Edward Reddish 
         Edward Reddish, 78, died Wednesday, June 20, 2001, at home. He was a lifelong resident of Long County. He was a former electrician, and was a retired mechanic with the U. S. Civil Service. He was a Baptist.
         He is survived by three sons: Gene Reddish, Hugh Reddish, and Charles Reddish, all of Ludowici, Georgia; two daughters, Norma Howell and Henrietta Hudson, both of Valdosta, Georgia; two brothers, Slater Reddish of Pensacola, Florida, and Luther Reddish of Ludowici; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
         Funeral services were held Saturday, June 23, at 3 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Oscar Rowe, Jr., and the Rev. Irvin Poole. Interment followed in Pigot Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.
         Active pallbearers were Buck Reddish, Mike Reddish, Jay Blocker, Robert Long, Richard Long, and Junior Clark.
         Honorary pallbearers were Derrell Reddish, Garnold Blocker, Wright Blocker, H. D. Bowen, L. C. Blocker, C. J. Sikes, Thurman Johnson, Cecil Long, and Harold Manning.
         Cobb Funeral Home of Glennville, Georgia, was in charge of the arrangements. 

Carl J. Bowen 
         Carl J. Bowen, 47, died Monday, June 25, 2001. He was a native of Atlanta and moved to Glennville in 1972. He attended West Georgia College and was a retired Fort Stewart Civil Service worker. He was a Baptist.
         Survivors are his mother, Thelma Groover Bowen of Glennville; a son, Kristopher J. Bowen of Augusta; two step-daughters, Dusty Smith Wallace of Metter and Jami Smith of Claxton; and a sister, Jane B. Brinckerhoff of Windermere, Florida.
         Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 27, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel.
         Graveside services will be held Thursday, June 28, at 3 p.m. at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta.
         In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Symrna Baptist Church Building Fund or a charity of your choice.

Marion Blankinship 
         Marion Tootle Blankinship, 88, a Tattnall County native and a long-time Reidsville resident, died Tuesday, June 26, 2001, at The Hospice Atlanta Center in Atlanta, Georgia, following a two-year battle with cancer. She had been a resident of Delmar Gardens Retirement Community, Smyrna, Georgia, since 1985, serving for many years as a member of the Resident Council and the community's goodwill ambassador.
         She entered Georgia Teachers' College, now Georgia Southern University (GSU), just as the Great Depression began. She started her career as a classroom teacher approximately 12 months later. She continued her education and was a 1953 GSU graduate. She retired in 1977, having taught history and social studies in Tattnall, Liberty, and Evans County Schools for 43 years. 
         During the many years she lived in Reidsville, she was a faithful and active member of the Reidsville United Methodist Church. She served as a member of the Administrative Board, Assistant Sunday School Superintendent, officer and member of the Wesleyan Service Guild, the Tommy Thompson Sunday School Class, and Adult Leader for Methodist Youth Fellowship (MYF). She was a member of the Old Shiloh Cemetery Association; the Reidsville Grand Rascalettes; and a past member of the Tattnall County Historical Society. She had been an active member of the Tattnall County Association of Retired Teachers and Delta Kappa Gamma, an honorary teaching sorority.
         She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Theo and Addie Tootle, and brothers, Harold and Leslie Tootle.
         She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William M. and Katherine J. Blankinship of Atlanta; grandchildren C. Brandon Blankinship and Lissa J. Blankinship of Roswell, Georgia, and Jon A. Blankinship of New York, New York; sisters-in-law Lillie C. Tootle of Merritt Island, Florida, and Mary S. Tootle of Reidsville; and eight nieces and nephews.
         Family visitation will be Wednesday, June 27, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at McCall Funeral Home, 124 Jordan Street, Reidsville, Georgia.
         Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 28, at 2 p.m. at Reidsville United Methodist Church. The Rev. Joan Pritcher, Episcopal Church of the Atonement, Atlanta, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Marshall Singletary. Interment will follow in Reidsville City Cemetery.
         Nephews will serve as active pallbearers: James H. Tootle of Merritt Island, Florida; C. Theo Tootle of Marietta; William C. Tootle of Commerce; W. Ray Tootle of Metter; Marcus L. Tootle of Pooler; and George L. Krietemeyer of Dothan, Alabama.
         Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Reidsville United Methodist Church's Tommy Thompson Sunday School Class, the Tattnall County Retired Teachers' Association, and the Reidsville Grand Rascalettes.

Harold D. Dasher 
      Harold D. Dasher, 78, died Wednesday, October 17, 2001, at his residence under the care of Pearls of Life Hospice. He was a lifelong resident of Tattnall County. He was owner of Dasher and Son Construction Company, and formerly owned Dasher Building Supply. He was a member of the Vidalia Sweet Onion Association, and a World War II veteran.
      He is survived by his wife, Miriam Dasher of Glennville, Georgia; three daughters and two sons-in-law: Kay and Bob Connell of Rome; Melba Gardner of Savannah; and Sandra and Lee Howard of Glennville; one son and daughter-in-law, Hal and Renna Dasher of Glennville; one sister, Irene Durrence of Claxton; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
      Funeral services were held Friday, October 19, at 3 p.m. at Love's Chapel Primitive Baptist Church, with Elder W. H. Durrence officiating. Burial was in Glennville City Cemetery.
      Pallbearers were Wayne Durrence, Michael Dasher, Edward Dasher, Ronnie Dasher, Dane Dasher, Terry Dasher, Gene Dasher, and Bill Causey.

Ruth E. Eaby 
      Ruth E. Eaby, 88, died Sunday, October 21, 2001, at Evans Memorial Hospital in Claxton, Georgia. The Delaware native had lived in Glennville, Georgia, for the past ten years. She was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church.
      She is survived by her husband, Eugene Eaby of Glennville; one daughter, Ruth Peacock of Glennville; four sons and daughters-in-law: Eugene Eaby, Jr., and Nancy Eaby of Joppa Towne, Maryland; Curtis and Joyce Eaby of Maggie Valley, North Carolina; Robert and Kathy Eaby of La Plata, Maryland; and Alan and Judy Eaby of Ormond Beach, Florida; one sister, Anna Martelli of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
      Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 25, at 11 a.m. at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, with the Rev. Scott Mancel officiating. Interment will follow at Glennville Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
      Visitation will be Wednesday, October 24, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home in Glennville.
      Remembrances can be made to the Methodist Children's Home in Macon, Georgia.

Velma B. Love-Faircloth 
     Velma B. Love-Faircloth, 75, died Saturday, October 20, 2001, at Hospice in Savannah, Georgia, after a brief illness. The Tattnall County native was a member of Glennville First Baptist Church, and was a child care provider for 20 years.
      She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Sally and Steve Browning of Savannah; two sons and daughters-in-law, Victor and Jon Ann Love of Claxton, Georgia, and Keith and Leslie Love of Glennville, Georgia; a sister, Edna Cornell of Savannah; a brother and sister-in-law, Nollie and Earlene Holland of Statesboro, Georgia; seven grandchildren: Angell Beach, Lani Love, Russell Love, Elizabeth Love, Glynn Stivender, Kelly Stivender, and Rebecca Stivender; and several cousins.
      Funeral services were held Monday, October 22, at 2 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Keith Rustin. Burial was in Glennville City Cemetery.
      Pallbearers were Henry O'Neal, Brian Nall, Paul Dutton, Jessie Durrence, Jimmy Durrence, and Bobby O'Neal.

Marion Gladys Lewis
     Miss Marion Gladys Lewis, 93, died Saturday, October 21, 2000, at Glenvue Nursing Home in Glennville, Georgia, after a long illness. The lifelong resident of Glennville was a member of Glennville United Methodist Church.
     She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
     Private funeral services were held Sunday, October 22, at Ebenezer Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Keith Rustin.

Jennifer Rush Crawford, 25
Jennifer Rush Crawford, 25, died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at The Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. The Tattnall County native had lived in Florida for the past four years, returning to Georgia recently. She was a member of Elza Baptist Church and a waitress.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Jody Rush.
She is survived by her daughters, Katlyn Crawford and Sarah Crawford of Bradenton, FL; parents, Joe and June Rush of Reidsville; sister, Joy Barlow of Grovetown; maternal grandmother, Ann Bowen of Reidsville; paternal grandmother, Kate Rush of Glennville; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 13 at 3:00 p.m. at Elza Baptist Church with Billy Collins and Rev. Joe Eason officiating. Burial followed in Love’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers were cousins.

Joye Edmonds Knight, 93
Joye Edmonds Knight, 93, died Thursday, April 11, 2002. 
Born November 8, 1908, in Toccoa, Georgia, she was a daughter of the Late Nelson and Annie Busha Edmonds and lived in Toccoa until 1960. She was a homemaker and member of Harmony United Methodist Church in Glennville. She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston W. Knight, brothers William and Sanford Edmonds, and a sister, Ada Edmonds Honea, all of Toccoa.
She is survived by her nephews, William B. and Virginia Edmonds of Gainesville, Dale Honea of Atlanta, and John Edmonds of Toccoa; nieces, Mary Ann and Don Lisenbee of Savannah and Jan and Jerry Gailey of Gainesville; two great nieces, Caroline McMillan of Statesboro and Suzanne Coyle of Triangle, Virginia; two great-great nieces, Chandler McMillian and Madison Coyle; one great-great nephew, Colton McMillan; a sister-in-law, Wilma Edmonds of Toccoa; and several cousins including David Carter of Surrency.
Funeral services were held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, with Rev. James M. Holland officiating. Burial was in Bethel Methodist Cemetery in Appling County.
Pallbearers were Edward Driggers, Pete Blocker, J.B. Durrence, Princeton Pirkle, Avon Ray, and Jerry W. Burkhalter.

Hughes W. Thompson, 82
Hughes W. Thompson, 82, died Wednesday, July 17, 2002, at Brian Center Inn on St. Simon’s Island. The Tattnall County native was a graduate of Glennville High School and a veteran of WWII serving as an army pilot. He was a former owner of a Hardware and Appliance Store in Glennville for 30 years and a member of the Glennville United Methodist Church. An avid fisherman, after his retirement, he moved to Shellman’s Bluff.
He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Angelynne and Ed Tracy of Charleston, SC; one son and daughter-in-law, Hughes and Ann Thompson of Marietta; and three grandsons, Tripp Tracy and Andrew Tracy of Charleston, SC, and William Thompson of Marietta.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 20 at 11:00 a.m. at Cobb Funeral Home, Glennville Chapel, with Rev. Steve Posey and Bro. Robert Kicklighter officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Carmel Cemetery. 
Pallbearers were Mike Lamb, Reggie Thompson, Dorsey Thompson, Wayne Tatum, Bob McLendon, and Eddie Rogers.
Honorary Pallbearers were Joe Brown, Roy Osbourne, and Herbert Mobley.
Cobb Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Carol Ann Marion, 49
Carol Ann Marion, 49, died Friday, July 19, 2002. The Greene County, Tennessee, native moved to Tattnall County 10 years ago. 
She is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Jim Tootle of Reidsville, and a niece and nephew, Erika and Jeremiah Tootle of Reidsville.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 24 at 11 a.m. at New Lebanon Baptist Church in Greeneville, Tennessee. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Pat Demas, Jr., 79
Pat Demas, Jr., 79, of Savannah died Saturday, July 20, 2002, at Candler Hospital.
He was born in Pennsylvania and had lived in Savannah for many years.
Mr. Demas was a veteran of WWII having served in the US Army Air Corps. He was a member of the American Legion post #184 and the Mighty Eighth Air Force Heritage Museum. He was a Communicant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and retired from the American General Life & Accident Insurance Company.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Amy Boyette Demas of Savannah; two brothers-in-law, Fred F. and Mary Lou Boyette of Bloomingdale, James H. and Virginia Boyette of Collins; a sister-in-law, Irene B. Lynn of Savannah; and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial was held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 23 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
Burial followed in The Catholic Cemetery.

Lisa Nelson-Mendoza, 40
Lisa Nelson-Mendoza, 40, of Marshalltown, IA, died Sunday, July 14, 2002, at Grandview Heights Care Center, Marshalltown, IA.
Lisa Hope was born Feburary 18, 1962, in Reidsville, GA, the daughter of Thomas and Sandra Nell (Merritt) Klucney. Lisa grew up in the Reidsville area where she attended school. She moved to Marshalltown in 1982. She completed her education at Marshalltown Community College. She was last employed by Hollingsworth Manufacturing and had also worked at White’s Greenhouse. Due to her failing health, she moved into Grandview Heights Care Center in September of 2001. She was a member of New Hope Christian Church and the support group of the American Cancer Society.
She is survived by her daughter, Danielle (Mrs. Oscar) Resendiz, Marshalltown, IA; a son, Carl E. Nelson, Marshalltown, IA; one grandson, Oscar Resendiz; her mother, Sandra Arnold, Reidsville, GA; her father, Tom Klucney, WI; two sisters, Marie Arnold, Savannah, GA, and Shirley Arnold, Reidsville, GA; four brothers, Gerrel Arnold, Claxton, GA, James McGlashan, Metter, GA, Ernest McGlashan, Cobbtown, GA, and Bobby Lee Arnold, Reidsville, GA; and special friends, Max and Mickey Nelson, Sr., Marshalltown, IA, Carla and Jon Zillmer, Monticello, MN, and Max Nelson, Jr., Marshalltown, IA.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Lee Arnold, and a brother, Lloyd McGlashan.
Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 19 at New Hope Christian Church with Rev. Kerry Jech, of New Hope Christian Church, officiating.
