ALBANY Allie Vynette Minix Justiss, 64, of Albany died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. 

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, 2 p.m., at Kimbrell-Stern with interment at Rowetown Missionary Baptist Church in Berrian County. The Rev. Clarence Luke will officiate.

A native of Helena, GA, Mrs. Justiss had lived in Albany most of her life. She was a member of Rowetown Missionary Baptist Church and a homemaker. 

Survivors include her husband, John J. Justiss of Albany, a daughter, Shelia Yvette Kilpatrick of Enigma, GA, three sons, Phillip Justiss of Douglas, GA, Robert Glenn Justiss of Ray City, GA, Oscar Clark Justiss of Albany, GA, two sisters, Mickie M. Brimer and Eula Mae Denning, both of Albany, GA, a brother, Oscar C. Minix of Terrytown, LA, 18 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Anthony Lee "Tony" Justiss. 

The family is at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Clark Justiss, 206 S. Mock Road, Albany, and will receive friends today, 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Kimbrell-Stern.

John Henry McMurria 
BLAKELY John Henry McMurria, 81, of 386 Bluffton Rd., Arlington, died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at his residence. 

The graveside funeral will be at 4 p.m. today at Oak Grove Cemetery with military rites. The Rev. James Hughes and the Rev. William Bowman will officiate. 

A native of Calhoun County, Mr. McMurria was the founder and owner of McMurria Auto Parts. He was a member of Arlington United Methodist Church. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Mr. McMurria was a member of the Arlington American Legion Post and served 19 years as a city councilman. He was a member of the Lions Club, served on the Arlington Methodist Church Board and was a member of the Scout Hut Sunday School Class. Mr. McMurria's parents were the late Ben Hill McMurria and Cencilla Fudge McMurria.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Cook McMurria of Arlington; three sons, John A. McMurria, Johnny M. McMurria and John E. McMurria; a sister, Alice Crampton of Orange Park, Fla.; a brother, Ben Hill McMurria of Pocatello, Idaho; several nieces and nephews; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. 

Active pallbearers will be R.C. Ward, K.O. Hudgens, Bill Halford, Lee Powell, James Hughes, Fred Andrews, Willard Odom, and Harold Alston. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of the American Legion.

A native of Chauncey, Ga., Mr. Ryals was the son of the late Orian Gordon Ryals and Frances Hazel Wilson Ryals. He was a member of Third Street Baptist Church, Cordelia Lodge #296 F & AM, and the Crisp County Sportsmans Club. He served in the US Army in World War II.

Robert James Marsh 
ALBANY Robert James Marsh, 67, of Worth County, died Monday, April 2, 2001, at his home following an illness. 

His funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Worth County with interment in Crown Hill Cemetery with full military honors. The Rev. Jody P. Abney will officiate. 

A native of Newton, NJ, he had lived in the Albany area for many years. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He retired as a Tech. Sergeant with the US Air Force, serving during the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and peacetime service between 1952 and 1973. Following that, he was employed with Procter & Gamble for 21 years from 1973 to 1994. 

Survivors include his wife, Josephine Marsh, Sylvester; two daughters, Christy Flourney, Sylvester and Sherry Frantz and her husband, Steve of Sylvester; a granddaughter, Rachel Nicole Frantz, Sylvester; a sister, Shirley DeVita, Milford, PA; two brothers, William Marsh, Orange Park, Fla. and John Marsh and his wife, Catherine of Palm Bay, Fla.

Carol Sells Tiballi 
PLANTATION, Fla. Carol Sells Tiballi, 59, of Plantation, Fla., passed away in her home on Sunday, April 1, 2001. A memorial service will be held on Thursday at the funeral home. 

Carol was the beloved mother of Brooke Tiballi Lochrie, who is married to Robert B. Lochrie III of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and Leah Tiballi Murchie, who is married to G. Stewart Murchie of Hartford, CT. Carol was grandmother "Nana" of John and James Lochrie and Augustus Murchie, and daughter of Monteen Lumley Sells and the late Augustus John Sells of Cuthbert, GA. 

Mrs. Tiballi was born in Buffalo, NY and spent her childhood in Rochester, NY, Albany, GA and Gainesville, Fla. Carol graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in psychology. Until the time of her illness, Carol was employed as a manager at Interim Physicians.

CAMILLA Jimmie Harold "Harry" Phelps Sr., 77, of Camilla died Monday, April 2, 2001, in Fort Gaines.

Born April 30, 1923 in Mitchell County, Mr. Phelps was the owner/operator of Dairy Queen in Camilla since 1963. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Camilla and an Army veteran of World War II. Mr. Phelps was the son of the late Carl Davis and Nora Alzada Clark Phelps.

A native of Early County, Mr. Still had lived in Early County since 1981. He was a retired district supervisor for Fleet Financial Services. He was a member of Sowhatchee Baptist Church. 

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Jean White Still; a daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Joe Delk of Dothan, Ala.; two sons, Robert and Dina Still of Dothan, Ala., and Tim Still of Dothan, Ala.; a grandson, Matthew Still of Dothan, Ala.; mother, Clytie Irene Weaver Still of Blakely; two brothers, John Louis Still and Clarence Still, both of Blakely; three sisters, Jeannine Houston of Blakely, Mary Ann Cline of Albany and Virginia Stanley of Augusta. He was preceded in death by his father, James Clarence Still.

John Harry Hayes
ALBANY The funeral service of John Harry Hayes, 61, of 1719 Eight Mile Road, who died Tuesday, April 3, 2001, will be conducted Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Mathews Funeral Home with interment in Floral Memory Gardens. The Rev. Robert Beckum and Rev. Thad Haygood will officiate.

A native and life long resident of Albany, Mr. Hayes attended Albany Public Schools and was a graduate of Albany High School. He was also a graduate of Mercer University and Walter F. George School of Law with a Doctor of Jurisprudence Degree. After serving as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Military Police at Ft. Benning, Ga., Mr. Hayes returned to Albany and set up his law practice from which he retired last year. 

He was a member and past president of The Albany Sertoma Club, past president of The Dougherty County Bar Association and past chairman of the board of Deerfield Windsor School. Mr. Hayes was a member of First United Methodist Church of Albany and was a partner in H & H Farms & Pretoria Station Hunting Preserve. 

Mr. Hayes is survived by his wife, Judy Collins Hayes; a son and daughter-in-law, A. Lee and Nicole Hayes of Albany; a daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Scott Hartog of Orlando, Fla.; four grandchildren, Hollyn and Hayes Hartog of Orlando and Allyson and Collins Hayes of Albany. He is also survived by his sisters, Jeannene Hayes Powers of Albany and Mickie Hayes Bateman and brother-in-law, Joey Bateman of Leesburg and by his brother, Bob A. Hayes and sister-in-law, Becky Hayes of Albany; nephews, Dale Powers of Del Rio, Texas, John Powers of Fayetteville, Ga., B.J. Hayes of Georgetown, S.C., John Hayes and Jim Bateman of Valdosta, Ga.; nieces, Kelly Powers Ort of Denver, Colo., Kim Bateman Cleesattle of Leesburg and Holli Hayes of Athens, Ga. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Allison and Ruby Hornbuckle Hayes of Albany. The family will receive friends from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. today at Mathews Funeral Home.

Born March 9, 1909 in Quincy, Fla., Mrs. Crosby was the owner/operator of the Camilla Western Auto for 50 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Camilla. Mrs. Crosby was married to the late Julius Cleveland Crosby Sr. and was the daughter of the late Offie and Adayna Bell Howell.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Julius C. "Jimmy" Crosby Jr. and Hilda Crosby of Camilla; two sisters, Jewell Bowen of Pelham and Hazel Danziesen of Camilla; three sisters-in-law, Elouise Howell of Pelham, Sarah Howell of Pelham and Zelma Howell of Summerville, S.C.; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
