ALBANY AREA Doris Bolton
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Kimbrell-Stern with interment to follow in Floral Memory Gardens. Dr. Ron Baxley will officiate. A native of Mitchell County, Mrs. Bolton had lived in Worth County for the past four years. She was retired from Coats and Clark after 35 years of service. Her husband, Cecil L. Bolton, preceded her in death on September 2, 2000. She is survived by three daughters, Patsy Adams and her husband, John (Skip) of Sylvester, GA, Kay McDonald and her husband, Larry of Sylvester, GA and Sandra Miller of Albany, GA; one son, Paul Laramore and his wife, Angie of Albany, GA; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She received her bachelor's degree in English from Clark Collage, master's degree in curriculum and doctoral degree in education from Atlanta University. Mrs. Ellis was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Utilis Matronae Club, Albany Urban League Guild, National Association for Retired Persons, Ladies Independent Business Club, Retired Teachers Association, Grier Medical and Dental Association and National Dental Association. She was also a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. Survivors include her daughter, Josephine Ellis Reynolds of Newark, Delaware; son, Virlyn "Bubba" Ellis, daughter-in-law, Sandye Ellis of Atlanta, Ga.; two granddaughters, Victoria N. Ellis of Tallahassee, Fla. and Adrianne Reynolds Quarles of New Castle, Delaware; one grandson, Virlyn Todd Ellis of Miami, Fla.; grandson-in-law, Sean A. James Madison Head II
Memorial services, with military honors, will be held today, June 9, 2001, at 4 p.m. at his home on County Line Road in Sylvester, Ga. To his wife he was Jim; to his sons he was Dad; to his granddaughters he was Granddaddy; to others he was Jimmy. In his lifetime the world barely recovered from "the war to end all wars" before it was ravaged by the wars in Korea, Viet Nam, and the Persian Gulf. Because of his service those who mourn his death can admire him for his sacrifices. He served with valor in the Big Red One, First Infantry Division. He was a decorated Viet Nam war veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #30 and the DAV. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Linda Gail Head and son, James M. "Kee" achieved his grammar school education in the Randolph-Clay County School System. Very early on Kee set high standards by achieving many awards for his excellence in learning and extracurricular activities. He was an "A" student and a member of the Randolph-Clay High School Band. Intelligent, loving and obedient, Kee was a delightful child. His hobbies included a love for basketball, home construction and computers.
