Mrs. Errigo attended Georgia State College for Women's Aglow Fellowship and Camper for Christ.

A native of Albany, Mr. Pye was a retired master plumber and owned his own business. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Albert Pye Sr. and Fannie Odcssa Pye, a son, John W. Pye and a brother, Ronnie Pye.

ALBANY Mary Hildreth Richardson, 86, formerly of Albany, died Sunday, September 16, 2001, at Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Walden Chapel of the First United Methodist Church with interment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Beckham will officiate.

A native of Munfordville, KY, she attended Morrison Business School in Glasgow, KY, and Vocation Business School in Albany. She worked for the Western Kentucky Gas Co. for eight years. She moved to Albany in 1955, and worked for her brother, the late Dr. R.C. Richardson for 29 years as a medical assistant. She moved to Camilla in 1997. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the Sapp Sunday School Class. She enjoyed the arts, particularly ceramics, and freely shared her knowledge with many Albany citizens, particularly children.

Survivors include two nephews, Robert Christopher Richardson Jr. and his wife, Cindy, of Camilla and Robert Lester McGee of Milwaukee, WI; a niece, Lucy R. Wright and her husband, Tom, of Abidjan, Cotê d'Ivoiré in west Africa; a sister-in-law, Marion E. Richardson of Camilla; six great-nieces and nephews.

Billy J. Roberts
ALBANY SCPO Billy J. Roberts of 2322 West Alberson died at his home after a lengthy illness, Sunday, September 16, 2001, at the age of 61.

The memorial service will be Wednesday, 4 p.m. at Kimbrell-Stern. The Rev. Allen Bingham officiating. Mr. Roberts was cremated.

A native of Lenoir, N.C., and the son of the late Clyde and Bernice Roberts of Orlando, FL. Mr. Roberts had lived in Albany since 1992 where he was a member of Masonic Lodge 591, Scottish Rites and the American Legion. He served 22 years in the Navy during Vietnam and retired in 1980 as Senior Chief Petty Officer and worked for Civil Service until his health failed in 1985.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Mash Roberts of Albany; two daughters, Billie Marie Markovich of Bethlehem, PA, and Cathy Belanger of Meridian, Conn.; five stepchildren, Randall Pollock, Seconda Faulk, Madonna Gee, Robert Jones and Kenneth Jones, all of Albany; two sisters, Jean Dula and Lucy Benefield, both of Orlando; three nieces, Deborah Dula and Tony Sanders, both of Orlando, and Tamie Rae Tate of Colorado Springs, CO; five grandchildren, 19 step grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

CAMILLA Willie Belle Crissey, 85, of Camilla Retirement Village, E-2, 161 East Broad, Camilla, died Sunday, September 16, 2001, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Camilla United Methodist Church with interment in Oakview Cemetery. The Rev. Gene Yelverton will officiate.

Born February 18, 1916, in Camilla, Mitchell County, Mrs. Crissey was a retired registered nurse. She was a member of Camilla United Methodist Church and was the daughter of the late William Crawford Collins and Susie Belle Hughes.

Survivors include three sons, Lt. Col. (Ret.) Melvin P. Crissey Jr. of San Antonio, Texas, William F. Crissey of Duluth and Col. (Ret.) James E. Crissey of Lithonia; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

DAWSON Garna Chapman Jackson, 86, of Dawson died Monday, September 17, 2001, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Jackson was a native of Randolph County and was a lifelong resident of Terrell County. She was born October 23, 1914, daughter of Emmett Moncus and Daisy Morton Moncus. She was employed in sales for many years, having worked for Yale Rubber Company, Sears and Belk. She was a member of the Dawson United Methodist Church and Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Myra Jean Chapman; her first husband, John Willis "Pat" Chapman; second husband, Delmar Jackson and son-in-law, Jack Nichols.

Survivors include her children, Jane Nichols of Bronwood; Don and Shirley Chapman of Leesburg; Marie and Lee Peterman of Bonaire; sister, Kathleen Beavers of Atlanta; grandchildren, Al and Sandi Nichols of Leesburg, Terri G. and Frank Eaton of Arabi, Lynda and Tim Roberts of Bonaire, Jimmy and Edi Peterman of San Antonio, Texas; great-grandchildren, Corey and Jordan Nichols of Leesburg, Dawn and Dana Giffin of Arabi, and Karli and Dakota Roberts of Bonaire.

A native of Rome, Mr. Humphries was a chemical operator for Merck's Chemical Company. He graduated of the Public Schools of Dougherty County, attended Tuskegee University, Ala., received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Albany State University and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of Kappa Alpha Phi Fraternity.
 

Survivors include his wife, Linda Walker Humphries of Albany; three children, Megan Humphries of Albany, Nichole Humphries and Brian Humphries, both of Studio City, Calif.; a cousin, Ann R. Elliott of Albany; a mother-in-law, Verdell Walker of Albany; and a sister-in-law, Sharon Walker of Albany.

A native of Bainbridge on February 15, 1926, Mrs. Clark was the daughter of the late Ellie Heard and Ruby Atkinson Heard. She was retired from Thomas-Betts Lighting in Bainbridge. Mrs. Clark had lived in the community for the past nine years. She and Mr. Clark were former owners and operators of Clark's Grocery and Clark's Dairy in Bainbridge. She was a member of Ocilla Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Martha Sunday School Class.

RICHLAND Gena M. Geeslin, 83, of Lumpkin, died Saturday, September 15, 2001 at St. Francis Hospital in Columbus.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today (Monday) at Shady Grove Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Jack Ray will officiate, with Shirley Lane as pianist.

Miss Geeslin was born on November 25, 1917, in Stewart County to the late Eva Mae Brown Geeslin and James E. Geeslin. Miss Geeslin was a graduate of Stewart County High School, Southern Baptist School of Nursing, New Orleans, La., and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, N.C. for a short period of time after high school, she worked at the school of the Deaf at Cave Springs, Ga. She then felt an interest in nursing and entered Southern Baptist School of Nursing where she earned her RN. She returned to Lumpkin, working at Patterson Hospital, Cuthbert, and Doctors offices in Lumpkin. After some courses in Public Health Nursing at Peabody College, Nashville, Tenn., she began her career in Public Health in Rome, Ga., later she transferred to Columbus, Ga., where she served as Public Health Supervisor over Muscogee County. She decided to further her education and entered the University of North Carolina, where she earned a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Public Health Nursing. Being overqualified to return to Columbus, she went back to Rome as District Public Health Supervisor over several counties in Northwest, Ga., where she remained until her retirement in 1977.

She joined Shady Grove Baptist Church at an early age and remained faithful to her church and Lord all her life. She was a member of Lumpkin First Baptist Church Women on Mission, and a former member of Rome, Ga., Pilot Club and the Georgia and American Nurses Association, and had served on Stewart County Board of Health. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Emma Louise Geeslin and Mary Alice G. Walton Jenkins.

Survivors include four brothers, James B. Geeslin, Edgar Geeslin and Charles Marion "Red" Geeslin, all of Lumpkin and Roy C. Geeslin of Jonesboro; a sister, Verna Ruth Sanchez of Lumpkin; and 15 nieces and nephews, 32 great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A native of Ashland, Ky., Mrs. Beaty had lived in Albany since 1965. She had been a volunteer with the Dougherty County School System, a Cub Scout Leader and a homemaker. Mrs. Beaty was a member of Morningside United Methodist Church where she taught the New Horizons Sunday School Class, the Ladies Bible Study Group and served as the church treasurer.

A native of Willacoochee, Mrs. Carver was born on September 4, 1914 to the late George Mobley and Elizabeth Paulk Mobley. She was a homemaker and a member of Tift Avenue Church of God. She was the widow of the Rev. LeRoy Carver, who died May 2, 2000, and to whom she was married for 68 years.

Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, George V. and Fumika Carver of Arlington, Va., Glenn P. Georgia O'Meara Minter Wurst
DONALSONVILLE Georgia O'Meara Minter Wurst, 96, of 305 South Woolfork Ave., passed away Saturday morning, September 15, 2001, at her residence in Donalsonville, Ga.

The funeral service will be held Monday morning from the Friendship United Methodist Church in Donalsonville at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Jerry Lott officiating

Mrs. Wurst was a native of Seminole County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Milton McLendon and Mary Eva Funderburke Minter, was a 1923 graduate of Georgia State College for Women in Valdosta, Ga. Mrs. Wurst was in the Banking Industry where she was retired vice-president of Commercial State Bank of Donalsonville.

Mrs. Wurst was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church of Donalsonville. A member and treasurer for 50 years of the Methodist Workers Guild, Donalsonville Women's Club, Addie Brigham Sunday School Class, Charter Member of the Friendship Club, member of the 50 Plus Club and a former Chancel Choir Member for 40 years.

Survivors include her daughter, Gloria Wurst Priest of Tallahassee, Fla.; her son, Dallas Foster Wurst Jr. (Pat) of Donalsonville; her sister, Adele Minter Schroeder of Atlanta; two sisters-in-law, Clarice H. Minter and Lucy Minter; five grandchildren, Stephen Minter Priest, William Andrew Priest, Dallas Foster Wurst III, Patrick E. Wurst and Johnathan Howard Wurst; and four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dallas Foster Wurst Sr., a grandson, John Michael Priest; and a son-in-law, John Franklin Priest.

Flowers are accepted, however, contributions can be made to Friendship United Methodist Church, Hwy. 84, Donalsonville, Ga. 31745 or Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 1323 E. Shotwell St., Bainbridge, Ga. 31737.
