Mrs. Zabinski, 77, passed away Dec. 1 at her home. She was a Des Plaines resident for 50 years.
She was the wife of Edmund J. for 52 years; mother to Richard Hamilton, Randy (Jackie) Hamilton, Jan (Frances) Zabinski, Sharon (Bill) Moore, Sandra (Richard) Ferguson and Suzette (Steve) Dubs; sister to Bert (Ann) Petersen, the late Robert and Raymond (Maxine) Petersen; grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of nine.

A funeral service for Eleanor Kracalik, 87 (nee Martinson), of Des Plaines was held Dec. 4 in Oehler Funeral Home, Des Plaines. Burial followed in Chapel Hill Garden West.
A homemaker and a native of Melrose Park, she died Nov. 29 in Holy Family Health Center.
Widow of the late Henry Kracalik, she is survived by children, Martin of Des Plaines, Allen of Elk Grove Village, and David (Sewanee) of Vincent, Alabama; a brother, Norman (Theodora) Martinson of Lombard; grandchildren Juanita (Jack) Tucker and David (Vickie) Kracalik II; and great-grandchildren David Kracalik III and Angelica Tucker.

JOHN CIESLA
Of Niles
Services for John J. Ciesla, 87, of Niles, were held at St. Juliana Church in Chicago on Nov. 26. Interment was in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum.
Mr. Ciesla had been a machinist. He died Thursday, Nov. 22 at Lutheran General Hospital.
Mr. Ciesla was preceded in death by his wife Chirstine. Survivors include his daughter Marjory (Robert) Adrian; brother Walter (Ceila) Ciesla; grandsons Robert (Kara) Adrian and John (Cheryl) Adrian; and great-grandchildren Melissa, Kaitlyn, Kylie, Bobby and Ashley.

JOSEF GROSSMANN

Services for Josef Grossmann, 79, of Niles, were held at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home on Nov. 29. Burial was private.
Mr. Grossmann was born in Yugoslavia and was a World War II veteran. He had worked as a designer.
Survivors include his wife Marianne Grossmann; daughters Donna, Nancy and Pamela Grossmann; sisters- in-law Helen (Bob) Fritz, Terry Higgins and Marge (Louie) Saviano; many nieces and nephews; and his cat, Cassie.

MARIE L. MOOT
Long-time Park Ridge Resident
A memorial mass for Marie L. Moot nee Kluck, 82, will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Paul of the Cross Church, 140 S. Northwest Hwy, Park Ridge. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in River Grove.
Mrs. Moot was born on Oct. 17, 1919 in Dubuque, Iowa. She died on Dec. 1 in Kaseman Hospital, Albuquerque, New Mexico. THOMAS R. WILLIAMSON

A funeral mass for Thomas R. Williamson, 89, a Park Ridge resident, was celebrated Nov. 30 at Mary, Seat of Wisdom Church. Interment followed in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Niles.
Visitation was held at Nelson Funeral Home. He died Nov. 28 at Lutheran General Hospital.
Mr. Williamson is survived by his wife, Evelyn; his sons, Glenn, and James; and his grandchildren Kristal, Sean, and Michael.

PHILIP W. TONE
A prominent Chicago lawyer and judge
A funeral service for Philip W. Tone, 78, life-long Park Ridge resident, was held on Sunday, Dec. 2 at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home, Park Ridge. Visitation was held at the home prior to the service.
Mr. Tone was born on April 9, 1923 in Chicago and died on Nov. 28 at Manor Care Nursing Facility in Glenview from complications of Alzheimer's disease. He is survived by wife of 56 years, Gretchen nee Altfillisch and three children, all of whom became attorneys; sons, Michael (Marie "Bernie") and Jeffrey (Mary Hester-Tone) and his daughter, Susan Pierce (Gregory); nine grandchildren, Nat, Ethan, Alex, Hope, Lesley, Gregory, Hank and Tim. He was preceded in death by grandson, Jeffrey.
Judge Tone served as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army during World War II, in which he saw combat in France and Germany as a tank commander. Before joining the army, he graduated from Maine Township High School in Park Ridge, and from the University of Iowa, which he attended on a football scholarship. After the war he returned to the University of Iowa Law School, where he graduated in 1948 after being Editor-In-Chief of the Law Review and a member of Order of the Coif. After post-graduate work at Yale University, he served as law clerk for Justice Wiley Rutledge of the United States Supreme Court. Judge Tone was briefly with the law firm of Covington and Burling in Washington, D.C., after which he returned to Chicago in 1951 to join the law firm now known as Jenner & Block, where he remained until 1972, when President Nixon appointed him to the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. President Nixon elevated Judge Tone to the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in 1974, where he remained until 1980, when he returned to Jenner & Block as a senior partner. Judge Tone retired from the practice of law in 1997.
During his distinguished legal career, he served as special counsel to the National Commission on Causes and Prevention of Violence in 1968-69, Special Counsel to the Senate Subcommittee on investigating Billy Carter's dealings with Libyan government, and Chairman of the Illinois Supreme Court Rules Commission from 1968-72. In 1992, he traveled to Ethiopia on behalf of the Carter Presidential Center to advise the Ethiopian Transitional Government in conducting trials of persons accused of war crimes. Judge Tone was a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers, serving as President in 1988-89, and he was General Counsel to the United States Golf Association from 1988-1992.

A funeral service was held for Arlington Heights resident Carl A. Rhyan, 65, at Colonial Funeral Home Nov. 8. Interment followed at Acacia Park Cemetery, Chicago. Visitation was held Nov. 7 at the Colonial-Wojciechowski Funeral Home, Niles.
Mr. Rhyan died Nov. 4 at Brentwood North. He was the president of a warehouse and a member of City of Hope and the Illinois Trucking Association.
Mr. Rhyan is survived by his wife, Bea (nee Schladt); sons David (Vicki), and Roy (Darlene); grandchildren Jennifer, Alex, Jessica, Thomas, and Nicholas; and brother Robert (Kathy).

IRENE A. SZYDLO

A funeral service was held for Rolling Meadows resident Irene A. Szydlo (nee Cielcielski), 82, at St. Colette Church Nov. 9. Interment followed at St. Adalbert Cemetery. Visitation was held Nov. 8 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, Niles.
Mrs. Szydlo died Nov. 5 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center. She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Szydlo was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell; and is survived by her daughter, Christine; and her son, Mitchell.

MARIANNE V. SANCHEZ
of Park Ridge
A memorial service for Marianne V. Sanchez (nee Franzak), 71, will be held Dec. 7 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Episcopal Church, Park Ridge.
Mrs. Sanchez died Nov. 17 at her home in Park Ridge. A homemaker, she was married to the late William Sanchez. Mrs. Sanchez and her husband owned and operated Bill's Hobby and Collector Shop in Park Ridge. She was also a member of St. Mary Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Sanchez of Chicago and Catherine Whidden of Park Ridge; her brother, Arthur (Virginia) Franzak of Niles; her sister, Charlotte O'Brien of Palatine; and two granddaughters, Sarah and Rachel.
Interment will be private.

DONALD F. MICHAELS
Local Business Owner
Funeral services for Donald F. Michaels, 68, of Park Ridge were held on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at St. Paul of the Cross Church. Visitation was held at the Ryan-Parke Funeral Home, 120 S. Northwest Hwy., Park Ridge. He is buried at St. Adalbert Cemetery.
Mr. Michaels died Dec. 7 in his Park Ridge residence. He was an avid fisherman, the owner of a communications business, and a member of the Park Ridge VFW.
He is survived by wife, Carol; children, Terry (Steven) Southwick, and Scott (Diane) Michaels; grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, Christopher and Collin Southwick; Kayla and Shannon Michaels. He was preceded in death by his brother, Norbert (Shirley) Michaels.

ANNABEL M. WOLF

A private funeral service was held for Annabel M. Wolf (nee Scheskie), 79, a Des Plaines homemaker.
A native of Chicago, Mrs. Wolf died Dec. 12 in Holy Family Health Center in Des Plaines. She was born on Feb. 29, 1922.
Husband Leonard W. Wolf preceded Mrs. Wolf in death. She is survived by her sons, Lee, and Gary (Jeanne); daughter Donna (Royal) Ward; brother James (Beverly) Scheskie; grandchildren Laura (Tim) McDowell, Courtney (John) Silence, Kelsey, and Kyle Wolf; and great-grandchild Austin McDowell.

BERNARD F. COLEMAN

A funeral mass for Bernard F. Coleman, 73, was celebrated on Monday, Dec. 15 at St. Joseph Ukrainian Catholic Church. Visitation was held Dec. 14 at Nelson Funeral Home in Park Ridge. Interment occurred in All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines. He died Dec. 10 at Glenbrook Hospital.
Mr. Coleman was a lover of people, beaches, boating and football. He was a past commander of American Legion Post #688 and state commander of the Catholic War Veterans Post #188. Mr. Coleman earned his Masters in financial services from Loyola University.
Mr. Coleman was preceded in death by his wife, Ada Frances; and his sister, Alanna Murphy; he is survived by his children, Mary Jo Patterson, Edward (Karen), Terence, and Christopher (Suzanne); grandchildren Kevin, Nichole, Joshua, Victoria, Sean, Rachel, Eric, and Abigail; and siblings Cathy Bandurski, Marijo Basic, and Pat Coleman.

LEONARD ZIELINSKI

A memorial mass for Leonard Zielinski, 84, of Niles, was held Saturday, Dec. 8 at St. John Brebeuf Church. Mr. Zielinski died Dec. 5 at Lutheran General Hospital.
Mr. Zielinski had been an Army Veteran from World War II and had worked for the state of Illinois unemployment department.
Survivors include his wife, Lorraine; son Philip (Sheila) Zielinski; daughters Ellen (Richard) Finkley and Mary (David) Winslow; grandchildren Paul and Will Zielinski, Martha Finkley, and Lauren and David Winslow Dr.; and a brother Raymond (Mildred).

MARILYN RYAN

A memorial mass at St. Emily Church in Mt. Prospect was celebrated Saturday, Dec. 15 for Marilyn Ryan, 71, formerly of Des Plaines.
Mrs. Ryan died Monday, Dec. 10 in Chicago. Interment was private. Mrs. Ryan was preceded in death by her husband Martin. She is survived by her children Terri (John) Prentice, Linda (Spiros) Mathios, Martin Ryan Jr. and Laura (Ken) Hagen; and grandchildren John Jr. (Marilyn), Christy (Les), Dan, Kallie, Dana, Derek and Ryan.

SELMA LOUISE HENDERSON
Acrobat and Dancer
A funeral service for Selma Louise Henderson nee McNamara, 82, of Bartlett formerly of Des Plaines, was held on Sunday, Dec. 16 at the Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Visitation was held prior to the service on Sunday at the funeral home. She was buried in Acacia Park Cemetery in Chicago.
Mrs. Henderson was born on April 11, 1919 in Brooklyn New York. She died on Thursday, Dec. 13 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village. She is survived by daughter, Selma (Bertie) O¹Brien; dear friends, Judy Kremer and Milka Kleiner; granddaughter, Judith S. (Brian) Oman and great-grandchildren, Mitchell and Jillian Grothe, Brilee and Dillon Oman. She was preceded in death by husband, Dale Henderson.
Mrs. Henderson was in show business most of her life as an acrobat and dancer. She appeared in two movies-Jumpin Jive and Inciderery Blonde. She toured the United States and South America and she later worked for Little Fuse.

EDWARD S. GREGOR

A memorial mass for Edward S. Gregor, 72, of Mt. Prospect, was celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 15 at St. Alphonsus Liguori Church in Prospect Heights. Memorial Visitation was held at Matz Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect on Friday, Dec. 14. Interment was private.
Mr. Gregor was born on Oct. 13, 1929 in Scrantou, PA and he died on Sunday, Dec. 9 at his home.
Mr. Gregor was an Army veteran who served in the Korean Conflict. He had a distinguished sales career.
He is survived by wife, Joan nee Amato; children, Luanne (Patrick) Sweeney, Scot (Christine) Gregor, Cindy Lou (Darrin) Bosman; grandchildren, Sean, Lindsay, Evan and Mitchell; brother, Bernard. He was preceded in death by his son, David (Elaine) Gregor.

Mrs. Kobos was born in Chicago on June 24, 1928 and died in Lutheran General Hospital, Park Ridge on Thursday, Dec. 6.
She was survived by husband, Frederick J. Kobos; daughter, Linda Adler; son, Frederick (Suzanne) J. Kobos Jr.; grandchildren, Scott and Michael Adler and great-grandchildren, Richard, Jacqueline and Christine. She was preceded in death by father, Paul Artman and mother, Elizabeth J. Artman.

Mrs. Naughton, a longtime resident of Park Ridge and active member of St. Paul of the Cross Church, died Dec. 11 at Lutheran General Hospital. Born in Galesburg, IL, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Naughton is survived by her husband, Erin; daughter, Nancy (Lincoln Lewis Jr.) Naughton; and brother, Donald (Phyllis) Rockwell.

FRANCIS P. CAHILL

Mr. Cahill, a longtime resident of Park Ridge, died Dec. 11 at Alexian Brothers Hospital, Elk Grove Village, IL. Born in Chicago, IL, in 1928, he was an iron worker.
Mr. Cahill is survived by his brother, Thomas Cahill. He was preceded in death by his brothers John, James, and Bob Cahill; and his sisters Mary Ellen Cahill, Rita Fischer, Noreen Sapieka, and Theresa Lyons.

Mr. Karkowski, a resident of Park Ridge, died Dec. 15 at Regency Nursing Home, Niles. Born in Poland in 1913, he was a machinist.
Mr. Karkowski is survived by his son, Henry (Sandy) Karkowski; and grandchildren, Kathryn, and Rebecca Karkowski.
