William Meriwether Bell
ALBANY —William (Bill) Meriwether Bell, 52, of 1509 US Highway 19 North, Leesburg, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at his residence. 

The graveside funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Leesburg Cemetery. The Rev. Bobby Harrell will officiate. 

A native of Sumter County, Mr. Bell had resided in Lee County all of his life. He was a graduate of Lee County High School, farmed for many years and competed on the national level in archery. He was in retail sales at LoweÕs Home Improvement Warehouse Store in Albany. He was involved with an exterminating company for a number of years, graduated from South Georgia Technical College and was involved in photography. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Leesburg. 

Survivors include his wife, Kay Millwood Bell of Leesburg; son, Lee Bell of Leesburg; a brother, Lin Bell of Leesburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Bell Sr. and Amelia Jones Bell and a brother, Jack Bell Jr.

ALBANY —Arminster (Sister) Collins of 715 Cotton Avenue died Monday, March 26, 2001, at Tift Regional Hospital in Tifton.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at First Mount Olive Baptist Church with burial in Union Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Jake Edwards Jr. will officiate. 

A native of Damascus, Mrs. Collins was self-employed and was a member of First Mount Olive Baptist Church. 

Survivors include two granddaughters, Beverlyn and Melody Terry of Albany; one great-granddaughter, Brie Anna Terry of Albany; a beloved niece, Barbara Parks of Greensboro, Ga.; one nephew, Ben Thomas of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a Goddaughter, Shirley Thomas; a son-in-law, Willis W. Terry of Albany.

ALBANY —Mildred H. Daniels, 53, of 1001 Dunes Park Lot 12, Albany, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Charles Edwin Poole
ALBANY —Dr. Charles Edwin Poole, 88, of Albany died Wednesday, March 28, 2001, at Palmyra Medical Centers and has gone home to be with the Lord and join his wife, Doris Hitchcock Poole, who preceded him in death in 1986.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Westview Cemetery in Moultrie, Ga. Mr. Bobby Marshall will officiate. 

A native of Worth County, Dr. Poole had lived in Albany since 1951. He attended Albany Gospel Chapel and was a retired chiropractor practicing in Albany for a number of years. He attended Gordon Military College in Barnesville, Ga., the Texas Chiropractic College in San Antonio, Texas, and was an Army veteran of World War II. 

Survivors include two daughters, Jan Poole Marshall of Albany, Gale Poole Shirah and her husband Tom, of Albany; two grandchildren, Lori S. Allen and her husband, Paul, Thomas Scott Shirah and his wife Shannon; a great-granddaughter, Lauren Ashley Allen; two sisters, Louise P. Palmer of Sylvester and Mildred P. Palmer of Hattiesburg, Miss.; two brothers, H.I. Poole Jr. of Sylvester and Dr. Grady Poole of Ashburn. He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Gary L. Marshall. 

The family is at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Shirah, 2102 Waddell Ave., Albany and will receive friends from 7 p.m.-8:30 p.m. today at Kimbrell-Stern.

ALBANY —Lula Bell Robinson, 81, of 214 Main Street, Leesburg, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at Lee County Health Care. 

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Zion Hope Baptist Church in Lee County with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Henry Lee Holsey will officiate. 

A native of Dougherty County, Mrs. Robinson was a member of Zion Hope Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Lear Mack of Albany; one son, Willie (Ann) Robinson Jr. of Albany; three grandchildren, Neil Robinson, Al Mack and Gail Mack, all of Albany and two great-grandchildren.

UNADILLA —Felicia Y. Brown of Unadilla died Friday, March 23, 2001, in Houston County. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Unadilla Recreation Gym Center with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery. The Rev. Robert C. Taylor will officiate. 

A native of Newark, N.J., Miss Brown joined the Overcome Baptist Church in Newark and later joined the Brown Chapel Baptist Church in Unadilla. She was a graduate of Dooly County High School and was employed at the Macon County State Prison as a corrections officer. 

Survivors include a daughter, ShaÕlondria Taylor of Unadilla; father, Winfred Brown of Mobile, Ala.; three sisters, Tanya Brown, Erica Woodson and Janetia Woodson, all of Unadilla; five brothers, Frankie Woodson Jr., Terrance Woodson, Tekulve Woodson and Corey Woodson, all of Plainfield, N.J., and Courtney Brown of Virginia; stepmother, Lillie Woodson of Plainfield, N.J.; grandmothers, Majorie Rogers of Hampton, Va., Rosie (Otis) Jones of Mobile, Ala., Minnie L. Rosalie Carter Johnson 
AMERICUS —Rosalie Carter Johnson, 85, of Magnolia Manor Nursing Center, Americus, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Sumter Regional Hospital in Americus. 

The graveside funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Americus. The Rev. Hugh Harbort and Rev. Gerald Hollis will officiate. Friends may call at Shiloh Baptist Church, prior to the funeral, from 12:30-2 p.m. today. 

A native of Wayne County, Ga., Mrs. Johnson was born July 6, 1915, a daughter of the late Lester P. Carter and Nina C. Sweat. She attended Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga., and was a retired elementary school teacher. In later years, Mrs. Johnson worked as a World Book representative, substitute teacher, and Luzier Cosmetics representative. She attended Lakeview Baptist Church in Lake Blackshear, Ga. 

Survivors include her husband, Garnett B. Johnson of Americus; one daughter and son-in-law, Lawana and Hodges Whitaker of Albany; one son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Joan Johnson of Smyrna; two sisters, Myrtice C. Joyner of Jacksonville, Fla., and Venita Durham of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; one brother, Aubrey Carter of Jacksonville, Fla.; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Shirley Emmitt Kennedy 
BLAKELY —Shirley Emmitt Kennedy, 70, of Byron died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at Oconee Regional Hospital in Milledgeville. 

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the chapel of Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home with interment in Blakely Cemetery with military rites. The Rev. Horace Chapman and Rev. Gilbert Osborn will officiate. 

A native of Turner County, Mr. Kennedy had lived in Byron for the past 16 years. He was retired from Candy U.S.A. and served in the U.S. Army. He attended First Assembly of God Church in Fort Valley. 

Survivors include his wife, Wanda McDonald Kennedy of Byron; daughter, Vivian Pollock of Lynn Haven, Fla.; three sons, Mickey Kennedy and Keith Kennedy, both of Leesburg and Kenneth Kennedy of Blakely; two sisters, Elma Lou Giddens of Tifton and Georgia Mae Quaglietta of Albany; 10 grandchildren and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Miles and Leila Murphy Kennedy. 

Visitation will be 7 p.m.-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

DAWSON —Larry Lewis, 49, of 179 Lane Hall died Thursday, March 22, 2001, at Palmyra Nursing Home.

Mr. Lewis was a laborer. He graduated from George Washington Carver High School and was a member of St. Matthews C.M.E. Church.
