary Bonomini, and Stella Zigurski; brothers, Joseph, Edward, and John Zigurski; brother-in-law, Joseph Bonomini; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Zigurski.
Mrs. Boynansky was a homemaker and member of the St. Mary of Gostyn's Monday Night Rosary Group.

Richard Elmore
Richard Elmore, 57, of Mesa, Ariz., died Saturday, June 10, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove.
Funeral services and interment were private.
Mr. Elmore was the sister of Kay (Joseph) Goodfellow of Lombard, and Marianne (Jay) Brigham.

John Hayes
John J. "Jack" Hayes, 73, of Lombard, died Friday, June 16, at home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 20, with prayers from Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard, to Mass at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Lombard. Committal was at Elm Lawn Cemetery, Elmhurst.
Mr. Hayes was the husband of Jean; father of Linda (Bill) Wallace of Lombard, Christine (Emil) Zidek, John, Donna (Kevin) Thurow, Jim (Marilyn), Peggy, Patty, and Dan of Lombard; grandfather of 13, great-grandfather of two; and brother of Agnes "Billie" Hendricks, Irene "Peg" Carroll, and Dorothy Owen; and uncle of many. He was preceded in death by his parents, John T. and Irene; son, Thomas; and brother, James.
Mr. Hayes was a retired deputy chief of the Cook County Forest Probation Department after 44 years with Cook County government. He was a long-time member of the Stewart Club in Chicago, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II.

Robert Klemp Sr.
Robert George Klemp Sr., 70, of Villa Park died Friday, June 16, at home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 20, at St. Mary of Gostyn Church, Downers Grove. Interment was at Glen Oak Cemetery, Hillside.
Mr. Klemp was the husband of LaVerne; father of Robert Jr. (Kathleen), Keith T., Alan W. (Tracy), Mark J. (Cindy), and Brian E.; grandfather of 15; brother of Thomas (Renell) and Phyllis (William) Andro; brother-in-law of Eileen (Robert) Klobnak and Joseph (the late Geraldine) Boller; and uncle of several nieces and nephews. 
Mr. Klemp was a retired stereotyper for several major and local Chicago-area newspapers. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of VFW Post #15014.

Helen Pettee
Helen Pettee, 100, of Mountain View, Calif., formerly of Lombard, died Thursday, June 15, at home.
Funeral services are pending.
Mrs. Pettee was the mother of Antoinette Sherman, stepmother of Pamela Brewington, grandmother of one, stepgrandmother of two, and aunt and great-aunt of many. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank.
Mrs. Pettee had lived in Lombard for many years. Her love of baseball was obvious to all who knew her. She followed the Chicago Cubs her entire adult life. She also had a fondness for cats and an extensive collection of cat memorabilia.
Memorials to the Humane Society would be appreciated. 

Bernadine Ring
Bernadine C. Ring, nee Hoellen, 69, of Lampe, Mo., died Sunday, June 18, in Missouri.
Funeral services will held Saturday, June 24, at Brust Funeral Home, 135 S. Main St., Lombard. Interment will be at Mt. Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst.
Mrs. Ring was the wife of Karl A.; mother of Robert (Sue) of Lombard, Pete (Cindy), and Caryn (Bill) Lindbeck; grandmother of six; great-grandmother of two; sister of Ruth (Harvey) Grosch and Larry Hoellen; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Ring had worked as an operator for Ameritech in Lombard from 1962-93 and was an active member of Telephone Pioneers of America.

Anita Rode
Anita H. Rode, 92, of Grafton, Va., formerly of Villa Park, died Monday, June 12, in Virginia.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 17, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Villa Park, with Rev. Thomas Sanders officiating. Interment was at Elm Lawn Cemetery, Elmhurst. 
Mrs. Rode was the mother of Claus H. (Barbara), grandmother of two, and aunt of two. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert.
Mrs. Rode was a homemaker.

Theodore Stahl
Theodore J. Stahl, 85, of Lombard, died Friday, June 16, at home.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 20, at Community Presbyterian Church, Lombard, with Rev. Graham Hart officiating. Interment was at Mt. Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst. 
Mr. Stahl was the husband of LaVerne; father of Jeanne (Daniel) Eschenbrenner, Nancy (Mark) Smith, and Lynda; grandfather of five; and sister of Marjorie (Vernon) Neuhaus.
Mr. Stahl was a resident of Lombard since 1951, and retired in 1983 after 50 years with Commonwealth Edison Co. as an engineer. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of the Shriners Medinah Temple AAONMS of Chicago, the Medinah Temple Shrine Brass Band, the Chicago Lodge Council Chapter Consistory of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, the Lombard Masonic #1098, Commonwealth Edison American Legion Post 118, and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc.

Ruth Weinrich, nee Hanson, 87, of Lombard, formerly of Arlington Heights, died Saturday, June 17, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. 
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 20, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lombard, with Rev. Patrick Boomhower officiating. Interment was at Elm Lawn Cemetery, Elmhurst.
Mrs. Weinrich was the mother of Lois Mullen, Kathi (David) Elsner, and Christopher of Lombard; grandmother of three; and sister of Jeanette Pippenburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin; and sister, Gladys Nelson. 
Mrs. Weinrich had been a resident of Lombard for one year, and had resided in Arlington Heights for over 20 years.
