Jacqueline B. Godwin
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 6100 Memorial Highway, Tampa. Graveside services will follow at Lake Carroll Cemetery. Mrs. Godwin was born in Chattanooga, Tenn. and moved to Jacksonville, Fla. when she was eight years old. She graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville and attended college at University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Mrs. Godwin and her family moved to Tampa from Albany, Ga. in 1975. She was an active member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and was treasurer of TBMP, Inc. Survivors include her husband, Byron K. Godwin Jr. and children, Kathy Perkins and husband Vance Perkins of Columbus, Ga., Dru Thomason and husband Danny Thomason of Tampa, Kerry Godwin and wife Meryl Godwin of Maitland, Fla., Gail Mundt and husband Randy Mundt of Evergreen, Colo., and Sandra Robb and husband Mitch Robb of Tampa. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren. Visitation will be today from 6 p.m.- 8 p.m. at Mark III Funeral Home in Town n Country, 7701 W. Hillsborough Avenue. Lee Johnson Hanson
The funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Kimbrell-Stern with interment in Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Beckum and the Rev. Thad Haygood will officiate. A native of Cuthbert, Mrs. Hanson had lived in Albany since 1935, and was retired from Albany Food Brokerage. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Eleanor Hawk Sunday School Class. Her husband was the late Edgar Waite Hanson who died February 18, 2000. Survivors include two sons and daughter-in-laws, Hans A. Hanson and wife Pat and Edgar C. (Buddy) Hanson and wife Glenda; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A native of Culloden, Ga., Mr. Hayes had lived in Albany since 1949, where he retired from the Dougherty County School System in 1985 after serving thirty years. He attended Harvest Temple Church of God. Survivors include his daughter, Carolyn Mills and son-in-law, John Mills of Cordele; daughter, Fay Hatcher of Albany; a grandchild, four great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Jenkins was a member of Second Bethesda Baptist Church. A native of Baker County, Mrs. Singleton was a member of First Albany Deliverance Cathedral. She served as pastor of First Doerun Holiness Deliverance Church from 1985 to 1999. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 9, 2001, at Royal Palm Funeral Home in West Palm Beach, Fla., with interment to follow in Royal Palm Memorial Gardens in West Palm Beach, Fla. A native of Havana, Cuba, Mrs. Vidal had lived in Albany for about two months. She was a former resident of 533 Collins Ave., Miami, Fla. A native of Mystic, Miss Pierce moved back to Ocilla after retiring from teaching. She had taught school in Mystic, Hazelhurst, Nashville, Columbus, Ga., and Orlando, Fla. She was named Teacher of the Year while in Columbus, Ga. She was a graduate of Andrews College in Cuthbert, Ga., Ga. State College for Women, Milledgeville and received her masters degree from Auburn University. She was a member of Irwinville United Methodist Church in Irwinville. Survivors include her sisters, Ollirette Pierce of Ocilla and Teeny P. Giddens of Nashville, Ga. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. and Eddie Robinson Pierce and a brother, J.W. A native of Ben Hill County, Mr. Smith had lived in the community all of his life. He was a retired truck driver, a former employer of United Farm Tools and Coachmen Industries. He was a member and former deacon of Northside Baptist Church and attended Fitzgerald Church of God. Mr. Smith served with the Georgia National Guard for seven years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
