   Janet Louise Andersen, 86, of 1071 Sunshadow Lane died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998.
   A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mrs. Andersen was member of Bethabara Baptist Church, Statham. 
   Memorial services will be at 5 p.m. Thursday at Bethabara Baptist Church with the Rev. Frank Johnson officiating. Burial will be private.
   Survivors include a sister, Estelle Koster, New York; four sons, Ralph O. Andersen, Bishop, John J. Andersen, New York, and Durbin Knisely and Kurt Knisely, both of Statham.
   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethabara Baptist Church, 4651 Monroe Highway, Statham, Ga. 30666.

   Ida Ruth Brawner Brown, 70, of 1756 Bonds Road died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998.
   A native of Franklin County, Mrs. Brown was a daughter of the late Herman and Lula Mae Brawner. She was retired from Hart Care Center as a social worker assistant and a member of Old Canon Baptist Church.
   Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Strickland Funeral Home with the Revs. Gary McWhorter, Sam Duncan, J.J. Chatham and Truitte Brawner officiating. Burial will be in Nancy Hart Memorial Park.
   Survivors include her husband, Melvin Lamar Brown; three daughters, Pam Rowland, Dewy Rose, Melba Rowland, Royston, and Kathy McCurley, Hartwell; four sons, James Lamar Brown, Waleska, Curtis Edwin Brown, Hartwell, Jerry R. Brown, Canon, and Keith Brown, Jacksonville, Fla.; five sisters, Louise Crowder and Martha Brawner, both of Lavonia, Mary Isom, Anderson, S.C., Betty Phillips, Athens, and Linda Sellers, Toccoa; three brothers, Robert Brawner, Anderson, S.C., the Rev. Truitte Brawner, Toccoa, and Grady Brawner, Eastanollee; 12 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
   The family is at the residence and will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Dock Crump

   Dock Crump, 89, formerly of Toccoa, died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998.
    A native of Banks County, Mr. Crump was a son of the late Robert T. and Nancy Hulsey Crump. He was retired after 15 years with International Furniture.
   Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today in Camp Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Albert Hudson officiating.
   Survivors include his wife, Stella Fagan Crump, Mount Airy; three daughters, Barbara Dudley, Central, S.C., and Janice Thurmond and June Galloway, both of Mount Airy; three sons, Plumer Crump, Alto, John Crump, Baldwin, and Larry Crump, Ladson, S.C.; 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

   Mary Eva Jarrett, 74, of 224 Emily St. died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998.
   A native of Stephens County, Mrs. Jarrett was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Sam Terrell. She was a member of Crossroad Baptist Church.
   Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Crossroad Baptist Church with the Revs. G.L. Walton and Fabian Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
   Survivors include her husband, James Jarrett; a daughter, Doris Davis, Charlotte, N.C.; two sons, James A. Perry and Ted Jackson, both of Atlanta; four sisters, Lillie Brock, Louisville, and Martha Thornton, Hannah Terrell and Millie Mance, all of Toccoa; a brother, Andrew Terrell, Keysville; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
   The family is at the residence.

Odis Jordan Jr.

   Odis Jordan Jr., 68, of 1152 Hull Road died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998.
   A native of Madison County, Mr. Jordan was a son of the late Revonda Evans Jordan and Odis Jordan Sr. An Army veteran of the Korean War, he was employed with Delmar and a member of Hull Baptist Church.
   Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with the Revs. Randy Crowe and Albert Vaughn officiating.
   Survivors include his wife, Jean Jordan; two daughters, Sheree Carlan and Tamara Jordan, both of Athens; a son, Terry Jordan, Comer; two sisters, Shirley Epps and Nita Hart, both of Danielsville; two brother, Rajah Jordan and Kenneth Jordan, both of Danielsville; two grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
   The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. today at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East.

Leila M. Kenney

   Leila Mae Kenney, 66, of 2360 W. Broad St., College Place Apartment 5, died Sunday, Aug. 2, 1998.
   A native of Clarke County, Mrs. Kenney was a daughter of the late James S. and Minnie Sheats Arnold. She was employed by the Council on Aging for several years and was a member of Timothy Baptist Church.
   Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Timothy Baptist Church with the Revs. Jerry F. Hutchins and William Jennings officiating. Burial will be in Robinson Cemetery, Watkinsville. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.
   Survivors include seven daughters, Barbara Norris, Mary Yearby, Ethel Moore, Patsy Kenney, Marian Kenney and Taneitha Kenney, all of Athens, and Harriett Smith, Birmingham, Ala.; four sons, James Crawford, Ernest Crawford and William Kenney, all of Athens, and Joseph Kenney Jr., Pittsburgh; 40 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
   The family is at the residence.

   William Theodore "Bill" Koester, 74, of 500 Edgewater Drive died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998.
   A native of Charleston, S.C., Mr. Koester was a son of the late Mary Hutcherson Koester and William T. Koester Sr. A Merchant Marine, he was retired from Lockwood-Green Engineering as project engineer and a member of New Hope Methodist Church and Methodist Men.
   Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Strickland Fu neral Home with the Revs. Barry Cannon and Don Nestor officiating. Burial will be in Beulah Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery.
   Survivors include his wife, Doris Taylor Carnes Koester; a daughter, Mary Catherine Burgis, Virginia Beach, Va.; a son, William Theodore "Teddy" Koester III, Wagener, S.C.; three stepdaughters, Donna Vickery, Hartwell, Sherry Carnes, Charleston, S.C., and Janie Loggins, Colbert; two stepsons, Jimmy Carnes, Elberton, and Frankie Carnes, Hartwell; a sister, Thelma Janson, Baltimore, Md.; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

   Christopher Albert Whitaker, 14, of 1030 Norris Lane died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998.
   A native of Clarke County, Mr. Whitaker was a son of Charon Mae Vickery and Albert Arnold Whitaker. He was a student.
   Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Madison Baptist Church with the Rev. Newton C. Cranford officiating. Burial will be in Sewell Methodist Church.
   Survivors, in addition to his parents, include a sister, Leslie Jean Bishop, Madison; four grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Vickery, Madison, and Mr. and Mrs. Mell Whitaker, Rutledge; a great-grandmother, Jennie Viola Vickery, Sparta; and aunts and uncles.

   James Zell Willoughby Jr., 61, of 13 Hardin Hill Road died Monday, Aug. 3, 1998.
   Mr. Willoughby was a native of Oconee County.
   Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Hurley Funeral Home, Athens, with the Rev. J.L. Nunnally officiating. Burial will be in Tignall Cemetery.
   Survivors include his wife, Betty J. Willoughby; a son, James E. Willoughby, Watkinsville; five sisters, Lola B. Willoughby, Joanne Mitchell and Sarah Willoughby, all of Watkinsville, Pearlie Edwards, Athens, and Clara Fambrough, Atlanta; two stepsons, Joseph Watson, Watkinsville, and Douglas Watson, Monroe; and a grandson.

James Davis

   James Walter Davis, 79, of 471 Burton Creek Road died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998.
   A native of Pigeon Forge, Tenn., Mr. Davis was a son of the late Robert and Mary Montieth Davis and was the widower of Ida Wood Davis. He was preceded in death by a son, Walter Ray Davis. He was an Army veteran of World War II and retired from Trogdon Furniture Co.
   Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Acree-Davis Funeral Home, Toccoa, with the Rev. Ernest Ivester officiating. Burial will be in Tugalo Baptist Church Cemetery.
   Survivors include a daughter, Brenda Voyles, Hull; a son, James William Davis, Lavonia; two sisters, Effie Mae Gulley, Toccoa, and Sarah Elizabeth Edwards, Martin; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
   Pallbearers will be Mike Davis, Todd Voyles, Dennis Muller, Kevin Brown, Jason Voyles and Tommy Voyles.
   The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Davis, 7348 Georgia Highway 59, Lavonia, and will receive friends 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

   Bonnie Stephens Burrell England, 71, of Circle Drive died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 1998.
   A native of White County, Mrs. England was a daughter of the late Hubert and Grace Beck Stephens. She was first married to the late Ray Burrell and was the widow of Bill England. She was a member of Baldwin Baptist Church, a former employee of Academy Garment Co. and retired from Short Manufacturing Co.
   Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. today at Whitfield Funeral Home with the Revs. Larry Barnes, Leonard Gibbs and J. Frank Sailers officiating. Burial will be in Baldwin Cemetery with the Rev. Ernest Allen officiating.
   Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Cathey, Gainesville; a son, Rick Burrell Sr., Cornelia; three sisters, Emma Lewallen, Baldwin, Ethel Taylor, Greenville, S.C., and Violet Styles, Easley, S.C.; a brother, Hollis Stephens, Piedmont, S.C.; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

   Erna Ruth Hawk, 82, of 1300 Walter Shepherd Road died Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1998.
   A native of Walton County, Mrs. Hawk was a daughter of the late Roxie Norris and Vivian Scarborough and was the widow of James Hughlon Hawk Sr. She was a seamstress.
   Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rutledge Methodist Church with the Rev. Bonnie Peters officiating. Burial will be in Rutledge City Cemetery.
   Survivors include two daughters, Elease H. Shepherd, Rutledge, and Deborah Conner, Madison; a son, Jimmy Hawk, Madison; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

   Charlene Dickerson Oglesby, 78, of 2835 Bowman Highway died Tuesday, Aug. 4, 1998.
   A native of Elbert County, Mrs. Oglesby was a daughter of the late Telford and Orene Adams Dickerson and was the widow of Ed Oglesby. She was a member of Victory Baptist Church and retired from Wright Garment Co.
   Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today at Berry Funeral Home with the Revs. Sean Baughman and Milton Bagwell officiating. Burial will be in Faith Baptist Church Cemetery.
   Survivors include three daughters, Betty Rousey, Dewy Rose, Scheryl Ray, Elberton, and Edalene Roberts, Comer; a son, Rickey Oglesby, Dewy Rose; a brother, Desmond Dickerson, Bowman; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
   Pallbearers will be Norris Dickerson, Darren Ray, Rodney Oglesby, Randy Ray, Keith Ray and Chuck Roberts.
   The family is at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Rickey Oglesby, 1866 Hewell Road, Dewy Rose.
