Eloise Stillwell, 96, Largo, Fla., died Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at
Sun Coast Hospital in Largo.
She was born March 17, 1905, at Carthage, Ill., the daughter of John
and Elizabeth Teckmeyer Edgar. She married George Stillwell. He preceded
her in death in 1970.
She was a longtime resident of Chicago during her working years. After
her husband's death, she retired and moved to Florida.
She is survived by three nephews and two nieces.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister-in-law.
There will be no visitation. Graveside services and burial will be
held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 17, at Oakland Cemetery, Keokuk, with Rev.
Bill Olmsted officiating.

Aletha M. (Stiles) Beaumont, 89, Weslaco, Texas, died Wednesday, Jan.
16, 2002, at the Med Center of John Knox Village in Weslaco.
She had been a resident of Weslaco since 1980. Prior to that she had
lived in Nisswa, Minn., Fort Madison and was a native of Chillicothe, Ill.
She is survived by one sister, Inez M. Gunderson, Glenwood, Minn.;
one niece; and two grand nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one son.
Her body has been cremated and laid to rest with her husband and son
on South Padre Island, Texas.

Dr. Harry D. Harper Jr., Sacramento, Calif., formerly of Fort Madison
and Keokuk, died Thursday, May 18, 2000, at his home.

Wanda Mae Shumate Sweezer, 80, Carthage, Ill., died at 1:43 p.m., Wednesday,
May 31, 2000, at the Hancock County Nursing Home in Carthage.
She was born Aug. 22, 1919, at LaHarpe, Ill., the daughter of Claude
and Goldie Brimm Thatcher. She first married Myron Shumate and later, she
married James Sweezer.
She had formerly lived in Niota, Ill., Fort Madison and in Modesto,
Calif. from 1987 until 1993. She and her mother had operated the Igloo
Restaurant and the Alley Inn, both in Carthage. She had also worked at
Smith's Cafe, Carthage and at Sheaffer Pen Company, Fort Madison. She was
a former member of the Moose Lodge in Carthage.
She is survived by two sons, Charles M. Shumate, Olney, Ill. and Michael
Shumate, Hamilton, Ill.; six grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
Friends may call after 2 p.m., Friday, June 2, at Banks and Beals Funeral
Home, LaHarpe, Ill., where the family will meet with friends from 7 to
8:30 p.m. Graveside services and burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday,
June 3, at LaHarpe Cemetery, LaHarpe, Ill.
A memorial fund has been established for the American Cancer Society.

Addie Eva (Mork) Knapp, 88, died Thursday, April 12, 2001, at River
Hills Village in Keokuk.
She was born April 28, 1912 in Forest Grove, Ore., the daughter of
Edward and Eliza Josephine Thrower King. She married Anthony G. Mork, July
14, 1928, at Hillsboro, Ore. He preceded her in death June 14, 1980. She
married Mr. Knapp in the fall of 1985. He preceded her in death in the
spring of 1986.
She had been employed at the Mendocino State Hospital, Ukiah, Calif.,
retiring in 1978. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Thatcher,
Ore. She loved to travel and enjoyed painting flowers and animals.
She is survived by two daughters, Eva Mott, Apache Junction, Ariz.
and Mrs. Scott (Rose Marie) DePew, Keokuk; two sons, Lawrence Mork, Anderson,
Calif. and Ralph Mork (wife Janet), Kailua-Kona, Hawaii; 10 grandchildren;
21 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
The family met with friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, April 15, at
Vigen Memorial Home, Keokuk. A private family service followed. Burial
will be in Ukiah, Calif.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Keokuk.
Ina Maude Anderson, 89, Rome, died Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2001, at the
Fort Madison Health Center in Fort Madison.
She was born March 16, 1912, north of Rome, the daughter of Peter and
Fanny Engsminger. She married Willis Anderson, Aug. 2, 1930, at Mount Pleasant.
He preceded her in death in 1972.
She had lived in Henry County all of her life and was employed by the
State Mental Hospital in Mount Pleasant for 17 years, retiring in 1979.
Her hobbies included quilting, gardening and canning, crocheting and making
Afghans for each new grandchild. She also enjoyed her rose garden and took
great pride in her cooking, preparing wonderful meals and cherished holiday
get-togethers with her family.
She is survived by two sons, Leonard (wife Phyllis), Fort Madison and
Ron, Sacramento, Calif. ; 13 grandchildren; two step grandchildren; 26
great grandchildren; two step great granddaughters; six great great grandchildren;
her long time neighbor; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one
son, one sister, five brothers, two grandsons and one great grandson.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 26, at Beatty
Funeral Home, Mount Pleasant. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m.,
Monday, Aug. 27, at the funeral home, with Deacon Guy Sammons officiating.
Burial will be in Grant Cemetery, north of Rome.
A memorial has been established in her memory.
